  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

  Elaine L. Orr writes three mystery series. The Jolie Gentil cozy mystery series, set at the Jersey shore, has eleven books and a prequel. Behind the Walls was a finalist for the 2014 Chanticleer Mystery and Mayhem Awards. She also writes the three-book River's Edge series; set in Iowa; Demise of a Devious Neighbor was a Chanticleer finalist in 2017. The two-book Logland series is set in small-town Illinois, and features a female police chief rather than an amateur sleuth.

  Biding Time was one of five finalists in the National Press Club's first fiction contest, in 1993. More recent reflective fiction includes Falling Into Place and In the Shadow of Light. She is a regular attendee at conferences such as Magna Cum Murder, and conducts presentations on electronic publishing and other writing-related topics. Her nonfiction includes carefully researched local and family history books, and books about writing, including Writing When Time is Scarce. Elaine grew up in Maryland and moved to the Midwest in 1994.
