Lucifer vanishes. Quinn walks back over to Neri. They both look at to the guide.
“What shall it be?”
The two at the same time say.
“We’ll drink from both!”
“We’ll drink from both...”
The woman smiles, and pulls out two bowls, and tosses them. Neri effortlessly catches hers, while Quinn fumbles his. The two then fill them with water, from each stream. Quinn looks at the bowl, hesitantly.
“Are you sure-?”
“Bottoms up!”
Neri downs hers. Quinn follows suit. For a moment, everything is dark. Quinn thinks to himself. “I can’t see a thing. I also don’t have the bowl. Hm, what’s poking me? Actually, there is a bunch of-”
Quinn bumps into what feels like a person. With some fear swelling up, Quinn talks.
“...Hello?”
“Hey Quinn.”
“Oh, thank goodness it’s you.”
“Hehe, did I scare you?”
“...No... Anyways, where are we?”
“My eyes are starting to adjust, and this kind of looks like the inside of a closet.”
“Hm?”
Quinn looks around.
“Actually, this seems, kind of familiar.”
Quinn reaches for the door handle, and opens the door. The two look out seeing Quinn’s living room. Lilith looks back at them.
“I think we are back.”
Quinn says.
“Seems that way.”
“What took you two so long?”
Lilith asks, with irritation coating her voice.
“It was kind of a long trip.”
“Thanks for opening the portal, for us.”
Neri says.
“Why are your eyes open?”
Neri closes her eyes.
“Understood.”
“Why is your mouth still moving?”
Neri closes her mouth.
“Anyways, I don’t have all day. Bring him out.”
“Sure... One second.”
Quinn walks up to his room, to give Lucifer some time to prep. He then begins desperately pleading with Lucifer, to actually head down. Neri is left standing along with the hunter. “...He just left me here...”
A couple moments later, a still slightly sedated, Lucifer comes downstairs and walks outside; without acknowledging anyone. Lilith soon gets up, and walks after him. A massive explosive noise is heard from outside. Neri is still standing there, with her eyes closed. Quinn comes back into the living room.
“She probably isn’t coming back.”
Neri opens her eyes.
“Great. I feel really uncomfortable, when she is around.”
“Uh-huh, I get you.”
Neri stares at Quinn for a little while.
“You seem different.”
Quinn’s expression changes, going from one state to another, eventually settling on a happier one.
“Yeah. Rather then saying I feel like my old self, it’s more accurate to say, that I feel like a new person.”
“Good, I’m glad we both grew from this adventure.”
“Yeah.”
“What are you going to do now?”
“What do you mean?”
“You have your soul back. Are you going to try and trade it again?”
“It’s true Lucifer can’t heal properly without it. So, it probably would be smart to. Plus, it is a good bargaining chip, to get him to be pushed towards becoming a better person.”
“Ah, so that is your plan.”
“We can probably go over everting we couldn’t before, in greater detail, later.”
“Alright.”
“The thing about selling my soul again, is that I would have to give something up.”
“Yeah.”
“And well, right now, I’m feeling too greedy to do so. I’ll achieve my goal, without sacrificing anything else.”
“I see. Well, I think that’s probably the right thing to do.”
“r-Really?”
“Obviously. The best result, is the one where everyone is happy, don’t you agree?”
“Yeah, it is.”
Neri seems psyched up.
“Okay, I now have some more clear goals to work towards, and a better grasp on what’s going on. This is a huge step forward!”
“For?”
“Protecting the town, and becoming a Paranormal Detective, clearly.”
“Clearly? Okay, yeah.”
Neri extends her fist.
“And we are going to do it, together!”
Quinn stares out at the girl. Hesitantly, he meets her.
“Together.”
As the two finish their fist bump, Lucifer walks in, looking as if he was hit by a bus, struck by lightning, given a disease, shot up, and landed in the dump.
“p... Payback, will be... mine...”
The two point at the man.
“What’s this now?”
“We are going to turn you good!”
They both exclaim.
“...Great, there multiplying...”
Quinn with a satisfied feeling, starts thinking to himself. “Having gone to Purgatory and back, I’m glad it was with them”
“...”
“...”
“...”
The two men turn to the girl, with shocked looks.
“You can see him?”
“You can see me?”
“Yep!”
Neri gives a big smile.
