Love Thy Neighbor's Nephew

He leaned forward, the gentle feel of his lips on her neck sending chills along her skin, and she tried with all her might not to lose control.

“Mmm, you smell so good. Peony. I always loved the fragrance on you. Glad you didn’t change it.”

He hooked his hands underneath her legs and pulled her even closer, gaining better access between her thighs and grinding into her harder.

“How does that feel, baby?” he growled in her ear.

She didn’t answer. Instead, she wrapped her arms around his neck and enjoyed the sensations. It had been a long while since her body had leaned against rigid muscle, and even then, it hadn’t been like this.

  This was heaven.

She couldn’t fight him. It would’ve been futile anyway, especially since her moans of pleasure had already given her away.

  “Oh, Lawrence! Oh God!”

“That’s it. Come for me. Come on, I can feel it. Damn!” He trailed kisses along her jaw while his dick rubbed her clit through their clothes. “You feel so good. I want to be inside you, right now.”

Letting herself go, she threw her head back and tightened her hold around him. She pumped her hips, trying to get his hard-as-steel cock inside her through her jogging pants. “Hurry, please. Oh! I’m coming, yes!”

Lawrence took her hands from around his neck and held them over her head. He kissed her roughly and ground even harder into her, but slower. This was turning out to be the best dry fucking she’d ever had. Arousal flooded her body. She tried to control her reaction, but he brought out emotions she couldn’t wrap her head around. Lord! She was in the kitchen making out with a younger man.

“Yeah, baby. Come on, let go. It’s just you and me in here. You’re already showing me how good I make you feel.” He pressed into her, nearly knocking her against the cabinet. “Let me make you come, lose control.”

Her orgasm hit. She tried with all her might to hold back, not to come in this young man’s arms—Liz’s nephew! But she lost all reason and control.

“Ahhh! Oh, Lawrence. Yes. Oh!” When the waves of pleasure subsided, she slid off the counter and eased away from him. Her orgasm had been so intense, it scared her. But again, he stopped her, pulled her into his embrace, and touched his forehead to hers.

“Relax, baby. Enjoy it,” he whispered. “You can’t pretend anymore. We can’t pretend anymore.” He kissed her cheek then took her face in his hands and French kissed her deeply.

She didn’t fight him. She nearly collapsed in his arms. The way he kissed her urged her to another climax. Instead of pushing away, she pressed herself closer to snuggle against him and tuck her body to his. But a part of her still saw Lawrence as Liz’s nephew—a kid—and she hesitated.

“Come on, Yolanda, touch me. Let’s come together.” He reached between them and stroked the outside of her opening through her pants.

Unable to stop herself, she eased her hand down. When she reached his bulge and palmed it, she tried to bring herself back to reality. But as he continued to fondle her, everything fogged. She started rubbing him, cupping him, anything to get her fingers firmly on his huge cock.

She wondered what his shaft looked like, how it would feel plunging into her….

“Oh yeah. Your hand feels good on me. Rub me harder. Don’t be scared. Come on. I want to come, too,” he murmured against the side of her head. He inhaled deeply. “Mmm. Your hair even smells sexy.”

She stroked him while he caressed her, working them both into a frenzy. When they broke the kiss, she was panting heavily.

Suddenly, he stiffened against her, and a moment later, she shook as her hips gyrated uncontrollably beneath his touch. She came with a shudder while his lips stayed planted on hers.

When the ecstasy of her release tapered off, she attempted to calm herself. He held her as she tried to think clearly.

Yolanda didn’t know what she was going to do. But damn, if he didn’t make her feel good.

  “Yolanda.”

“What?” Her eyes still closed, she leaned back enjoying the remnants of her last climax, and the heat and weight of his body against hers.

“I want to make love to you. I want to be inside you.”

His words brought her back to Earth. She pushed him aside before he had a chance to grab her again.

“No!” She ran back to the nook, sat back down in the chair, and put her head in her hands. “Oh God. Do you realize what we’ve done?” Guilt consumed her, but yet….

Lawrence understood her apprehension. He wanted to see things through her eyes, but he couldn’t. There was nothing wrong with what happened. He joined her at the table. “Okay, I’ll admit if we told someone what happened and how you and I know each other, it would raise a few eyebrows.”

  “You think?”

“But we can’t deny we want each other. The attraction is there. So do we ignore it?”

“I don’t know. Maybe it was just a fluke.”

“Are you kidding? You came twice in my arms. That’s not a fluke.”

Yolanda jumped up. “Well, we definitely can’t keep going on.”

“I’m Lizzy’s nephew. So what? If I was a stranger walking down the street and I stopped to talk to you, would it be different?”

  “I’ve thought about that.”

So, she had thought about it! He’d only been home for a few days, which meant she’d been thinking about him since he walked in the door. “Well, maybe we can take it from there.”

“Even if we could, you’re still….”

Damn. She needed to get past that—she’d certainly seemed fine with it during their stint against the kitchen counter. “There are three things that are not going to change. My age, my family relations, and my feelings for you.”

She sighed. “I just think we need to put a halt to this until we can figure something out.”

He sat there for a few moments until he realized what she’d just said. “Do you mean, you’ll actually consider a relationship with me?”

“I-I don’t know. I don’t know what I’m saying.” She paced the room.

“What does your heart tell you?”

  “I’m confused.”

  Chapter Nine

Yolanda couldn’t believe what had just happened. It’d been unnerving to say the least. Actually, it’d been downright scary!

The day had started out normal enough. She’d enjoyed her morning coffee and worked on a client’s project. Lawrence had arrived with what she’d thought was an innocent visit, but after a few inappropriate questions about her love life, she had been dry fucked by a much younger man. What the hell had happened?

The last question he had asked her would haunt her forever if she didn’t confront it right away. What did her heart tell her? She was confused. Could she have those kinds of feelings for him? She cared for him…but as her own son.

At least she thought she did.

  “Yolanda!”

Her head shot up, and she stopped wearing a grove in the floor. “Yes.”

“Where were you?” he asked, with a knowing smirk.

“Nowhere. I mean, just thinking. This is happening so fast. I have to be honest with you. I feel weird about the whole thing. I’ve always thought of you as one of my own.”

  “Have you really?”

  “Yes!”

“How about when you saw me in your living room for the first time in years.”

She sighed. He had her there. She hadn’t seen him as a kid. In fact, as much as she’d tried to freeze him in time, the man who stood before her had erased everything she was familiar with.

Lawrence was a grown man. All man.

  “You’re still my best friend’s—”

“Nephew. I know. I wish I could change things, but I can’t. It is what it is. We need to figure out what to do next.”

“Are you going to just blurt out to Liz and Hank that you have feelings for me?” she asked.

“No, it won’t go over well, that much I know. But I also know somet
hing has to be said before the party.”

“Before the…? That’s impossible!” The boy was moving too fast for her. “We need time to think, plan what we’re going to say. And us. We need to really sit down and figure out our true feelings about each other. This is no time to rush things.”

“Can you honestly be in the same room with me, my aunt and uncle, and the rest of the neighborhood and not say anything?”

“Before we jump the gun, we need to get some answers. What are your feelings really? Love, lust, desire, need…?”

“All of the above. How about you? Don’t think I haven’t noticed the way you’ve been staring at me. And we both know how you reacted on the counter,” he said, nodding toward the kitchen.

“I’ll be honest. You’re a very handsome man. I can’t get over how much you’ve grown.”

“Please, don’t say it that way. Sounds like my grandmother during summer vacation,” Lawrence said, rolling his eyes.

“Sorry. What I meant to say was you’re not the boy I remember. If I saw you walking down the street, I would have done a double or triple take.”

“If I saw you, too, and asked for your number, would you give it to me?”

She tilted her head, taking a moment to choose her words carefully. “Yes, but with reservation.”

  “Why?”

“You’re still a younger man. I’m not sure if I could do the cougar thing, at least not for the long run.”

“Oh, I see.” He looked skeptical. “A fling maybe?”

“I couldn’t have a fling even if I was drunk. Which is why if a younger man was really interested in me for something longer, I would proceed with caution.”

He crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair. “Not all men under forty are flaky or immature.”

Yolanda blew out a breath. “This is a mess.”

  “You said it.”

“I think you better go home.” She cocked her head in the direction of the door. “I’m sure Liz might need something. She could use your help with the party.”

He rose and crossed to her. “Aunt Lizzy? Miss Party Planner? I doubt it.”

“It’s next weekend. She might want an extra hand.”

“Trying to get rid of me?” he asked with a smirk and quirked brow. “It’s gonna be difficult to ignore what just happened here, especially when you’re around Lizzy. Don’t you think you and I should settle things as soon as possible?”

Moving to the sink, she gathered up the dishes and loaded them in the dishwasher. “I’ll have to deal with that when the situation presents itself. You know as well as I do, this is a very complicated state of affairs. We need more than an afternoon chat over coffee and bagels to settle it.”

He grabbed her by the waist and turned her to face him. “The sooner the better. I want to pursue a relationship. I think you do, too.”

“This is so weird.” She wanted an easy solution, but the situation was more complex than any of the web pages she’d created. At least those made sense. This didn’t.

“Only because you have me frozen in time.” He shrugged. “I guess it’s only natural.”

“I can’t ignore how I’m feeling. I was attracted to you as soon as I saw you. But then, I did go back in time, saw you as little Lawrence.”

“So, we have to fix that. Let me leave you with this.” He pulled her closer and held her tighter.

Her body heated as her desire reawakened. As she stared into his eyes, she couldn’t deny she was fascinated with him. Any woman with a shred of coherent thought would be attracted to him.

Leaning down, he kissed her, and she didn’t try to resist one bit. Maybe a part of her was turned on by the notion of making out with a younger man. Or could it be the fact he was related to her best friend? Whatever it was, her excitement kicked up several notches.

He broke the kiss and caressed her cheeks. “Now, that wasn’t so bad, was it?”

She shook her head. “It doesn’t change the fact we still need to sit down and talk about everything rationally. You can’t be in love with me. Attracted maybe, I’ll give you that. More likely there’s some fantasy in your mind about having an older woman, especially your aunt’s best friend. I understand the forbidden.”

“I’m not just attracted to you physically, Yolanda. I love everything about you. You’ve been my cheerleader since I arrived here after my parents’ death. And no, I’m not replacing you as a mother figure or any figure of authority. I love you as a woman, as a good friend.”

“And I want to keep my friendship with you, Liz, and Hank. You’re right, we can’t keep this a secret, but I’m afraid of the backlash.”

Lawrence nodded. “I’ll think of something. Don’t go worrying yourself. And try not to act suspicious around Lizzy. She might start asking questions. We need to tell them both together.”

She removed herself from his arms. “Gonna be kinda tough.”

  “Yeah, I agree.”

“I just don’t want what might be misinterpreted feelings to tear our families apart.”

“Trust me, I understand your concern.” He gave her arm a comforting stroke, his hand strong and reassuring. “I’m not ignoring it. And I’m not letting my little head do the thinking.”

“Good, because I can only imagine if they found out without us first talking to them.”

She could see it now—Liz coming into the house for morning coffee and walking in on her and Lawrence in a loving embrace. Or worse yet, him coming down from her bedroom wrapped in nothing more than a bath towel. It would be the biggest scandal in the neighborhood. She would be an outcast and run out of town. All her friends and family would shun her.

Yes, she and Lawrence needed to talk with them as soon as possible. Her feelings for him were not going to subside. She could see that.

Lawrence had a challenge ahead of him. But he should have figured she would balk. Their relationship wasn’t normal in the typical boy-meets-girl sense.

If he’d met someone at college the same age as her and brought her home to meet his aunt and uncle, no prob. But how could he introduce his aunt’s best friend as the woman he’d fallen for? “Hey, Liz, guess what? I’ve fallen for Yolanda, and not only that, we made out in her kitchen.”

He grimaced. Maybe he hadn’t thought the relationship all the way through. After all, one night in bed staring at the ceiling couldn’t really count as deeply assessing the situation. But he’d figured he would have the right responses to any questions people might ask him.

He ran a hand through his hair and grimaced at the fact he forgot to gel it down. “Let’s talk about something else. It’s obvious neither one of us has the answers.”

  Yolanda nodded.

“So, what’s on the menu for the party?”

“Mac n’ cheese with bacon. Chicken and dumplings, pot roast—”

Lawrence held his hands up. “Stop right there. My stomach is growling already. Good Lord, woman. Talk about the way to a man’s heart. I can almost smell that herb chicken boiling in the pot. And those dumplings! Those should be illegal they’re so tender”

She giggled. Such a sexy sound.

“I love to cook. And don’t say, I don’t have to go out of my way just for your party.”

He patted his stomach and chuckled. “Don’t worry.”

She laughed. The sound always gave him a warm feeling inside. The moment was so warm and so right he wanted to take her in his arms right there. He could love her all day and all night. But he restrained himself.

“Are any of your university colleagues coming to the party?”

“Nah, I don’t know anyone well enough to invite over.”

  “Not even Professor Grayson?”

He grinned to himself. So, she was still jealous. “Even her. Besides, she’s not much of a party animal. Honesty, I only know her through my internship at Yale. She’s been a great help to me, and yes, we have traveled together, but all strictly business. Her head is more in the books than mine.”

  “I see.”

He wanted to tell her she had no reason worry over any woman. But he let it drop. He didn’t want to call her out on her…concerns. He folded dishtowels while she flitted back and forth in the kitchen, putting away dishes. He loved watching her move, her body reminded him of a panther stalking through the night. Smooth, sexy, fluid motions, without even trying.

He needed to leave—now. “I need to get back home. I have a lot of paperwork to fill out.”

  “Really? What kind?”

“Background checks for the university, you name it.”

“If they need a character witness, you can put me on the list. But shouldn’t they have done everything before they gave you the position?”

“That would have been too much like right.” He laughed. “No, they checked my academic records, going back to high school even. They just completed it. You know bureaucratic red tape, it’s never on time.”

  “Got that right.”

Lawrence grabbed his keys, and Yolanda followed him to the door. “Don’t think about our situation too hard. I’ve learned from working on equations, the more you think about it, the farther away you get from the answer. Tomorrow is a new day.”

“Okay.” She had a cynical smirk on her face.

He leaned in and kissed her cheek. “Bye. Talk to you later.”

As he crossed the street to his aunt and uncle’s house, he thought about what he’d told Yolanda. He didn’t want to worry her any more than needed.

  But their situation was complicated.

He played over and over in his head what he would say to Lizzie and Uncle Hank. They weren’t prudes, but they weren’t free-spirited hippies either.

He walked in the house and, following his aunt and uncle’s voices, stuck his head in the den. “Hey guys, back.”

Lizzy glanced up. “Getting ready to hit the books again?”

“That and fill out some official paperwork.”

“Well, I for one will be glad when you have time for us,” Hank groused in a playful manner. He was a big burly man, sorta like the Old Marlboro man. His voice rattled the room, but he was a real teddy bear deep inside. At least that’s what Lizzy said.
