“That’s tragic, everyone should know how to make an omelet. I will show you and you will never forget.”

“Wait,” I said, “I want to get my camera so I can always know how to do this.” I got my camera and he proceeded to make me a bacon, cheese, broccoli omelet. Watching him work, his playful manner, his ease, his charm, I suddenly realized what a loss it was that he was no longer working on camera. He was splendid to watch. We ate, the omelet was superb, made love again. I stepped into the shower and, after a moment, he was in with me, behind me, his thick cock slipping gently into me from behind. He fucked me, he washed my hair and then, when we were dressed, he kissed me good-bye.

  ***

“Why isn’t he wearing a shirt?’ Cassey asked. We were in the editing room and I was showing her the video of Gabriel making the omelet.

  “Never mind, just watch him.”

  “Did you two have sex?”

“No, he just came to my house, took off his shirt and made me an omelet. You’re missing the point, Cassey,” I said, getting a little annoyed. We watched the video and Gabriel was truly amazing. Just a man making an omelet but, he was so natural, so easy in front of the camera it almost took my breath away. “He needs to be back doing this,” I said and she nodded her agreement. I watched the video three more times and I became determined to get Gabriel back on the air.

I found him in his work room, tools on the walls, a small TV, a fridge. He was leaning over his work bench fixing a sound board. He turned and smiled when I walked in. I was still fired up from the video.

“I need to talk to you, actually, I need to do this.” I shut the door and dropped to my knees in front of him. I unzipped his pants and pulled his soft cock out and took it into my mouth. He moaned and I started to suck him furiously, hungrily, I wanted this so much. It didn’t take long. He got harder and harder and soon, I tasted the salty jets in my mouth and he released a flood on cum down my throat. It was perfect. I sucked him until he had not a drop left in him. I stood up, took a drink from his coke can and smiled.

“OK, now we talk,” I said. His eyes were wide and he was a little shaky. “You need to be back on the air,” I said and he turned away. He zipped up and opened the door.

“Not up for discussion,” he said and motioned for me to leave. “I am never going to anchor again.”

“You don’t have to anchor, you can do segments. You should look at the video I took of you making the omelet. It’s great Gabriel, it really is.” He stared at me and his eyes got dark. “Are you mad at me?” I asked. He shook his head.

“No... I’m... I have to finish...” he gestured toward his work bench. I felt shut out. I felt sick. I felt like I had ruined something wonderful.

“OK. I’ll... talk to you later.” I left and went back to my office.

I was sitting behind my desk, staring at my computer when Cassey knocked on the door.

“You OK?” she asked, “you look kind of... awful.” I looked at her and then, I told her what had happened, how I suggested that Gabriel go back on the air. How I felt like I ruined something good. How stupid I felt.

“You sucked his cock in the workroom?”

“Yes, she did.” Gabriel was there in the doorway. “And she was quite good. I’d give her a solid 7 out of ten.” Cassey covered her mouth and giggled. “Can you give us a minute, Cassey?” he asked and she left. He closed the door. “Let me see the tape.” We sat and watched the tape together a few times and then, we were silent. “It’s not bad,” he finally said, with the objective voice of a man who knew what he was talking about.

  “It’s brilliant.”

“Don’t over sell it, it’s just an omelet.” Silence again. “If I do this,” he said, “if I do this, I want to chose my own stories, I want to write them and I want to pick my own crew.”

“Done,” I said, suddenly getting very excited.

“And, I don’t quit my handy man job.”

  “OK,” I agreed.

“Most important,” he said and looked me in the eyes.

“Yes?” I said wondering what his final demand would be.

“Most important... You be patient with me.” He was very serious and I felt a spark of joy in my chest.

“Of course. Always.” He kissed me and I held him for a long time. “Wait a minute,” I suddenly said, “seven out of ten?” He laughed that wonderful, surprising laugh.

  ***

Ten days later we were on set. He was doing a piece about building patio gardens out of old tires. It didn’t seem like it would be much of a segment but, I didn’t want to push him. The set was dead quiet when we started to roll. Everyone was thrilled, awed to have Gabriel back in front of the camera. The segment started and... he was perfect. I got lost watching him fill a tire with soil, with seeds... It was so simple, but he made it seem like the most joyful thing in the world. When we wrapped for the day he disappeared. I finished up my work and went down to his workroom, but he wasn’t there.

“Did you see Gabriel?” I asked Cassey when I saw her in front of my office.

“He left like, right after we wrapped.” My hart sank. “He was so good, wasn’t he?”she said.

“Yes,” I said, feeling a mixture of joy and sadness, “he really was.” I walked to my car and noticed that his car was already gone. He must have run fast. I drove home, worried that I had pushed him too far and pushed him away. I parked and walked to my apartment. There, on the front stoop, was Gabriel.

“Did you watch it?” he asked, obviously nervous.

“Yes, I did,” I told him and sat beside him on the stairs.

  “And?”

“And, it was very, very good.” I assured him, truthfully. “I’d give it a solid seven out of ten.” He smiled and hugged me. We sat on the stairs as the sun sunk away. I had my head on his shoulder, we said nothing for some time.

  “Thank you,” he said, finally.

“For what?” I asked, really not knowing what he would have to thank me for.

“For saving me. I guess I needed a little saving more than I knew.”

“My pleasure,” I said and I kissed him. The sun set and we didn’t move.

  Last Resort

Becca watched Rafael apply the crushed material to her nails, “Sparkles Rafael? When I said I wanted to look younger, I didn’t mean twelve.”

“Becca, this is crushed diamonds. I wouldn’t charge that price for mere sparkles. Besides, that’s just tacky.”

She cocked an eyebrow, “I just thought you were price gouging.”

“For you, I would never gouge. Although, I’ve been hearing some young men have been doing some gouging when it comes to you.”

Becca’s eyes widened as she hissed, “What have you heard?”

Making a zipping sound, he grinned as his hand slid across his pressed together lips. She squinted her eyes at him, “I will bug you relentlessly.”

Her mind flitted over her impending vacation. After her employees had rallied around, lectured, and then pushed her into taking a break; she was ready to live a little.

Since opening four additional Basement Treasures, the businesses had taken off beyond anything she'd imagined. The look on his face made her full attention focus back onto him as Rafael, the owner of the salon, suddenly leaned forward and said in a low voice, “So you're finally going to Last Resort?”

Surprised at his knowledge, her jaw sagged before she started to shake her head. He grinned knowingly, “Macy's son was just home from college, huh? And how was his friend, Randy?”

On a loud puff of air, Becca sighed, “Too fast.”

Rafael's grin widened as he nodded, “You probably don't know this but Macy visited Last R
esort about a year ago. Rumor has it she was with a different guy each night.”

At Becca's widening eyes, Rafael's voice dropped lower, “I hear she had bruised knees...and not from praying.”

Becca burst out laughing. Macy was the most pious woman Becca knew. She'd always said that one day Macy would drown from the morning mist because she kept her nose in the air while jogging. After she'd reigned in her laughter enough to speak, she said, “Thanks, Rafael. I needed that.”

Switching hands, he went on to tell her the areas to avoid as well as the hot spots but warned, “Be careful. Some of those young guys are looking for a rich older woman to latch onto.”

Cocking an eyebrow, she grinned, “Might be exciting. Depends on where they latch onto.”

He gasped, “Ooooh, Becca. That kind of naughty thinking will get you in trouble.”

“Isn't that why I'm going to Last Resort...a little trouble?”

Making a tsk-tsk sound in his throat, he finished her left hand and told her the diamond gloss was fast-drying but to avoid heavy contact for the next few minutes. Once she'd settled the bill, tipping him generously, she headed home for her luggage and to make sure she'd secured everything.

With one last call to her manager, which granted her impatient reassurance that everything would be fine, Becca was on her way to the airport. Settling on the flight, she studied the pamphlet once again before drifting off to sleep. The touch to her shoulder from a flight attendant brought her around.

Groggy and disoriented, she was surprised when a youngish man, possibly in his thirties, offered to grab her carry-on bag. As they departed the jet, he told her, “My name's Leo.”

Taking the hand he'd thrust out, she said, “Mine's Becca. Nice to meet you.”

Spotting the pamphlet sticking out from her purse, he grinned, “I'm in room 28B.”

Her eyebrows rose, “Same section as me. I'm in 25B.”

With sparkling eyes so blue she assumed they were false contact lenses, he asked, “Join me for dinner tonight, Becca?”

While marveling at the way her name rolled off his tongue, she nodded, “Sounds good. Have you ever stayed here before?”

Dimples appeared in his cheeks as he admitted, “It's been a couple of years.”

Trying to guess his age, she asked, “And how old were you then?”

Laughing, he said, “Thirty-nine. Am I too old for you, Becca?”

Her jaw dropped before she shook her head, “Not if you're single.”

He laughed harder while nodding, “Yeah, I'm single. I don't know many that would hazard coming to Last Resort if they weren’t single.”

They arrived at her room where he said, “Let me just drop my things off in my room and I'll...”

Taking a chance at the heated look on his face, she interrupted and offered, “Why don't you just deposit them in my room. I think we both know where this is going. After all, this place does have a reputation.”

Showing no surprise at her offer, he nodded, “I can do that. Is your room equipped with a hot tub?”

Tilting her head, her mouth twisted as she said, “Of course. It’s a suite with an exercise room too.”

Cocking an eyebrow, he nodded, “Very good. What may I ask, Becca, do you do for a living?”

Hesitating as she remembered Rafael’s warning, she shrugged, “Business owner. What about you?”

“Same. What’s the name of your business?”

  “Basement Treasures. Yours?”

Shock slammed his face, “Wait a minute. Are you Rebecca Gibson?”

Her eyes widened as she nodded. He thrust a hand out, “Leonard Blake of Blake’s Polishes”

She gasped at the name of the man she’d spoken with so many times over the phone but never met. He laughed at her expression, “Damn small world after all, huh?”

Her face reddened as she cringed, “Oh my God! I just propositioned a client. Leave it to me. We cannot do this, Mr…um…Leo.”

He immediately stepped forward and tipped her chin up, “I don’t see why not. Both of us are adults. I rather like the idea of sharing my vacation with an acquaintance, albeit within the business realm, verses some youngster that I have to shed once I leave here.”

Her breath froze in her lungs for an instant as she realized the blue was his true eye color. Wrinkling her nose, she said, “Yeah, I was wondering about what I’d do if some young guy got too clingy.”

“Now you just have to worry about me getting clingy.” At her stunned look, he assured her, “I’m forty-one, Becca, I think I can control myself.”

She didn’t state her age but he didn’t seem to care as he deliberately invaded her space. Nodding, she motioned to her room, “Okay. You’re located not far from me, too, right? Aren’t you in Miami?”

He nodded, “I am. I always wanted to visit your shop but never worked up the nerve. You always sounded so sexy on the phone. I never expected someone so beautiful to match that voice, though.”

She emitted a throaty laugh, “Aren’t you just smooth.”

They placed their bags on the sofa as they both wandered toward the deck. She glanced back to find him admiring her ass instead of the view. Not expecting to run into someone closer to her age, she asked, “Have you ever been married, Leo?”

He nodded as a shadow crossed his face, “I lost her five years ago in a car accident.”

Becca’s heart almost stopped. Goose bumps flooded her arms as she nodded, “Lost mine three years ago to cancer.”

His gaze shot to hers as understanding hung in the air between them before she breathed, “Never leaves, does it? The pain.”

Shaking his head, he said, “No…it doesn’t. Did you take over the business after your husband’s death?”

Nodding, she said with remorse, “I was quite a shopaholic before he died.”

“Is this your first time here?”

With a thoughtful tilt of her head, she said, “It took me two years before I finally was able to look at another man.”

He motioned toward the deck, “Do you want to order room service? Maybe use the hot tub later?”

“Sounds great. If I remember correctly, my late husband owed you a large bill that you were very patient with while I settled.”

He nodded, “I remember him but I don’t remember speaking with you before…”

Becca shook her head, “I was too busy shopping and spending money that I thought we had. Theo never told me how deeply in debt we were. I found out afterward. It still depresses me that I was so ignorant.”

“From what I gather, Becca, you built that business into something he’d be proud of. You should feel good about that.”

Smiling, she nodded and didn’t back away when he stopped in front of her. Launching into sex with someone that had known and spoken with her late husband was completely new territory which he seemed to sense. When he started to back away, she quickly reached out, “Don’t. It’s time I got past all that and moved forward. I’m glad you’re here, okay?”

He nodded, studying her face as she slid her arms around his neck and tentatively kissed him. The moment her lips met his, she relaxed in his arms and sighed against his cheek. Taking that for a positive, he deepened it and let her know by the pressure of his hips what effect she had on him. Becca realized the familiarity and closeness of age were factors that she’d missed.

She grown weary of previous exploits while having the term ‘cougar’ used by the younger men she’d grown accustomed to seeing. Leo seemed to read her mind and knew exactly what she wanted without pawing his way into the action. Even though she wanted him to take it further than just a kiss, though, he broke it and backed away, “Plenty of time for that after we eat.”

Already liking his style, she grinned, “How long are you vacationing?”

  “A week. How about you?”

“Same.” They fell into talking about similarities with work until he thrust a menu at her, “I don’t know about you but I’m starving.”

Since she hadn’t eaten since breakfast, she nodded and pointed out what she liked. To her surprise, he liked the same foods. Tilting his head, he asked, “What’s your favorite color?”

  “Blue.”

He grinned and shot another question at her. As their similarities in tastes added up, he made a game out of it. Every time something was found that they didn’t have in common, which was less than what they did, he kissed her. By the time he’d asked everything he could think of, he’d progressed to kissing her neck.
