“I really like you Jeff.”
I smiled. “Good, we are on the same page.”
Lindsay peeled my suit jacket from my body.
Massaging her breast, my tongue slithered along the rim of her ear. Lindsay slid my boxers below my waist. I guided my boxers down my legs dropping them onto the floor. I leaned over the side of the bed retrieving a condom from my back pants pocket. Lindsay smiled, snatching the condom from my grip, sliding it down my cock. My lips fell against hers as my fingers slipped within her wet pussy. Lindsay spread her legs, pulling me closer to her if that was at all possible.
“Fuck me,” she moaned.
“Yeah, you think you can take all this?” I asked stroking my dick.
“Let’s see.”
Lindsay guided my dick into her slick hole. Working my hips fast then slow, my hand slipped into her hair gripping it tight, as our lips remained connected.
“Fuck me harder!”
“Yeah, you want it harder?”
I sat up on my knees, gripping her thighs, fucking her hard.
“Shit Jeff, you feel so good! I’m cumming,” she screamed.
Quickening my pace, I slammed into her wet pussy until I came hard. Dropping her legs on the bed, I fell against her, breathing hard in her ear.
I flipped Lindsay on top of me. She dosed off into a deep sleep. I held her in my arms pondering on what I wanted out of life. Not much. I wanted my own company and a family.
~
Lindsay and I dated for close to two years. During our second year of dating she became pregnant with our son Dillon. Marriage would come sooner than later because I felt it was only right we tied the knot before he was born. Lindsay wasn’t happy about walking across the stage pregnant to receive her degree. I told her I wanted to marry her. If I didn’t, there’s no way I would have had sex with her unprotected. Of course, she told me she was on the pill. Not sure why she stopped taking it. Did she think I was talking shit about marrying her just to hear myself talk?
~
I stood gazing out the window over-looking the lake at the Sawyers Estate.
“Jeff! How are you doing?” Mr. Sawyer, boasted as he entered his Study.
I turned shaking his hand. “I’m doing fine sir.”
“How are you doing today Mr. Sawyer?”
“I’m well. However, I understand you have more pressing issues at hand.”
“Yes.”
“Have a seat.”
Nervously I sat.
“What’s on your mind Jeff?” He asked sitting behind his desk.
“I’m going to get right to it.” I leaned forward in my chair.
“I would like to ask for Lindsay’s hand in marriage.”
His eyebrows rose. “Are you asking because you got her pregnant?”
I ran my hand over my hair.
“No sir. She and I discussed marriage before her pregnancy.” I cleared my throat attempting to swallow the lump taking over my airway.
“Lindsay getting pregnant was not a part of the plan right now, but it doesn’t matter because I love her.”
Mr. Sawyer smiled. Standing to his feet his hand stretched out for mine. “Jeff, you have me and my wife’s blessing!”
I stood, smiling, shaking his hand. “Thank you, sir!”
What I missed most was family. Starting my own family felt invigorating.
CHAPTER ELEVEN
JEFF
Our wedding present from her family was $100,000 toward the purchase of our first house. I don’t believe in handouts. Even though it wasn’t a loan I planned to pay them back once we were stable.
My mother sends $50k to an off-shore account every year. I was only to access the money after college graduation. Luckily, the account was in my new name we developed together. I used some of the funds to start my business. I withdrew $100k. Even though I have a lot more money in that account, I didn’t want people asking questions. I had to pretend to struggle financially. Taking money from my mother was different than receiving funds from my father-in-law.
Technically I’m worth millions. At the age of eighteen, my first Trust fund payout was supposed to be $500k. At age twenty-one another $500k, and at the age of twenty-five my last payment was going to be $10 million dollars. That’s years of dirty fucking money passed down from generation to generation.
Modest is how I planned for us to live, but her father wouldn’t stand for it. He said it would tarnish his image. I wanted to tell him fuck his image this was our life. He insisted on paying our hefty mortgage payment until my company brought in enough money. Taking money from my off-shore account and paying him back was what I wanted to do, but I swallowed my pride and pretended to be broke. That meant clearing payroll, covering expenses, supplies, and enough money left over to save.
Two and a half years later I was able to take over paying my mortgage payment.
So many times, I felt inferior. I wanted to go back to my family and live the mafia life. Things would come easy for me because of my name. This wasn’t the first time I felt like this. When I first moved to Portland, I wanted to go home. Being rich one day then living modest the next hardens you quick. Not that I didn’t already have a tough exterior, this was a different kind of tough.
Did I bring a little of my family’s ethics into the way I did business? Just a little.
You work for me and think you’re going to slack off, you have another thing coming. Those who performed shitty on my job site got fired. When they attempted to apply for a job with another construction company they couldn’t get hired. I fucking tarnished their name. Word got around that if you decide to work for me you better be ready to give it your all or you would never work in Portland again. Needless to say, I had one of the best work crews in Portland. I chuckled.
After Dillon was born Lindsay started hanging out in the clubs. I was working sixty hours a week, so I wasn’t home that often to help with the baby. Sometimes I would get in after 6:30 in the evening. The house would be dark. She and the baby wouldn’t be there. She’d leave a note on the fridge saying they were at her parents. I figured she just wanted to be around her family. The fourth time this happened I awoke around 9 p.m., after dosing off. I decided this had gone on long enough.
~
After arriving at my in-law’s house, I noticed Lindsay’s car was in the driveway. Once inside the house, the Butler announced my presence. Her mother Marsha appeared from the family room carrying Dillon.
“Hi. Where is Lindsay?”
“Hello Jeff. She went out with friends.”
My jaw twitched from the anger brewing within.
“Is that what she does when she comes here with my son?”
“Now Jeff, Lindsay is cooped up in that house and just needs to go out sometimes.”
“All due respect Marsha, she goes out every weekend on Friday and Saturday now she’s adding Thursday to the list!”
Her mouth dropped open. “Jeff, I had no idea.”
“Can you keep Dillon tonight? I’m going to get Lindsay.”
“Sure.”
~
After scouring two night clubs, I found her. Lindsay appeared drunk, arms dangling from a man’s neck on the dance floor. Snatching her up, I threw her over my shoulder.
“Hey what the fuck are you doing man?”
Lindsay yelled, “Put me down!”
I shoved the man. “Back the fuck off! She’s my wife!”
The man placed his hands up. “Sorry man. I didn’t know.”
Once in the truck, my arm shielded me from the blows Lindsay delivered.
“You are never home! All you do is work! I’m there with our son day in and day out. I hate you!”
Reaching out, I gripped her arms, holding her firm in her seat. “I provide for you and our son so you can have the life you deserve!”
“What life is that? Being a house wife?”
“Lindsay, if you want to work, just say so. I will hire a Nanny.”
“I don’t wan
t to work yet, but I want help with the baby.”
Releasing her arms, my fingers clutched the steering wheel. I knew we couldn’t afford a nanny, but I was trying to keep the peace in my home.
As time went on, Lindsay would leave with her friends for the night and wouldn’t return to the next day. The Nanny was living with us part time. Many weekends, I wasn’t able to rest, I searched the streets for my wife.
Kyle ran the business alone sometimes while I took care of my son on days the Nanny wasn’t working. Between trying to run my business and hold my family together; I was struggling. I didn’t know how to fix things.
One day, I took it upon myself to follow my wife. Hopped up on caffeine, I sat in the back of a club watching Lindsay from the shadows. Lindsay danced with her friends. She stopped, glancing down at her cell. She whispered in her friend Asia’s ear.
Asia nodded, then Lindsay darted out. I was right behind her. Ten minutes later she was standing outside a tour bus, behind the music theater. The second Blake appeared out the back door of the theater, she ran into his arms. My jaw tensed as I stared at them from a distance. Questions ran through my mind. How long has this been going on? Has she been seeing him the entire time we have been together?
If I go over there now, I will snap his neck and lose everything. Frozen in place, I watched as they climbed onto the tour bus together. Thirty minutes later, he walked her to her car, kissing her goodbye. My thoughts slipped back to how I would handle this if I was in Jersey, let’s just say they’d never find his body. Owning a construction company gives me access to equipment that would chop his ass up into little pieces then bury him underneath the property we are building on.
~
I sat in the darkened dining room waiting for Lindsay.
She strolled in after 2:30 a.m.
“Lindsay.” I turned on the light.
She entered the dining room. “What are you doing up?”
Taking a deep breath, I tried to keep my cool. “Have you been seeing him the entire time we have been married?”
Her eyes narrowed. “What are you talking about Jeff?”
“Blake!” I roared.
“I haven’t seen Blake. I don’t know what you are talking about,” she yelled running her fingers through her hair.
I rose meeting her half way. “Bullshit! I watched you run to him behind the music theater.”
I pointed my finger toward her. “Answer one question. Why did you marry me?”
“Don’t do this,” she cried.
“No, answer me!”
She fell to her knees. “I’ve known Blake since I was sixteen. We were together in secret. My father found out and drove us apart. I see Blake when he comes in town from time to time. We get high, amongst other things,” her teary eyes met mine.
Tightly, I ran my hands over my head, in disbelief.
“Is Dillon mine?”
She stood to her feet, wrapping her arms around my neck. “Yes.”
I yanked her arms back. Tears burned the back of my eyes. “I will sleep in one of the guestrooms.”
For six months, I slept down the hall. Lindsay, became the perfect wife. She was always home taking care of our son, only left the house to go to her parents or to the grocery store. We felt like a family again. My son being two years old now, I couldn’t see breaking my family apart.
One night, Lindsay came into my room, sitting next to me on the bed. “I’m sorry for being a terrible wife. Can we please start over? I love you.”
My eyes stared into hers a tad longer. Lindsay’s lips crashed into mine. I hated myself for being blinded to what went on behind my back all this time and I hated loving her regardless of her cheating ways. What was it about her? Was it because she was my first love? At that very moment, I didn’t want to let her go. I wanted our family to be a strong unit.
Pulling her underneath, me, I slipped her panties off and my large cock found her warmth. Our lips collided over and over again. No matter the bullshit my wife put me through, I loved her.
CHAPTER TWELVE
JEFF
Nine months later, Lily was born. My company was becoming one of the most requested to build new developments. We hired more employees, in an effort to keep up with demand.
Finally, I was able to pay my father-in-law back the past mortgage payments. Things were going quite well, Kyle was meeting with the press often. It felt good making our first million. Damn good!
After work one night, I came home to the Nanny feeding the children.
“Hello Robin. Is Lindsay here?”
“No, she’s been gone for a few hours.”
I smirked, holding two-year-old Lily in my arms.
I placed Lily on her feet. “Robin, I’ll be back soon.”
“Ok.”
I did a little research, found out Blake was playing a venue intown. Following my gut, I waited until the show was over. Through the back door, his band mates walked out one by one, strolling into the tour bus. Blake followed holding Lindsay’s hand. Sitting up, back straight, I watched in horror as my wife accompanied him onto the bus again. I blacked out. Stalking toward the bus, I banged on the door until it opened. Pushing some guy aside, I barged onto the dimly lit bus.
“Lindsay! Lindsay!” I shouted ripping back bed curtains.
I found my wife naked on top of Blake.
“Hey man. What the fuck are you doing?”
I stood back a bit, scowl across my face. “What the fuck am I doing?”
I snatched him out of the bed dropping him to the floor, pounding his face with my fist.
“You’ve been fucking my wife! She’s not yours! You piece of shit!”
Lindsay called out my name begging me to stop.
“Jeff, stop!”
“It’s not his fault. It’s mine,” she cried.
My hand still gripped his neck, nostrils flared, I gawked at her. I was in shock, humiliated, and hurt. I needed to remember she was still the mother of my children before I snapped her neck too.
“What!”
I remember the band members pulling me off Blake. His face was bloody and busted up.
“I’m in love with Blake! I always have been.” She clutched the sheet around her small frame.
Blankly, I stared at her. My fingers gripping my brown locks tight. I struggled to breath, I was beyond pissed.
Lindsay fell to the floor in tears.
“Get the fuck out of here before I press charges!” Blake yelled, spitting up blood.
I snapped out of my cloudy gaze, my eyes shot back over to him.
“You fucking do that! Make sure you tell them you were fucking another man’s wife!”
My burning eyes fell on Lindsay, one last time. “You can stay here with this piece of shit! We are done!”
I stormed off the bus.
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
LINDSAY
I don’t understand why I would throw away something so good. Jeff truly loved me. He would have walked to the ends of the earth for me. Leaving Blake alone was difficult.
I remembered at the age of sixteen, I was playing tennis with a friend. A tall heart throb with piercing blue eyes walked pass the tennis court staring at me. His white tennis shirt collar was flipped up. His long blonde hair was slicked back. A few girls surrounded him. My eyes turned back to my friend who was just about to serve the ball.
“Asia, he is hot. Do you know him?”
“Yes, he’s my brother’s best friend. I try to ignore him. Ever since I could remember, he’s always been over my house. He just signed a big music contract. You might as well turn your eyes back this way because he always has too many girls fighting for his attention. He’s also nineteen going on twenty.
She was right. She would know. I never glanced at him again. After the game Asia and I showered.
We stood curbside waiting for valet to pull her car around.
A car stopped in front of us. “Hello Asia, who’s your friend?” He stared at me, from behind his d
ark shades sitting in the driver seat of his candy apple red Porsche.
“Hi and bye Blake!”
“Not so fast,” he said, sliding his sunglasses down his nose.
“What’s your name beautiful?”
My stomach did cartwheels. “Lindsay.”
“Hop in Lindsay.”
I smiled. “I can’t do that.”
“Sure, you can. Asia will cover for you. Won’t you Asia?”
She folded her arms. “I will do no such thing!”
“Not even for four concert tickets?”
I glared at Asia, begging her with my brown eyes to take the offer.
“Yeah, ok.”
I smiled as I walked toward his car. Glancing back at Asia, I mouthed thank you.
Blake whisked me off. We sat at the neighborhood ice cream shop, getting acquainted.
“Do you have a boyfriend Lindsay?”
“No.”
“Any boys ask you to go out?”
I smiled. “Yes, all the time. I’ve been thinking about dating Trevor. He’s the captain of the basketball team. But I don’t know,” I stated flipping my long red hair behind my ear.
“Why, does it matter who I date? Asia, told me you recently singed a music contract.”
A devilish smile curled the ends of his lips. “So, you asked about me.”
“Well yeah. You were staring at me. Look, I’m only sixteen. I don’t know why you want to talk to me.”
“You’re the first girl who didn’t run over to me. Maybe I find that attractive.”
After swallowing my mint ice cream, my eyes searched his face.
“Are you on the road a lot?”
“Yeah. I don’t get to come home to Portland that often.”
“Where do you live?”
“I live here for now, but I’m supposed to move to California. I’m on a short vacation before my concert here next Friday. Will you be my guest?”
Dropping my eyes, staring at my empty bowl, I pondered on his question.
“Sure.”
∞
Every day that week I spent time with Blake. At a nearby lake he serenaded beautiful songs to me. It was romantic. I was envied by all the girls in my school. They couldn’t wait to gossip about Blake seeing several different women once he moved to California.
