“Fine,” he said. “I’ll send you back to Aeculus Castle.”

With a clap of his hand, a blinding white light appeared. As he extended his palms outward, the flame grew higher until it encased me. The Angel muttered something under his breath and the light flickered. Then it vanished, taking me with it.

Once again, I stood inside the iced walls of my own bedroom. All my lavish belongings lay where I’d left them, undisturbed. The familiar temperature was cold enough I could see my breath. I inhaled and the smell of frost permeated my nose.

  I was home.

  Now I would wait.

All that mattered now was for Sidelle to forgive me.

No matter how long it takes for time to pass, we will be together.

  Acknowledgements

Thank you to my family and to all the friends who continue to support me through this whirlwind and crazy journey. Your encouragements means the world to me.

A very special thank you to my beta readers: Jennie and Angela.

To all my writer friends I’ve made throughout the years!

To Writer’s Block and The Loft Literary YA Writing Group who shared their wisdom and experiences with me: thank you.

To my critique partners: Ann, Maria, and Kristi for providing insight.

To my fantastic editors: Genevieve Graham and Jen Leigh. You helped me create better sentences, better scenes, and deeper characters. You assisted me in creating a magical world by getting the right words to fly off the pages.

Thank you to Marya. And it’s because of your fantastic cover that Finn’s story made it to paperback!

And lastly, to my husband. Without your support, none of it would be a reality.

  Thank You!!!

  About the Author

Kristin D. Van Risseghem grew up in a small river town in Minnesota with my parents and older sister. And after receiving a double Bachelor of Science degree from Winona State University in Paralegal and Corrections, she worked as a Paralegal for various law firms around the Twin Cities for 14 years. Then she left the legal field and is now a Senior Buyer for a technology company.

Currently, Kristin lives with her husband and 2 Calico cats. She also loves attending book clubs, going shopping, and hanging out with friends. She has come to realize that she absolutely has an addiction to purses and shoes. They are her weakness and probably has way too many of both.

In the summer months, Kristin can usually be found lounging on her boat, drinking an ice cold something. Being an avid reader of YA and Women’s Literature stories, she still finds time to read a ton of books in-between writing. And in the winter months, her main goal is to stay warm from the Minnesota cold!

  Dear Reader,

I hope you enjoyed The Prince, a Betrayal, & a Kiss. I have to tell you, I love the characters of Zoe and Shay. Though many beta readers and critique partners telling me: “What about Kieran?” Well, stay tuned because his story isn’t over. Kieran will have his own Novella. How did he become the bossy Guardian Angel?

When I wrote The Enlighten Series I received many comments from readers thanking me for sharing Zoe’s journey. Some had an opinion about her and Shay, while others rooted for Kieran. As an author, I love feedback! Candidly, you are the reason that I will explore Kieran’s story. So tell me what you liked, what you loved, and even what you hated. I’d love to hear from you. You can write me at [email protected], visit me on the web at www.KristinVanRisseghem.com, follow me on Twitter @KVanRisseghem, and like my Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/pages/Kristin-D-Van-Risseghem-Author to keep updated on the Enlighten Series.

And for all of you who are writing, I encourage you to keep at it. Keep going and looking ahead. You can do it! Find beta readers and critique partners, and join writing groups. If some aren’t working out, don’t be afraid to search out new ones. I found a slew of writers on Facebook, Twitter, and Meetup. These people will help you with your writing because … well, let’s face it, your friends and family just won’t get what you’re talking about if they aren’t writers. Surround yourself with the people who are ‘in the know’ and who will understand what you mean when you say WIP, or MS, or ARC.

Finally, I need to ask a favor. If you’re so inclined, I’d love you to write a review of The Prince, a Betrayal, & a Kiss. Loved it, hated it – I just enjoy your feedback. As you may have gleaned from my book, reviews can be tough to come by these days. You, the reader, have the power to make or break a book. If you have the time, here’s the link to my author page on Amazon. Please leave a review.

Thank you so much for reading The Prince, a Betrayal, & a Kiss, and for spending time with me.

  Sincerely,

  Kristin D. Van Risseghem, Author
