Bed Of Lies Page 4

by King, Dean

Rafe advanced on her, he wanted to believe her. He didn't know a lot about her, he left the employees to his senior staff. She stared defiantly at him, but the rapid fluttering of her shirt over her heart gave her away. She didn't belong here, not in this corrupt place. He hoped she was afraid. He saw the slight tremor in her lower lip just before she bit it. Hopefully this is a lesson she'll never forget. He thought with grim resolve.

“I know what you want,” he said in slow deliberate tones. “I’ll give it to you. But go ahead, keep it up. I like the shy act. I’m rock hard already.” She stood under the amber glow of the room’s low lights. One was directly above her, like a spotlight while she was on stage. Her caramel skin was now chalky, her eyes bulged as she looked for a way out. Rafe wanted to laugh as her eyes flew to his crotch as if to see for herself.

“Listen to me, you pervert!” He was quick to note the desperation in her tone. “I’m not here for this! You have to let me go!” Her voice high, she inched towards the door her hands flat on the wall behind her.

“Oh, I’ll let you go alright. Right after you take down that hair of yours.” He didn't know where that came from. In that instant he realized how very much he wanted to see her without that big bun at the back of her head. He wanted to see it close up instead of through the security monitors. Then he could tell Clem if she was worth all the worshiping or not. It was an easy way out for both of them. He'd scared her enough. It was over, he was sure she'd never come back here.

Nina froze, her eyes deep with uncertainty. “If I take down my hair, you’ll let me go?” She was jolted by an unexpected mixture of disappointment and elation.

“Yes.” Was all he said, his voice steady, and from what she could see of his face was he was being truthful. He was standing at the foot of the bed, his feet spread wide, and his arms crossed over his broad chest.

She bit her lower lip, and watched him for any sign of treachery. Still unsure, she tried to judge the distance between where he stood and the closed door. I’ll never make it. Fear clogged her throat. Swallowing hard she looked at him again, “You're going to let me go, right?” She asked not fully trusting him.

Rafe felt a tug on his heart, she was genuinely distressed. “Yes, I’ll let you go,” he'd do more than that, he'd walk her out the front door and tell her to never come back.

With jerky movements she reached up, and tugged at the pins that held her hair. Not once did she take her eyes from him.

He couldn’t understand it. Watching the soft material of her white blouse stretch across her full breasts as she lifted her arms excited him to no end. Her pale gold lips, devoid of lipstick, were slightly parted. Her small pink tongue shot out moistening them. Those lips seemed to beg for his kiss, but he said he'd let her go and that was what he would do.

Nina let her hair fall around her shoulders, and shook it out, then she said. “There,” her hands at her sides, she stared at him. She held her breath to control her pain, and confusion. Even in a place like this no one wants me. The thought hurt even as her mind rejoiced. It proved what the Nuns told her all her life. Sin oozed from her; it was in the way she walked, it sparkled in her eyes and all who looked upon her knew it. She'd corrupt all who dared to touch her. Did he feel it? Could he see it? Is that why he’s letting me go? The thought crushed her. Maybe she was in the right place. All sinners belonged together. Her eyes burned and stung, she knew in her heart that wasn't true. They were wrong. She wasn't a sinner, not like this. But a fierce need to touch and be touched wouldn't go away, and it frightened her.

Rafe nodded, satisfied, “Good, you have very pretty hair.” It was an understatement. Her hair hung in reddish brown waves to the center of her back. It glistened under the low lights, full bouncy curls danced with her every movement. He was totally enchanted.

“Can I go now?” Her eyes pulled him to her.

“Yes,” he stepped aside, his hands behind his back.

Stiffly, Nina swallowed; she hesitated for just a moment then walked purposely past him. Her head held high, she tried to stay as far from him as possible.

When she was close, Rafe gave a sharp bark of laughter and grabbed her around her slender waist. He tossed her back on the bed. She screamed, taken by surprise. This time he fell with her. Catching both her hands in one of his, he held them over her head. He lay half covering her squirming body, staring into her furious eyes. He sucked in his breath unable to believe what he was seeing. Her eyes were the color of new green leaves! Why didn’t I notice before? “Now, my pretty,” he murmured. “Where were we?”

“You liar!” she screamed. “You said you'd let me go!” Nina bucked her hips trying to dislodge him, her heart raced with apprehension.

“You can’t be serious!” Rafe scoffed. “Anyway, what of it? In this place anything goes and I find I like this game you’re playing.” Rafe lay to the side of her, one leg tossed over hers to keep her still. He’d fully intended to let her walk by him and out that door. But the moment she was in range the urge to grab her had been overwhelming, surprising even himself. “Be yourself, let me show you how it feels to be loved,” his tone was hushed but the sensual caress in it couldn’t be missed and she couldn’t stop the shiver that raced through her whole body.

Rafe noticed, and his body tightened, he ran a finger down the front of her shirt from her heaving chest to her belly button. “This is no place for little girls. If you are really afraid then you shouldn’t have come.” His blunt fingertip traced the outer edge of her moist quivering lips. “I know what you’re saying is part of our little game. It makes me crazy!” He held in a chuckle as she gave a frighten squeak and turned her face from him.

“I didn’t know what this place was about,” she whispered turning to face him. “My friend brought me here by mistake. She said it would be fun.”

“It will be.” He trailed small kisses across her chin until finally he came to her trembling lips. Excitement surged through him. Nibbling, he slowly coaxed, until they opened like a spring blossom for the morning sun. Then he was drinking of her sweetness, kissing her as if this were his last. Rafe released her hands and parted her shirt with one hand, he traced patterns down her neck to the opening of her blouse between her heaving breasts and stopped. To his great pleasure shivers raced through her and her eyes closed. Then her long fingers buried themselves in his hair, holding him close. He lifted his head, and broke the kiss, his own breathing was beginning to come in pants as his body took over. He looked into her drowsy eyes. “Do you really want me to stop?” Her soft green gaze clashed with his heated stare, and he willed her to say no, he wanted her to stay in his arms forever. “Just say the word and its over. I’ll let you go.”

Nina bit her lower lip, uncertain of what to do. She stared at him, her heart pounding with the need to stay in his arms. “Will you really let me go?” He had eyes that said he could be trusted, then her eyes traveled to his lips and she couldn’t believe how her body was responding to his.

“Yes, I will, though I don't want to,” Rafe let go of her and sat up, as a sign of good faith he held up his hands. “You have my word as a gentleman.” He shook his head. “I don’t want to let you go, I want you to stay right where you are and let us both enjoy this night, but if you say no, then you are free to go.”

She leaned up on her elbows, her eyes steady on his. “I've never done anything like this before,” she whispered, biting her lower lip, her fingers tugging at the comforter under them.

“I believe you.” Unable to help himself, he leaned over her, pressing light kisses down her throat. She squirmed and fell back to the bed, breathless.

“I don't think this is right,” she panted for breath against the unrelenting struggle raging within her. Her hands wrapped in his shirt pulling him closer even as her words sought to push him away.

“Its right,” he breathe against her moist lips, staring into her emerald eyes. “It's very right.”

  “But I don't know,” she
said in a small voice her eyes roaming what she could see of his face.

“Do you want me to stop?” He asked again, this time with more force. His molten silver eyes drilled into her glowing emerald gaze.

She leaned up on her elbows again, her lips bare millimeters from his. “God forgive me,” she whispered, her gaze caressing his hard features, “but I don't want you to stop.”

Rafe closed his eyes, her words were music to his ears. His body throbbed with the fierce need to have her. Inhaling her delicate fragrance, he leaned over her and pushed her back to the bed. With the tip of his tongue he traced patterns down her sweet neck to the opening of her blouse. He whispered, “Tomorrow you can pretend this never happened. No attachments, no involvements, no irritating phone calls and no clingy partners. Just pure clean fun whenever you want it.”

Nina shivered as the tip of his warm tongue ran along her collarbone. Am I dreaming? This man is perfect, I must be dreaming. Gently he nipped at her burning skin. Her body reacted violently to his. Need such as she’d never known welled within her. Lean and hard, his heat clouded her mind. The clean masculine scent of him filled her entire being. Her blood boiled as she took his lips turning the tables on him, she gave him her all. Her hands crept up around his broad shoulders caressing the muscles that rippled with his every movement. She suckled his tongue into her mouth as one leg curled around his hips trying to pull him closer.

“I can do this,” she whispered between kisses. “It’s okay. I can do this.” It was a sigh from deep within her. The shame of it all would be there, she knew. But she would deal with that later. Right now she focused on him and this craziness bombarding her senses.

With his free hand, Rafe unbuttoned her blouse to expose her white cotton bra. His eyes fell to her heaving golden beauty and all thought stopped. Dark caramel skin glowed in the faint light. His blood thickened, he lowered his head, tonguing one hard nub through the soft material. Inhaling deeply, he closed his eyes savoring her sweet feminine scent. It was driving him wild. He was hard put to control the moan that threatened to break from his throat. Then her fingers were in his hair, pulling him closer, holding him tight. He forgot everything. He forgot she was an employee, forgot this was just a game, forgot to breathe.

Sliding his fingers into the clasp resting in the valley between her breasts, he flicked it. She spilled out, he took one perfectly formed raspberry nipple between his waiting lips. Loving it tenderly as she thrashed under him. Sliding between her legs, he settled completely on her. Cupping both breasts at once he worked his tongue over them at the same time. Sweet, oh so sweet. His mind raged at the taste of her on his tongue. His lower body pressed into her softness.

Nina jumped. Electricity shot through her, blinding her to everything but this gorgeous man in her arms. Her legs drifted apart to allow him better access. So lost in passion, she never realized he’d removed her panties. Her green skirt was bunched up around her waist and he was sliding deep into her. His big warm hands gripped her buttocks as he pushed into her tightness.

Her mouth fell open, all thought froze at the fullness of him. His thick heaviness had her stretched tight. It wasn't a bad feeling, just shocking after being so long without. The more he moved, the better it felt. Soon she was only conscious of him and what he was doing to her and her body responded like it had never done before. She wrapped her legs around his driving hips and pushed against him. With his every thrust she thrust back, then her head fell back against the pillows and she felt her world spin out of control. Then she cried out for more. “Oh yes, yes, please don’t stop!” She shook her head from side to side and her nails dug into the corded, bunched muscles of his arms and she was pulling his head down. Her greedy lips latched onto his and together they reached for the stars. Nina was beside herself, she held on and the edges of her ears began to burn, her fingers tightened in his open shirt pulling him close. Open mouthed, she kissed him as if there were no tomorrow. Her questing tongue invading his sweet mouth and she moaned at the feel of it. She arched her hips higher to receive all of him, and met him thrust for thrust.

Rafe didn't know how it happened, moreover, he didn’t want to know, and at this point he couldn’t care less. One minute he was enjoying her sweet, gentle kisses, the next he was buried so deep inside her delicious flesh he couldn't think straight. Her canal squeezed, holding him captive with its very tautness. Her soft hands were on his chest, greedy fingers pushing his shirt until it fell from his shoulders. He threw his head back allowing her free reign. Her warm moist mouth on his chest sent tremors through his entire body. She kissed the hard flat plains of his chest, tormenting his nipples, her small cool hands griped and caressed his flexing arms.

Rafe had never felt so masculine, so wildly dominate yet equally dominated by the gentle caress of a woman. He went to his knees, and his starved eyes feasted on the sight of her heaving beauty. His breath caught at the wonder of her. Holding her hips tight, he moved with slow even thrusts. Her long elegant fingers clutched his hands, begging him for release. He leaned over her, spreading her legs even wider with his knees. Desire roared through his head, his body strained and dripped with sweat. He slid deeper into her grasping canal, and the breath rushed from him. His eyes closed in ecstasy, and he bit his tongue to keep from losing himself inside her. The feeling of her was about to send him over the edge. This was something he'd never experienced, and he wanted it to last, he had to hold on, he had to give her more.

He groaned and bent his head to taste her lips again, this wild desperate burning deep in his gut would give him no peace. Almost crazed with lust, he thrust harder and deeper. Sweat beaded on his brow and upper lip as he fought to hold on. Then her body began squeezing him, milking him of every thought but heaven. For the first time in his life, his mind went blank as he touched the stars. Paralyzed for an instant, then his body erupted. Ecstasy rolled over him in angry thrashing waves as he slid over the edge and into oblivion.

Nina sat at her desk listening to Sharon happily go on and on about her weekend. It was Monday, exactly four days since that wild crazy night, when she’d lost her mind. She grimaced, she was still a bit tender in certain places but it was a good feeling. It left her feeling thoroughly loved. It had been wrong for so many reasons. First and foremost, he was a stranger. A handsome one, but a stranger nonetheless. She knew better. She could’ve kicked herself for doing something so stupid. Her thoughts shifted back to him, the man behind the mask. Who was he? Why had he picked me? So many questions needed answers, and yet there were none. There was only this crazy wonderful ache in her heart. She wanted to see him again, wanted to wrap him in her arms and never let him go.

“What is that smile for?” Nina jumped at Sharon’s light comment, and couldn’t look away from the knowing look in her eyes. “You met someone?”

It was said so straightforward she didn’t have time to cover the flush that came rushing to her cheeks. “How did you know?” Nina whispered trying to stall for time.

“You have the glow of new love, tell me…” Sharon covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes wide with amazement.

Concerned, that maybe by some miracle, Sharon already knew. Nina said. “What is it? What were you going to say?”

Sharon moved her hand, and looked down at her lap, then back at Nina. “Well Ms. Nina, I think of you as a friend and most friends share things like this, but I don’t want to over step my bounds. Maybe I’m being to forward.”

Nina was thoughtful for a moment, then whispered. “Close the door.”

Sharon jumped up and closed the door, then hurried back to her chair. “Who is he?”

Nina laughed softly, but it was hesitant, and then her face became somber. She picked up a rubber band and stretched it between her fingers as she wondered how to proceed.

“It’s okay, you don’t have to tell me.” Sharon said as she rose to leave.

“No,” Nina cried, and her hands dropped to lay idle on the desk. “Don’t go
, I need to talk to someone. I need some advice.”

Sharon lifted a thin brow at that. “You want advice from me?”

“I trust you Sharon,” Nina declared, and her fingers began nervously toying with the rubber band she still held. “I did something, but before I tell you, I have to have your word that this will go no further than the two of us.”

“I swear, on all that’s holy.”

Nina took a deep breath and plunged in. “I’m not… well, I mean I don’t have lose morals. I haven’t been on a date in years and I guess I needed to feel alive. It must’ve been a desperate need because I wouldn’t do anything like this unless I was out of my mind.”

Sharon frowned, and leaned forward in her seat. “What do you mean? You did meet someone, right?”

“I did,” Nina hesitated, not sure where to begin. “But I was in the most awful place imaginable. I don’t know who he is. He thought I was there to…well to…”

“To what?” Sharon said slowly, her small head cocked to the side.

“Never mind that,” Nina said in a rushed tone, to embarrassed to tell her everything. “I slept with him.” She whispered and waited, her lower lip pinched between her teeth, but the look on Sharon’s face never changed.

“You slept with a strange man?”

“Yes,” Nina sighed waiting for judgment to fall on her head. “I couldn’t help it, I know that sounds lame but the second I looked into his eyes it was over.” She gave a helpless lift of her shoulders. “I fell into his strong arms.”

“How?” The wonderment in that voice made Nina cringe.

“What do you mean, how?” It was Nina’s turn to frown.

“I mean, didn’t you see his face? Do you know his name?” Baffled Sharon said. “I don’t see how something like that could happen.”
