Ruined: Loving An Alpha Male: BWWM Romance Page 35

by Lessly, S. K.

I stood up and removed my pants and boxers. She watched me under hooded eyes that were dripping with desire. Her sex smelled and tasted amazing, and I knew I wouldn’t last once I got in her. I crawled on top of her, and I felt her hands travel down my back. She spread her legs wide for me. As she reached my ass, she pulled me closer to let me know she didn’t want me to waste any time. I lined up and thrust inside her, hard and quick. She gasped and dug her nails in my ass. I groaned at how wet she was, and hell, how good it felt to be inside her. I moved instantly, looking at her from above her.

“Damn, you feel so fucking good. Open your eyes, baby, and look at me.”

She did, and for the first time in four years, I truly took my time and made love to the woman that has unmanned me in so many ways. I watched my dick move in and out of her and saw her juices on me.

“Damn, baby. I miss this. I miss you. We fit exactly, baby. You belong to me.”

“Yes,” she told me, not moving her eyes from mine.

I swear I almost came… Well, almost. I didn’t want to stop this connection we had. It felt too good. It was amazing and scary at the same time to know that this woman has such a profound effect on me. But I wasn’t ashamed. I needed her, and being with her made me realize how much she needed me.

I moved her legs against my waist to deepen my penetration, but it wasn’t enough. I then moved her legs over my shoulders, and as she backed away slowly, I finally got where I wanted to be. We grinded our bodies together, and I made sure to give her exactly what she wanted for as long as she could take it.

When I finally released, I realized I didn’t put a condom on. But she didn’t ask me to, either. I pulled her close to me and held her body half on mine with her face in my neck. We both were trying to catch our breath. When we finally calmed down, we both drifted off to sleep.

I awoke sometime later with Max still glued to me. I moved her arm from over my chest and tried to cover her up with the blanket I tossed on the floor a little bit ago to get us away from the huge wet spot our body juices had created.

I walked naked to my jacket and fished out my phone. I looked to see that my brother called and left me a few messages, as well as my father and Diane. It was 4 a.m., and I called my brother.

He answered on the third ring, saying simply, “Are you with her?”

“Yes,” I said, in a low voice not wanting to wake Max.

  “How is she?” he asked.

I breathed out. “She’s not good, man. I’m going to stay here for the rest of the night, but I need a favor.”

I walked in her kitchen and looked through her refrigerator and cabinets.

  “Of course… Anything.”

“I’m going to need to go shopping tomorrow. Can you or Marie come over for a little while? I don’t want her left alone.”

  “Yeah, of course. What time?”

I told him around 9 a.m. would be fine.

“Okay, little bro. I got you.”

I paused for a beat and asked, “Have you spoken to AB?”

It was his turn to breathe out.

“Yeah, man. He’s in pieces. He told me Kat was pregnant.”

  “Shit, are you kidding me?”

I closed my eyes. I knew how much AB wanted a family. Hell, when we were kids, we all talked about how many kids we would have and who would have the hottest wife.

“Yeah, man. She was four weeks pregnant, he said. They were going to the doctor in a couple of weeks. She just told him the other day.”

“Damn…okay. Well, I’ll be sure to call him tomorrow, too and go and see him.”

“No, you stay where you are and look after Max. Man, you didn’t see her at the hospital. It scared the shit out of me, Mason. Hell, even AB was concerned. Just call him, okay. I know he’ll understand where you are.”

I nodded at no one and held the phone to my ear.

I said, choking on the emotion that was about to consume me, “Okay, well let me know what’s going on when you see him. I told Cory whatever he needs from us, he has it. But I don’t know if he’s going to ask. We need to make our presence known, so he’s assured of that.”

“I agree. I’ll take care of it tomorrow.”

We said our goodbyes, and I put my phone on the island. I then walked back into the bedroom and crawled next to a still Max. I moved her arm and placed it back along my chest. Then I moved her back against me. She let me move her without a fuss, and I drifted back to sleep.

  ****

I walked back inside the apartment to find Marie cooking. She got here at exactly 9 a.m., and I slipped out for a few hours. I went grocery shopping and even picked myself up a couple pair of shorts, underwear, socks, sneakers, and t-shirts just in case I don’t get a chance to get home. I also bought a shaver, shaving cream, and soap for myself.

“Has she left the bed?” I asked Marie.

“No, I checked on her, and she’s still sleep.”

I nodded and went to grab the rest of the bags from my car.

Marie had made her famous lasagna, and she told me to take it out of the oven in about an hour. When she left, I made a few phone calls and worked a little on my laptop. It was close to noon when I saw Max walk quickly out of her room wrapped in her blanket. I looked up at her wide-eyed, and I stood.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her, wondering if she was hurt or something.

Her eyes fell on mine and finally she said, “I thought you left.”

I walked to her and touched her face lightly. “I’m not going anywhere, okay? Are you hungry? Let me make you a sandwich or something.”

She shook her head. “I’m not hungry.”

I took off my t-shirt and put it on her, removing the blanket. I then moved her to the island and told her to sit down. “I’m going to make you a sandwich.”

  “Mason.” She groaned.

I smiled and looked at her. “Baby, if you don’t want to get violated over the kitchen island you’ll not moan like that again.”

She shook her head and sat at the island. I made her a turkey and ham sandwich, and cut it in half. She tried to keep a smile from creeping up as I set the plate in front of her. I made myself one as well and sat next to her while she ate slowly.

“What time did you get here?” she asked me.

  “Somewhere around 10 p.m.,” I told her.

She nodded and said, “I called you.”

I looked at her and brushed her hair back behind her ear. “I know.”

She looked at me with pain in her eyes.

“I needed you, and you weren’t there.”

“I know, and I’m sorry. You know if I had known I’d been there in a heartbeat. The moment I saw that you called, I came to you.” She shook her head, and I felt like I needed to add, “You do know that, don’t you?”

She started to say something, but she stopped.

She said softly, “I’m full,” and turned from me to leave.

I got up and turned her chair around to face me. I moved her legs apart and walked into her, placing my hands on the sides of her face.

“Allura, if I had known that you needed me, I would have been there. My phone was off, and I didn’t realize it until late that night. I turned on the phone and saw a bunch of messages and missed calls from my brother. There were only two from you, but yours was the first message I listened to.”

I looked in her eyes and kept her head tilted up at me. I then leaned in and kissed her gently on the lips.

Max continued to look at me then she said, “You never have your phone off.”

“Yeah, exactly. Come on, why don’t I run you a bath?”

I took her hand and guided her into her bedroom. I went and ran the water in the tub, dropped in a few bath beads, and went back to get her undressed. She stood there in the same place I left her, watching me. I pulled my t-shirt off her naked body. Then I walked her into the bathroom. I pinned up her hair, and she got into the water. She grabbed her legs and rested her chin on her knees as bubble
s surrounded her body.

“I’ll be right back,” I said as I left her in the bathroom.

I grabbed two glasses and the bottle of whiskey. I poured me and her each a drink.

When she looked up, I handed her a glass and said, “Take a drink.”

She did and then made a face. I poured her another and told her to drink again. I was hoping it would take some of the edge off and make her relax some. It’s better than giving her a valium. While she soaked for a while, I stripped the bed and remade it with new sheets and a blanket of hers I found in her closet. I heard my cell ring. When I went to answer, I saw it was Diane.

“What?” I said into my phone.

She paused then asked, “Where are you?”

“I’m over Maxine’s. Tiffany passed away yesterday, and I’m here keeping her company.”

“Is that where you went off to last night?” I didn’t reply, and she said, “Are you fucking her?”

  “Is there anything you need?”

I knew I was getting angry, but I tried to stay calm.

“You son of a bitch, I will not stand back while you tramp around with your little ex-whore.”

See how I get treated when I try to be nice? She must have forgotten who I was and what our relationship means to me. I figured I’d remind her. So I decided at that point to tell her who Maxine really is to me.

“That’s ex-fiancée…” I heard a sharp breath catch on the phone, so I let that soak in for a second before I added, “Diane, let me remind you that our relationship is a business deal and nothing more. Yes, you might have known me the longest. But what you and I have is nothing compared to what Maxine and I have. If there is a chance I can be there for her when she needs me, you can best believe I’ll be there. So, I suggest you let what I’ve just said to you soak in a little.”

“I will not sit around here and wait for you, Mason.”

“And that’s fine, Diane. It will save me a lot of trouble if you could just please give the key to Martinez when you leave my house.”

I hung up on her. I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths. My cell rang again, and I looked at it. It was Roland, so I answered.

“Do you have any good news for me?”

  He chuckled.

“I may. First thing first, I talked to my guy, and he said we are a go for operation, ‘Fuck the cartels’.”

  “Oh yeah, when?”

  “In about two weeks?”

“Okay, well let me know the details later.”

“You coming along?” he asked me, and I laughed.

“Really? I can’t believe you’d asked me that fucking question; of course I’ll be there. I have some unfinished business to attend to… Speaking of which, have the two been escorted back to South America?”

  “Yup, they are deuces.”

I ended my call with Roland by reminding him to call me in a day or two before we depart for South America.

I didn’t know what the job would entail. I just knew I needed to be there. I wanted to make sure Maxine was safe from these fuckers, and I can’t do it on the sidelines. Besides, it’s been a while since I went on the road with Roland on a job. After I went with him to find Alex’s killer, I made frequent trips with him. No one knew about it—except my brother, of course. He didn’t understand why I went on the jobs, but I told him it was either this, or I’d be three times that asshole I was becoming.

He simply said, “Don’t get shot.”

I know he will not be happy about this trip, but it’s unavoidable. The last trip, though, spooked the hell out of him. So, I’m going to try and hold off telling him until I leave.

I went in the bathroom to find Max in the same place I left her. She looked up at me, and I smiled. I reached for her sponge thing and body wash and proceeded to wash her.

I took my time and went over her body, not saying much to her but directing her to move around so I could get all of her.

I left her there to grab her towel and then helped her out. I wrapped a towel around her and carried her into the bedroom. As I sat her down on the bed, she looked at the blanket.

I asked, “This blanket is yours, right?”

She nodded absentmindedly, and I continued to get her dressed.

For the rest of the night, we sat on the living room couch. We had a little bit of lasagna. Actually, it was Maxine who had a little bit. I devoured two large servings, and we both went through a bottle of rosé I bought earlier today. Maxine attempted to keep her distance from me.

She said, “Mason, I’m okay now, if you need to go.”

I looked over at her. “I’m good, thanks.”

“Really, Mason, I know it’s unfair to keep you here, so if you need…”

“Hey,” I interrupted her. “Listen to me. There is no place I’d rather be than right here with you, understand?” She nodded without conviction, and I added, “Now, get your sexy ass over here.”

She slowly moved closer to me. I put my arm around her, and I nestled her underneath my arm.

I kissed her head, “There; that’s better.”

  “Thank you, Mason,” she replied.

  “It’s no problem.”

  Maxine got quiet again.

Then I heard her whisper, “This is hard, Mason.” She moved back from me and looked me in my eyes. “I don’t think I can do this. I mean, I keep asking God what I had done to have bad things happen to me. Why did he have to take her away from me? What did I do that was so awful?”

  I touched her face.

“Baby, you did nothing wrong. Life just fucking sucks.”

  She laughed.

“Thank you, Socrates. You are extremely profound.”

I shrugged, glad to hear her joke.

“It’s one of my many talents.” She shook her head, and I continued, “Listen angel, I don’t have all the answers. But I do know how it feels to lose someone close to you. I also know how it feels to be helpless. It does suck, and it doesn’t get easier with time. Every day, I miss the hell out of Alex. I want to dial his number. I expect to hear his voice. But I can’t. That fucks with me, especially since I’m such a control freak. But what I am thankful for is that I still get to be surrounded by the loved ones I do have. Those are the people that care about me the most. Before you say anything, you are definitely in that category. It’s just that by the time I realized I needed to be thankful, I felt like I was at a point of no return. I couldn’t go back because I was afraid of hurting you. I didn’t want that. I know it wasn’t my place to make that decision for you, but it’s something that I felt I needed to do.”

I moved closer to her, putting my hand to the back of her neck.

“But no matter what the past brought, I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.”

I kissed her possessively, letting her know who she belonged to. When we parted, she looked at me panting.

I said huskily, “Now pick what movie you want to watch.”

I pulled her back to me, and we watched the latest die hard movie. I wasn’t concentrating on the movie. Instead, I was thinking about what I needed to do in order to assure Maxine I was here to stay. I needed to decide if I wanted to take the risk of hurting her or be miserable all my life.

My phone vibrate, and I reached for it, keeping Maxine resting her head on my chest.

“What’s up?” I said to Roland.

“Shaw wants to speak to Max.”

I paused a second. I knew Roland would make sure the call couldn’t be traced while tracking where Shaw was calling from, so it would be safe.

  “Okay, hold on.”

“Angel, your father wants to talk to you.”

“My father? Why is he calling on your phone?”

“It doesn’t matter at the moment. Just tell me if you want to speak to him or not.”

She looked in my eyes and saw no other answers would be given to her on the matter, so she said, “Yes.”

I put the phone back to my ear.

  “Patch him throug
h.”

Then I handed the phone to her, and I got up to give her some privacy. I put our wine glasses and our plates in the dishwasher and started it. The sucker was so freaking loud. I wasn’t able to hear myself think much less to eavesdrop on her conversation. The sooner I get her out of this apartment and into my place, the better.

When I came back, she handed me my phone.

  “Are you okay?”

She nodded. “Since when did you and my father become buddies?”

“I told you we were going to have a discussion about you and your safety, and we did that.”

“Humph. I wonder how that conversation went.”

  She eyed me suspiciously.

  I shrugged.

“He’s still alive, so I think it went very well…considering.”

She shook her head. “You are a piece of work, you know that?”

I smiled. “I am that, among other things.”

I leaned in closer—looking at her beautiful lips and wanting to feel them again—when my phone buzzed. I looked down and saw it was Diane. Max saw it too, and she moved back from me.

“Are you going to get that?” she asked

I sighed and, as much as I wanted to send her to voicemail, I answered.

  “Are you still there?”

I looked at Max as I spoke, seeing the hesitation and regret in her eyes.

“When are you coming home?” Diane asked me, as if I just didn’t ask her a question.

  “Soon,” was all I said.

If it was up to me, I wouldn’t ever go home. But I knew by the look in Max’s eyes that wouldn’t be the case.

  “Shall I expect you tonight?”

The sound in her voice made me break my gaze from Max.

“Probably not, but schedule some time on my calendar with Sara tomorrow…sooner rather than later. We need to take in a meeting.”

She was quiet on the phone.

Then finally she said, “That’s fine,” and she hung up.

Max had gotten up from the couch while I was on the phone.

When I hung up, she said, “Mason, you have been unbelievable to me. I’m so grateful for you, really. But you should really get home.”
