“What’s wrong lady bug?” she bent down and asked her daughter.

  “Sleepy…” she yawned.

Mahogany kissed her on the lips, “See you tomorrow. I’m going to call you before bed, okay?”

The little girl nodded her head up and down and then told her daddy, “It’s nap time.”

She meant every single word too. Her daughter was the spitting image of her. Unfortunately, she had her attitude and bossy ways as well. With Mahogany being on the road a lot, her daughter held the princess title down at the castle and normally got her way with her daddy. Which is how she was able to easily tell her father that she was ready to go home and lay down, as if she’d worked all day.

Porter told Juice, “We will link this week,” his tone was commanding which meant it wasn’t up for debate.

  “Cool. M, let’s ride.”

Mahogany hugged her husband and kids once more before letting Juice lead the way.

On the ride over, he didn’t say anything, and she didn’t either. She needed to rest her chords anyway, but because she was worried about her brother, she finally asked him, “Do you want me to reach out to Tia?”

  “For what?”

  “Maybe, I can help.”

Juice scoffed, “We broke up because I didn’t have any time for her, so do you really think you calling is going to make it better?”

She was offended, “Are you blaming ME?” She pointed to herself.

  “Not at all.”

Mahogany pulled her air pods out, she was done with the conversation. Well, she thought that she was, but she had something else to say.

“You know what...a man…a man that wants to be with someone will move mountains to make it work. I never heard you say, ‘Oh, it’s her birthday or hey, I can’t make your show tonight, I want to take Tia somewhere.’ The same energy I put into my marriage when I know my husband is missing me, you should’ve been doing a long time ago. You and I are family, so if you really needed to take time off to spend time with her then you would’ve done it.”

She got that off her chest, then she pressed play on her phone and turned the music up as loud as it could go leaving Juice’s mouth agape. She meant what she said, and the crazy thing was that she was right. He didn’t try. No effort was put into making her happy. Before he knew it, she was packing up her things, claiming that she was fed up and done with him. He wasn’t even aware that it had gotten that bad. Juice was clueless to her chipping heart.

He reclined his head on the seat and closed his eyes. He’d lost the best thing that ever happened to him.

She didn’t go out but had tons of clothes. She could easily fill four closets with brand new pieces simply because Juice was always picking up something for her. Instead of napping in the middle of the day like most 20 somethings did, she put on Solange’s newest album, smoked half a blunt, lit a candle and began to unpack her clothes. Tia was walking back and forth from her room to the guest room which she’d decided to turn into a closet/office for her pictures. She didn’t see herself studying in there, simply because she enjoyed the vibe she got at local coffee shops and delis. She’d be entirely too distracted to study at home. With her velvet hangers in hand, the Virgo in her began to color coordinate her clothes for hours. When she finally decided to take a break, her classmate had sent the details with a message that included, “The night is young and we outchea! See you at nine.”

It was a quarter to five, so she showered and laid down to restore her energy for tonight. Tia was a granny and if they weren’t getting started until nine when she was normally climbing into bed around that time, she knew that a nap would be needed.

She woke up at eight forty-five, saying to herself, “Shit.” That sleep was good too. She wiped the slob from the corner of her mouth and trekked into the bathroom to prepare a look for tonight. She did her makeup only because she never damn did it and it was Friday night. A smoky eye and a dark crimson lip with her newly dyed blonde hair gave her a mysterious feel. She propped her titties up as she slid into a black lace shirt with a deep opening, riding pants, Fendi boots and the matching bag courtesy of that nigga, completed her look. Tia wore a simple plain jane Rolex, leaving the diamonds at home. Her hair was in a low ponytail and would stay that way. All she did was relay her edges and combed out her tresses to make it look fluffier.

Tia added a dab of perfume to her wrists and neck then was out of the door. Out of habit, she locked her apartment and then checked it again to make sure it was secure. Her place was nice, but it didn’t come with the perks of her previous place which included 24-hour concierge, security, valet, door to door service or groceries being delivered on the whim. Tia was doing all her own stuff these days which included taking her trash out, that’s what she hated the most.

She caught an Uber to the address they sent her and got out, surveying the area and it was popping. The name of the bar was called Get Punished, so she should’ve known things were going to be turnt. She was low-key excited to be out tonight. It felt good not being on the couch in one of his t-shirts and waiting for him to call which rarely happened.

She took a deep breath, telling herself, “You’re going to enjoy your life starting today,” before walking into the pub.

She immediately recognized some of her peers and they drunkenly waved her over. Was she that late? They were already lit as fuck.

Tia ordered a round of Patron and Hennessy shots, not sure which they indulged in.

“Oh, you got money! We been drinking Taka and beer,” one of them joked.

Tia gave her a sheepish smile. “Cheers!” she said, nervously.

Jesus, she was such an introvert. Her social skills needed some work.

“Hey girl you, made it! Come over here with us…black folks,” she mumbled the latter.

Tia said, “Oh, I ordered shots. Let me get one first.”

  “You ordered a round?”

She nodded her head. “Yeah, I was late, and everyone is already turnt. Trying to catch up,” she mumbled.

“Girl, we’re about to take all of them. Hey y’all, Tia ordered shots,” she told her little crew that crowded around two round tall tables. Just as she thought, she was right. It was all the niggas from her classes. Tia didn’t want to be grouped by race. She wanted to be cool with everyone, but for now, she’d go with the flow.

They toasted to knocking the first semester of law school out of the park and then she tossed the potion back and said, “Aah!” her throat burned badly.

  “Let’s take another!”

And before she knew it she was dancing with Brad or was his name Peter? She couldn’t remember, but she was having the time of her life. Tia tossed her head back in laughter as she salsa danced to a pop song. They decided it was time to head to the next spot and she was game.

“I caught an Uber. Can I ride with you?” she asked Alana, the woman who invited her out.

“Sure, I’m parked across the street. Your boots look comfortable as hell. I shouldn’t have worn these heels.” She looked down at her pumps.

Tia figured they’d be bar hopping, so chunky heels were her only option.

“They definitely are,” she shared with her.

“Where are you from?” The girl couldn’t pick up on an accent that designated where she originated from.

  “Louisiana.”

  “Where did you do Undergrad?”

  “NYU, you?”

  “Spelman.”

  “My boy…never mind.”

She was about to say that her boyfriend went to Clark Atlanta, but he was not her man anymore. Tia took a deep breath; the liquor could easily bring out feelings that she didn’t want to have.

“You were about to say your ex went to Morehouse?”

Alana’s skills were on point. “Clark.”

“Is he Greek?” She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

“Yes, but I really don’t want to talk about him. It’s still fresh…”

&nb
sp; She had one more question before she changed the subject.

  “When did y’all break up?”

Tia ran her hands over her sleek ponytail, “Uh, last week.”

Her heart went out to the pretty girl. She hugged her from the side, showing some love. “Oh boo, one day at a time. It gets better. Let’s go turn up!”

Tia felt herself about to cry as she nodded her head and agreeing, “Let’s do it.”

The car ride to The Social Butterfly was a fast one. Alana twerked as she sped and made Instagram videos of herself looking cute. Tia wasn’t having withdrawals from social media yet. She wondered if she’d ever get back on. Too scared to find out that Juice was involved with someone else, she figured that she should stay off and live her life not knowing another detail about him.

She used to stalk Mahogany’s page to make sure whatever “story” he told her added up to where his artist was and over time, it grew old and tiring. Tia should have a PhD in checking for a nigga and that wasn’t her life anymore. She refused to do all of that going forward if she ever got into another situation or relationship. Tia pinched at her sanity when she did things like that and who was left to pick up the pieces? Her.

His mind had to be playing tricks on him, but no, it wasn’t. The promoter for the appearance in Miami, Florida never sent the deposit. No money. No show. That was the motto, so after they wrapped up the day they went to the studio earlier than they were scheduled. That made his artist happy since she rarely got to cook dinner and put her kids in the tub like a regular mom. Mahogany headed home with a smile on her face, whereas Juice met some of the execs from the label at the club to see one of the newest groups perform for the first time. He was babysitting a double shot of D’usse with one ice cube. That one ice cube changed the game, he got that from traveling overseas. They weren’t loading the drinks up with ice and now, no matter what he was sipping on he only wanted one ice cube. Just one.

He leaned forward and peered down below from the VIP section where he was tucked and yep, it was his shorty. Looking thicker than a got damn snicker in those riding pants and thigh-high boots that were courtesy of him. She always looked good in whatever he bought. He didn’t get a chance to take in her blonde hair since when he popped up on her at school he was focused on getting her to listen to him, but that blonde made Tia look exotic.

She was such a darling girl, his favorite female at that.

Her luscious lips were painted in a bloody red and he would love to kiss it off if she allowed him. Tia was so fine, she deserved a double take after double take. The texture of her skin reminded of him a yellow cake before being baked. Her smile, her touch, her essence…her frame, her figure, her breasts, thighs. And that behind. Lord, those cheeks. Tia’s ass wasn’t too jiggly, it had the right amount of firmness to it and man, he missed gripping that motherfucker when he was either hitting it from the back or helping her ride his dick just the way he liked it.

He got a good look at the people she was with searching for a familiar face, but she didn’t have friends or family, so it didn’t take him to long to conclude that these people were from her school. The guys had on suits so that gave it right away.

Tia didn’t seem out of place or anything. Her smile was organic. She was having a good time, so he debated on stepping to her or let her enjoy her night.

An hour later, he hadn’t done anything other than look at her wondering how she hadn’t felt his stare on her. Had he lost his touch on his baby?

“Yo, I’ll be back,” he told his partner and took the steps towards the main floor where Tia had been dancing off and on.

She turned around to back it up and drop it like Cardi was rapping about and when she brought that thang back up her eyes landed on him.

Her smile transformed into a look of fury mixed with shock. Her new “friends” asked her what was wrong, and it didn’t take a rocket scientist for Alana to figure out that the “ex” was the man before her.

Furthermore, you had to be living under a rock to not know who he was, and not because managers weren’t celebs because Juice didn’t consider himself famous not even a lil bit, but Mahogany thanked him profusely via social media and on every award that she won.

He was on her page often and her story. They spent more time together than she did with her husband and vice versa.

“OMG is Mahogany here?” one of her classmates asked loudly to no one in particular, but a stumped Tia recognized where this would lead.

“Looking good baby,” he complimented her.

The music was loud, but she heard him, clearly.

  “Jamari…”

It had only been a few days since she told him to leave her alone and let her go. Popping up on her like this wasn’t okay.

“Let me talk to you for a second…please.”

He didn’t wait on her to think about telling him no, he grabbed her hand and she followed. He didn’t give her a chance to do anything else.

He led her outside and down the block.

“Juice, you good bro?” security of the club asked.

  “Yeah bro, I’m all goodie.”

He saw the guard tell another guard to keep a look out for Juice. He was a big spender in the club and they couldn’t have anything happening to him.

  “Having fun?”

She didn’t want to do this with him.

“Can you take me back to my friends?”

Juice dropped his head. “Damn boo, I really fucked up, huh?”

She rolled her eyes. “I’m good. We can be cool in another lifetime, but not right now. I’m not ready,” she admitted.

“I want a hug. Can you give me that?” he was tripping out right now, losing his got damn shit behind this girl.

She exhaled loudly but walked into his arms. Of course, he did the most by wrapping her up like a bear and kissing her neck inhaling her perfume.

“I miss you so much baby,” he whispered in her ear.

  “You’ll get over me.”

“How Tia?” he wanted to know if that’s what she really wanted.

“I don’t know.” She tried to pull away, but he didn’t let her. His hands left her waist and grabbed her ass.

“Jamari!” she called out his government.

He was taking it too far.

“Let me eat your pussy one last time and I swear I’ll leave you alone.”

She pushed him away. “You’re drunk, go home.”

“I had one drink,” he cleared that up.

“You way more lit than me,” he let her know that he’d peeped her doing her thing.

Tia wanted to move on and be done with him. Without thinking twice, she dismissed him, “Goodnight.”

The conversation was over for her, but not for him.

“I’m dead ass, we didn’t even fuck before you left. Let me taste you. That’s all I want. No strings attached,” he was out of here begging her.

Juice was great in bed. Amazingly satisfying. The boy had truly been blessed.

“Where? Cus I’m not coming back to that house.”

He didn’t like the way she said that as if their house wasn’t a happy home at one point, but instead of checking her, he just told her, “I got the truck.”

Tia knew she was wrong for this, but hell, she was drunk and somewhat horny. It wasn’t like she had some back up dick at home waiting on her, so she nodded her head. “Only for a few minutes, so make me cum fast,” she laid out her demands.

He ignored her, knowing that he was going to do whatever the hell he wanted to do to her lil’ pussy. He tapped the back door of the Escalade and his driver unlocked it.

Mahogany was dropped off at home and he ended up being stuck with the driver. Normally, he drove.

“Give me a minute,” he told the man and watched him step out of the Escalade.

Tia hopped in and Juice followed behind her like a hound closely sniffing.

He was prepared to talk a little more, but she wasn’t trying to hear
that shit. She jumped in his lap and tongued him down for dear mercy. She gave him everything she had boiling inside of her, confidently knowing that this would be the last time he ever tasted her. His hands roamed her thick frame, caressing her sweet skin as moans and lust filled the air. He was able to pull one boot mid-way down but needed her assistance for the designer kicks. Tia came out of her clothes, quickly regretting not wearing a dress and fuck me pumps. Once her bottom was bare, she wondered how they could do this with the truck not being as spacious as she assumed it to be.

He saw the wheels turning way too damn fast in her head and before she changed her mind about giving him access to her body, he pushed her against the door, hooked one of her legs on his shoulder and went to work.

She tried to protest, but the only thing that came out of her mouth was a faint moan, then a hard and loud groan.

Juice used his lips, tongue and even three fingers to bring her to a gut-wrenching climax. Tia bucked against his mouth as her essence slipped from her middle. “Oh my…” Her eyes rolled to the back of her head.

“Shittttt…” Her voice became deep as she felt another one coming.

“Give it to me, baby,” he mumbled in between nibbles. Because of the liquor she’d indulged in, sweat beads formed on her pretty little head. She was a champ. She could take everything he was giving her. As she exhaled loudly, she nutted yet again, all in his mouth and the remnants covered his face, spilling profusely out of her and onto the leather seats.

Juice lapped her up like a newborn baby before slowly planting kisses on the inside of her thighs. She was sensitive to touch, especially his.

Tia caught her breath and contemplated fucking him.

“What the hell,” she mumbled along with telling herself that she was young and only lived once.

They hadn’t had car sex in years, their relationship could’ve used this burst of spontaneity.

She climbed in his lap and tongued him down once more, tasting herself on his tongue and sucking as much as she could of it up. Tia was drunk and nasty. She grinded in his lap, slow winding to the music from the club that could boldly be heard in the vehicle.
