~ Jenny, age 9
I absolutely LOVE the Kendra Kandlestar books, and my favorite is the Box of Whispers! It is an amazing book! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
~ Lyba, age 11
Hi Mr. Wiz, I was at your assembly and I really like your second book, especially The Door to Unger and the cricket Jinx.
~ Cooper, Age 7
I love your Kendra Kandlestar series. I hope you’ll write a fourth one. I really love your books. How do you think of these brilliant ideas? My mom does twelve different voices for all the characters—it’s awesome!
~ Madelyn, age 9
I love your Kendra Kandlestar books! They’re always full of lots of adventure and suspense. My favorite character is Honest Oki. I’ll think of turnips! Or onions! I also really like uncle Griffinskitch. Humph!
~ Chloe, age 10
I love Kendra Kandlestar. My favorite character is Honest Oki; he is so cute. I read The Box of Whispers in about four days, I read The Door to Unger in about two days and I read The Shard from Greeve in about three days. That’s how much I love your books. YOUR BOOKS ARE AWESOME!
~ Daniel, age 9
We really like your series. We read then at night when we go to bed. Our favorite character is Oki because he is a very good friend to Kendra and because he is an apprentice to Ratchet.
~ Max and Gus, 7 and 4
I love all your books in The Chronicles of Kendra Kandlestar. But I think my favorite book is The Box of Whispers. But I still love them all! My favorite characters are Oki and Jinx. I like Oki because he is so cute and I like how he always thinks of vegetables! I like Jinx because she is fierce, not afraid and I like the funny names she calls Professor Bumblebean!
~ Andrea, age 9
I really liked this book. I thought it was awesome, especially how the characters are always coming up with ideas to overcome obstacles. My favourite character is Trooogul because he acts so tough and argues with Kendra, but the arguing seems more like they’re close friends than enemies. I didn’t like how you left me hanging. I wouldn’t have minded a longer book! I also wish you hadn’t allowed Burdock Brown to be leader of the elders! However, overall I’d say these books are awesome! I hope Kendra’s adventures never end!
~ Emma, age 11
I love your books! They are funny and fun to read. I’ve read the first two books, and I’m reading the third. Please make more books! Thanks for writing such great books!
~ Sofie, age 10
I love your series Kendra Kandlestar! I was wondering when the next book is coming out, because I really want to read it.
~ Saige, age 13
I loved Kendra Kandlestar and the Box of Whispers! My favorite character was Kendra Kandlestar because she was brave to tell Oki that she saved an Unger. My least favorite character was Burdock Brown because he was so mean and selfish.
~ Sooin, age 9
I loved your books! I finished the three Kendra books in three days, they where so good! My favourite character is Uncle Griffinskitch because he stands his ground even when he is accused by Brownie (Burdock Brown) in the third book.
~ Turner, age 12
I love Kendra! This book is so magical! But I wish to know how old is Uncle Griffinskitch. I can’t wait to see if the Kendra books continue!
~ Michelle, age 8
I think The Shard from Greeve was a fantastic book! My favorite part is when Kendra is in the Rumble Pit fighting for her life.
~ Rorie, age 12
I am a big fan of yours and I adore all of your books. Your imagination is very inspiring and I love how you create creatures and the names and your story lines are breath-taking. Mr. Fodi, you are an amazing illustrator and writer.
~ Bakhtaawar, age 10
I’ve read Kendra Kandlestar and the Shard from Greeve and I loved it! I hope for lots more! Kendra is really brave to do all those things. It is one of my favourite books ever! I highly recommend it to other eager fantasy readers!
~ Rhiannon, age 9
I just love your books. Can you make thousands of them? No, a million. No, a billion. No, a zillion! That would be great.
~ Amy, age 9
Lee Edward Födi grew up on a farm, where he was subjected to various horrible chores such as cleaning up after chickens, pigs, geese, and younger siblings. He continually craved adventure and often found himself searching between the cracks of here and there in hopes of discovering an enchanted world populated with magical creatures, talking animals, and other creatures of faerie. Several years later, he had the stroke of good fortune to stumble upon the secret Land of Een and now he is most pleased to have the official title as chronicler of the adventures of Kendra Kandlestar. When he is not chronicling, “Mr. Wiz” (as he is so often called) spends his time speaking at schools or helping kids sculpt their own stories through creative writing workshops.
