Draeis was sitting in front of the Tru-View eating a bowl of cobbler Faeswyn had made for dessert. He set it down on the table in front of him as Naihr and Faeswyn walked in.
“What’s up?”
Naihr smiled at him, kissing the top of Faeswyn’s hand. “I think it’s time we said something to Faeswyn.”
Draeis stood, nodding to Naihr. “Yes, it is.” He walked over to stand in front of her, just as Naihr was, and they both knelt on the floor in front of her.
Naihr stared up at her. She smiled broadly as a small giggle escaped her. At that moment, any thoughts of wrong or tension were gone. Her men…hers, she thought to herself. They were about to make her happier than she thought she could ever be in her life. Happier than she’d been in the few years she’d been on the farm. Happier than she’d been with her husband Taesoraeon and Nosved. It was right. The looks on their faces told her it was right.
“Sweetheart,” Draeis said to her. “I wish we could drive into Daenisnae and do this formally, but—”
“I don’t care about formal shit,” she said, trying not to jump up and down with happiness.
“Faeswyn,” Naihr said. “I come to you with a full heart and a clear mind. I pledge to you my essence from this moment on, until my heart no longer beats and beyond, for our essence will be bound forever.”
“Faeswyn,” Draeis said, and repeated the words said by Naihr.
Tears started to fall down Faeswyn’s cheeks as she held onto both of their hands. “I accept your essence, and give you mine,” she said. “I come to you both with a full heart and a clear mind. I pledge to you my essence from this moment on, until my heart no longer beats and beyond, for our essence will be bound forever.”
Naihr and Draeis stood, hugging her each in turn. “You’re our wife,” Naihr said with a broad smile. She returned a smile to them that paled on the surface to what she was feeling inside.
“And,” she said, tiptoeing up to kiss them both sweetly on the lips, “I have two husbands. You know what this means?”
Draeis glanced at Naihr. “You want me to take the garbage out to the incendiary?”
Faeswyn smiled, and shook her head. She slowly pulled them with her down the hallway. “Nope.”
“Draeis,” Naihr said, smiling back at Faeswyn. “I believe our wife has other plans.”
She did. She wanted her men. Her husbands. “Sit down,” she said, pointing to the edge of the bed. Naihr and Draeis both sat down on opposite ends, each wearing similar smiles.
“I love both of you so much. Being vaedra, having two men make love to me—to make love to—is something I’ve only dreamt of. I want you, and I know that even though you are as close as brothers, you don’t have any inclinations for each other. So, even though I’ve wanted this for a very long time, I have no idea how to—”
Naihr shook his head. “Shhhhe said standing up and closing the distance between them. “Maybe that’s something you should let me and Draeis handle.” He bent his head and kissed her passionately. Then he walked behind her as Draeis took his place, kissing her deeply.
Standing behind her, Naihr slowly started unbuttoning her dress. Draeis laid soft kisses along her neck, pulling her dress off, and letting it pool on the floor around her feet. She stepped out of it as Draeis removed his shirt. Taking her hand, he led her over to the bed. Naihr removed his clothes, lying next to Faeswyn on the bed, as his hands began to roam over her body.
Naihr lay next to her, and she felt the warmth of his skin. He cupped her full breasts as Draeis lay on the other side of her. His warm, wet, mouth kissed along her body until she felt him between her legs. “Yes,” she whispered. “Lick me, Naihr.”
She wanted to pleasure them. She wanted to feel them in her mouth, caress their cocks in her hand, and make them moan in pleasure under her control. She wanted to, but they were intent on only her pleasure. Each time she protested, trying to give to them as much as they were giving to her, she was silenced with deep, passionate kisses, or warm, moist tongues on her taut nipples. So when she felt Naihr’s tongue begin to lick along the wet slit of her pussy, she didn’t protest. She willingly let him push her legs apart as he began to delve and lick her languorously, making her moan in the most delicious pleasure she’d felt in her life.
Draeis began to suck and caress her breasts, molding them in his hands while he traced around her nipples with his tongue. She felt her aura begin to build, but quelled that heat inside of her to prolong their pleasure.
She yelled out into the room at feeling Naihr push himself inside of her. He began to move and thrust his hips, sending ripples of electric shocks throughout her body. She wrapped her legs around his hips, even as Draeis began to kiss her passionately. Her hands searched along his body, finding his hardened, engorged dick pulsing with need. He seemed to understand what she wanted as she turned her head and he let her mouth engulf him.
She sucked and pumped Draeis’s cock in her mouth, even as Naihr thrust harder and faster inside of her. She felt a moment of disappointment when she felt Naihr leave her body. But then Draeis took his place, making her gasp out loud at feeling his hardened cock enter her pussy. He bent his body to lick around her nipples, and she felt her aura begin to build inside of her again.
“Baby, let go,” Naihr whispered close to her.
She glanced above her to see him rubbing his penis in tempo with Draeis’ thrusts. Draeis was sending her to such new heights with every move he made. She knew that when she released her aura over them, all of the pleasure she was feeling would take hold of them, pulling them into the realm of intensity that she felt.
She wanted to prolong their pleasure for as long as she could, but her aura wouldn’t be contained. She released it, letting it flow over them all. Draeis screamed out his pleasure just as Naihr did, and she let herself go. An orgasm was only a word. What she felt defied that small, infinitesimal word. All she knew was that she was flying in a cloud of bliss, wanting never to come down. And she knew that for the rest of her life, with her husbands she didn’t have to.
Draeis fell to the side of the bed breathing, but unmoving. Faeswyn smiled, still luxuriating in the aftermath of their lovemaking. Naihr was lying on the other side of her with his head toward her feet. She slowly pulled the quilt over them all with what strength she had, and slept.
She woke an hour later hearing the soft beep of the TCD somewhere in the room. She noticed Naihr was no longer laying on her right. Getting up, she dressed more out of habit than modesty, taking the TCD out of the pocket of her dress, and putting it into her ear.
“Glywyn,” she whispered as she instantly recognized her wavelength, walking out of the room, and glancing into the back bedroom to see Naihr’s form on the small bed. “Is something wrong? The baby?”
“The baby is fine. Big. Huge, but fine. The doc—person—doctor… She said everything looks good. Faeswyn, they have a hospital here. I’ve only heard of that mentioned on the Tru-View. We didn’t have anything like that in Mocmoran. It’s strange, but organized. Mom says they—”
“By the goddesses, Glywyn. I almost forgot your parents are there. How are they?”
“Oh, they’re great. They love Draedon. And of course they love Theoch, since he was the one that helped them get to Yaeltaran. Things are just kind of weird since we’re living in the house that was in my dream. That dream I told you about when we met? The house? It was kind of freakin’ me out when we moved into it. It was given to us by the kingdom. We met with King Lavaerion when we got here. Faeswyn,” Glywyn said, taking a long pause on the other end. “He knelt in front of me after we told him about my dream. The king knelt in front of me, pledging his fealty to my child.”
“Because he knows, Glywyn. I’m just happy that you’re safe there. Have you heard about King Gaeldos?”
“Yes. No love lost here. I thought they were going to throw a parade or something. Draedon says not to be too excited because he doesn’t trust Balaedras.”
“He has good
reason not to. Is he there?”
A second or two later, Draedon’s deep voice was in her ear. “Faeswyn, it’s good to hear from you.”
“Hi, sweetie. You, too. Is Theoch there?”
“No. He’s misted into Balknae for a meeting with the ambassador. That’s what he is now. King Lavaerion made him the fuckin’ ambassador. Why? Is something wrong?”
She took some time to tell Draedon everything that happened to them since they’d left Yaesdrah, and what she’d heard the fairies say about Balaedras.
“Are you sure, Faeswyn?”
Faeswyn heard the intensity in his voice, smiling and nodding behind her as Draeis kissed her cheek and walked into the kitchen. “Yes. A fuckin’ fairy war, Draedon. That’s what the witch queen said Balaedras is planning. I don’t know if it’s true or not. But why?”
“That cunning bitch,” Draedon said. “It’s to pull the other kingdoms into an alliance with her. She’ll send her guards in to help with these small skirmishes, and they’ll have to pledge their fealty to her in return. Shit.”
“Would they? I mean, I doubt Valwithia, Yaeltaran, Zinvia, or Balknae would. But would the other kingdoms of Ai?”
“I don’t know, but thank you for telling me about this. I think King Lavaerion should hear this. Lavaerion and Theoch. He can convey this to the Balknian Ambassador. I think I should speak with the king tonight, Faeswyn. Take care of yourself.”
“What the hell is happening in Ai, Faeswyn?” Glywyn asked.
“I don’t know, but I leave it to the kings and the kingdoms. I guess I’ll let you—”
“No, wait, Faeswyn. I contacted you for a reason.” She was silent for a few seconds, and Faeswyn heard Glywyn say good-bye to Draedon. “I wanted Draedon to leave first because I don’t know if what I’m about to say is important or not. He and Theoch are so tense around me lately, thinking I’m going to have this baby any second. I just don’t want them to have something else to worry about, especially with what you just told Draedon. Faeswyn, I had a dream.”
“Listening.”
“Okay. You, Draeis, and Naihr were here in Yaelvoch. In my dream, I was hugging you, and I was so happy that you were here. It was the look on your face that frightened me. You looked worried or tense, I think. I asked you if you were all right, and you assured me that it wasn’t you. Then this girl stood from behind you, and you put your arm around her protectively. You said that you weren’t worried about yourself, but for Trikyia. Do you know anyone named Trikyia, Faeswyn?”
Faeswyn’s eyes were wide as she nodded. She saw the look of concern on Naihr’s face as he walked into the living room where she had walked talking to Glywyn. “Yes. Oh shit. I do, Glywyn. Why?”
“You said that you, Draeis, and Naihr were going to take care of her. Then, in my dream it was years later. My baby was grown, so it had to be years later. But it couldn’t have been that long. She looked to be in her early twenties, Faeswyn, yet I knew… I knew it had only been like ten years. Maybe less. I just felt it. But the girl, Trikyia, was now older, and she was dressed in what seemed to be a warrior uniform of some type. She was standing behind my daughter in the position of protector. She was my daughter’s protector, Faeswyn. And…I know what my daughter’s name is. Trikyia kept saying it. Leiahrahwyn.”
Faeswyn gasped. “From the ancient Mocmoran word for nation builder. Leiahrah. Shit,” she whispered.
“Yeah. But, Faeswyn, the girl. Why would you say you’re going to take care of her? Has something happened?” Faeswyn reiterated what she’d told Draedon. “Shit, shit, shit. This is too freaky,” Glywyn said.
“And you don’t know when all this is supposed to happen, do you?” Faeswyn asked.
“No. I get the dreams, but unfortunately they don’t come to me time stamped. Just promise me you’ll be careful. All of you. Draeis and Naihr, and this Trikyia girl. Okay.”
“I’ll do my best. Love you.”
“Love you.”
She would do her best. She would try not to get kidnapped by witches. Too late. Already happened. She would try not to have fairies threaten her life. Too late. Already happened. She would try not to be involved in a fight between witches and fairies as a fifteen-year-old girl kicked their asses right in front of her. Too fuckin’ late.
Chapter Seventeen
Balaedras’ heels clicked along the stone floor as she walked along the hallway under the palace. She opened a large wooden door, complete with a heavy iron handle, and closed it behind her with an ominous thud. She was taking a chance. She knew she was taking a chance, but her com-link was open on her TCD to her chief officer, who stood at the ready in case anything went wrong. Which, she had to admit to herself, it could.
She opened an iron gate, and walked down the circular stair path that led even further below the palace. The stair path opened into a large stonewalled room where a beautiful woman sat in a flowing yellow and gold gown. Her yellow eyes stared intently at Balaedras as she entered the room.
“You are Queen Balaedras,” the woman said in a seductive whisper. “Shahlmach spoke often of you. I am Queen Thalutharoch.”
“And where is Shahlmach?” Balaedras sat in the other seat across from Thalutharoch.
“No more. She has met her end. Which is why I have called this meeting. We must…renegotiate the terms of the agreement you had with Shahlmach.”
“Renegotiation isn’t needed,” Balaedras said, trying to choose her words carefully. “My agreement was with the fairy kingdom. Not with Shahlmach personally.”
“Kingdom,” Thalutharoch said in a light whisper. “Fairies do not have kingdoms or kings. That is a human convenience. But renegotiation is needed. The death of six of our sisters is why, Balaedras.”
“So tell me what has happened.”
Thalutharoch stood, slowly walking around the perimeter of the stone room. “A child,” she whispered, trailing her hand along the rocky surface of the wall. “One child ended my sisters. A child unlike any other, so says the watch.”
“The watch?”
“The fairy watch. The fairy that stays apart from the others. She stood alone. Inconspicuous to anyone and…watched,” Thalutharoch’s eyes pierced Balaedras. “She saw the child kill my sisters. It is why we must renegotiate, Balaedras.”
“I don’t know who this child is, Thalutharoch. She isn’t important to me. If you have a problem with her, then…I believe it’s a fairy problem.”
“A fairy problem,” repeated Thalutharoch, sending chills down Balaedras’ spine. “It is now your problem. For we will not continue in this agreement until the child is dealt with. I will not have the lives of my sisters go unavenged!” Thalutharoch’s face changed from that of a beautiful fairy, to that of a gray-skinned terror as her mouth opened wide to show all of her sharp, shark-like teeth. She immediately changed back into the fairy seductress Balaedras first saw.
Balaedras nodded. Tread carefully, she told herself. “I understand, Queen Thalutharoch. But please try to understand my dilemma. I need the other kingdoms to pledge their fealty to me. The stronger kingdoms of Zinvia, Valwithia, Yaeltaran, and Balknae can only be dealt with through force. I need a larger army, and the only way to achieve that is to expand my control on the smaller kingdoms of Ja’Kahl, Drisa, Jroan, and Tulor. If they are under threat from a fairy attack, they will ask for help from the closest and strongest kingdom. Teveoch. The fairies must—” She saw the look on Thalutharoch’s face and changed her tact. “I ask that the fairies continue with the agreement I entered with Shahlmach. In time, I will have control of those smaller kingdoms, and the fairies will be given a larger range to hunt. That was the agreement.”
“In time, you say.” Thalutharoch shook her head, making her white-blonde hair move around her as if in a wind. “We want the child now.”
Balaedras stared down at her hands clasped in her lap. She had no other choice. She held them there to keep them from shaking. “Queen Thalutharoch, how many do the fairies number?”
Tha
lutharoch smiled at Balaedras as she moved lithely around the room. “Thousands!”
Balaedras swallowed hard, and took a deep breath. “The truth, Thalutharoch. Because I know the fairy numbers have dwindled in the last few hundred years because of territorial disputes. There are no longer fairies in most of the kingdoms of Ai. The wildwoods of Teveoch and Jroan are the only kingdoms where fairies are known to have any permanent enclaves. Even in Jahlmerikahl, the fairy population has begun to slowly diminish. I am only assuming, but you probably only number in a few hundred, if that. Your numbers have also been diminished, so I ask you again, how many do you number?”
Thalutharoch began to laugh as she drifted back to her seat, taking it with more than a little flourish. “We number enough. One fairy is enough to end several humans. Would you like a demonstration?”
“Think of this, Thalutharoch. What if you were allowed to populate the fairy enclaves once again? Not by much,” Balaedras said as she held up her hand. “Perhaps by twenty an enclave per every ten years or so. Think of how that could affect the fairy population. How much you, Queen Thalutharoch, will be credited with doing so.”
“Yes? You have gained my interest, Balaedras.”
“Strong men, with strong genes can be afforded to the fairies for procreation. All I ask is that we continue with the original agreement. If you find the child within that time, so be it. Kill her. But I need you and your sisters’ attention on one agenda. Because when I am Queen of all of Ai, I will make sure all of the fairies benefit. Understood?”
Thalutharoch smiled sweetly. She sighed in a sing-song lilt before she nodded. “Understood. I do hope you uphold your end of the agreement, Balaedras. As I have said, one fairy can end several men…and women,” she said with a glare. “And since you have invited me into your city, my sisters and I can enter Morhais at any time. We can be as quiet as the snowfall, and as deathly as a dialon viper.”
“Is that a threat, Thalutharoch?”
In an instant, Thalutharoch’s face was within an inch of her own. Not the beautiful face of her human form, but that of her true fairy form with so many, many teeth. Balaedras could smell the rancid, yet sweet scent of Thalutharoch’s breath as she spoke. “No, it’s a promise,” hissed the fairy.
