Lenox growled, a sound so deep it resonated in her mind and her marrow. His arms slid around her and pulled her upright to straddle him. His fingers squeezed her ass. He thrust inside her, guiding her hips to meet each rough motion until her spirit wavered and her wolf howled.

Her climax struck her with the power of a ravaging storm. Her body tensed and shuddered, the fragile glass of her spirit shattering into a million pieces. She dug her fingers into Lenox’s shoulders for grounding as she spiraled into the pulsating arms of release. Her womb clenched, her cunt spasmed, and she screamed.

The friction never eased. Lenox dropped her onto the mattress and pumped into her with hard thrusts. She quivered, the lasting waves of her orgasm resonating through her. The dense clouds of passion never thinned. She lifted her hips to meet each deep, penetrating slide of his cock. He growled with satisfaction until she plunged her fingers into his hair.

His lip curled back, and his furious pumping ceased. He sat back on his heel, his long cock sliding from her, leaving her cold and empty. She pressed up on her elbows.

  “What—”

“Turn over,” Lenox instructed. He licked his lower lip, eyes glowing with carnal hunger. When she hesitated, he tilted his head. “Now, or it’ll be my fingers fucking your cunt and not my cock.”

His blunt words struck a chord in her. Heat spread up her neck and over her face. His fierce gaze lit with his dark smile. A naughty thrill raked over her. Slowly, Aya rolled onto her stomach, breaking their gaze only when she lay flat against the mattress.

“On your knees,” Lenox commanded, his voice so rich and thick with desire. She began to press up onto her hands and knees. One of his strong hands splayed between her shoulder blades and pinned her to the bed. “Your knees. Not your hands.”

The fever in her blood escalated, as did her anticipation. She pulled her knees beneath her and lifted her rear. Lenox continued to hold her shoulders down. With his free hand, he rubbed the round globes of her ass.

Then he smacked her. The sting made her pussy cream and her clit ache, and she yipped. He smacked her again and her arousal intensified.

“Next time you fail to listen to me,” Lenox’s hand left her shoulder and grabbed her ass, spreading her cheeks, “I’ll smack you harder.”

“I’m a glutton for punishment, Lenox Carter,” Aya assured.

The seductive gravel of her tone made her stomach tighten. Lying in submission with her nether region exposed to Lenox, she all but climaxed. Her sensitive breasts pressed into the soft velvet, sparks of delight tumbling down to her womb.

He grabbed her hips and plunged inside her. He drew out completely and plunged again. Each steady spear filled her body and slowly tugged at the loose ends of pleasure. Pressure mounted one thrust at a time. She lifted her rear more, pressing back to meet each carefully controlled impalement.

“Damnit, Ayasha. You feel so good, so tight.” He buried himself to the hilt and leaned over her back. His hands slid beneath her and cupped her breasts. He nibbled the back of her neck until his lips reached her ear. His tongue traced her earlobe, and goose bumps shot up over her arms and legs. “So fucking wet.”

Lenox pulled her upright and seated her over his lap. One hand dropped to her clit and he began stroking her as his fingers pinched and tugged her nipple. She rode his shaft, the heavy pressure rocketing to breaking point. His rough pads quickened their strokes. He pounded into her from beneath, soft grunts filling her ears. Shimmers of color streaked her vision, and she clasped his knees for balance. He fucked her furiously, overwhelming every sense in her body until, at last, her mind melted and her world exploded in an array of misty gold fire. Her entire body convulsed against Lenox. She panted for breath, unabashed screams of climax rushing past her lips. She clenched down on his cock over and over.

Lenox tensed against her back. His arms tightened around her and he roared his release, spurting liquid heat into her. Tremors racked him, mimicking those Aya continued to experience as her orgasmic waves slowly began to level off.

After mindless moments of nothing but the all-consuming sea of pleasure, Lenox pulled her down to the bed. The wild hunger she’d just tasted from him ebbed away, leaving the tender, in-control Lenox at her back.

“Oh, my,” she let out a slow breath to steady her racing heart, “that was incredible.”

Hot breath spread over her ear as he chuckled. “Imagine how the next time will be.”

Eliza burst into the motel room and growled. Seven men were perched around the room like a murder of crows waiting for a dead carcass to manifest.

  “Where’s Riley?”

Eliza slammed the door shut and spun around to the inquiring male. Maddock, one of the stronger wolves, pressed off the wall and folded his arms over his thick chest. She narrowed her gaze on the defiant wolf, who puffed out his chest as he approached her. If he thought he was intimidating, he had a sore surprise waiting when he came within arm’s reach of her.

  “Taken,” she grunted.

“Taken?” another asked. Eliza waved that one’s concern away, refusing to take her attention off Maddock.

“Who took him, Liza? Riley doesn’t get taken without a fight.” Maddock took one more step before coming to a halt.

Just out of reach, son of a bitch.

Two other men flanked him, both with skepticism glinting in their eyes.

A bitter smile crossed her mouth. She could taste that bitterness on her tongue as if she’d just eaten weeds. She knew she’d have a problem with a few of the pack, but when they learned where Riley was, and who took him, the problem would dissipate.

Riley had formed this pack with one goal: If any white lived, they would hunt them down and slaughter them.

Little did he know that she urged some of her loyal companions to join up in the pack so she could slowly infiltrate Riley’s solid team of hunters until she took over.

“Have you no idea why we’re here?” Eliza asked.

“We’re here to kill the one that got away,” one of the wolves replied.

“We’re here to kill a white, and that same white had the aid of other wolves in kidnapping Riley. I’ve secured a scent path. We’ll be able to trace their movement and find Riley without a problem.” Eliza lifted a brow at Maddock, whose jaw twitched beneath a storm of disgust. “That’s right. The white is here. Another male drugged Riley, and he and the white hauled him away.”

Two wolves jumped to their feet and rushed to the door. Another followed in their footsteps. Maddock and his two hench pups continued to bore holes into her head with heated gazes.

It didn’t matter. What they didn’t know was that her men were waiting for this pathetic chunk of pack.

Maddock nodded once and led the last two wolves from the room.

Eliza’s smile grew when she heard a slew of curses echo into the night, mingled with the feral growls of the males of her pack. Nails scraped along the patchy gravel parking lot. Pained howls erupted amidst the brawl at her back. She wanted to watch and soak in the pleasure of seeing her pack take down some of Riley’s best men.

Now was not the time for fun.

Riley’s men might be battling hers for their lives—lives she could smell dwindling as the acrid scent of blood filtered through the crisp night air—but her goal still lay ahead.

It was time these fucking whites learned their place in the world.

Rotting away like the waste from last night’s kill.

  Chapter Seven

Aya stretched her arms over her head and smiled up at the shadowy ceiling. Her body ached pleasantly. The spicy and masculine scent of Lenox lingered over her skin. The taste of his hot mouth plagued her. Her lips were swollen from his starved kisses, and she drew her bottom one between her teeth with a soft giggle.

Ah, she could get used to the wild abandon that consumed her while making love with Lenox. Being appointed a mate like him was easy news to swallow, quite appealing actually.

Twenty minutes after Lenox slid out of the bedroom to cook up some steaks, she rolled out of the plush arms of the bed. She plucked an oversized T-shirt from his wardrobe, stole into the shower for a quick rinse, and changed.

“Little one, dinner will be ready in five. We’ll sit outside,” Lenox murmured within her mind. She couldn’t repress the smile that spread over her mouth, or the heat that swept across her face. Damn, the short replay of their intense bed play should have rendered her mortified. Instead, she found herself tingling with residual arousal and looking forward to another round with him.

  “Be right there.”

Aya slipped out of the bedroom and headed toward the kitchen. She paused outside Riley’s room. There was something about him that demanded her attention as forcefully as Lenox. The man slept like he was in pain, with a furrow between his brows and a grimace on his chiseled lips. He, too, had features that made her hot. His skin was smooth and a shade paler than Lenox’s, stretched over bone that brought out the finest points of his features. His jaw was square, his nose slightly more filled out than Lenox’s. His cheekbones enhanced the slant of his brows, adding shadows to every painstakingly perfect cut along the way. Brown hair with hints of orange and gold shimmered in lustrous waves beneath the single ceiling light. She recalled strands of his hair that weren’t pulled back at the nape of his neck blowing across his face, catching at the corner of his mouth just before Lenox had injected the drug into him. He had appeared every massive inch a predator who had just spotted a rare, delectable treat.

Grazing downward, Aya noted the width of his broad shoulders strained from having his wrists bound above his head. Lenox had set his leather jacket at the foot of the bed, leaving a hard-packed, muscled creature stretched from headboard to footboard.

No wonder the townsfolk moved around him with respectable berth. Even unconscious, he pulsed with predatory power. A shuttered air about him curled through her, eliciting her own deepening intrigue and attraction to a man she hadn’t spoken a single word to.

The wolf pacing below her surface mewled her own desires.

She moved closer to the bed and peered down at the sleeping Riley. Her heart did a double-pump. Weakness spread through her. The man ignited potent desires in her. Her gaze dropped to his hips, and the sight of his tented jeans over his jutting erection released a rush of wetness between her thighs. Her gaze shot up to his face. Still asleep.

Aya reached over and curled a lock of his hair around her fingers. Soft as satin, cool to the touch. His hair slid through her fingers like water. Damn, she wanted to curl up against him and nuzzle her cheek along his silky mane. Oh, no. She wanted to do much, much more than just nuzzle. She wanted his hair to tickle her skin as he kissed her. She wanted his strong hands to explore every inch of her body. Hell, she wanted to scream out his name as he possessed her, riding her to elation.

  “Aya? Coming?”

Aya spun away from the bed and hurried out of the room. Nuzzling would just have to wait.

  * * * *

His body felt like a hundred-ton brick as the veil of unconsciousness began to peel back. He groaned against the throbbing heaviness that pressed down on his chest and weighted down his legs. He reached up to knead out an aching knot from his neck only to realize the source of that knot.

“You fucking prick,” Riley grumbled, voice thick and scratchy from the drug. He blinked away residual fatigue. A sharp tug at the thick rope left his flesh raw. “Son of a bitch.”

His head lolled against the pillow. The muscles in his neck protested the weak motion as he observed the small room. Nothing but the bed and a small nightstand cluttered the space. Transparent curtains covered the only window in the room, to his right, barely masking the penetrating darkness beyond. Moonlight seeped into the room on a shimmering veil, casting a soft, pale luminescence over his body.

He bucked, the motion jerky. The ropes bit into his wrists. He grappled for the restraints with his fingers, working the drug out of his system. With each sharp movement, the haze receded from his mind, and the potent scent of blood touched his nostrils. Warmth trickled down his forearm. He looked up. The rope bit into the flesh at his wrists. Blood crept along his arm until it dripped onto the pillow next to his face.

Riley sucked in a deep breath, prepared to howl, when the intoxicating scent of the white wolf infiltrated his body. He sniffed sharply, turning his head to better follow the delightful scent. There. Right…

  My hair?

Desperate to follow her scent, Riley twisted his hands, grabbed hold of the rope, and ripped it through the headboard. He worked the knots loose and cast the bloodied rope aside, still tangled with splintered wood.

A deep howl penetrated the night. A second call echoed, softer, threatening.

Riley rolled onto his hands and knees, swaying against the rush of blood that poured through him. The lasting effects of the drug washed away. The air stirred, wrapping him in the delicious warmth of that fucking white’s scent blended with the potent air of sexual heat.

He growled, leaped to his feet, then stilled as he listened through the house. The inside of the dwelling was silent, all but for the hum of a kitchen fan. Mouthwatering scents of fresh meat and seasoning elicited a hunger he had suppressed far too long. Food would have to wait. He needed to find the white.

He despised the idea of not being able to transform into his wolf form. He had to be in prime condition when he discovered Lenox. His old nemesis had outwitted him twice in one day, a sour punch to Riley’s ego. It was time he turned teeth on him, aiming straight for the fucking bastard’s throat. He’d like to see Lenox try and save his little spiritually appointed mate while he lay dying.

The image left a bitter flavor in the back of his throat and a disturbing thought in his mind.

Could he mutilate the man who saved his furry tail so many times as young pups? Over a damn woman?

  “Riley? Are you here?”

Riley froze at the end of the hallway. Eliza’s voice drifted along his mind. He held his breath, glancing around a wide-open living room lined with windows. The tall redwoods of the forest beyond swayed in an eerie dance beneath the opulent moonlight. Cold blue-white rays drenched everything, casting haunting shadows across the yard.

He narrowed his eyes, pressing his back against the wall.

“Riley? We traced you back here. Are you in danger?”

Riley gritted his teeth and remained silent. He didn’t need a woman to rescue him. If he received another bruise to his already perforated ego, he’d snap. The last time he gave himself over to his wolf, he killed himself a half dozen deer, a bear, and nearly mutilated one of his pack mates who tried to calm him.

A flash of light darted between the trees outside. Riley lowered down to his hands and knees and crept along the floor of the house, keeping the tree line within sight. Another flash. A third. Wolves. His pack.

“Damnit, Riley. Answer me! Did she do something to you? I see her sitting outside with that other wolf. I’ll rip her head from her shoulders. I’ll mutilate that wretched bitch just like her father did to yours. I’ll kill her for you.”

The hairs along his arms stood on end. A deep, husky growl resonated at the base of his throat. How dare anyone threaten that white without his consent.

He slinked through the living room. The cold cast of moonlight over the polished hardwood floors slowly dissolved into the warm glow of firelight. He moved through the kitchen and came up short of the counter. Beyond the glass sliders he pinpointed Lenox first, settling himself in a chair. As the licking flames of the fire danced, he caught a glimpse of her.

Down the sloping hill off the porch, he caught the stealth movement of his pack weaving between the trees. His fingers curled against the wood floor, his joints swelling and popping. His wolf mewled for release, panting against the inside of his ears. Fur bristled as it stretched through his skin.

  No.

Riley focused on the pack slinking in the shadows. The breeze must be blo
wing downhill if Lenox hadn’t picked up on them yet. Either that, or the man was so enraptured by the white that he didn’t care.

The woman leaned over and connected a kiss that shot a shock wave of protest through him.

Riley pressed to his feet and approached the glass slider.

  “Riley.”

The sweet, sultry whisper flowed through his mind like silk in the breeze. He was transfixed on the very woman he wanted to kill, watching her kiss his nemesis with intensifying hunger.

The white’s eyes fluttered open. Her startling blue gaze locked with his. Her hand stretched out toward him. His cock, already at half-mast, swelled with a powerful desire. She called to him. Did Lenox know? Could he stand to watch Lenox claim her?

Suddenly, a burst of motion from the forest ripped his attention away from the couple. His wolf howled within him, pawing relentlessly for release.

Eliza’s icy tone growled, “She’s a dead wolf.”

  * * * *

Nox tore away from Aya’s mouth and pinpointed the source of the alien noises.

“Shit.” He pulled Aya off the chair and shoved her toward the house. “Get inside and don’t come out.”

His wolf emerged with a ferocity that reverberated in his ears, his body twisting and reforming. He leaped onto the wall around the fire pit and launched his massive form over the edge of the porch. His sharp nails dug into the soft ground beneath his paws. He crouched back, ears resting flat against his head. He growled his warning to the swiftly approaching pack.

A piercing noise shattered the tense air. Aya shrieked. He jerked his elongated head, spotted her amidst a shower of fiery glass shards, and—
