“All right,” I said as I followed him back to the car. Once we got in, he pulled off. I pulled my phone out and sent Mimi a text. She texted me back within a minute. I smiled, placed my phone back into my purse, and sat back.
“Are you okay over there?” Mark asked me.
“Yeah, I’m fine, baby. I’m just fine,” I said, placing my hand over his. I reached over and kissed him. It was in that moment I vowed to myself that I was not about to let Weedy or nobody else come in and fuck our life up. We’d come too far, and this peace and happiness was what we all needed. I wasn’t going to let anyone fuck that shit up!
Epilogue
Mimi
Hey, everyone. How’s it going? Well, I hope. Well, I know y’all are probably wondering how life turned out with Jayden and I’m here to tell y’all that everything was great. He was a wonderful man and father to the kids. I’m not going to lie. At first shit wasn’t all that gravy. We used to fuss and fight like no other, but don’t get it twisted. He never once put his hands on me. He was a real man, one that Kaylin wished he could’ve been. I’m not going to front on y’all though. There was a few times when I wanted to pack my shit up and leave, but I didn’t, because every time I’d try to, I remembered everything we’d went through and it was a lot—too much to just try to throw everything away. Besides, that nigga was in love with my ass. He wasn’t trying to let me go, no matter how many times I packed my bags and threatened to leave. He’d be like, “Mimi, we in this shit together. I don’t care how mad any of us gets. We ain’t going to leave one another. If I get mad or you get mad at me, we gon’ talk this shit out. We ain’t come this far to leave and go be with somebody else.” So, yup, that nigga was everything I needed and then some.

“Babe, you ready to go?” he asked, walking in on me.
“Yeah, let me send an e-mail to Ambria right fast. I’ll meet you downstairs in a minute,” I said, looking up from the computer.
“Well, hurry up. You know the movers will be here soon, and we gotta get going before we be stuck in traffic,” he said, standing behind me.
“All right, boo, I’m almost done,” I said, reaching up and giving him a passionate kiss.
“Don’t start no shit, ma,” he said, pulling back.
“I’m not. I’ll save that shit for when we get to our new house,” I said, laughing.
“Uh-huh, keep playing and watch me put one in you.”
“It’s too late for that, nigga,” I said, rubbing my growing belly.
“Yeah,” he said, bending over and kissing my baby bump. “I can’t wait to meet my princess.”
“I can’t wait to get her active ass up out of me,” I said, faking as if I was mad. “She been giving my ass the blues lately.”
“You better leave my baby alone,” he said, beaming with pride. “She gon’ be feisty, just like her mama.”
“Daddy, the movers are here,” Cam said from the door.
“Okay. I’ll be right down,” he said to him.
“Okay,” he replied and left.
“Hurry up, before you make us late,” he said, heading for the door. “And tell Ambria I said what’s up with her fine ass.”
“Boy, bye, I can tell you that girl is not checking for you,” I said, laughing. “She already got a man.”
“Who, that nigga Donovan?” he asked, turning around.
“Yesssssss, and he’s so fucking cute. Me and her might have to trade niggas,” I joked.
“Yeah, don’t get yourself fucked up,” he said seriously. “Tell li’l sis the minute that nigga act up, she knows how to reach me.”
“I’m pretty sure that she can handle her own, but I’ll tell her,” I said, laughing. I didn’t know how they became so close, but their relationship was so strong, you’d think that they were actually brother and sister.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m still going to have her back, just in case. Now hurry the hell up, before I have that nigga Donovan coming to pick your ass up.”
“Well, in that case, I’ll take my time then.”
“You already know what it’s hitting for, Mimi,” was all he said before he left.
Well, y’all, it’s about time that I get myself up on out of here. I’m hungry, and this little girl is in here kicking the hell out of my stomach. Oh, her name is Jakayla. She’s due this fall, and I can’t wait to meet her little ass. I hope that she won’t be as bad as her brothers and sisters. Her father is more excited than I am. He’s finally getting his first and last princess, because I’m tying my tubes after this baby. I’m not trying to be like that lady on 19 Kids and Counting. All them damn kids ain’t what I’m trying to do.
“Mimi,” Jayden yelled.
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” I said, getting up from the chair.
Well, I hope y’all enjoyed my story, and I thank you, Ambria, for helping me share the shit. Love you, sissy! Until next time, I’ll see y’all later. At least I hope there won’t be a next time.
“Amina,” Jayden yelled again. This nigga was really starting to work my nerves again. He knew that shit wasn’t good for the baby.
Anyways, see y’all baddies and hood niggas later. I’m Amina. Don’t forget the name either. Peace!
