“Thank you, Prime Leader KadEN.”
KadEN greeted JadEN by clasping forearms. “Welcome, Medic JadEN. Is this your first visit to Kiljor?”
“It is. I’m looking forward to meeting your people and seeing your home world.”
“Lead Medic TorIS wanted to be here to greet you but he’s giving Lindsey a checkup in our suite so that she doesn’t tire herself out. He said that he would come to your suite afterwards to speak with you in private.”
“Is Prima Lindsey due soon?” JadEN asked.
“Yes, just a couple more weeks.”
“The Goddess has blessed you, Prime Leader,” JadEN said with a little bit of envy. He glanced briefly over at Rose, who was staring at the surrounding buildings in awe. An image of her round with his young popped into his head, and he couldn’t shake it easily. She would be a wonderful mother.
He watched as Rose looked over Kiljor in amazement. She found everything new and wondrous. It made him look at things that way too. What did she think of the city below her, with its shiny metal buildings? It was so consumed with her he almost didn’t hear what Prime Leader KadEN was saying.
“She has indeed. I will have the lieutenants here show you all to you to your rooms. I have to attend a debrief meeting with Commander TylOR and StrykER, but I hope that you both will accept an invitation to join me and my Lindsey for evening meal in our suite.” He included Rose in the invitation.
“I would enjoy that, thank you, Prime Leader.” Rose spoke. JadEN nodded his agreement.
“Great. I’ll send someone later this evening to escort you both.”
JadEN motioned for Rose to move ahead of him as they followed the lieutenants towards the lift. He put his hand possessively on the small of her back. He didn’t care for the way the males were looking at Rose one bit.
“Everything okay?” Rose asked. “You seem very tense. You are growling a lot. If you were on Earth someone might mistake you for a wolf.” .
“I’m fine. How are you feeling? Are you tired?” He studied her face, noting the dark circles under her eyes.
“I didn’t sleep well.”
“Neither did I.” They looked at each other without saying anything else.
When the lift stopped they followed the lieutenants down the long corridor. The inside of the building was similar to the outside, with a silver and grey color scheme. They stopped at their rooms which were two doors apart from one another. JadEN didn’t like having any distance between them at all.
“I’ll see you later.” Rose entered her suite and shut the door behind her.
Kitana. JadEN wanted to have some time alone with her. But the Lead Medic would be coming by his suite soon, and he had to await him and find out how much access to medical records he would be granted.
He entered his own suite and walked down the short hallway, finding it familiar to the suites on Katiera. There was a bedroom door to the right, and to the left it opened up into the main living space. There was a small table with four chairs and a kitchenette. Balcony doors opened up to a view of the city. It was peaceful there. Katiera had been all he had known. He needed to focus on the task at hand instead of the landscape.
Before he left Katiera Prime, Medic SydEL had given him specific instructions on what to research. He needed to review Prima Lindsey’s medical records, along with Prime Leader KadEN’s. Earth females were obviously compatible with his people and the Kiljorns, and if the breeding rumors were true about Miss Marquessa, who was now mated to Leader LarIS from the Colonial planet, then Earth females could successfully breed with the Colonists too.
He was amazed that despite the differences that had separated the three nations years ago, they could all find commonality in breeding with the Earth females. It was a testament to how much his people needed these females.
He was still distracted by his thoughts when his doorbell sounded.

Prime Leader KadEN, Commander TylOR, and StrykER entered the meeting room and took their seats. KadEN motioned for one of his lieutenants to close the door. “StrykER, what have you discovered from your interrogation of the prisoners?”
StrykER relayed his findings. “This rebellion is more far-reaching than we had anticipated. There seem to be followers of this Rebel Leader OrIN on Katiera, the Colonial planet, and on Kiljor.”
“Who are they? I want names,” KadEN demanded.
StrykER shook his head. “The prisoners didn’t know all the rebels.” He snorted, and continued, “I had to separate the female from the males. She seemed to be stronger in will and mind, and she easily controlled the males, keeping them from giving me information. Once I had the brother by himself, he opened up with little persuasion. He seems to think that Rebel Leader OrIN will send someone to rescue them. I got the same impression from the other male prisoner.”
“If there are rebel followers here on Kiljor, we cannot trust anyone.” KadEN rubbed his chin in frustration.
“I can interview your personal security team if you like. It’s critical that your mate’s security is cleared. From what the male prisoners told me, the rebel leader plans to make a strike against any Earth female mates.” StrykER hesitated for a moment before he finished, “And any mixed-breed offspring.”
KadEN stood up, slamming his fists against the table. “He wants to hurt innocent females and young? OrIN dares to go against the Prime Laws?” He couldn’t understand this. His people worshipped a Goddess, and their whole culture was centered around protecting women and the young. It was inconceivable.
“Yes, sir. Rebel Leader OrIN has made it clear he plans to overthrow the current Katieran leadership.”
“This is pure treason!” He looked at StrykER. “I want you to immediately interview everyone who has contact with my Lindsey. I want anyone suspicious removed from the Prime building. I will not have my mate and young threatened.” He turned to Commander TylOR. “Get me secured communications with Prime Leader RendEL and Colonial Leader LarIS. I need to let them know how serious this is.”
“Prime Leader, I think that it would be wise to send out a public address to all of Kiljor, letting everyone know that any who follow this rebel leader or harbor the rebel followers will be considered a traitor to their people, and a threat to Kiljor and the Prime family. A reminder to all that any attempt to harm an Earth female or mixed-breed young will result in death,” Commander TylOR recommended.
“I disagree with that recommendation,” StrykER spoke up.
“What do you suggest, then?” KadEN asked. He was concerned just as TylOR for the safety of their mates.
“You already have three traitors captured. It is true that if you kill them after giving that announcement it might slow down the movement by the rebels, but it could also be used against you. I think you should wait to make that announcement a little while longer. Allow one of the male prisoners to escape, and follow him. He could lead us directly to Rebel Leader OrIN. If we can take out the leader of the rebellion, we might be able to end this completely without too much bloodshed.”
KadEN looked at TylOR, who nodded to indicate that he thought it was a plausible idea. “Who would you recommend risk his life to try to infiltrate the rebellion?”
“Myself, of course,” StrykER said automatically.
“Are you sure you wish to do this?” Prime Leader KadEN asked.
“It’s the only way to infiltrate the rebel group,” StrykER told him.
“You do realize that most of our people will think you are a traitor. You will be completely on your own, without assistance,” Commander TylOR explained to him.
“I understand the risks involved. I have no family or close friends to worry about or that will miss me. I’m the only person qualified to be put in this position.”
“Then I wish you good luck with your mission. When do you want to begin?”
“The sooner the better.”

It had been a few hours since he had left Rose. He had come over to
her suite with good intentions. After he was done with the Lead Medic he had plenty of time to think about what he wanted to say to her, and he wanted to do what no other of his kind had done: he wanted to properly woo Rose, to allow her to get to know him better as he got to know her better. It was the smart thing to do. He stood at her suite door and rang the bell.
She opened the door and looked a little surprised to see him. “JadEN? What are you doing here? I was just getting ready for dinner with Prime Leader KadEN and his mate. Is there something you wanted?”
All his carefully made plans seemed to go right out of his head. His heart raced when he saw her standing there. The moment he saw her in her little skin-tight dress, her long red hair cascading down her shoulders, his body felt like it was on fire with need.
He didn’t give her a chance to refuse him, just took her into his arms and lifted her up. His mouth came down on hers, devouring her like a male starving. Holding her to him, he carried her to the nearest bedroom and placed her on the bed, then stood back up and started removing his clothes.
“Wait! We don’t have time for this,” she protested, but she wasn’t really fighting him or pushing him away.
“Oh, there’s time.” JadEN dropped his pants and was pleased when her eyes fell to his enlarged cock.
Rose licked her lips. “You...you left the door open. Anyone could walk in on us.”

Rose walked next to JadEN down the corridor towards Prime Leader KadEN’s suite. They’d had just enough time to get dressed for the dinner before one of the security liaisons showed up to escort her. They didn’t talk about what hap
pened, but it was like an elephant in the room neither were ready to face.
She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Her thoughts were racing; she didn’t know which way to go. This wasn’t like her. She always knew her mind and what she wanted. She prided herself, too, on knowing what others thought or felt. But she glanced over at JadEN and was at a complete loss.
After they made love, JadEN had silently pulled out of her. He turned to lay on his side and held her close to him, caressing her body. She didn’t say anything either, afraid of ruining the moment, but that moment soon became uncomfortably quiet. Neither of them were ready to address the biggest issue: JadEN hadn’t pulled out of her, he had spilled his seed inside her. That was an informal claiming to his people. But JadEN didn’t excuse it as an accident, he didn’t apologize for not asking first, he didn’t even admit that it was what he desired. It left her feeling very unsure of everything.
The security liaison stopped in front of the Prime’s suite and rang the bell, then turned and left them alone. Rose wrapped her arms around herself in a hug, not looking at JadEN. She could feel him watching her, and she wondered what he was thinking about.
“Rose…” JadEN started to reach for her, but the door was suddenly opened. He turned to greet the Prime Leader.
“Sir, thank you for inviting us this evening.” He clasped forearms with the Kiljorn leader.
“I’m grateful to have the company. My Lindsey is breeding and has not been able to move around as she would like. She enjoys having company come by.” Prime Leader KadEN nodded respectfully at Rose. “Thank you for coming this evening, Dr. Garrett.”
“I appreciate the invitation.” She smiled at the prime leader while avoiding eye contact with JadEN. She felt even more distance from him than before. This was going to be an awkward evening. Both men moved to the side so that she could walk past them into the suite. She noticed KadEN leaning forward and sniffing at her, then he looked over at JadEN. They had some kind of silent communication. She wasn’t sure what that was all about, but they had a quick conversation whispered so low she couldn’t hear what they said.
