Speaking of which…
Like a mentalist, he reads my thoughts.
“Oh, don’t you worry about that, love. I found out yesterday about the money that’s coming to me, and it’s a bit more than I was expecting.” Leaning in close, he puts his arm around me and whispers a sum in my ear.
“Golly!” All my worries about overspending on chairs and the cost of renovating our treasured Victorian home melt away like the pain of a spanking does when I shimmer in the heavenly bliss of orgasm.
I give him a hug. We were always going to be able to manage, but not having to scrimp and save anymore is just…well…brilliant!
“Ah, but you must have bought this well before you knew about the money.”
I give him an arch look. The devil, he’s just as extravagant as I am.
His grin is beautiful, boyish, sheepish and adorable. “Well…it was a bit of a gamble. Worth it though, eh?”
Strange thoughts pass through my head. Strange, and deliciously exciting. I’m too tired to do anything about them now, but one day, yes, maybe…one day.
“You’re a wickedly extravagant man, Simon Whittingtry. Needlessly and recklessly extravagant.” I narrow my eyes at him, then laugh. “I adore my gift, love, really I do. It’s perfect.” I pause, and run my tongue across my lower lip, as if savoring something piquant, something new. “But one of these days, I might just have to teach you a lesson.”
I cast a significant look at the back of the red chair, the new one, then glance back to Simon just as significantly.
He laughs, but his blue eyes are wide. Full of fire and expectation and desire.
