When she was done, she looked up at them, looking happy and satisfied. “Did I bring you pleasure?”

Nathaniel had never felt so satisfied.

Both he and Parker nodded, too overcome with emotion to speak.

“My grandmother will up soon,” she said breathlessly.

Nathaniel brushed his lips against her hair before standing to get dressed.

Parker’s lips followed his, lingering for a moment before he said, “That was amazing, Amber. You brought us more pleasure than you could ever imagine.”

“I loved what just happened. I want to do it again.”

Both brothers couldn’t help but laugh, and then they checked themselves. Neither wanted to make their presence known to Bess Linden, who they both prayed silently was still asleep.

Nathaniel heard the sound before Parker did, and with a wink to Amber, he shoved Parker out the window, following close behind him.

Over his shoulder, Nathaniel watched Amber turn as there was a knock and then the door of her room opened. Her grandmother stood in the doorway.

“I thought I heard you talking to someone,” her grandmother questioned.

“Just me, talking to myself,” Amber said, averting her eyes and tightening the sash on her robe.

  “I’m going to start breakfast.”

“Of course. I’m going to take a quick shower first, and then I’ll be down.”

“You best put some clothes on before you do,” her grandmother said, her eyes searching the room as she spoke. Without another word, she shut the door.

Nathaniel could feel how much she hated lying to her grandmother, but he was thankful that she hadn’t told her about them. They should be the ones to tell Bess. However, he wasn’t so sure that the woman didn’t already have a sense of them from the way her eyes had surveyed the room.

As quickly as they had left her, they reentered her room. She looked up in surprise.

  “You came back.”

“We’ll always come back. We’re not through with you yet,” Nathaniel said as he walked toward her.

“We have some time. Lie back down on the bed,” he ordered.

Her lips were quivering as she asked, “What are you going to do?”

”Spread your legs, Amber,” Parker told her.

They watched as she did as they commanded without hesitation. Nathaniel slid between her legs, his tongue seeking her heat. Her pussy tasted even better than he could have imagined as he fucked her pussy with his tongue.

He lifted his head as Parker kissed her long, his fingers pulling on her rose-colored buds. He heard her moan into Parker’s mouth.

Returning to her swollen pussy, he continued to ravish her with his mouth. “You taste so fucking good, baby,” he said from between her legs.

Parker was kissing her belly as his hand reached down and cupped her pussy, finding her clit that Nathaniel then took between his teeth. She was making mewing sounds that were like music to his ears. He normally would have prolonged her orgasm, but time wasn’t on their side and they wanted to give her the pleasure she had given so eagerly to them.

He tasted her orgasm as she bucked upward. He smiled up at Parker, who immediately took his place.

“Oh God, Amber,” Parker said. “I never want to stop drinking you.”

He watched his brother and smiled. Taking her in his arms, he held her until she stopped shaking.

“What have you done to me?” she whispered. “I’ve never felt anything like what you just did to me.”

“Your pleasure is our pleasure,” Nathaniel said softly, still holding her as Parker crawled up to them, laying his head between her breasts.

“We couldn’t leave you without thanking you for bringing us such pleasure,” his brother said huskily.

“And Markus,” she said, her eyes looking into his. “Will he want me, too?”

“Close your eyes and think of him.”

She did, and when she opened them, she smiled.

  Chapter Six

Amber had sensed Markus in her mind, and she had known that he wanted her every bit as much as his brothers. But it still didn’t help that she knew Mardi would be upset. She loved her cousin and didn’t want to do anything that would hurt her. However, she knew with certainty that she would not be able to deny them or herself.

“Mardi had a crush on Markus long before he returned home from school. But it had never been anything more until Mardi decided it was time to take matters into her own hands. She pursued him and he enjoyed the attention. He tried to keep her at a distance, but she kept breaking down his barriers. Unfortunately, one night when he met her at a local hangout, things went too far and they made out. For Mardi that meant they were to be bonded. By the time, Markus realized Mardi was planning their china pattern, it was too late. Her imagination had twisted reality into a fantasy that she was convinced would have her bonded with Markus.” Nathaniel shook his head sadly.

“When she finally couldn’t deny the truth any longer, she was sure that Parker and I had convinced Markus to stop seeing her. To say she was devastated is an understatement.”

“She’s still devastated,” Amber said sadly.

“I know,” Nathaniel shook his head. “She made up entire scenarios in her head that had no base in reality. It was bizarre behavior, especially for a Witch.”

“Her father actually came to see us.” Parker stepped in when Nathaniel took a breath. “Luckily, he’s a pretty nice guy and didn’t get too crazy when we told him the truth that he had suspected all along. But she’s his daughter, and he knew she was hurting. He thought the situation could have been handled better, and he was right.”

Nathaniel shrugged his shoulders, looking anywhere but at Amber. “Her father said Markus should have told him as soon as he realized things were out of hand and that his behavior had encouraged her fantasy to feed his own ego. He didn’t want to think that Mardi was entirely to blame for the one-sided relationship.”

“But in the end,” Nathaniel sighed, “he knew it was Mardi that needed professional help to come to terms with her feelings.”

“Believe me, Amber,” Parker said, his eyes staring into her own, “when we want a woman, she’ll be the first to know, and there will be no mistake about our intentions.”

  * * * *

Amber turned away from the intensity of Nathaniel’s stare. Regardless of the one-sided relationship, her cousin had been hurt by Markus, and in her mind Nathaniel and Parker had turned their brother against her. How humiliating it must have been for Mardi to be forced to realize that whatever feelings she thought Markus had for her had only been in her head.

She wished she knew how to control the burning desire inside of her that was pushing her closer to the brothers in a direction that, if Mardi found out, would open old wounds. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt her cousin who was not completely over her infatuation with Markus.

She could more than understand why Mardi had been attracted to Markus. Alone he was everything a woman could want. However, for her it was him and his brothers combined that brought a whole new meaning to the word irresistible. Parker wasn’t as handsome as Nathaniel and Markus. However, he had a magnetism that drew her to him without words. Parker spoke to her heart with his eyes. She loved having his hands on her, stoking the fires that burned within her. Nathaniel made her weak with her desire for him, but also pushed her to not be afraid of who she was when she was with them. And Markus, he was sweet and kind, and with him she was lost forever in connection that had drawn her to him. How could she possibly not be with all three of them, but how would her family react knowing the impact it would have on Mardi? “Mardi and your family will understand,” Parker said. “She may be angry at first, but the last time I ran into her father, he said her therapist had helped her. She has an obsessive-compulsive nature that she needed to understand in order to control.”

“Witches go to therapy?” Amber was shocked. “Somehow I thought a Witch had the power to figure ou
t life’s mysteries.”

“We bleed and have mental breakdowns just like the Outsiders, Amber. Mardi will find her destiny. It’s just not with us. Destiny is something you’ll learn you can’t deny.”

She wanted to believe Parker’s words, but his last sentence had sounded more like a warning than an explanation.

Nathaniel kissed her before he and Parker helped her up from the bed.

“You need to shower and get dressed, “Nathaniel told her. “Your grandmother’s going to wonder where you are.”

She felt Nathaniel’s breath in her hair as he turned her toward him, putting his finger beneath her chin to tip her head upward. Before she realized his intentions, his lips were on hers and his tongue had slipped between her lips. She opened her mouth. The kiss deepened.

Parker came up from behind her, holding her against his chest as his hand reached around her to pull on her nipples. She moaned into Nathaniel’s mouth.

“You can’t deny us, Amber, or yourself,” Nathaniel breathed, his lips now hovering over hers. “Community Day is in two weeks. We want you, and we’re going to have you. It’s better that you prepare your family.”

“I don’t know,” she whispered. She couldn’t deny that she wanted to be with them, but it wasn’t that simple.

“It’s exactly that simple,” Nathaniel said, reminding her that sometimes her thoughts, when unguarded, were more like words.

She simply shook her head, unable to speak.

“There is no escaping your destiny,” Parker reiterated. “Denying what you want will only lead to your fighting the inevitable. Don’t overthink this.”

Again, she thought she heard a hint of warning in his voice.

“We have to go,” Nathaniel told her.

She watched as he and Parker walked to the opposite side of the room. They both turned toward the window, and with a nod of their heads, they were gone. She collapsed in a heap onto the floor. How could this have happened so quickly? Was it really only a month ago she had learned she was a Witch whose body and mind were capable of so much more than she could have ever thought possible? And now, here she was, taking yet another step into their world that was where she wanted not only to be with one man but three. The problem, of course, was Mardi.

Picking herself up, she went to the bathroom and washed and then quickly dressed and went downstairs to where her grandmother waited for her.

Her grandmother looked up as she entered the kitchen. “You certainly took your time. I thought maybe you fell back to sleep. Did you?”

“No. I just got lost in my thoughts.”

  “That’s all?” her grandmother asked.

“I’ve had a lot to think about since I walked through your door,” Amber said, sitting down at the table in front of the plate of cold eggs and bacon. She noticed her grandmother didn’t offer to heat it up.

“To use a cliché, I may be old, but I’m not stupid. Why don’t you tell me the truth? Do you think so little of me? I thought you trusted me. Was I wrong?”

Amber felt her appetite leave her. Her grandmother knew. She had to. Otherwise she wouldn’t be putting her on the spot like this. She hated lying to anyone, and especially someone who had treated her with such kindness. Parker and Nathaniel said she had to prepare her family. She knew she had to tell her the truth.

“I went flying last night…by myself.”

“You shouldn’t have done that. You’re not ready,” her grandmother said sharply.

“I know that now. I just thought I could do it, and I was until Markus Carrington surprised me and I lost my concentration. I fell and he caught me, but I hit a tree branch or something and was knocked out.”

“Dear God, Amber,” her grandmother all but shouted. “You could have been killed, and I would have lost you forever. I would have wanted to die myself. I couldn’t go through that again.”

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t want you to know.”

“Oh, Amber, did you really think you could hide it from me? Tell me everything.”

“Markus took me to his home, and his brother Nathaniel checked me over to make sure I didn’t have any injuries other than a bump on the head.”

“And that was all there was to it?”

“No,” Amber said hesitantly. “There’s more.”

“I had a feeling,” her grandmother said as she took her coffee cup and sat down next to Amber.”

“Nathaniel and Parker came to my room this morning. They wanted to be sure I was okay.”

“Did they, now? Why do I think there was a lot more to that visit than that?”

“I’m so confused,” Amber said, her lip quivering. “I know about them and Mardi, and I know you don’t like them…but there’s an attraction between us that I can’t explain. They feel it, too. They want me.”

“What did they do to you? I need to know, Amber.”

Amber shook her head. “Nana, please. I can’t tell you that.”

Her grandmother looked away, a tear in her eye. “I thought we’d have more time,” she said softly.

  “You knew about them?”

“I knew you were meant to be here, and I suspected a man or men would be involved. But I didn’t know it would be them until this morning when I felt they were near.”

“When you came to my room, why didn’t you say anything?”

“I knew they were still about, and this wasn’t a conversation I wanted to have with them.”

  “Oh.”

“Mardi will need to be told. This will be difficult for her. I just hope it doesn’t set her back. She has made such progress.”

“No. I won’t let that happen.”

“How can you stop it? You want them. They want you. It’s destiny. It’s out of your control. It’s our way.”

“What can I do? I have to stop this. I can stop this. I have to.”

“You still know so little about our ways, Amber. You can’t stop what’s written in the stars. Those boys have been on many a young Witch’s radar, but they have never succumbed, never bonded with any of them. I thought maybe Mardi had broken through and was the one, but that was all in her head.”

“I don’t want Mardi to hate me. I couldn’t bear it.”

“I’ll tell Mardi. She has to know before this becomes public knowledge. We have to prepare her.”

“But what if she can’t handle it?”

“There’s one thing that could help.”

  “What?”

“She’s always wanted to travel. Not something her parents were too keen on, but at this point, I think they will see their way through it and let her go. I could go with her.”

“You would leave me?” Amber said, feeling panic.

“You won’t be alone. You’ll be with them.”

“Maybe,” she said hopefully, “it’s just an infatuation like Mardi’s and it won’t last. Maybe she doesn’t have to know. It could be over before it’s begun.”

“You don’t believe that, and neither do I. They’ve told you they want you, and from what you’ve told me, you’ve already given yourself to them. There’s no going back now. What’s done is done.”

“I can’t lose you. It took me too long to find you.”

“We aren’t losing each other. I’m just going away with Mardi for an extended visit to some old friends of mine that live in various parts of the world. Who knows, maybe she’ll meet someone in our travels.”

“Do you think Mardi will ever forgive me?”

“There’s nothing to forgive and with some distance and time she’ll see that.”

  “They mentioned Community Day.”

“It’s where those Witches who have bonded make their intentions known, and ask for the blessing of the Coven Elders.”

“You think that Nathaniel, Parker, and Markus will do that with me?”

“I know they will, and then you are theirs. They will take you home with them. It’s like a marriage in the world you lived in.”

  Amber looked at her grandmoth
er, totally shocked. “I can’t leave this house. I can’t go with them just like that.”

“You will go. Your body and your mind will not allow you to do otherwise. Right now, you’re with me and you don’t feel their pull as strongly, but as soon as they see you, you won’t be able to fight it. Mardi and I will leave before Community Day. I just have to convince her parents that it’s for the best, but that shouldn’t be too difficult. They know I wouldn’t want to do this if I didn’t think it was necessary. Mardi won’t take too much convincing, especially once she knows about you and the Carrington brothers.”

Amber couldn’t help the tears that splashed down her cheeks. She hadn’t cried like this since her mother and father had sent her packing without a backward glance. She put her head in her hands as the sobs overtook her.

“I’m such a disappointment,” she said between sobs.

It’s not your fault, Amber,” her grandmother said softly. “It’s obvious now that those boys have been waiting for you to come here. That’s why they could never bond with anyone else. It was always you. You can’t fight it, so don’t try. It will only make everything more difficult for you, and the end result will be the same.”

She heard Parker’s words in her grandmother’s. He had said practically the same thing to her. She was their destiny, and they were hers. She wanted them, but at what price?

“I’m going over to see Mardi and her family. You stay here. I’m not sure how long I’ll be gone, but I should back before dinner.”

Amber nodded. She took a couple deep breaths, trying to calm herself. “None of the family will be at the dance, will they?”

“Your family loves you every bit as much as Mardi. They will know this is the way it has to be, and they will support you as I do. It’s just that right now, Mardi needs me to help her through this.”

“I understand. I’ll miss you so much.”

“And I’ll miss you, granddaughter. But I’ll be with you in spirit. I love you, and in time, we’ll all be together again, even Mardi.”

“I hope so,” Amber said softly. “I need you and my family in my life. I’ve been away from you so long. I wish this had never happened.”
