“Lie on your back,” she whispered, but he was already flattening himself to the blanket next to her.

She removed the rest of her clothes, hurrying so he would not have to wait, though she enjoyed the feel of his intense eyes upon her, watching her every move. She came down beside him and let her hands roam across his chest as she found a comfortable position. She rubbed her face through his wiry curls, inhaling his scent, finding him clean but undeniably masculine. She ran her tongue along his length while she lightly stroked his balls. Judging by the tension in his body, he couldn’t take too much teasing. Indeed, an image entered her mind, of her taking him deep and fast, the utter longing accompanying it making it clear the idea had come from him. Perhaps, like her, he was beyond the use of words.

She shifted to the tip of his cock and took him in her mouth. He gasped and arched up toward her. She wrapped both hands around him, taking him deeper, wanting so much to match the gift he had given her, to thank him for coming into the mountain with her, and for finding her again tonight, for making this special.

Wishing she had his power to use her mind to please multiple parts of him at once, she did her best, stroking with her hands while she took him in and out.

“You’re brilliant,” he breathed. Female dragons never care about pleasing the male. This is... you’re amazing.

His words reached her on a level that even his magic could not have. A feeling of warmth filled her, a desire to make this wonderful for him. Soft moans of enthusiasm escaped her throat, and even though she was focused on him, her body grew feverish and excited again. A swirl of sensation curled through her groin, his mental touch like fire between her legs. Though she was suddenly aware of her own greedy desire for pleasure again, she kept attending to him, wanting her own touch to leave him trembling.

“Zala,” he whispered, almost a plea. “I want—” He couldn’t articulate the rest, but this time the image in her mind was of them coming together.

She had barely lifted her mouth from him when he gripped her, guiding her to the blanket. He kissed her as his cock nudged her lower lips, straining against her. She would have spread eagerly for him no matter what, but another spiral of heat flooded her core, leaving her squirming for relief.

“Take me, Talon,” she urged, opening herself to him, gripping his shoulders as if she could force him to ram into her. She wanted him hard and fast, tight and full.

He knew it. He plunged into her, as if he had been dreaming of nothing else for the weeks they had been apart. She met his unrestrained thrusts, needing this just as much as he did. The stars blurred above her, and she lost awareness of anything except him. Waves of pleasure crashed through her as their frenzied need swept them quickly toward the cliff of their desire. When they came, it was at the same time, crying out and grasping at each other, holding tight as their mutual release poured forth.

Zala collapsed, breathless, under him. She didn’t even have the strength to keep an arm hooked around his shoulders.

Talon grabbed a blanket and pulled it over them, then shifted around and maneuvered her atop him, his arm wrapped around her waist. “Amazing,” he whispered and tucked escaped strands of hair behind her ears.

“Yes, you were.” She grinned, enjoying having him wrapped around her.

“I want you every night, Zala,” he said with determined earnestness, sliding a hand down to cup her butt, as if to deny her any possibility of escape.

As if she wanted to go anywhere.

  “Many times,” he added.

She chuckled and kissed him. “Don’t we ever get to sleep?”

“I thought that with your coffee beans, you did not require sleep.”

“That’s not quite how it works.” She smiled against his lips. “Though I am an early riser.”

“Mm, excellent. And will I be allowed to share your tent?” His eyebrows arched, a rare hint of concern in his eyes. A faint stirring returned to her groin, a tease and a promise, as if he had to bribe her to ensure she wanted to keep him close.

“Gods,” she breathed, that aching need returning to her. “If all of your kind knew they could do that to humans, you could have taken over without a drop of blood being spilled. We’d fall to our knees and beg you to have sex with us.”

“I don’t think I’ll let them know about that. Now tell me,” he murmured, sending another wave of pleasure through her, “will I be allowed to share your tent?”

With her need building anew, she kissed him hard, possessively. “As if I would let you share someone else’s tent. You’re mine, Dragon Eyes.”

His face relaxed into the most contented expression, and she realized he must have been worrying about that. Her troops might object to him at first, but they wouldn’t for long, not if he fought with them. Even if they did object, she would keep him in the camp—in her tent—regardless. She had been making sacrifices for more than twenty years, giving everything to the service and to king and country. One way or another, she would keep Talon in her life, walking at his side and enjoying his company. And enjoying him in bed too.

“Don’t get too relaxed,” she said. “You started something that needs to be finished.”

He chuckled and sent fresh waves of pleasure through her. “Gladly.”

  THE END
