  To Keisha, I love you forever. #Delilah #FatHog #Bestie #WiBettaThanNumber8

To Al, YOU ARE. That is the beginning, that is the end, that is everything.

To Robin Hill, thank you for being so damn amazing, and hilarious. I admire the way you are so supportive of other authors, how far you go to cheer them on. You are such a remarkable person and I love the crap out of you.

To Jennifer Belyeu, my cuppy cake, gum drops, snukum-snukums! Who takes the time out of her busy days to beta read for me. You do not know this, but I always wait with baited breath for your feedback. You know your shit, tell it like it is, and though I might whine at first, I always take your suggestions. I take your feedback as gospel. You get me, and that is all a writer could ask for. Thanks for checking up on me when I forget to, even though you’re just as busy, if not more, than me. I have no excuse. I’m just an asshole. But assholes need good people in their lives to reassure them that there is hope in the world after all, and you are one of those good people.

To beta readers, April M, Sarah J, and Jessica M. Thanks for helping me whip this bad boy into shape! Loads of love.

To my editor Nina Bruhns, thank you for taking a chance on Free Hostage. It has been a bumpy ride shaping this book to its full potential, but here we are. I’m grateful. Thank you!

Last but not least, to my readers. I know, I know, it’s been damn near two years since my last release, and you guys were just about ready to lynch me. But, look! Here it is! Are you happy? I’m so sorry. Life happened, you know? Thank you for sticking around. Thank you for emailing me on the reg to let me know you’re still there and still waiting. Thank you for remaining loyal even if you hated one or more of my releases. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The day you stop believing in me is the day I will stop writing.

  One Love.

  One Heart.

  One Blood.

  About the Author

  S. Ann Cole is an exaggerator, a laugher, sometimes overly chatty, sometimes overly shy. She’s afraid of cats, dogs, and snakes. She hates fireworks, schmaltz and arrogance. She loves carbs, full moons and humility. Jokey people are her favorite, as laughter is the way to her heart. An accented island girl, an optimistic self-publisher, Ann hopes that one day, the right day, when it’s her time (because nothing happens before its time), her hard work will be noticed and appreciated. When Ann’s not abusing her computer keyboard, you can find her nosing a novel, watching anything on television that makes her laugh until she breaks into hiccups, studying the Bible, or sipping red wine.
