“I would,” he looked up at her with a naughty smile and hot eyes. She only had on his long shirt, so she was bare underneath. She was going to have to remember to bring her clothes to her room. She was so tired lately, but she was going to get unpacked before work tonight.

“Do you know how hard it was for me to eat breakfast across from you knowing you don’t have any panties on?” He continued placing his soft, wet kisses up her thigh.

“How did you know I didn’t?” She couldn’t take her eyes off his mouth as he heated her body with each kiss.

“Last night you said you’d run out of clothes, and you had to do laundry. You said you had absolutely nothing left. Sounds like you ran out of panties to me.”

“Maybe I had an emergency pair in my purse,” she hedged.

“You don’t seem like the emergency pair of panties type.” He lifted up the shirt, peeked underneath, and smiled wickedly at her. “And I was right. Nothing under here but fresh, tasty Gemmi.”

The sucking kiss he placed on the inside of her thigh caused sensations all throughout her body. His touch felt like an electric current. She put her hand on his head to bring him to the main event.

“I had to wait all morning for you to get up,” he said as he kissed down her thigh. “You should have to be patient for something, as well.”

“I don’t want to be patient. I want you to lick me now.” She brought her hand to his head, running her fingers through the thick, silky strands and enjoying the closeness of the moment.

“How could I deny a request like that?” He licked right up the center of her core with the flat of his tongue. “I told you I like it when you’re sassy.”

His mouth enveloped her pussy, and she rocked her hips against his mouth. Every time she was with him, it was like her body was starved for him. She’d better get her fill now because it wouldn’t be like this for long, and she refused to waste what time she had now sad about what would happen later.

“Please, Cam, come with me.” She thought their first time having full out intercourse would be in a bed, but this whole situation was unconventional why would this be.

He slowed the pace of his kisses to her clit. She was almost sorry he didn’t just finish what he was doing because it felt so good, but she wanted to see his face when he came. She wanted him to be as into this as she was.

“Are you sure?” He continued his soft licks making it harder to remember why she wanted him to stop.

“Yes.” She watched him pull down his shorts and fish out a condom from his pocket. “Are you always this prepared?”

“Only when I’m this hopeful. Never know what’s going to happen with us, but I did know what I hoped would happen.”

She watched as he covered himself with the condom and although she knew she’d be able to take all of him in comfortably, he still looked big. She’d gone from nothing but toys every once in a while, to this beauty that definitely looked porn screen worthy.

“You’ll be fine, and my ego says thank you.”

  “Did I say anything?”

“No, but that thought is written all over your face. You are very expressive.” He pulled off her shirt and placed small pecking kisses on her neck. He was good at finding what she liked. He honed in with his open mouth suckling right under her ear and then trailed the sucking biting kisses to her mouth. He’d found the switch that turned her from on to OMG. The suction on her neck combined with the sucking noise heightened her pleasure. He slid his cock into her slowly because he was big, and although she’d recently taken him it was still a nice stretch. The quick release of breath she offered when he’d slid in brought forth a smile from Camden that made her slippery enough to ease his way. After a few strokes it felt like she and Camden were a perfect match.

She held on to him and buried her face in his neck for a few strokes until she remembered she wanted to see what he looked like when his climax over took him.

She laid down on the table and watched Camden as he learned her body and found a rhythm that they both liked. He stopped for a second.

“What’s the matter?” She hoped nothing was wrong.

“Nothing is wrong. You’re pretty snug, even after the last time.”

“It’s been a while, and you’re pretty big.”

Camden huffed a breath and gave her a quick kiss.

He returned to the slow in and out, but then he placed his thumb on her clit and swiped her nipple with his tongue. The sequence threw her body into overdrive. She tried to hold back the muttering she knew she was doing, but he played her body like a harp. Plucking and strumming different areas for maximum stimulation. The sensations in her body seemed to wind tighter and tighter with arousal as she clung to the edge of climax. Wave upon wave of pleasure moved through her body as she rode out the long, satisfying peak as she gripped Camden’s cock within her body squeezing tighter with every pleasure filled contraction of her orgasm. When she was able to take a breath and look into the face of the man who’d made her body sing, it was apparent that his release was close.

She pinched his nipples and grabbed his ass as he called her name and grunted to completion. He was laying against her, but he kept most of his weight off her.

She couldn’t see his face and wasn’t sure of what to expect when he lifted his head up from her chest. He’d been lying there for a few minutes and hadn’t said a word. She wasn’t going to help him freak out if that’s what he was doing. She would just wait.

“Wanna go with me to the animal shelter?” he said, raising his steel gray eyes to hers.

That was the last thing she thought he was going to say, but if that meant she could spend the day learning about who this man was, she was good with that.

  ***

“So, what’s this I hear about you and Camden gallivanting all over the place?” True walked into the back office of The Haught Spot where they kept their items just like she always did everything else—in a hurry. She often came in talking, and Gemmi had to catch up to what she was talking about. It must be her creative brain at work.

“I don’t honestly know. When he first told me his thoughts about moving in with him for the week to get to know each other better, I thought it was to keep the whole dating thing quiet. We’d have a few laughs, some passionate sex and talk. All within the confines of the house.”

“What changed?” True sat down at the desk and watched her closely. She was good at reading people and there must have been something she wanted to find out about Gemmi.

“I don’t know. A few days ago we went to the animal shelter, which was great. He’s such a caring guy, and then we went to the Safe House, which is a shelter for runaway teens.”

“That shelter is amazing,” True piped in.

“It is. It has so much for the kids to do and resources for help. Camden is so great with the kids. He goes to play basketball with them and mentor a few.”

“I’d heard Beau talk about that. He goes, but recently Camden has been a bit preoccupied.”

“Do you think Beau feels like I’m taking up too much of Camden’s time?”

“No, it’s just noticeable how much time you spend together because Camden’s never spent so much time with one person. He’s doing a lot of things that are out of character,” True said.

  “Like what?”

“Like pulling you off the floor as a waitress so you could be a bartender and getting Alec to take orders. I have to admit I thought that one was hilarious.”

“Alec doesn’t seem like the type to do something he doesn’t want to do.”

“Believe me he isn’t, but he can’t resist a bet, and there is nothing he wouldn’t do for his brothers,” True said looking around the bar.

“Who did he bet?” Gemmi asked. That sounded like something interesting was going on with True.

“Never mind that. How are you liking being behind the bar?”

“It’s not bad. Except now that I’m working there I have to see Rosalyn every freaking night. Ca
mden said she only came a few nights a week, but now that I’m here she seems to be here all the time. Who knew sales clerks made enough money to get drinks and bar food daily. Camden does all the work while I am learning how to make a few drinks, and I do all the beer and soft drinks. I like it though. Working with Camden is a lot of fun, but I’m going to learn to do tricks with the drinks. Regardless of whether anybody wants to see it or not.”

“Uh…oh,” True said, shaking her head and looking at Gemmi.

  “What?”

“You’re falling for him. Making long term plans.”

“I know what this is, True, you don’t have to remind me.”

“He’s breaking a lot of his personal rules lately. I think I may have to find out what’s going on in his head.”

“No, don’t do that. He’ll think I asked you to. He’s doing this as a favor to you, and I guess now that he knows me for me, but that’s it. I’m having the time of my life, let me enjoy it then we can move on to just being friends.”

“You guys are working things a bit backwards.”

“It looks that way, but I know what this is, and I’ve accepted it.”

“I know you think you know what this is, but I knew if you could take your eyes off that pretty face you’d be amazed at what you found inside.”

“Our time is almost up. I promised no strings, and there will be none.”

“I hope you’re right, but I don’t think it will be as easy as you think.”

“So how do you do it?”

True stopped what she was doing and turned to me. “What?”

“Put up with Beau and all his female admirers. They practically pop up at every turn and then they swarm the bar.”

“What’s that got to do with me?”

“Well, you and Beau are always together, and I know you like him.”

“I love Beau. He’s my best friend, but enough about that. We’re talking about you and this fantasy you and Cam have. The one about being able to tie yourselves together for a few weeks and then walk away as if you have nothing. I’ve seen you guys and there is definite chemistry between you two. I’m talking sparks, flashes… fire, and that’s noticeable from across the room.”

“There’s chemistry in high school too, but when that class is done, chemistry is over. In a few days, it’ll all be at an end, and he can go back to the beautiful women of The Haught Spot.”

“We’ll see about that,” True said with a secretive smile. Gemmi didn’t know what was up with her friend slash boss, but she knew it wasn’t malicious so she wouldn’t worry about it.

Speak of the devil and the devil appears. Beau came around the corner with a beautiful woman with the Haught Spot shirt and shorts on.

“Nadia, this is Gemmi. She will be training you tonight. Be nice to Gemmi. She hasn’t been a waitress long, but she knows her way around this place,” Beau said walking away when he was done with the introductions.

Nadia was a pretty woman with blonde hair, friendly, bright blue eyes, and the common sense to wear more comfortable shoes than Gemmi had when she first started working there. Gemmi heard of her lengthy resume and was sure this woman could tell her how to be a waitress, but who was she to doubt the brilliance of having her train another person to work at The Haught Spot?

“So why are you leaving this place so soon? It looks like a great place to work, and the benefits are pretty good.” Nadia seemed like a woman who gave it to you straight. Gemmi liked that she didn’t beat around the bush.

“I was just helping out with the waitressing as a favor for a friend. I actually work as a personal assistant for True Goode.”

“I heard she was here, but I couldn’t believe it. True Leigh Goode is actually working here as a waitress?”

“She’s good friends with Beau, the one with the broken wing. They needed help immediately, so we filled in while we could.”

“I’ve been to this place once before. A friend of mine has the hots for one of the bartenders—I think his name is Camden—and comes here all the time just to look at him.”

“Really?” There was no reason to get jealous. This was probably going to happen all the time, and she was going to have to learn to laugh it off. Only she didn’t feel like laughing now.

“Yes. The Haught Brothers are a big enticement for this sports bar. There are always a lot of women in here couple that in with the sports, and that draws the men.”

“Hmm.” She hoped she was showing the right amount of interest because she was becoming more and more distraught by this conversation and the likelihood of this relationship lasting after his favor was completed.

  “They all have nicknames.”

  “I haven’t heard any nicknames.”

“I don’t know if they are aware they have them, but Alec is Scary Haught, Beau is Sexy Haught, and Camden is Sweet Haught.”

“Sweet Haught. Why do they call him that?”

“He’s the nice one. He’s known to do anything for a woman in need. He likes to save the day and many women try to get to his soft side.” This line of conversation was making Gemmi feel horrible, was she capitalizing on his need to save the day. Was what he felt for her pity?

“He’s the one my friend fell for.”

  “Camden?”

“Yes, but I haven’t seen him yet. Is he coming in tonight?”

“He is. I’ll make sure you get a chance to meet him.”

“Oh, I’ll make sure of that myself.” Gemmi looked at Nadia and thought of her being here when she was gone and knew it was going to be a long night.

Nadia was a pro and didn’t need more than the introductory walk around to see where everything was. She was outgoing, sociable, and seemed to be able to flirt with the guys and get along with the girls all at once.

Gemmi did half the tables while True was missing in action. She’d seen her earlier, but she didn’t know where she’d taken off to. When True came back to pick up some drinks, Gemmi watched Nadia work her way over to talk to Camden.

It was going to happen anyway, so why not now?

Gemmi picked up her drink orders and spun around to get them out to her customers. She didn’t even want to hear what Nadia was going to say. She knew whatever the woman would say would be smooth, and she knew she’d be thinking of the two of them flirting back and forth for the weeks to come.

The next group of orders she had to give to Camden since Alec appeared busy and mad. He always seemed upset, so she just tried to stay out of his way, but now his face could be the dictionary illustration next to furious. True was sitting in his section talking to some businessman like she couldn’t feel the fire-burning glare she was receiving. Gemmi had no idea why she played games with that man, it didn’t look safe.

“Nadia says you’ve been great showing her all around,” Camden said as she picked up her next order of drinks.

“Nadia’s an expert at waitressing she just needed to know where the supplies are, and she’s ready to go,” Gemmi said. Nadia helped her with her large order and walked it to the table with her. She thanked Nadia for her help and was about to take a break, but before she could get to the kitchen Nadia corralled Gemmi to an empty corner.

“Why didn’t you tell me you and Camden were an item?” she said with a puzzled expression on her face.

“Did he say that?” Gemmi was beginning to wish more and more that it was a true statement, but how long could this last? The last two boyfriends were average, but Camden had it all. Looks, personality, kind spirit, understanding nature…everything she always wanted in a – She was getting way too carried away. She needed to remember that this situation was Camden doing a favor for his friend and her reaping the benefits of said favor.

“Yes. I never would have been so free with my mouth if I’d known that.”

“It’s no big deal, really.” But it was a big deal…and it was getting bigger by the minute.

“It is. I went over there to introduce myself, and he couldn’t stop talking about you.
I’m telling you that man is off the market.”

“We are just in the beginning stages.” She turned from Nadia and wiped the table so she wouldn’t see the lie that easily sprang from her lips.

“You may be in the beginning stages, but that man is all in. Mark my words.”

“Consider them marked.” Gemmi smiled and felt the tight ball of her stomach loosen for the first time since she talked with Nadia earlier.

“No hard feelings.” Nadia put her hand on Gemmi’s arm.

  “None at all…”

“We women have to stick together. You seem like a sweet woman perfect for the sweet Haught.”

  “Thanks, Nadia.”

She felt like she needed to talk to Camden about what was going on. There was a small lull in her action on the floor and thought she’d take the time to talk to him.

“Is there a reason you keep telling everyone I’m your girlfriend?” she said, because she couldn’t think of how else to start this weird conversation.

Camden was arranging the different alcohol bottles, so she was talking to his back, but looking at his face in the mirror.

“Isn’t that what you wanted?” He was good at keeping his face blank. She watched him looking at her like he was trying to figure out a puzzle. You’re the puzzle, pal.

“I needed someone to introduce to my family as my boyfriend so they would know I moved on, and not send every man under thirty my way, but you don’t have to keep telling people at the bar we’re a couple.” He was silently staring at her and she would shake him like a margarita if he told her this was the huff he’d told her he’d witnessed. She tried another route. “What do you get out of telling people I’m your girlfriend?”

He shrugged slightly and gave a crooked smile that melted her fussiness and warmed her heart. “I’ve never had someone I would label as a girlfriend. Maybe I think it’s a novel situation.”

  “You’re calling me a novelty?”
