He turned and ushered her out back into the corridor. “Show me your neck?” Coco lifted it up as he bent down to inspect it. Medical now, I want it checked out. He told her grasping her gently.

I’m ok, really I’m fine. She told him waving him off. She didn’t like that he was over reacting.

We’re just going to make sure. He left no room for argument as he picked her up. Coco let him take her. He was upset. She could sense how much. Unusually for him, his emotions were on the surface for all to read. The incident had rocked him. He was rattled. He feared for her. She reached out and touched his face. An unguarded, I can’t loose you, filtered across her mind. If she had any doubts of this male’s affection for her, they were now gone. He was wreaked. Abel turned towards her but kept walking.

You’re not going to lose me. Thank you for not killing him. I know how much that took not to. He didn’t harm me, not really.

But he would have, and I would have killed him. Males who hurt females are weak, worthless beings. They have no honour. He breathed in. He did that a lot around her she realised. Almost like he was scenting the air for something. She wondered what that told him.

Abel insisted she got in the med bed. Her scent was off. It had been getting stronger all day. He wasn’t taking any chances. Scent told them a lot. If it was different, something was wrong. Coco complained and tried to dodge it, but he wasn’t in the mood for letting it go. He’d kissed her senseless then closed the lid and set it to run a diagnostic check of her body. She looked up at him none too pleased while it did its thing. This is overkill, she told him. He shrugged, best to be sure.

It stopped and listed a number of nutrients to be added. He’d been surprised to see its recommendations. Nano’s were on the list. That was a surprise. He’d been feeding Coco well since meeting her, but he knew the med bed was never wrong, he went over and replicated what it asked for, then took a container with nanite blood and loaded it in. It flashed to start the process. Abel engaged the start and Coco went to sleep. Suddenly, a huge weight lifted from his shoulders. His chest opened, and he could breathe easier. Until that moment, he hadn’t realised how affected he’d been. He’d allowed himself to be seriously compromised. He would have to discuss it with the Admiral. Grabbing a seat, he looked on while the bed did it’s thing.

A hour and twenty three minutes later, the med bed pulsed. Programme ended. Abel got up and walked over. He pressed for a read out and it came up on screen. He wondered if his vision was faulty. What it was telling him didn’t make a lot of sense, until he read the last line. He ran a diagnostic of his systems, to make sure he was functioning correctly, nothing showed. He programmed the read out to his data pad and pulled it from his pocket, opening the med bed lid, he moved to sit back down. That couldn’t be right. He glanced over to Coco still sleeping. Could it?

Coco woke to a silent room. The hushed hum of the med bed telling her it was still on, if not active. She swallowed, blinked, opening her eyes and looking around. She saw Abel sitting in the corner. It knocked me out? She asked him. Abel slowly rose and came towards her.

It did. You needed some assistance, or your body did, so it did its thing.

She felt confused, she didn’t remember feeling unwell, in fact, she’d felt great all day. What was wrong? She asked, starting to sit up, Abel moved nearer to help her.

Abel held her hand. You know your it for me right? He asked her. Coco nodded. You’ve told me often enough, she joked.

He nodded. I will never crave another female like I crave you. It’s all I will ever need in my life. If I had to chose, I would choose you, over everything else.

Coco nodded. Yes, I believe that. She told him.

Do you want to be with me Coco? Bonded. For the rest of our lives? Because that’s what it means for Cyborgs, we mate for life. We become an essential part of each other that nothing can divide. It’s a onetime deal. All or nothing.

Coco blew out a breath. She knew all this but hearing it in her mind, made it seem more real somehow. She hadn’t thought of it in terms of ‘forever’. Who is with someone ‘forever’? Even in her small colony, people changed partners. Could she be with someone that long? Could that work? She thought of all the reasons relationships broke down. Infidelity, lies, cheating, personality traits, losing interest, bad behaviours and realised, Cyborgs didn’t have those problems. They weren’t those kinds of people. They loved, wholeheartedly, with every fibre of their being and that never changed. They treasured females, put them first. They would never abandon them, she would never be alone again. Abel loved her.

She smiled. Yes I do. I’m happy with you. She told him honestly.

Abel blew out a breath and kissed her hand. That’s good. The reason you were out so long, is because your expecting twins.

What? She yanked her hand out of his. What do you mean, I’m expecting twin? We only had sex last night! He raised both eyebrows at her. Coco frowned.

Do I need to explain that to you Coco?

No dam it. How’s this possible? I know how its possible but you’re Cyborg and I’m human, how’d this happen, I know how it happens but, ……. Fuck. How the fuck did this happen? And don’t get smart. She was pissed and meant it.

Abel chucked, she was rambling. Shocked, surprised, you name it and she was feeling it. Her emotions were all open to him. She wasn’t blaming him, just wanting answers. He couldn’t blame her. It was the first thing he’d done too. He’d checked his own systems and found his fertility was turned on. He didn’t even know why, he had no record of doing it but there it was, fully functional and working. Clearly working. He thought wryly. He’d recalled scenting her fertility and wondered if subconsciously, that had been it. That somehow, their shared cybernetics and her need had turned it on? She was his mate and fertile and they had both accepted that bond. Had that been enough? He didn’t have the answers to those questions but hoped Mac did.

He’d sent her the print out soon after seeing it. Coco’s body had been saturated in nano’s, now she had a hell of a lot more. Mac was now very keen to see her.

Abel felt the need to vocalise what he knew. “We bonded, you accepted me, I accepted you. Somehow, my fertility turned on and we had a multitude of times during last night, to make that happen and it did. The med bed can tell if someone is pregnant from conception. You were some 19 hours in, by the time you went into the med bed. It registered the draw on your body the pregnancy was taking, and gave you the supplements to keep the pregnancy viable. That’s all I know. We don’t have that many pregnant mates. I’ve asked Mac to link up with us, hopefully she can give us more.”

Holy shit, that’s some strong semen. Abel stared at her unable to keep his amusement at bay. This is not funny. She told him. Abel pulled it back and nodded.

I can see that. He sobered. Do you not want our child? Children?

O my, children. Plural. Coco blew out a breath. Yes, I want children but didn’t think it would be now. Like the minute I have good sex, she told him exasperated.

It was good? He asked her. Coco stared at him incredibly. Seriously, out of all that, you heard, it was good? Abel wrapped her in his arms.

I heard it all. I have so many emotions flying around in my head, I cannot think passed it. I love you in the human way and will die loving and protection you and our children. Do you know how precious that is to us? We never thought it possible. Never. It is a miracle. You, are a miracle. One, I will spend the rest of my life living up to. Thank you for such a precious gift.

Coco gave a little shake resigned. Let’s see if you think that at 2am when they both want feeding, nappy changing and burping. She told him. She’d seen plenty of babies over the years and one thing was for sure, the parents were exhausted for the first six months and that good sex will be OVER.

Abel squeezed her tighter, it will not be over, I will fuck you every day, twice a day or more, if you let me. I look forward to every moment with you and our children. I will willingly do it all. She believed him. Sh
e just wasn’t sure she was ready.

Just under two hours later and she was on a vid call with the doctor at the Space Station. With her was the Admiral or HoS as he was now called, Rage. They both congratulated them on their mating. It all just didn’t seem real to Coco, she was still trying to get her head around it all..

Mac had asked her how she was feeling, and Coco went over the med bed information with her. Mac confirmed that Coco was good to go until they got to the Space Station, then she’d have to come in for a full work up. Coco nodded. Then Mac asked to speak with her alone and both Abel and the Admiral left.

“So,” Mac asked the minute they were gone, “that Cyborg knocked you up, dropped the bomb shell on you and kept on smiling right?”

Coco cracked into a smile. “Yeah, something like that.” Mac nodded and leaned forward.

“Listen girlfriend, I’m sure your whacked by it all and you need time to get your head around it but they are the most amazing of men. Loyal to a fault, honest, without deception. They can lack tact, be off que sometimes, not read into things right, be too logical, not emotional enough at times, but behind all that wrongful upbringing, they are the most devoted men you will ever know. If you need time, tell him, he will respect that. But, this is a one-time deal Coco, it’s all or nothing and its complicated by you being pregnant. You still have the choice to go with this or not. It would break him, I’ll be honest with you, it you go your own way and I’m not sure he could ever, leave his kids, but, he would only want you willingly. You have to take a leap of faith on this and take it from one that knows, he will frustrate you, to your edge of reason some days but, you will never, and I do mean never, doubt his love for you.”

  Coco nodded. “Thank you.”

Mac waved at the screen. “Don’t thank me for nature. There are a few of us mates here now. One has a child as well. It would be good to welcome you into our ranks. Kim says the drinks are on her, not that you will be drinking. See me when you get here.”

She smiled and nodded again. “I will.” The vid screen cut off and Coco leaned back in her chair.

She didn’t want to tell him to wait or to give her time. She didn’t want to raise kids on her own either or take them from their father. That seemed all kinds of wrong. No, she didn’t need more time to realise she hadn’t been living up to now. She loved their time together. Looked forward to it and it wasn’t all about the sex, she told herself. Well, not all of it, she smiled. He was a good man. He cared for her. It was old fashioned in some ways and she liked it. It reminded her of her parents. How her dad had cared for her mum. He made her laugh, feel good about herself. He never once put her down in all those weeks. He’d been respectful and caring, winning her over slowly, giving her time to get to know him.

He’d done exactly what she’d needed. She had no doubt that he would continue to do that. Putting her and her children’s well being before his own. Could any woman wish for more?

Abel walked back into the room. He had sensed her indecision before coming in. He looked over at the vid screen, “everything ok?”

Coco nodded smiling. “You love me?”

He gave her a sharp nod back.

“I love you too. I’ve waited all my life for someone to be the right person. I know that’s you. This pregnancy is early for both of us, I’m sure you were shocked too at first, but even though you’re an old man, I am sure, we can make this work. We can do it because we are together.” She told him cheekily.

Abel picked her up and placed her on his lap. “I don’t feel old and I’m happy to show you. No more talking, baby. I need to fuck my mate and give her everything she needs.”

“O good,” Coco told him reaching up and touching his face, “cos that’s you.”

The End ……… here’s a little thank you bonus …. Read on …

Galactic Cyborg Heat Series Book 1. Rage.

  Chapter One

Kim walked towards the Bridge from the engine room. It was running like a dream. Mack would be eating his words and she would be one proud owner of a new laser gun. Kim grinned and picked up the pace. She couldn’t wait to see his face when she told him. He’d give her that, ‘I don’t believe it look’, then look all pissed at her, then slap her on the back and hand over the gun. Kim rubbed her hands together. Easy pickings. She told herself. The explosion threw her hard against the wall banging her head and bruising her arm, as she’d reached out trying to stop herself and her ribs, hitting hard against it. Fuck that hurt. Screamed across her mind as her body protested being abused.

The alarm bleared out. She tried to focus. “Kim you in engineering?” Her comm blurted. Mack. Her partner. She made a grab for it nursing her damaged arm, trying to focus passed the banging in her head.

“J..u..s..t….. left …… what the fuck, heading back,” she told him peeling herself off the wall and wiping blood from her face. “What the hell was that?” She shouted out over the noise on the Bridge over the comm. It told her everything she needed to know. They were in trouble and Mack confirmed it.

“Under attack, pirates, give me all you can girl.”

Fuck! “On it.” She squeezed out determinedly. Her head banging from the impact, she staggered back down the corridor towards engineering. Blood ran down the side of her face. The ship rocked again, then shuddered and the alarm blearing in her ear drums. Kim looked around her at the ship. She hoped to god it held together.

Slapping her hand on the scanner to give her access, Kim walked into chaos. Fuck. She’d only just left and it was fucking perfect. She rushed to the controls and checked the damage. Dam it. This was going to take some work. She berated herself getting down to work. Shutting down both generators, wasn’t easy. By the time she was finished, the strain on her arm or ribs was killing.

She turned her attention to the engines. They were badly over heated as they continued to spark and try to fire back to life. She re-routed the coolant and shot it passed both. Steam started pumping out. That was easier to deal with than a fractured engine. She knew both the coolant and the engines weren’t designed to do that but she just knew, both could handle it. And when her gut told her that, she knew to rely on it. She checked the temperature gages. It was going down dramatically but still taking time. Kim frowned. It was time she wasn’t sure they still had.

“How long Kim?” Mack called out over the comm. Another hit rocked the ship. It threw her across the consol. Dam it. Her head pounded. Another streak of blood ran into her eye and she swiped at it, getting it out of her eyes. Now her chest hurt from the impact of the consol. For fuck sake. She gritted out.

“They’re coming in to board us girl, we’re dead in the water, get us moving. Now.” Mack was starting to piss her off. She ran around the core and bi-passed and patched several components. Ripping wiring out of one then another.

“Give me a fucking minute here Mack.” She told him through gritted teeth.

She manually pulled out cable and turned back to the control. The generators were cool enough now. She patched a connection to forward drive and linked it to both generators. Again, she knew they weren’t meant to work in tandem like that, but if they wanted any hope in hell of getting away, she needed both. Kim connected them and hoped it didn’t blow up in her face. Her gift told her it was the right move. Kim took the coolant off line. She turned it all back on and all switches went to green. Another hit rocked the ship. Now or never, she told herself. She punched the restart. Both generators kicked in. The core powered up.

She clicked the comm. “We have power. Go for broke Mack.” She told him and felt the moment the core engaged. She hadn’t had time to re-set stabilisers. The whole ship shot forward as she landed on her ass and with relief, it kept going.

Kim grinned. Take that suckers. O yeah she was good.

They’d been caught with their pants down. Rage stormed around the Bridge. They’d been about to board and then they were gone. That pissed him off. He looked around the
Bridge holding on to his temper. He was called Rage for a reason and spoke aloud. “What the hell went wrong? We had them.” Pain, his First, turned from his comms station.

“That ship is not meant to have that capacity. It was dead in the water.”

“Well it isn’t now. I want to know how that was done. We need that cargo back.” He told him. He looked at the vid screen, the vessel no longer in view. They’d be seeing that again and soon.

  ***

Kim spent the next six hours nursing the engines and her bruises. Putting out fires, both figuratively and literally and patching up equipment. Those pirates were cleaver, she’d give them that. They ‘d hit the engine room for a reason. They wanted to incapacitate the ship and had done it. Something sour burnt in her stomach. Pirates. That meant they wanted the ship or something on it or both. Her gut twisted. It had been a long time since she’d had to run from that. She clicked her comm.

  “Mack how’s it look?”

“Good job Kim. No direct pursuit. But they must known our route so I’m going to zig a bit. Engines up to that?” He asked her. Kim blew out a breath. It would put an extra load on it.
