Gordon chuckled. “She’s been good for you, Warren. I feel honored to be part of this relationship. And there’s plenty of room here.”

Warren said, “There’s a little matter of my pseudocollar, Haley. I should have added to your count earlier, but I’ll come up with something to correct you later, I’m sure. Maybe a ring would be in order, unless you plan to drop that in the toilet as well?”

Haley struggled to a sitting position, her back now snuggled against Gordon’s chest, and faced him. Her eyes were enormous and her nipples hard, already reacting to his implied correction.

“She threw your collar in the toilet, Warren?” Gordon’s shoulders shook with laughter, and Haley glared at him then turned back to face Warren.

“Things are going too fast, Warren. We just got back together again. I think. I have a job I’m not giving up, Gordon has just joined us, and you haven’t met the total real me. You might not want this when you do.”

“He’s just letting me know who you are marrying, little one,” Gordon told her. “But, Haley, I’m forty-two. I want children, or at least one child, before much more time passes. I’d like to make the first baby, although we’ll both be fathers to any babies you have.”

  “Babies?”

Warren and Haley spoke at the same time and then laughed together. As one, they reached out to Gordon, Haley stretching one arm behind her to wrap her fingers around the back of his neck. Warren grabbed his forearm and watched as Gordon smiled with contentment, hugging Haley to him and duplicating Warren’s own grasp.

Warren made room for the three of them to lay side by each on the big bed, Haley tucked between them. At least he had managed to get the side he usually slept on. The satisfaction of it made him smile. He was grateful for any small thing, and he liked the feeling, because it felt more precious. He kicked up the top sheet with his foot and drew it up and over them all.

“I haven’t slept well for a long time, Haley, without you in my bed, and suspect I’m going to need my rest in the upcoming days as we talk things through and fuck you into submission on a daily basis, sub. Gordon, turn off that light.”

The room plunged into darkness, and Warren listened to his woman fall asleep, making those little sounds that were so familiar to him. Gordon began to snore, and Warren grimaced. Maybe perfection it wasn’t, but he would take it. Gladly. He closed his eyes and hoped to dream of their future.
