  Here’s Rosie’s house, look. The really big one. Quick, duck down! They’re in Rosie’s front room waiting for me. Lucky Mr Quormby’s got his back to the window.

  I’m not wimping out. No way! I just thought you’d like to hear the end of the story. I’ll tell you the good news first, OK? The stain totally came out of Tiffany’s dress, so she wore it to the dance after all.

  Shall I tell you the bad news now? It’s bad all right. Bad as can be.

  Remember that photographer who came to Rosie’s house? You thought that cheesy picture was just for Juice’s private album, didn’t you? Wrong, wrong, WRONG!

  The Quormbys had a big shock when they saw their precious baby girl plastered all over the front page of the Mercury. They thought she’d been asleep in her cot, not grooving the night away with pop stars!

  It was an excellent picture. You could see everything. The pattern on Rosie’s mum’s sofa. The soppy smile on Fliss’s face as Juice sang to us. The photograph was so sharp, you could even see the modern art splatters on Morgan’s sleepsuit. And to think we nearly got away with it…

  I don’t blame the Quormbys for being livid with us. But now the M&Ms are convinced we invited Juice to our sleepover just to spite them. I hate to think what they’re cooking up to pay us back. (Though I’d lurve to have seen their faces when they saw that picture in the Mercury. Heh heh heh!)

  So, like I told you, I’m lying low, until the fuss dies down. It’ll be good practice for when I’m a world-famous actress, dodging the press! But before I go, let me tell you something I found out at Rosie’s sleepover. Two things actually.

  1) I am going to make an excellent big sister

  and…

  2) I’d better catch up on my sleep while I can!!

  OK, I’m going in to face the music now. Cross your fingers and thumbs, won’t you. It’s been great seeing you. Bye!!

  Frankie’s Top Tips for Nails

  I just lurve silver nail polish, but whatever colour’s your fave, here’s how to get fab looking nails.

  First the preparation:

  (very important)

  Remove any old nail polish using a mild nail-polish remover.

  Wash your hands with soap – use a nail brush to get the nails super clean – and pat dry.

  Apply some cuticle cream or hand moisturiser.

  Prepare a bowl of warm water and soak your hands for about ten minutes. Pat hands dry.

  Push cuticles gently using an orange stick (check out your pharmacy).

  Trim your nails if you need to, and smooth off gently with a nail file.

  Now the fun part!

  Pick out your fave colour – how about something glittery if you’re going to a party?

  Start with a stroke of polish down the centre of your nail, then one either side.

  Remember to wait until the first coat is dry before applying the second coat.

  Gorgeous nails without polish

  Drink lots of water to keep your hands hydrated.

  Calcium (milk, yogurt, broccoli, cheese), zinc (red meat) and iron (chicken, breakfast cereals with fortified iron) are all good for healthy nails.

  Rub your nails with a buffer for a shiny, healthy look that’s polish free!

  Rosie’s Peppermint Love Hearts

  You will need:

  400g icing sugar, sifted (and a little extra for dusting)

  2 medium eggs, whites only

  A few drops of peppermint oil

  A few drops of red food colouring

  A sieve

  A cutting board

  A rolling pin

  A large plate covered in greaseproof paper

  A heart-shaped cutter

  Place the sifted icing sugar in a bowl.

  Whisk the egg whites together into froth.

  Add the egg whites, red food colouring and the peppermint oil to the icing sugar little by little, until the mixture becomes stiff and holds together.

  Using your hands, bring the mixture together into a ball – mix well and the paste will be pink, mix lightly and you’ll get a marbled pink-and-white effect.

  Sprinkle the cutting board with icing sugar.

  Roll out the peppermint paste on the board with a rolling pin, to about 1 cm thick.

  Use your heart cutter to cut out shapes.

  Place the hearts on a plate covered with greaseproof paper and refrigerate for a day.

  Rosie’s Chocolate Kisses

  You will need:

  100g milk chocolate

  100g chopped almonds

  A large plate covered with greaseproof paper

  A heat-resistant bowl

  A saucepan

  Break the chocolate into small pieces and place in a heat-resistant bowl.

  Place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (on a low heat).

  When the chocolate has melted, take the basin off the heat (HOT! Use oven gloves).

  Beat the melted chocolate mixture until it becomes thick.

  Mix in the chopped almonds until you get a stiff paste.

  Using a teaspoon, spoon the mixture on to the greaseproof paper and leave to cool.
