  Epilogue

  Natalie

Everything has returned to normal since that day one month ago. I thought our relationship would never go back to the way it was before he left for Seattle, but things get better for us with each passing day.

“Are you ready, Natalie?” I turn to find Dorothy standing behind me with my flowers in her hands.

“I am, Mom,” I say as I smile over at her. Dorothy and Roman have adopted me into their family; they love me like I’m their own and Roman is giving me away today.

I touch my baby and smile; we’re having a boy. Parker doesn’t know yet; I plan to tell him after we’re married.

I hear the music start in the distance and smile. Neither one of us is dressed up today, the extent of us dressing up is me putting on a new dress I bought at the store last week, and Parker has on his cut as does every other biker here.

“Don’t forget this,” says Roman as he comes to stand next to me. I take the patch from him and put it on over my dress as the others in the small crowd cheer.

Roman then takes me by the arm and leads me down the aisle to where my future husband stands waiting for me.

Funny thing is Roman is also officiating the ceremony.

“All right,” announces Roman as he holds his hands up in the air for quiet. “Let’s get this party on the road so we can eat; I know the bride is especially hungry today.”

I shoot him a look, and he laughs before kissing me on the cheek.

“Hey, Pops, get your own lady,” Parker growls before winking at me.

“Fine, fine, the couple has opted to exchange vows today; Parker will be going first,” he gestures for Parker to begin.

He clears his throat as he looks over at me, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this nervous before. “I take you, Natalie King, to be my lawfully wedded wife. I promise to love you with my entire heart every single day; I promise to protect you from all harm -even my brothers- and give you everything you will ever need. You are my heart; you are my soul, my kindred spirit, my other half. I finally understand how Bear felt about my mother; you look at me the way she looked at him. I will love you till death do us part.” I think this is the first time he’s mentioned his parents without a dark look in his eyes; he’s finally free of what haunted him for so long.

There are tears in his eyes as the bikers behind him cheer loudly.

“Settle down brothers, it’s Natalie’s turn now,” he gestures for me to begin.

“I take you, Parker Martinez, to be my lawfully wedded husband. I promise to love you ever single day with my entire being; you are the other half of me, the other part of my heart and soul that has been missing all these years; I will never love another the way I love you. You are my soulmate; I promise to love you until death do us part.” Tears fall down my face as I see the tenderness in his blue eyes as he stares down at me.

“Ladies and brothers, I give you Mister and Misses Parker Martinez, you may now kiss the bride,” announces Roman as Parker leans in and kisses me tenderly on the lips and then the cheek before pulling me in for a hug.

“It’s a boy, I decided to name him Roman; I hope that’s okay with you?” I ask hopefully as I lean back and stare up at him.

“It’s a boy!” he shouts to the crowd behind him, and he laughs as they all erupt into renewed cheers.

“What do you think, Pops? She wants to name him Roman.” Roman pushes Parker out of the way as he pulls me into a hug.

“You’re lucky she’s pregnant, Pops, or I’d push you out of the way,” he says as he crosses his arms over his chest.

He laughs and pushes me back towards Parker as we look out over the crowd before us. Most notably Tim who survived with a gunshot wound in the abdomen and is now a patched member of the club. Oddly enough, they call him Tigger now. Not sure what that’s about, I didn’t want to ask. I smile as I look over at each one of them. This is my family, it only took me twenty-one years to find it, but better late than never.

I look at them and hope that some of them will find their way like I did, Dean and Tim especially, if not for them, I might not be here today.

I look over and kiss my husband one last time as I smile up at him. He is the other half of me, the part of me that has been missing all these years, and I’ll be damned if I ever forget it.

  The End

Look for Dean and Kara’s book, coming very soon.
