The piece of paper then suddenly caught a light and began burning away. I dropped it on the concrete pavement and watched it shrivel away into nothing. The ash then blew away, leaving no evidence that a note had been passed to me.
“All right there, son?” said Dad, popping his head out the door.
“It’s still going on, Dad,” I said.
“What is son?” said Dad.
“My psychotic delusional episode,” I said. The white owl then swooped back over the garden and flew off. “Can you see that owl, Dad?”
“What owl, son?” said Dad.
“That white owl, it’s pretty easy to see in the dark,” I said.
“I can’t see any owl, Sean. Although my eye sight isn’t what it used to be,” said Dad.
“Yep, yep, that’s what I thought. Let’s go and see Doctor Brown in the morning,” I said.
