by Karis Walsh

She pressed her lips against Ken’s neck, unable to express her gratitude for all the changes she had been so determined to resist. The students who brought excitement and fresh perspectives, the faculty of WSU who had become an indispensable resource, the birds who benefitted from the expansion. The greatest expansion had taken place in Bailey’s own life. She had wanted to fight her attraction to Ken, but how much would she have lost if she’d been successful? Everything that mattered.

Ken’s legs were falling asleep, but she didn’t want to move. She kept her arms wrapped around Bailey as they sat on the bluff. She’d never get tired of this place or this woman. The sound of the surf, the misty fog, the screech of gulls. The connection to Bailey as they searched for a glimpse of the osprey and talked in hushed voices. The simultaneous inhale when a comfortable embrace shifted naturally to one of awareness and arousal.

Ken’s fingers twisted gently in Bailey’s hair as Bailey turned for a kiss before sliding to a kneeling position between Ken’s legs. Communication became more basic—but more meaningful—as whispered sighs and soft touches replaced words. Ken lifted her hips and Bailey slid her jeans down her legs, drawing away for a brief moment to toss them aside, but returning with demanding lips and tongue.

Ken’s world condensed until there was only her and Bailey. The hard swipe of a tongue and the teasing brush of teeth. The remembered taste of Bailey in Ken’s mouth—soon to be a reality once more. The sense of utter safety and love that Ken had never known before. Ken let go, completely giving herself over to Bailey, her heart unfurling and soaring, as if on wings.

Acclaim for the fiction of Karis Walsh

  Harmony

“For those unsure of their decisions, those seeking a new life, and those who are stuck in a rut, this book will hit home. It is highly recommended for any romance or self-searching reader who enjoys lesbian sex scenes.”—GLBT Reviews from the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table of the American Library Association

  Sea Glass Inn

“While I am not a lesbian, I found that the emotions in this book spoke for themselves and Karis Walsh gives us two very convincing women searching for love. The reason that I mentioned that I am not a lesbian is because this novel that happens to be about two women could actually be about anyone. So many who are burnt by love are ready to call it quits and we see here that love comes when least expected or even wanted.”—Reviews by Amos Lassen

“Author Karis Walsh has again given her fans a lovely story of two women who overcome rejection to find their inner strength.”—RLynne, Book reviewer

  Mounting Danger

“The author is a professional riding instructor, and her knowledge and experience give the story an additional level of realism and significant detail that add to the plot conflict. Mounting Danger’s richly-detailed setting sets this romance apart, and adds to the fun of watching rakish Cal fall for rulebound Rachel. The mystery element adds an additional spice of intrigue to an already entertaining novel.”—Heroes and Heartbreakers.com

  Improvisation

“Walsh tells this story in achingly beautiful words, phrases and paragraphs, building a tension that is bittersweet.…Improvisation is a true romantic tale, Walsh’s fourth book, and she’s evolving into a master romantic storyteller.”—Lambda Literary
