Passion flooded her at his reaction, removing any fear or concern for anything save for that she would come undone too soon. Stepping toward him, she cooed “I take it you like my surprise?”
Sinking to his knees in front of her he used his hand to nudge her thighs apart. “Very much,” he said huskily as he trailed his fingertips just next to where she was wet.
“Jax,” she groaned, her knees bending as a surge of pleasure rushed through her when the tip of his fingers brushed over her core.
“I love it when you call me that,” he nipped at the sensitive skin on the inside of her leg before mouthing her over the black lace. He growled as his tongue flicked out to taunt her.
She collapsed at the intimate touch, her body crashing down only to be caught by one of his hands while his mouth continued to suckle her through the lingerie. Her body quivered with every delicious wet stroke of his tongue. It was a forbidden art, the way he twirled it against the fabric, creating a maddening sensation.
Suddenly, the warmth from his mouth was gone and she yelped as he scooped her up. He wasted no time, plunging his finger inside her body with the lace around it. Her back arched as she groaned, and he lay her down on the couch. When he looked up at her, his eyes seemed to shimmer with lust before his gaze shifted to her center.
“I have missed this almost as much as I’ve missed hearing your voice,” was the last thing he said before jerking the lace panties down until they hit her ankles and slamming his tongue inside her body.
“God!” she cried, her body convulsing at the first contact of skin-to-skin. He was mercilessly holding her hips down as he crawled to the end of the couch and sat there. Her hips moved of their own accord, a sensual gyration that helped to swirl his tongue as he ate at her. Shallow breathing turned to helpless pants as he relentlessly stroked her walls while making certain to flick her clit at the right moments with his thumb. She was already screaming in her mind, coming undone from all he did, but she wasn’t willing to give in so easily, she wanted him to work for her scream.
Which he had no problem obliging. He angled her ass up, sweeping his tongue so deep inside her body she swore she felt him in her stomach. His hands trailed up her stomach until they reached her bra and slipped beneath the pads, squeezing her nipples as he gently bit down on her swollen nub.
“Jaxon!” Her scream echoed off the fairly open space of her living room and she heard it bouncing around in her ears as her release shot through her, pulsating through her unlike anything she’d ever felt.
“I lied,” he rasped as he came up from licking her release from her body. “I missed that almost as much as I missed hearing your voice.”
He continued to massage her breasts with one hand while the other lifted her body off the couch, unhooking the bra like the seasoned lover her was and letting it hang loosely on her. He sucked one nipple into his mouth and then other, blowing on the wet peaks each before grinning up at her.
“I think I’ve done quite a bit of the work,” chuckling, he rose and walked to the love seat, stretching out with his legs hanging over the arms. “Come and ride me, Adrianna. I want to see you come undone that way.”
She would have came a second time just hearing the words, but her body wanted to finish only with him inside her. Her eyes never left his as he unzipped his uniform pants and shoved them and his briefs down to his ankles. Pushing off the couch she noticed the delicious tremor that still ran through her as she bent down to kick her soaked panties off. Her hips seemed to sway in a fashion all their own as she crossed the space and climbed up onto his body. All she wanted to do was sink down on the brilliant, thick erection that was before her, but she knew better.
“Condom,” she breathed, hardly able to control her voice as she realized how fucking hot it was that he hadn’t even fully undressed.
Without a word he reached around his ankles and pulled one out of his back pocket.
“Cheeky,” she laughed.
“Prepared,” he retorted, tearing the foil in his teeth.
She watched as he slid it over his length, giving his shaft a squeeze before looking back at her. There were no words needed, she simply crawled over his body and took him into her hands. He was as thick as she remembered, and a thrill raced through her as she lifted off just enough to place the head of his shaft inside.
Grunting, he bucked his hips, slipping his cock further into her body. “You’re trying to kill me.”
Pushing her breasts out, she used her free hand to tug the bra straps off and let it fall to his chest as her other hand continued to guide him in to the hilt. She shuddered at the sting of his dick stretching her core and cried out as he hands quickly reached out to cup her breasts. Her body pulsed, and she couldn’t hold off any longer.
Rocking her hips slowly, she started a rhythm that was far slower than any they had used during their only other weekend together. Back and forth she moved, seeming to glide on and off his shaft as she did. His hands enveloped her larger breasts and she threw her head back with a groan as he molded them to his will.
“No more playing, Adrianna.”
“No more,” she agreed, licking her lips as pleasure jolted through her.
His hands left her breasts and landed on her hips, grabbing them and grinding her against him in a fashion far too quick for her to achieve on her own. The room disappeared as they continued their fast and furious fuck, all she could focus on was the swirl of bliss building like a tornado inside of her.
“Jax,” she panted, dropping her hands to his chest and leaning forward, thrusting at a new angle. She could practically feel him slipping free of her wetness and sliding all the way back into the hilt with each motion. “Jaxson,” she cried, her body shattering harder than it had from his tongue mere minutes prior. She couldn’t find the strength to continue moving as her eyes seemed to roll up into her head.
His hands and hips took over, thrusting into her so hard and fast she screamed a third time, unsure of how her body had peaked a third time. Her name tore from his lips and his hands released her hips, though he continued much slower, lazy strokes. She was boneless, laying her head down on top of him, sliding him free of her body as she did so.
“My God,” she whispered.
“No need to refer to me in such a fashion,” Jaxon chuckled, dropping a kiss to her shoulder. “That was mind blowing.”
“I don’t even have the energy to snark back at you.” She sighed, her body pleasantly still feeling shocks of pleasure. “We’re going to need to do that at least ten more times before you leave Saturday afternoon.”
The rumble of his laugh vibrated through his chest. “I think I can arrange that.”
She picked her head up and looked down at him. Whereas the last time she saw him, she had seen traces of who he’d been, all she saw as she gazed down was the man who had the ability to crush her heart nearly as powerfully as he had made her climax.
“You bring something out in me,” she said, trailing her fingertip over the uniform top he still wore.
“I’m going to take that as the king of all compliments. I don’t want anyone else seeing you the way I have.”
The possessive nature of the comment brought a blush to her cheeks. “Keep playing your cards right and I can promise you, you will be the last person to ever touch me like this.”
Had she said that to him ten years ago he would have thrown her into the wall jumping up to bolt away. He just stared up at her before tracing the line of her face with his thumb. “I like the sound of that.”
“What did you really want to be when you grew up?” he asked her, twirling pasta around the fork.
She swallowed a bite and lifted her eyes to ceiling, something he noticed she did anytime she thought.
“Well, I suppose nothing. I mean, at some point I remember wanting to go to the Olympics for volleyball, but I knew that really wasn’t an option. Living here you learn to either love the news or hate it. I wanted to have a hand in helping people learn about
the danger, without fearing it.”
“Admirable,” he said around the lip of his water glass. “And are you achieving it?”
She sighed and set her fork down. “Not in the slightest. You just can’t put a positive spin on how much crime happens in this city, or any other big city I suppose.”
Her sadness was a palpable entity in the room and he immediately wished he knew the way to fix it for her, but there was no fix. In fact, many of the things on her regret list were things no one could fix – like wishing she’d gone away to college to see more of the country or wanting more space to adopt a third dog. Each one of them was well out of his control, but it didn’t stop him from wishing there was a way he could fix them. A few months ago he would’ve been terrified at how badly he wanted to make her smile, not he was simply recognizing it for what it was. He was falling in love with her. Even without the traditional dating scenarios, Adrianna had melted into his heart and he knew there was no way he would leave to go back to Germany without having given it to her completely.
“What about you? I know at one point you dreamed about playing for The Saints.”
He chuckled. “Oh, there are about a million fucking things I wanted to be when I grew up and none of them were anywhere near noble.”
“That doesn’t surprise me in the least,” she said with a smirk. “You weren’t someone I would have considered a viable role model when you were growing up.”
“Touché.” He shook his head, wondering how much of the old him she saw when she looked at him. “I think more than anything I wanted to be that NFL player. I saw the money, stardom and travel and wanted it all.”
“Good thing you got some of that travel in,” she teased.
“Ha, ha. You’re a comedian still. Always willing to spar with me for a smart remark.”
Wiping her mouth, she stood up and gestured for his plate after picking up her own. “I have always been good at that, haven’t I?”
“The best,” he agreed and polished off his scotch, unable to suppress the yawn that slipped out.
“I wore you out today, didn’t I?” she asked with a smug look as she walked into the kitchen.
“That you did. I even napped while you went into work!” he snickered, allowing another yawn to slip out as he scooted back from the table.
“I guess the time change is officially getting to you.” She offered him a bottle of water from the refrigerator. “You’d better hydrate. I only have you for three more days and I have plans, Mr. Donovan. Big plans.”
“I’m a little sorry I don’t hear a double entendre in that.” He took a sip of water and put the glass down to tug her into his lap. “What do you have in the works?”
“Well, I thought tomorrow we could go and hang out with Kailey and Jim for a bit – maybe go down to Bourbon Street for some fun.”
He rarely drank to get drunk, but he didn’t want to ruin her plans and it was unlikely she’d notice if he wasn’t toasted and she was. “Go on.” He started to climb the stairs, but looked over his shoulder at her as they both walked up.
“Then, Thursday I wanted to see what you thought about a day holed up in here. Me, movies and some fast food.”
He kissed her and took her arms, placing them around his neck so he could stand holding her. “I think that sounds nearly as perfectly as getting rest does right now. And what about Friday? What do you have in store for me on our final day.”
Sadness crept over her expression and he wanted to kick himself. He wasn’t a sensitive person, but it was obvious Adrianna was, at least in terms of their separation.
“I was thinking about a trip to Baton Rouge. It’s been forever since I went up that way and I’m so sick of the stock in the stores down here.”
“Whatever would you do without multiple Targets?” he blew a raspberry as he sat her down on the edge of the bed. Everything in him screamed at him to take her again, but he knew that he physically wasn’t up for it, no matter how badly his cock thought otherwise. “You know they don’t exist in Germany; would you die?”
She paused, looking over at him as he took off his pants. “Did you almost sort of just imply I’d have issues if I came to live with you in Germany?”
He froze, hearing his statement in his mind. He’d been trying to tease her, but it sure had sounded a fuck ton like he was implying she should move in with him. Panic crept stealthily through him, like a cat stalking its prey as the otherwise compatible silence twisted into something uncomfortable.
“Well, in a roundabout way, yes.” The confession wasn’t a shock to him. He already knew how he felt about her and it was only natural that they would either have to move to the same country at some point, or say goodbye. From where he was currently standing, only one was an options.
“Hmm, I guess if we ever get that serious, I guess you’ll have to get re-stationed to somewhere that has a Target.” She winked and turned over to crawl up to the top of the bed and twisted around to sit up once she was next to her pillow.
“Gee, why hadn’t I thought to just get a new billet whenever I felt like it?” He teased as he pulled his shirt off and joined her in bed.
“I don’t know. Guess I have the brains in this relationship?”
Rolling on top of her, he pinned her down gently and dipped his head down to capture her lips. He body thrummed with anticipation, but the yawn that pulled from his lips ended their kiss, leaving them both laughing.
“As much as I’m going to hate saying this, I’m too tired for anything but sleep.” He glanced at the clock on the cable box. “Fucking hell, it’s only nine o’clock.”
She patted his hand and got out of bed. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”
“You heading somewhere?”
“I do most of my chores at night. You get some sleep without me and then tomorrow night you’re in for the cuddle session you’re getting out of tonight.”
He chuckled, his eyes ridiculously heavy with sleep. “Far be it from me to argue with the brains of our relationship.” His last thought as he lay his head on the pillow was how much he’d love to go to sleep with her every night.
Chapter Eleven
She was even beautiful pounding back a giant fish bowl filled with disgusting blue-iced daiquiri’s, he thought, watching as Adrianna and his sister sipped furiously quickly on the straws in one of the famous drink offerings Bourbon Street had to offer.
Grinning, she looked up at him. “Are you sure you don’t want more?”
He pushed the offered drink back. “I am not a big drinker and I promise when I do drink, I want it to taste like something far more appealing than toilet water.”
“Hey!” His sister’s eyes grew wide as she slapped at the air, “do not insult the fish bowl gods.”
Jim busted out laughing, taking the disgusting drink from the women. “I think one of you has had more than enough.” He pushed off the stool in the Olde Absinthe House and nodded toward the door. “I think they need to walk some of this off. Next bar?”
“We are not both drunk . . . yet.” Adrianna added, grabbing the now cool shot of Absinthe off the bar and tossed it back. Gagging, she smacked her hand into her chest. “Fuck, that is even worse cold.”
He took her hand, helping her off the stool. “That is a far cry better than the slush you two have refilled twice.” He eyed the fish bowl in Jim’s hands.
“Party pooper,” Kailey called with a laugh and took off, leaving Jim trailing after to in an attempt to keep her from hurting herself.
“Betcha haven’t seen that side of your sister before?” Adrianna asked with a sparkle in her eye as she threaded her fingers through his.
“I have not, and I must admit, I’m pretty damned impressed at how well you’re holding your alcohol.”
She smirked, eyes dancing with amusement. “I’m not drinking nearly as much as it appears. I bite the tip of the straw about seventy percent of the time. Kailey has gotten most of it. I just wanted to see how you were in a party setting.”<

“You little minx,” he shouted over the roar of Bourbon Street’s usual merriment. Tugging her against him, he slipped his arm over her shoulder, still leaving their hands entwined. “And how am I in a party setting.”
She pouted, “Rather boring actually. I kind of like it though.”
“I’m not sure if I’m offended or not.”
“Not,” she shouted as the caught up to Kailey and Jim outside the Tropical Isle mini stand where Jim was handing over money for a Hand Grenade.
“And why is that?”
“Because it means you’re not a party animal, and neither am I.”
“She’s lying!” Kailey hollered with a smile. “You should have seen her at the bachelorette party.
“That doesn’t count! That’s a once in a lifetime thing.”
“You better believe it is,” Jim called, kissing his wife quickly.
Jaxon couldn’t help but be happy for his sister, but at the same time, he felt as if he’d missed out on so much of her life. He didn’t know she liked to have fun – that wasn’t the sister he’d left behind. There was no way he’d known just how truly happy she and Jim were, because he hadn’t been there to see it. The military had shaped him into a much better person than he would have been if he’d stuck around New Orleans, but it also made him miss out a lot.
“I think, you had best start to party with Kailey or she’s going to pissed when she realizes she was drunk alone,” Jaxon said, handing his card over to the bartender. “One Hand Grenade, tall”.
“Jaxon,” Adrianna leaned up next to him, “I wanted to do something else with you tonight too.”
He couldn’t help the snort that burst out at her statement. “Trust me darling, I can still make sure you scream even if you’re boozin’.”
“You say such sweet things to me, Jaxon Donovan!” She cried, letting Kailey drag her towards the music sounding from a bar whose name he couldn’t see and he’d long forgotten.
