Looking out the window, Brenda said, “My boys are sure having fun, and one never grew up”, saw Shane burying his nine-year-old son Nicky into the snow.
Baby Suzette started crying in the playpen and turning away from the window, Brenda said, “Where is that son of mine?”
Putting down the dinner rolls, Ella said, “I will get her ma”.
“Thanks dear”.
Hurried, grabbing a bottle from the refrigerator and rushing in by screaming Suzette, lifted her up into her arms snug said, “Oh it’s okay sweet girl”.
Sitting on the brown recliner, Danny Ray shaking his head said, “Aw her daddy’s been gone two hours now”.
Sat down on the rocker, Ella replied, “I am afraid he is drinking”.
“Exactly it has not stopped if anything its worse”, grabbing a handful of peanuts from the dish sitting on the coffee table.
Twenty minutes later, Danny Ray’s words exactly, Sebastian comes home drunker then a skunk.
The whole family stood stunned and a few become upset when Sebastian stumbled into the Christmas tree literally falling back into it.
Laughed saying, “Hey, guess I am a Grinch steeling Christmas, huh” and cracked up laughing pushed the tree down.
Hands against her head, Brenda screaming, “SEBASTIAN!”
His brothers helping him up, he shoved Saul and Seth off roughly, and watching Ella had tears. Wasn’t the only one, his six-year-old daughter Kayla was crying watching her father on a drunken rampage when Charlene with Missy took her in the other room. Crying out to her two aunts, “Where has my real daddy gone?”
Flipped out throwing gifts under the tree, Sebastian slurs, “Guess it will be a blue Christmas” and very mad Brenda screamed, “STOP HIM!”
Trying to grab hold of Sebastian going crazy Danny Ray yelling,
“STOP RIGHT NOW SEBASTIAN!” Pushes his uncle back into the wall and gasping hands against face, Brenda cries out, “Please stop Sebastian!”
Threw a present at his mother saying, “Ho-ho- ho”, laughing heavier. Shane trying to calm his freaking out brother punches him right in the face, Brenda in screaming tears “Oh my god, what’s happening on this holiday”.
Standing into the dining room holding Suzette and in shock Ella watching the five Wiley men trying to calm down the sixth and could not, he slug each one coming at him down onto the floor.
Upset Brenda got right in his face saying, “How dare you drunken idiot”, waved his hand saying, “Aw maw, you’ve needed a stiff drink for over thirty years now”.
Slapped him across the face and he literally rose up his hand at his own mother when his brothers all moved closer ready to gang up on him, as Ella had tears rolling. Snarling, close upon his mother said, “I am not your little boy anymore keep the paws off”.
His brothers ready to catch a swarm of flies in wide open mouths, and literally snarled back Brenda said, “Your right, you are not my boy anymore, I don’t know who you are or want to”, rushing out of the living room crying.
Heard Sebastian shout, “I’M A MONSTER!” Growling flipping the sofa over and now getting in his face highly upset Danny Ray said, “This bull of yours is done”. “Man you’re full of bull, just dying to jump maws bones”.
At that point and crude comment a huge argument exploded between Danny Ray and Sebastian when Brenda heard and comes running back into the living room. Where she found Danny Ray and Sebastian upon each other face-to- face arguing.
His brothers still trying to calm Sebastian down and little Suzette started screaming. Sebastian screamed, “SHUT THAT BRAT UP!”
Saw red, “HOW DARE YOU!”
“Step aside maw”. Slightly pushes her.
Popped him in the face and this fight become worse, Shawn yelled telling all the grandkids, “Get in the recreation room!”
The large group of grandchildren shocked hurried away with a few shaken up and trying to calm the screaming baby Ella walking around the dining table.
Covering his ears, Sebastian shouts, “Aw shut that fucking kid up, my heads killing me”. “Aw boy I’m seconds from hurting you”. Standing near his brothers are shocked and upset.
“Go right ahead my life sucks maw”. Hung her head and Ella in tears trying to calm the baby when Sebastian comes storming up to her with Suzette screaming in her arms, he said, “I told this brat to stop man”.
Put his hand over the baby’s mouth, Ella tries pushing him back yelling, “Sebastian”
Flipped out at this point and trying to jerk his baby out of Ella’s arms that was now screaming along with Brenda, “STOP HIM!”
However, his brothers were just a second to late, he actually pushed Ella and his daughter down onto the floor.
Due to the struggle over trying to grab her out of Ella’s arms and the screams were many, “OH MY GOD!”
“NO!”
“OH GOD THE BABY!”
At that horrifying moment, Shawn hit his brother very powerful, that he literally knocked him out and had no choice either, furious Danny Ray said, “Get him in the back bedroom boys”. The women stood around Ella sitting on the floor holding the baby saying “She is fine” and Brenda cried out, “Thank the lord!”
In tears rolling, Ella said, “He’s getting worse!” Reaching the baby to Brenda took her grandchild Ella stood up walking away.
Raising her black eyebrows high, “Yes I am scared leaving these girls with him”, replied Brenda.
Charlene and Missy just stood in tears speechless looking at the baby. Picking up broken glass off the brown carpeted floor, “He needs help Brenda”, said Danny Ray and Brenda held the baby looking around at such a destructive mess.
The tree lay on its side and all the gifts were scattered along with pictures and holiday decorations.
Even the living room curtain to the big picture window was torn down. Sniffling, Brenda said, “I know he does, but I hated to admit it”, and her other sons walking into the trashed living room, Shawn said, “Were committing him maw whether you approve or not we decided”.
Quivering, “I agree boys, its best what other choice do we have, he’s turned into a mean drunk!” Wipes tears rolling.
Heartbroken, Brenda added, “Aw he always had a mean streak, but never drank, lord why did he start, why?” Walking out of the bathroom and passes the back room heard Sebastian saying, “Merry Christmas Ella”.
Pausing, peeks in the room, saw him sitting on the end of the bed, replied, “Far from merry Sebastian”. Rose his head looking at her said, “Hope you’re happy”. “I’m ecstatic, watching you lose control”.
“Yeah, because of you destroying me”.
“I don’t want to listen to this no more”.
“Sure, your life is fine, huh?”
“No, not really”.
“Aw, you’re such a liar, I noticed the big rock on your finger from kiss ass Saul, right?”
Putting hand behind her back, he smirks saying, “I already saw it Ella”. “So what, he’s my husband”.
Laughs out, “Hope you live happy ever after”.
“You’re so mean”.
“Yeah, I am and your such a two timing whore”.
Gasped, “You need help”.
“Don’t worry, my family is committing me in a rehab center, happy to know that Ella”, shook her head meaning-no, he added, “Some Christmas, huh”.
Teary eyed, staring at Sebastian, says, “I will be throwing up and you’ll be opening gifts with the lucky one you belong with, right?” Waves hand said, “Oh Sebastian, I have loved you”, rushing away down the hallway and stretching back on the bed, grips the pillow mumbling. “You hurt me so bad pretty baby”.
Twenty-four hours later on a very sad Christmas day, Sebastian was admitted into a rehab clinic with his mother, Danny Ray and brothers at his side.
Before he had to leave with a man, he looked at his family and said, “I am truly sorry to each of you”.
Shawn just stood quiet, patting Sebastian’s back, S
aul said, “Just get well, huh”, eyes watery, Stanley said, “Be strong brother, we love you”.
Patting Sebastian’s shoulder, “Sure do brother, we want the old you back”, said Shane and stepping forward, Sebastian said, “I treated you the worst and am very sorry Shane”, nodded and teary eyed, Seth said, “I want the old Sebastian back to and I am sorry for everything, your my big brother”.
“I love you Seth, your my little brother, wasn’t just your fault”.
Now the man telling Sebastian, time to go, he waves and walked away his family stood feeling awful.
Puts her head against Danny Ray’s chest crying out, “My son”,
“Why did this happen?’
“Oh god why, my heart is broken?”
Patting her back, she clung to Danny Ray that said, “He needs the help Brenda”, sniffling replied, “I know, but it’s Christmas day”.
Crying heard, “Maw take care of my little princesses”.
“I sure will Sebastian”. Blew her a kiss and she cries out, “I know the real Sebastian is in there somewhere, but will he come back?”
“Yes Brenda, if he stops drinking, that makes him a mean person”.
The Wiley’s that Christmas were not at all merry, but knew they had to be strong for the many children to enjoy the holiday.
Ella completely heartbroken and Saul sure noticed her sorrow and tried talking to her curled up on the bed in their bedroom. Standing before the bed with his arms folded asked, “What Ella it’s killing you about my brother it seems?” Sitting up on the bed replied, “Of course he’s your brother, I love him to”.
“Yeah I know”.
“Saul what are you getting at”.
“Nothing, what could there be, right?”
“Yes, nothing Saul”, walked out of their room and she broke down crying heavily, he stood outside of the door hears her and hung his head, mumbling, “He’s the one”.
Two weeks pass, Ella asked her friend Rhonda to take her up to see Sebastian in the rehab clinic.
Standing in the lobby, Rhonda said, “I will wait”.
“Okay, thanks” and followed an older lady took her through the large place, and around two corners then up to a closed door?
Where she said, “Mr. Wiley is in here”.
Nervous, Ella replied, “Should I just go in?”
“Yes it is fine, Mr. Wiley has already been through the worst, still, not fully there yet”.
Grabs the handle to the door opening it Ella enters the dark room, froze looking at Sebastian sitting in a chair facing the window.
Instantly, tears rolled down and said, “Sebastian?”
“What do you want Ella?” Grumbling out, “I should ask you which brother you really want, huh?”
Walks closer and said, “Only you, it’s always been deep inside my heart and soul”. Staring out the window watching the falling rain, asked, “Why did you hurt me so bad Ella!”
“I swear to god Sebastian that I never meant to or will never hurt you again”. Silent a moment and she added, “I vow that I’ll never break your heart, Sebastian!”
Sat quietly and she cried out, “That’s a full blown guarantee I love you so much Sebastian!”
Bowing his head said, “Do not make a promise of that, because I truly feel you love me and Seth the same”, sniffles.
“No Sebastian”, jumped up off the chair fast, turns around facing her said, “Yes you do
just admit it”.
“Admit what?”
“You love two brothers Ella,” putting hands to her head saying, “No, I do not Sebastian”.
Got real close in her face, heard him growl and shook, he said, “Bull Ella, you are the best fucking liar I ever met!”
Cried out, “You’re wrong, I have loved you since the park when you were just fifteen”. “But things changed, right, Seth come into the picture”, Ella crying heavier.
Threw his hand up, said, “You cannot stay away from him or being in his arms”. Pointing at him in tears pouring, “Yes I can that’s a lie”.
“No you’re lying, because he banged you the night I almost died!” “Why do you keep bringing that up, you already knew I had been with Seth”.
Much closer in her face literally felt his hot breath he replied, “Sleeping with Seth that night was the worst thing ever, I was suffering and your feeling pleasure, right Ella”. Covering her ears, yells, “Stop!”
Hanging her head and upon her close, said, “You tell me the truth, if we both were standing before you, which one would you pick, leaving the other crushed”. Putting hands over her face cried, “Exactly”, snarled Sebastian kicking the chair down, she jumped back and he said, “What a mess this is, because you cannot even answer!” Upset, carried on pacing around Ella and raving on, “You been lying to yourself, because you cannot choose between me and Seth!”
In tears flowing crying out, “I do not want to hurt Seth, he is so kind and sincere”. “So hurt me over Seth, right Ella”.
“No”. Twisting purse strap hung head.
Close in her face again, said, “News flash, you did Ella, destroying me inside”. Crying heavily gasping out, “Yes I did and I am so sorry, Sebastian”. Putting hands against his head said, “Sorry, yeah right, you’re not sorry about anything I think you like getting fucked so much, surprised you have energy to tend to the kids”. Eyes huge huffing out, “How dare you”.
Pointing at her, said, “No, how dare you hurt me this bad, get out of my site, please before I flip, I’m warning you Ella”. Turned towards the door and asked, “Guess it’s really over between us, right Sebastian?”
Stood staring out the window silently and she says, “I love you Sebastian, forever, this I swear, no lie!” Standing by the door looking at him added, “Please answer, are we done Sebastian?”
Turned around facing Ella that saw tears rolling down from his only eye reached his hand around his neck with her looking on and yanked the necklace, “MY GIRL” off throwing it at her replied, “Does that answer your question”.
Bent down reaching to pick it up and he comes forward stepping on it with his steel toe boots, crushing it, and said, “Well it’s totally broken, just like my heart without repair Ella!”
Running out of the room crying, leans against the wall sobbing out, “It’s really over”. “Oh my god no”,
“I cannot lose Sebastian”.
In the room, picking up the broken pieces to the necklace mumbles, “Well my girl is really gone”.
On the ride home, Rhonda drives, felt very bad glancing at Ella crying and said, “He’s just hurt Ella is all, he will come around watch”.
“I don’t think so, Sebastian’s very stubborn and different, his hearts mainly cold, he will not forgive me”.
“No he is making sure you suffer like he did and never to hurt him again, bet girlfriend”.
Looking at Rhonda, and wiping her eyes asked, “You really think that’s it?” Waving her one hand, Rhonda said, “Of course, mark my words”. “No, breaking the necklace that he had special made, wearing it all these years was the sign”.
Rhonda frown, Ella added, “I lost Sebastian completely, oh god it’s over”.
Stopping at a red light, Rhonda reached opening the glovebox, hands Ella a box of tissues and taking a few sniffles out,” Thanks”.
A few weeks pass by, Sebastian was released from the rehab clinic and the family was glad that he was home, but also prayed he stuck to never touching another drop.
First thing Sebastian had done when he got out was made a mends with his favorite brother and it did not take but a few seconds for Shane to except his favorite brother’s apology.
A few days pass by since Sebastian comes home and wanted to see his daughter Hope, but Mandy refused since the scene he caused last time. They got into a huge argument on the phone, she hung up getting ready for work at the local diner.
Later that night, shift ended and walking out the diner Mandy digging through her purse hunting for her ke
ys the parking lot was dark she approached the car.
Suddenly, a brick smashed her upside the head, instantly fell to the ground, and lays in a puddle of blood.
Standing above her a tall person wearing a ski mask says, “Goodbye to another Wiley lover?’
The next morning at the Wiley home, standing by the sink cleaning up the breakfast dishes, the doorbell ringing, quickly Brenda grabbed the dishtowel and went to the front door.
Opening it, saw Marcy in tears holding little Hope doing patty -cake and looked so adorable in a pink dress.
A half hour later, Brenda sat on the living room floor playing toys with her granddaughter.
Rushing in the front door, wearing a red bandana on his head longer golden locks Sebastian asked, “What’s going on?” Out of breath.
“Sorry to make you leave work son”, waving his hand replied, “Aw its fine maw, what happened?”
Looking at Hope rocking a baby doll, sadly said, “Oh Sebastian, Mandy is dead!” Standing there literally dazed from shock, Sebastian stumbles back against the wall and remained silent.
Two days later, after the funeral, Sebastian just stood by the grave of Mandy, tears rolling down his face, when Shane comes walking up behind and Sebastian said, “Aw brother you think it might have been those guys that attacked me and killed Tara?” “I don’t know Sebastian, except this is a shame”. Shaking his head.
Wiping tears from his only eye, growls out, “If I ever find them Shane, I will torture them slowly, that’s a promise for what they have done”.
Patting his shoulder said, “Aw let’s get home brother”, and Sebastian said, “I will take good care of our daughter, goodbye Mandy!”
He and Shane walked away leaving the gravesite, and on the drive home Shane asked, “Hey you hungry?”
“Nah, I feel sick, why are you?”
“I always am brother”, and pulling into a drive through, placed the order, pulls away cramming fries into his mouth and watching smirks saying, “You sure are hungry”.
After Shane took his sad brother home, he went to the grocery store that afternoon and filled a shopping cart with three cases of formula and two jumbo packs of small size diapers.
