   About the Author
Kate Christie was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and currently makes her home in Western Washington with her wife, three daughters, and the family dog. Recently she moved her writing office from the spare bedroom—requisitioned by her twin toddlers—into a backyard shed that she built from a kit with help from her father and father-in-law. She now enjoys the nightly stroll from the back deck to her new office, accompanied variously by the songs of birds settling in for the night, the flutter of bats taking wing, and the pitter-pat of rain dripping from hundred-foot tall fir and cedar trees.
