“I can’t survive in your world beyond one night at midsummer and midwinter, just as you can’t survive here.”
He hadn’t known that. “Why not?”
“Your skin for one would never survive being constantly in water. There are other problems, but let’s not talk about such things now.” She drifted to an opening in the roof.
On the roof itself, plants grew, forming a leafy garden—another reminder of how different their worlds were.
Serena slipped inside and he followed, bumping into an edge as he did so. He let the side go and drifted downwards. The extra dimension in being able to float and up and down would take some getting used to.
Below was a large room lit up by floating light-emitting creatures. Vines ran up columns to the ceiling. Any similarity to a home he lived in didn’t exist here. Where was the bedroom, living room and all the other normal things such as furnishings? He looked to window. Outside, he saw another shark passing followed by a woman and a young girl.
“Come here,” Serena said, indicating a large bed of green vines.
Surely she didn’t sleep on that.
Reclining on the bed she extended her hand. “You’ll be pleasantly surprised.”
Despite first appearances, the bed was comfortable.
“Lie back and close your eyes,” she murmured.
He wanted to protest, but found it hard to refuse. Hovering over him, her hair draped over his body, like a hundred hands caressing him at once. Her eyes shifted in colors he couldn’t describe, giving an almost hypnotic effect. Ripples of warm energy raced over his body and the heat in his spine intensified.
She undid the buttons of his shirt. Her other hand slid between the waistband of his pants. “I’ll start by taking off your clothes.”
“Please,” he said in barely a whisper.
* * * *
After ridding him of his clothes, she could not help but admire his well-toned torso. She ran a tendril of hair over his nipple. The contact sent tingles straight to her core. “There. Isn’t that better?”
Naked, Stefan ran his hands over the bed. “This feels so strange.”
“Being able to float enables you to experience what you cannot on land.” Gently nudging him back on the bed, she ran her hand over a vine. It swirled around his arm. Other vines followed, tying up his ankles and wrists. A low groan from his throat was all she needed to move beside him. She loved the feeling of her hair over a man’s body. His cock certainly didn’t disappoint but she had other plans for him first.
His eyes ablaze with desire, she knew the perfect means to give him release—using her hair. Tendrils of hair ran over his legs, making her sigh. Little currents of energy raced up her hair and over her body. Slowly she ran other tendrils of hair to between his legs, moving back and forward in gentle up and down strokes. Her nipples peaked and moisture surged to her core. “Are you enjoying this?” she murmured.
Stefan arched back, his fists clasping in and out. His whole body writhed to the ministrations of her hair. “Yesssss, but what about you.”
Oh I am, don’t you worry. “I enjoy watching as much as participating.” Serena slid her fingers between her legs. Her gaze met Stefan’s who watched her intently. She knew he fought to hold his impending orgasm, which turned her on even more. Widening her legs, she thrust her finger into her vagina, then drew it out again. Her nipples formed into hardened peaks as her arousal grew. A tendril of her hair swept over her nipples, twisting, then briefly in a burst of heightened pleasure. She gasped as she loosened her hair again. Oh yesss. Nothing turned her on more than watching each other come.
Stefan arched back as a tendril of her hair swept over his slit.
She gasped as her own orgasm flooded through her.
Stefan cried out and went rigid for seconds.
His labored breathing made her want to come again and again. Any other time and she would have. Serena could go for some time before she was spent. Tonight she needed Stefan for another reason, to conceive. She moved towards him until her breasts touched his chest. “I want more.”
His eyes were dreamy. “That was amazing.”
Tingles ebbed over her body. She could imagine quite a few positions with Stefan. The thought made her juices flood into the water. She considered what to do when next when hands grasped her hips.
He moved her over the top of him. “Widen your legs,” Stefan ordered, “and don’t move.”
Well well, who was taking charge now?
Stefan held her so her labia barely touched his lips. He flicked his tongue over her mound, making her gasp. It had been some time a man’s tongue had touched her there. Her hair was good compensation for her desires but nothing beat a man. It had been too long as it was.
A tidal wave surged over body as his nipped her clit. The surrounding water rocked them back and forward. She looked down into his fixed gaze. Slowly she moved her fingers over each nipple, causing a moan to escape Stefan’s lips as he watched. The vibration on her clit nearly sent her over, but she fought the desire down.
He released her and, between labored breaths, said, “Why are you holding off?”
“We have all night, so why the rush?” she lied. Her second orgasm would be her most fertile time. Beyond that, the chance of conception was dramatically weakened. She extended her hand back, found his erect cock and gave it a light squeeze. “Just imagine what I can do with you inside me.”
“Only if you do exactly as I say.”
Why not let him. It wasn’t often a man wanted to take control. “What do I do?”
“Stay where you are.” He floated past her until he was out of sight. She tried to turn around but he held her still. His breath floated over her neck. “Close your eyes.”
A finger paused between her legs.
“I know we’re in water yet I can smell and taste you. It’s…odd and yet anywhere else, we’d not be able to do what I plan to do to you next.”
“What—”
He pressed his erection into the crack in her butt. “Kneel, with your legs wide open.”
So he could take her mid-air from behind. While she had tried that before, Stefan wouldn’t have. She would make it a little more interesting for him, but not yet. For now, she’d do exactly what he wanted.
With no warning, he slid in first one finger, two, then a third. Spreading her legs apart further he moved, the action helping his fingers brush her sensitive spot. “Don’t come to, unless I allow you to,” he ordered.
Could she hold off? She had done so many a time to heighten her pleasure, but with Stefan? She wasn’t sure if she could.
He tilted her body one side and kissed her.
She moaned into his mouth as his tongue plundered hers. She met her tongue thrust for thrust with his. His fingers worked in and out at a pace that made it almost impossible for her to stay in control.
He released the kiss, but not the movement of his fingers. “Bend over.”
Her spine thrummed with energy. Dear goddess, I’m going to come.
Stefan removed his fingers.
She let out a sigh of anguish, replaced by a contented growl as he entered her from behind. Serena wiggled her butt to take him in as deeply as possible.
He leaned against her back, cupping her breasts with each hand. “This is perfect. You are perfect.”
Before she could answer, he thrust hard. A primal sound escaped her throat. Deep inside, smoldering embers began to ignite, fuelling a fire that threatened to consume her.
“I’ll going to enjoy you for as long as I can,” he said between gasps.
His trusts slowed, then sped up again. She could barely believe how close she was, and each time she wanted to come she had to hold it back. Her whimpers made him move faster. He kneaded her breasts, one by one. Bolts of sheer delight tore over her body. She linked to his mind, and caught a maelstrom of primal lust. Fuelling her own into his brought her desire to new heights, nearly took her breath away. Such desire and all focused on her.

Serena was going to miss him after he’d gone. Rather than feel saddened about tomorrow, she focused on the here and now. The moment, when one knows there will never be another like it, made it all the sweeter. The lightest of touches on her mound sent her into a shuddering climax. She’d not even seen it coming. A low moan escaped her lips.
“More?”
She cried out this time, and as she did so, felt his warmth as he spilled into her. Light flashed in her womb.
In the ebbing throes of his orgasm, Stefan asked, “What was that?”
Too late to shield him, she considered lying. After all, he’d most likely never come back. “The making of a child.”
He released his hold on her and drifted away. “So that’s why you brought me here.”
Anguish filled her at the separation. “Your powerful psychic gift will give this child the means to survive in both worlds.”
Stefan grabbed his clothes. “So that’s why men come here. To be used for breeding.”
She let her hair part, exposing her body. Tendrils extended to grip his wrists. She couldn’t afford to have him escape. He’d drown. “Yes, but ours will be unique.”
* * * *
Stefan was about to leave when he realized he couldn’t. He’d drown within moments of leaving the room.
“You wanted this, and so did I.”
Her floating naked before him distracted him terribly. “You used me.”
“Wouldn’t you want to be able to traverse both realms at will? I know I would, if it were possible.”
Stefan tried to imagine such ability. To see Atlantis at a whim or to visit beyond another thin place and not risk madness or death. It held a certain appeal. “I suppose I would.”
“You can return to Atlantis if you want.”
Stefan hadn’t even considered the possibility of coming back. He was having trouble considering what he’d just done to Serena. “You’ll make me forget.”
“Not if you want to remember.”
“Why would you do that? Isn’t it a risk?”
“Not if you have a son or daughter living here. You’d want to keep him, or her, safe.”
She had a point, but still, all this was moving way too fast. “I need to think about it.”
“I see.”
Did he detect a hint of sadness in her voice? “Serena. I don’t know what I think right now.”
A tendril of hair circled around his cock. Another tendril ran trails of fire over his balls. “Stay till dawn. Then you can decide.”
Any hesitation fled at that point. Tomorrow he’d be able to think more clearly. Tomorrow he’d decide what to do.
Stefan stood on the beach looking out towards the yacht. He ached in every place imaginable. Never had he spent so much time immersed in pure sexual pleasure. By the time dawn had come, he had made his decision.
Not to see her again would be worse so he had agreed. To never feel her lips on his or that amazing hair on his body again. Maybe next time he’d see some of the city as well. He also felt some responsibility to her. While Serena had made it clear raising the child would not be his concern, he wanted it to be.
He stepped towards the shoreline. The tingling in his spine had gone, as had Serena. The portal had closed one more.
He turned towards the sea. The yacht was there, thank goodness. The noise from the motor of the dingy drew close. One man waved and Stefan waved back. He waited until Nathan came close enough to climb in. There was no need to stay any longer.
“You ok?” Nathan asked. “Adam said I lost consciousness and you just...vanished.”
“I wandered off and slept for a while,” he lied.
“You look exhausted.”
That was an understatement. He could barely suppress a yawn. “I’m fine, truly.”
“So you didn’t see anything at all?”
“No.”
Nathan turned the dingy seaward. “Maybe we should try further north.”
He knew they’d find nothing, but for Nathan’s sake, he nodded. “Let’s do that.”
GOING UNDER
Viola Grace
Ariana Simmons touched up her hair and took a final look at the comfortable cabin that had made her travel to the water covered world of Aht-Lantys bearable. Her gear would be taken to the shuttle while she was at her final examination in medical.
She took a deep breath, then another, as the strange tightness in her chest didn’t ease. Since her transformation had begun, she had eased into the gills that were now sprouting on her back and neckline. In a few days they would be fully functioning and she would be able to live and mate under the water.
Fantastic.
Her hands shook as she palmed the door open and headed to the medical bay under guard. Today a Tival crewman was escorting her, carefully keeping a respectful distance from her and watching to make sure that the other crew personnel kept that same distance.
Her body was screaming with the touch of air on her skin. It wanted nothing more than the soothing embrace of water. The pheromones that she had begun to produce were the reasoning behind her escort. The last thing that she needed was an uncontrolled mating when she was so close to her final destination.
The door to medical hissed open and she nodded politely to her escort as she left him to enter the sterile and bland medical bay. Without a comment she hopped up on an exam table and waited.
“How are you doing today, Ariana? Any discomfort?” His burnished silver skin was stretched across his frame, making the top of his head gleam in the artificial light as she looked down at him.
“I am fine, doc. A little problem with the lack of pressure in my quarters, but nothing that a few hours in a tank won’t cure.” Her hand came to her chest and she tried to take a deep breath as he ran the scanners over her body.
“There won’t be any tank today. We are in orbit over Aht-Lantys, and this is just a final check to make sure that your transformation is continuing apace.” The readouts were scrolling by and whatever he saw seemed to satisfy him as the lights and numbers flashed.
“I assumed as much.” She reached out with a sigh of relief to the hand that proffered a glass of water. Without looking at it she slammed it back and smiled as her body grabbed hold of it. It was only as she licked her lips that she tasted the salt on her lips. “A saline ocean?”
“Yes, it covers over seventy-five percent of the surface. We will land your shuttle on one of the small land masses that dot the western hemisphere.”
“Fantastic. Am I good to go?” She hopped off the table and stood, shifting from foot to foot.
“Yes, your escort will take you to the shuttle bay.”
“Thanks, doctor. You have been most helpful.” She gave him a quick kiss on the top of his shiny head and moved to the door. It hissed open and she nodded again to her escort, not looking at him and simply following him to the shuttle bay. No other members of the crew were there to see them off when they stopped before the shuttle that would take them to the surface. Her escort took her hand in his gloved one and helped her in.
The configuration was foreign to her. Even after her years in space, she had never seen anything like this before. It was an organic ship. With hands shaking in anticipation she took the co-pilots seat and strapped herself in. Well, the ship itself wrapped around her in a gentle grip, the upper reaches of the seat creeping down over her shoulders and the sides of the seat wrapping around her thighs. She wasn’t going anywhere.
“This is snug.” She squirmed experimentally and was held fast.
“The kalniv have been wonderful transporters of the Aht-Laynteans for eons. They do so enjoy the short hops to neighbouring worlds.” The pilot spoke in a strangely resonant tone. She looked at his face and her eyes widened in surprise.
Solid black eyes looked out of a green and silvery skinned face. His black hair was secured firmly behind his head in a tightly wrapped tail. She had no idea how long it was, but she bet it was longer than her own shoulder-length locks.
>
The rest of his body was covered by a form-fitting suit that she felt foolish for not seeing earlier. Her thoughts had been on the planet, never imagining that her pilot was one of the locals. “I am so sorry. I was lost in thought. I am Ariana Simmons of the protectorate of Terra.” She held her hand out, palm up in Aht-Lantean greeting.
“Javil Ecarn of Aht-Lantys. Pilot, musician and mayor of the city of Linmon. Your betrothed husband.” He gripped her hand warmly, his skin causing her palm to tingle, then he turned to the view port.
Wait. What did he say? “Um, did I miss something? You are not my husband.”
“You were transformed at my request, brought here at my request and selected by my personal tastes. By Aht-Lantean law, you are my wife.” He seemed extremely amused, and yet managed to pilot the kalniv out of the shuttle bay and begin a descent pattern to the planet without a glance at her.
She was terrified now. The whole idea of being sent to marry a man that she didn’t know had been a little amorphous until this moment. Her body shook and she felt faint. A cool band crossed her forehead and she sighed at the relief of tension that it brought. “I didn’t expect to meet anyone for a few days. Certainly not you.”
He chuckled and spared her a flick of his midnight eyes. “You look just like the image that I saw of you a year ago. Your skin is a bit paler though and your eyes are darker.”
“It’s a side effect of the transformation process. Apparently this is to acclimate me to my new home.” She pointed to the darkening whites of her eyes and the expanded pupils. “It has taken me a while to get used to the new color spectrums.”
“Yes, I can see where the changes would be disconcerting.” He held the steering grips in his hands as the re-entry began to make the organic shuttle shiver and shake. “We are going to head directly to my home in Linmon. There are air-breather quarters for you there until you acclimate.”
