“You’re pregnant, aren’t you?”
“What? No! Lord, I’ve been on birth control for six years mother.”
“Doesn’t mean it’s always effective.”
I rolled my eyes, “I’m not pregnant. Finn asked me to marry him today.”
“Julianna, I know. He called and asked for permission and he proposed last we—wait, say that again?” She finally figured out what I meant by today.
“Finn wants me to go to the courthouse with him down here in Georgia to get married today.”
“Honey, you’ve only been engaged for a week and you wanted your whole family at your wedding. What brought this on?”
I bit my lip before continuing, “His mother is really old fashioned about having sex before marriage. Well, she caught us having sex this morning in the shower but that was after she found the condom on Finn’s floor when she came in to surprise him with breakfast for his birthday. Now they aren’t talking, and Finn is having the worst birthday ever. I just want to make him happy.”
My mother sighed, “Julianna, you can’t get married just because you want to make Finn happy.”
“No, I know that. I want to marry him. It’s crazy how much I wanted to just say ‘yes, let’s go’ without calling you. But he knows I want my family there. He even offered that we throw a reception for all of the family, probably once soccer season comes to an end. It’s over in October.”
“If you want to get married, then I can’t stop you. I had a courthouse wedding my first time around when I was your age. They are a big money and headache saver. We will all support you if this is what you want to do,” I could hear it in her voice that she meant it.
“I want to do this,” I said quietly.
“Then go do it. Call me later, I love you.”
“I love you, too. Bye.”
Tossing my phone back on the bed, I charged down the stairs and swung open the front door. Finn looked up quickly from his phone. I walked over to him and straddled his lap as he sat on the swing and kissed him deeply.
When I pulled back, I said the only thing that I wanted to say in that moment.
“Let’s go get married.”
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride,” the justice of the peace said happily as Finn and I smiled wide at each other, our hands clasped together tight.
Finn pulled me to him and released my hands. Quickly, he dipped me down and kissed me hard. Our witnesses, Cooper and Amelia clapped. Finn had sworn Cooper to secrecy until we would announce at the party this afternoon that we got married. Hopefully Sofie would be able to keep the secret because they brought her along too.
After Finn finally brought me up to stand up straight, Cooper, Amelia and Sofie all came over to give us a hug. I smiled as Finn and Cooper held their hug for longer than usual, Cooper softly telling Finn something that made him grin at me.
Before we left the house, Finn changed into a white button up shirt and black slacks. The look reminded me of what he wore on our first date. At least this time around I would be able to take that shirt off of him. Once Cooper and Amelia were secured as our witnesses, they came with us to the jewelry store where we picked out our wedding bands.
While Finn was trying to decide which band he liked better to go with my engagement ring, Amelia demanded that we go across the street to a small boutique for me to get a more suitable dress. Apparently, the light blue sundress I had chosen wasn’t good enough.
At the boutique we found a white lace V-neck dress. It was a perfect fit and I loved the way that the skirt flared out at the waist. After purchasing the dress and some white flats, we persuaded the store owner to let me change in her bathroom because we were on a time crunch. I had never felt more beautiful than when Finn saw me after we returned to the jewelry store. The way he looked at me both turned me on immensely and made my heart skip a beat.
When everything was done at the courthouse, we started walking back to the car. We would be seeing Cooper, Amelia, and Sofie very shortly again at Finn’s birthday party. Finn and I stopped outside the midnight blue Kia Sorento rental car that we had gotten. I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him deeply, just as I had wanted to do when we were first pronounced husband and wife.
“How does it feel to be a married woman, Mrs. McAllister?” Finn smiled wide as he picked me up and spun me around.
“It feels amazing!” I cheered loudly, causing a couple across the street to look at us.
He chuckled and put me down, my hands sliding down from his neck to rest against his chest.
“Now you tell me, Mr. McAllister. How does it feel to be a married man?” I gripped onto his shirt and tilted my head back to look up at him.
“It’s the best feeling in the world, wife.”
I grinned, “Call me that again.”
“My beautiful wife,” Finn smirked as he leaned down to kiss me.
Our lips connected and for the third time since we were officially married, the world fell away. One would think that a simple piece of paper wouldn’t change anything. But the second we had that paper and said our vows, everything changed because now we were one another’s for the rest of our lives. Years ago, I never would have pictured this as the outcome for my life, but hell was I happy that I got shoved at the bar by a drunk guy and had Finn there to save the day.
“We should get to that party,” Finn sighed, resting his head against mine.
“We can go if you do one favor for me later tonight,” I smiled slyly as I took his left hand into both of mine.
“Consummate our marriage? Because I’m already planning on doing that,” he teased, his nose running along mine.
“Well, while we are consummating our marriage, I want you to do something for me.”
“And what is that?”
I leaned back and held up his left hand for him to see the thick silver wedding band on his ring finger, using my finger to point at the smooth metal, “I want you to use this hand to caress my body, so I can feel your new piece of jewelry against my skin. I want this to remind me that you are mine for the rest of our lives.”
Bringing his palm up to face me, I planted a soft kiss against his ring.
“Oh shit,” Finn gasped as he watched me.
Releasing his hand, I grabbed onto his shirt, “Keep looking at me like that and we won’t be making it to the party.”
“What if I don’t want to go?” Finn responded quickly, looking my body up and down.
I playfully pushed him back, “We need to go. Get in the car, I have a surprise for you. Hope you are good at keeping your focus.”
“What the fuck does that mean?” Finn asked as I closed the door of the passenger side after climbing in.
I stuck my tongue out at him as he jogged around the front of the car and climbed in. He started up the car and merged into traffic.
“Why were you asking about my focus?” He asked, looking over at me.
“Keep your eyes on the road and you’ll find out,” I pointed to the windshield.
Finn did as he was told. Now it was time to reward him for listening. Or was I rewarding myself because I wanted him so badly?
My hand moved to his thigh, like it always did as he drove. Innocent enough, right? Wrong. I was about to take this to a whole new level. Some of which might be illegal. I dragged my hand slowly up his leg as I nonchalantly stared out the window. Finn gasped as my hand made contact with its target. I gripped his cock through his dress slacks and started sliding my hand up and down. He was fighting to keep his eyes open and his mouth closed.
“Focus on driving, baby,” I cooed quietly as my hand moved a little faster, gripping just a little harder.
“Fuck,” he groaned as his cock hardened under my fingers.
Let’s step it up several notches, shall we?
At the next red light, I expertly unbuttoned his dress slacks and pulled down the zipper with one hand. Finn helped me out by dragging his cock out of his pants for me. God, he w
as so huge that every time that I saw it, I couldn’t believe it fit into me when we made love. The light turned green and my hand went back to pumping his cock, this time with no barriers. No one in the world knew what we were doing as I pleasured my husband while he drove us to see his family and friends. That just made it all the more fun.
Finn pulled into the driveway of Ashton and Violet’s house, multiple cars lined the street on either side. I wasn’t ready to go to the party just yet. I unbuckled my seatbelt with my free hand as Finn rested his head back against the headrest. He was close to coming, I just knew it.
Shifting in my seat, I pressed my lips against his ear, “You want me to suck your cock, husband?”
“Yes, fucking suck it,” he moaned.
Taking one last glance out the windows, I leaned down and took his cock into my mouth. He tasted amazing, my favorite flavor in the whole world was right there on the tip of my tongue. Finn’s hand reached under my body, moving my panties to the side as he started teasing my clit with his large middle finger. I groaned against his cock as I sucked harder, running my tongue over the tip every time I came up.
“Jules, oh yes. Just like that, baby.”
His free hand moved to my hair as I let him guide me to how he wanted it. It was one thing when Michael would just use my mouth like a sex doll, but with Finn easing my head to bob up and down at the pace he wanted, it was so seductive. I could feel myself get wet from his finger as it rolled circles around my clit.
“Finn, if you keep rubbing me like that, you’re gonna have to make me come before we go to the party,” I grunted before going back to his cock.
He reached for something on the side of the chair and the chair quickly slid backwards, expanding the space between where Finn sat and the steering wheel. I sat up and looked at him as he reclined the chair. Finn patted his lap and grinned at me.
“Get over here, we’re gonna consummate right now.”
How the fuck could I say no to that? Eagerly, I climbed over into the driver’s seat and straddled his lap, pulling my dress up. Finn aligned his cock with my entrance and slammed into me.
“Yes!” I cried out.
“You like that, wife?” Finn grunted before he quickly thrust into me again.
“Yes, fuck me harder, husband,” I groaned.
He held my hips and pounded in to me over and over. As we got close to our release, he let me take over as I rode him.
“I love you, Julianna,” Finn said softly as he gripped onto my ass, his signal that he was about to come.
“I’ll love you forever, Finn,” I whispered as I crashed my lips into his, my orgasm tearing me in two as Finn poured himself into me.
The car was filled with the sounds of our heavy breaths and the smell of sex. My head rested against his chest, my heart pounding just as hard as his. Damn, I was so in love with this man.
“You made me the happiest man in the world today,” Finn finally said something into the quiet of the car.
I lifted my head to look down at him, “You made me the happiest woman in the world.”
Leaning down, I kissed his lips chastely, “Good birthday?”
He grinned, “Best birthday.”
Finn’s phone pinged in his pocket and he haphazardly took it out, “They are looking for us. Time to head in.”
Opening the driver’s side door, I climbed out of the car and adjusted my panties and dress while Finn adjusted himself and his pants. He handed me my black clutch from the passenger side and got out of the car, closing the door behind him. Our fingers interlaced as we held hands, walking through the gate of the tall wooden fence that went around the perimeter of the backyard. Cooper handed us both a glass of champagne when we walked in, giving us a wink.
People I had never seen before rushed over to Finn, wishing him a happy birthday and telling both of us congratulations. All of them believed that we were only engaged, little did they know that we took the biggest leap of faith that there was out there and got married just shy of an hour before.
Finn took a fork from the buffet tablet that was set up in the backyard and clinked his glass to get everyone’s attention. As everyone looked at us, my heart pounded in my chest. We had been waiting to make the announcement but now I was scared. It was like Finn could sense it as he squeezed my hand in his.
“I’ll do all the talking,” he whispered as he planted a quick kiss on my lips.
His mother sat at a front table with her sons, their spouses, and her grandchildren. She hadn’t come up to Finn yet. She may have been waiting for him to go to her first. Esme cooed loudly when everyone quieted down and I giggled.
“Everybody, I just wanted to thank you all for coming out today to celebrate my birthday with me and my engagement with my beautiful Julianna.” The crowd aww’d quietly.
“But you are all here now to celebrate something even bigger than those two things,” he stopped and scanned the room as people gasped.
I heard one person quietly propose to another that she bet I was pregnant. Was she saying that because Finn made it sound like that or because I looked fat in my dress?
“Julianna and I took a major step this morning. Just before we came to the party, we went to the courthouse and got married,” Finn turned to gaze down at me, “She made me the happiest man in the world by saying I do.”
The crowd chattered loudly with excitement and astonishment, Finn’s mother just looked plain shocked. Finn raised his glass up and everyone followed suit.
“To my beautiful wife, Julianna Rose McAllister,” he proposed before taking a sip of his champagne, the light catching his wedding band.
We all took a drink. Ashton and Violet rushed over and hugged us each in turn. Cooper and Amelia followed suit, pretending they didn’t know about it. Then a woman I didn’t know walked up behind Finn as he talked with Cooper and I quietly talked with Amelia.
“Look at you Finn McAllister, all settled down,” she spoke, a slight southern drawl to her voice.
Her raven black hair cascaded down her back, jean shorts that looked almost too short to be comfortable hugged her toned thighs, a black spaghetti strap tank top showed just a touch of her midriff, a flat stomach being one of those parts visible to anybody who looked, and a long floral printed kimono sweater completed her look. Everything about her screamed small-town country girl, all the way down to her fading brown cowboy boots. Suddenly, I felt uncomfortable in my own skin after looking at this raven-haired beauty.
This mystery girl excitedly wrapped her arms around Finn’s neck and hugged him tight. He returned her hug warmly, they looked like old friends. Finn released her and turned to me, grabbing my hand to bring me over to him.
“Julianna, this is my friend from when I was growing up, Celeste Moore. Celeste, this is my Julianna,” he politely introduced us.
The way he said friend made me a little skeptical of how friendly they actually were. Especially by the way that she touched his arm in a very familiar sense.
Friends who have known each other a long time had their own form of communication, Julianna. Calm down, not every girl that Finn knows is an ex-girlfriend.
“Oh Finn, don’t be so polite. Just because I haven’t seen you since you graduated from college and moved up to Minneapolis doesn’t mean we didn’t date during all of high school.”
Apparently, I was wrong. Almost every girl that I had met that Finn knew was an ex. So, this was the infamous high school girlfriend. The one who cried throughout the entire losing her virginity sex. The one that Finn said was nothing like me. Seeing her physically now, I could see she was nothing like me. She was skinny and gorgeous, and I was…me. He had said she was pretty, but he left out the part that she probably had a modeling contract by now.
He doesn’t want her, he wants you. Remember that, Julianna. She wanted to settle down right after graduation and he didn’t want that with her, they grew apart romantically. Then why did I feel like at any second Finn was going to change his mind about marrying me
? I watched as he and Celeste reminisced over some high school memories, things that they shared together. They had four years together and plenty more years as friends. Finn and I had two official months as of yesterday.
I excused myself from their talk and went into the house, walking by just in time to hear two middle-aged ladies speculate about how far along I was since our engagement was only a week long. Finding the bathroom, I closed the door and stared at myself in the mirror. Observing how I looked at all angles in my dress. I didn’t feel like I looked pregnant when I tried it on and even Amelia said that it looked very slimming. She would know, she was six months pregnant. I wasn’t pregnant though, my period had just ended a few days ago. It came and went right on schedule thanks to my pills.
Every negative thing about what Michael had said about me played in my head as I looked at myself in the mirror. I was fat. I was overweight. I was ugly. My arms were big, my thighs rubbed together, my stomach had its own roundish shape. All of these things I had tried to change many times over the years. Doing different workouts, going on all the fad diets. Nothing ever worked. My mom had the same problem all of her life, it was something that was in my genetics. I sat on the edge of the bathtub and silently cried.
Michael was right about me all along, I was all the things that he said I was when it came to my appearance. Up until me, Finn had these skinny model-like girlfriends. What made me so different that he chose me? Did I come off as too desperate?
“Julianna, baby. Are you in there?” Finn’s voice asked as he softly knocked on the door.
I sniffled and cleared my throat, “Yeah, honey. I’ll be right out.”
“I know what you are doing in there,” he sighed.
How the fuck did he know? I was literally crying with no sound…I could have won Best Actress if I was staring in a silent movie.
“I’m just freshening up after what happened in the car,” I replied, hoping that I sounded convincing.
“Jules, please. I can hear it in your voice. Let me in.”
I wiped my eyes and my cheeks quickly, dabbing my nose with the toilet paper I had bunched up in my hand. Going to the door, I opened it and gave Finn a small smile.
