Normal. Did I even know what that was?

Off in the distance, sat our cabin, our temporary home. Soon, we’d move over to a town and blend in. For now, Vasper was out front chopping firewood.

“Do you think he’ll stay with us?”

“I hope so.” Cathal rubbed my cheek with his nose. “Once strangers, now he’s like my brother. I don’t want him to think he’s not wanted with us.”

“Good.” I gazed up at him. “He’s done so much for you, for us, we’ll need him if we’re going to make this work.”

“It’ll work.” Cathal smiled and I kissed the corner of his lips. I loved that look in his eye, the expression on his face, I wanted to eat it up—have us be together as one forever.

Could we have forever? Only time will tell, but Cathal’s words echoed in my ears.

One day, heaven would be made to understand. One day.

And until that day, we’d live together. I’d just had to have faith that everything would work out.

  Faith. Love. Happiness.

Who knew a demon could ever be so lucky?
