Trading Places Page 6

by Anita Cox

After an hour, I exited the bathroom with perfect hair and makeup, donning a white lacy bra, white lacy thong and sheer white half robe. I slid on my white heels halfway down the hall and went in search of John.

Hearing noise downstairs, I carefully made my way down each step, unwilling to roll an ankle. I followed the noise into the kitchen where I found John putting away groceries. Well, this isn’t what I had in mind.

“Whoa,” he said looking up. “How did you have time for that?”

“You were gone when I got out of the shower, so I decided to spruce up a bit.” I winked.

John shook his head, “I’m going to jump in the shower, but when I get out, we’re going to talk about you ruining my surprise.” He kissed my forehead and started to walk away.

  I grabbed his wrist. “Surprise?”

He grinned, shook his wrist free and turned away. “So you didn’t figure it out. I still got game. Answer the door if the bell rings while I’m in the shower.”

Standing with my mouth slack, I watched him walk away. What was he up to?

Like clockwork, the doorbell rang and I was scantily clad. I kicked off my heels and ran to the party room to grab a robe I saw hanging by the door, then made my way to the front door.

“Casey’s Catering,” the woman said when I answered, “where should we set up?”

The woman stood in form fitting black capris and a tight V-neck t-shirt. Behind her stood five more women, all dressed identically.

  “I, uh…”

“The bar is what the instructions said. Can you show us to the bar?” She smiled, holding onto her patience.

“I’m sorry, yes, please follow me.” I cinched the belt a little tighter on the robe and led the caterer into the bar area. “Here we are…”

“Great, this is perfect. It’ll take about forty-five minutes to set up. We’ll clean up our mess afterward, so no guests will see it. So, we’ll be ready before the seven-thirty time slot we were given.” She nodded at me then waved off her crew.

“Okay, if you need anything…” The offer was ridiculous. As if I knew what the hell was going on, much less how to help.

“There was supposed to be an ice dispenser in the bar, do you…”

I shook my head. “I’m sorry, this is my first day here. Maybe behind the bar?”

She walked behind the bar, lifted a lid on a silver bin and gave me a thumbs up. Not knowing what else to do, I retrieved my purse and retreated to the balcony for a smoke.

The sun was far from setting, casting a warm glow on the balcony garden. I leaned back on the lounge chair and closed my eyes.

“Did the catering service get set up?” John walked out in a towel.

“Do you mind telling me what’s going on?” I smirked. “Am I a little underdressed for a party? You did tell me not to bring clothes, if I remember right.”

John laughed and sat next to me. “I asked my question first.”

I rolled my eyes. “Yes, they’re setting up right now.”

John nodded and smiled. “Good. Now to answer your question, tonight we’re christening the house. New house means a housewarming party, but I thought we could do it our way.”

“A housewarming slash swinger party?” I snickered. “God, I swear you’re inside my head all the time anymore, aren’t you?”

He leaned forward, taking my face in his hands. Four light kisses later, he finally spoke. “Get used to it.”

John took my hand and helped me stand. He brushed his lips lightly against mine. My heart leapt in my throat.

“So when does the party start?” I panted.

John squinted as he grinned. “As soon as the doorbell rings.” He ran his finger along my hairline, tucking a loose strand behind my ear. “And that should be any minute. Let’s head downstairs.”

I nodded and took his hand, walking with him to the main floor. The moment we reached the bottom of the stairs the doorbell chimed.

John released my hand and hurried to the door. James and Janette walked through with six other people.

“Candy! Look at you!” Janette ran up to me and wrapped her arms around me. “You look stunning!” A quick air kiss to the cheek and she jerked back. “Where can I change?” she mouthed.

Janette could be so overwhelming sometimes.

“Welcome, everyone. Let me show you into the party room.” John, always the knight in shining armor, took charge.

We followed him into the party room, where he ushered the women toward a changing area.

“The bar is over here. There is plenty of food and drinks, so please, make yourself at home.”

Music started playing and the lights dimmed. Scanning the room, I found a DJ had set up in the corner.

  When did he get here?

“Hi!” A leggy blonde tapped me on the shoulder. “I’m Beth.”

“Candy,” I said shaking her hand. “Are you a friend of Janette’s?”

Beth laughed. “More like a friend of James.” She swung her hair over her shoulder.

  Great. Whore Barbie.

“I see,” I said with a forced smile. “Well, make yourself comfortable.” I nodded, hoping that she didn’t sense my annoyance.

Needing a drink, I nearly fled to the bar.

“What’ll it be, Ms. Kavana?” The bartender was hot. She was decently tanned, wearing a white bikini.

“I’m afraid I’m at a disadvantage. You seem to know my name, but I don’t know yours.”

She smiled, tilting her head to the side. “How sweet. I’m Mindy.”

“Mindy, I’d love an espresso martini. Can you make one of those?” I leaned in, hopeful.

“Of course, John insisted we be ready to make those for you, should you ask.” She spun around on her heel, grabbing a small teapot, that was apparently full of brewed espresso and began mixing my martini.

“Do you want your glass rimmed?” she asked winking.

“No rim jobs for me, thanks.” I teased her back. Dear Lord, I’m flirting with the bartender.

“You must be Candy,” a male voice came from behind.

When I turned, I fought not to gape like a goofy teenager.

  “I am. You are?”

Before me stood a man about six feet tall, with a tribal tattoo down one side of his body. He was totally built, with short brown hair. Wearing only shorts, little was left to the imagination.

“I’m Chaz. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” He held out his hand, taking mine in his very delicately.

“So what do you do, Chaz?” I sipped at my cocktail, allowing him the silence to answer.

“I’m an MMA fighter and personal trainer. I’ve been working with James for about three months now.” He turned to the bartender, ordering a Jack and Coke.

“There you are,” James said approaching. “I see you found the guest of honor.”

James and Chaz gave each other the man hug, the hug that is one shoulder to another with a pat.

“So this is how you lost all that weight for our trip.” I winked at him.

James chuckled. “Yeah, Chaz kicks my ass three days a week now, instead of five. How are you, Candy?”

“I’m really good. My product launch went well, so this weekend is about R&R before I start packing to move in here.”

James looked around, “John does really great work.”

“Yes he does. I’m totally blown away by this place. I can’t believe I get to live here.” It was true. John had put so many touches in the house that were just for me it seemed surreal.

After mingling for a bit, and more arrivals of folks I didn’t yet know, I perused the buffet table. John spared no expense and the caterers had done a phenomenal job. The food was beautiful and nothing heavy was on the table.

John had made his way to my side after dinner. “So, what do you think?” he asked.

“I was surprised, but it’s great. Thank you.” I leaned my head against his chest.

“John, you have to stop hogging Candy,” Janette teased
. “I haven’t even gotten a chance to talk to her.”

Fucking Janette! Could your timing be worse? I loved Janette, but she had been getting on my nerves the last few times we had been around each other. I don’t know if it was her bossiness or her general alpha mentality, but it was wearing thin on me. She had a good heart, and she was my friend. All I could do was be as polite to her as she was to me.

“Let’s go get a drink and catch up.” I looped my arm in hers and led her to the bar.

“How are you, dear?” She gave me her best award-winning smile.

  “Really good. How about you?”

She sighed. “This trial is still going on. It’s been tough on me. I haven’t slept much or had any fun since we got back from vacation. I was so happy to get John’s invitation, I just had to come, sleep or not.” She patted my arm. “I think it may be time to retire. It’s just sucking the life out of me. No one can stand to be around me anymore.”

I bit my lip. Poor Janette. It was easy to forget what her daytime life was like. No wonder she was wearing on my nerves…she wasn’t as graceful as usual. The last thing she needed was my irritation. I made mental note of it and decided to be more patient.

She ordered a dirty martini, then turned her attention back to me. “So how are you doing with the whole moving in idea? Is it getting any easier for you?”

Feeling like an ass for getting annoyed, I tried to smile to disguise my guilt. “It’s much better. I’m starting to look forward to it, actually. John’s little housewarming party was a nice touch.”

Janette sipped at her martini, “You have no idea how nervous he’s been. He has talked to James three times a day for a week now.”

  “Nervous? John?” I snickered.

“Like he was in the lion’s den. But he looks way more relaxed today. He was so worried about pleasing you, I thought the guy was going to have an anxiety attack.”

  “Aw, that’s pitiful.”

Janette giggled. “Yes it is. That man is head over heels, and your reluctance has been eating him alive. I pity the boy. He can fuck like a champ but he wears his heart on his sleeve.”

Fuck like a champ? Yes, yes he does.

“Come on, let’s go mingle.” I nodded away from the bar.

I walked around, introducing myself. There were nearly twenty people at our party, not including the staff. John had turned on a waterfall into the pool that I had not noticed before. Two girls were already naked in the pool, fooling around.

  “Shots!” James hollered over everyone.

“Oh shit, not again!” I yelled.

Several laughs could be heard around the room.

James already had the entire bar lined up with shots.

“Don’t be hard on him,” John whispered in my ear, coming up from behind me. “I begged him for help making this an actual party.” He kissed my ear, sending shivers through me.

“Okay, but I’m not getting trashed. I plan on showing you my appreciation later.” I looked over my shoulder at him and winked.

Everyone lined up at the bar and chose their shot. When James counted to three everyone tossed back their beverage. There were some whoops and whistles, then everyone resumed partying.

I made my way by the DJ where several people were dancing. Clothes were starting to fall to the floor. It was turning out to be quite the party.

  Chapter 9

It wasn’t long until everyone was either in the hot tub or the swing room.

“Beth likes you,” James said, nudging me.

“Yeah, I don’t know, James. I’m not into the ditzy kind.” I bit my lip, hoping I didn’t sound arrogant. “I’m not usually judgmental but…”

James snickered. “It’s just an act. She’s very intelligent. It’s sort of like an escape for her to dress up and be the ditzy blond. Just give her a chance. She’s got a hot body and she really knows how to use it.”

Eyeing James I shrugged. “I don’t really want her to talk anyway, do I?” Teasing, I kicked off my shoes and hopped on the bed.

John sat off to the side, watching the action. I walked to him and kneeled between his feet, leaning in to kiss him.

  “Like the show?” I asked.

“Very much, how about you?” His eyes, ablaze with lust, burned through me.

I nodded and pulled his shorts below his erection, teasing the tip with my index finger.

“Go, play. I’ll make sure there is plenty of me left for you for later.” He lifted my chin and kissed me on the lips.

Fighting a pout, I rose to my feet. Why didn’t John want me? Well, if he wanted me to play with others, I was going to do just that. Amazing how rejection brings out my maturity.

Spinning on my heel, I found Beth slowly walking around the enormous bed as if she were seeking the right spot to join in.

Making sure not to stomp due to my frustration with John, I slid my heels back on and made a direct move toward Beth, ignoring the other partygoers.

“Hi,” she gave me her biggest smile.

“I’m not here to talk.” I grabbed her by the back of her hair and planted a kiss on her lips. She tasted like strawberry and tequila.

Beth winced when I pulled back on her hair to tilt her head back, then sighed as I placed gentle kisses down her neck to her collarbone. By the time I shoved her on the bed, she was panting.

I wasted no time losing my shoes and mounting her like a prize. With one hand I pinned her hands above her head, overlapping her wrists, and used the other to free her breasts from the pink frilly bustier that had entrapped them.

Once her luscious mounds were free I ran my hand up her ribcage and cupped her left breast in my hand before firmly planting my lips on the pink erect tip. Her hips began grinding under me, begging for pleasure.

I could hear her moans above the sex noises surrounding us. After freeing her hands from my grip, she pulled at the top of my nighty, trying to take it off of me. I shrugged her hands off my shoulders and eased off of her quickly, taking her panties with me as I sat up. Her eyes widened at the unexpected bareness.

I pulled hard under her knees and dove into her. At first her legs slammed shut around my head, unready for the roughness of my oral pleasure. I felt merciless, and for some reason, wanted to take it out on her.

Soft hands caressed my bottom and I paused my assault between Beth’s legs to grab a glance at Mindy, the bartender. I smiled at her, giving her all the invitation she needed to join in, before returning to Beth.

Mindy slid my nighty over my head and gently took off my panties before sliding under me. Her soft wet tongue was more gentle than mine on Beth. I started to feel guilty for the force and eased up on Beth.

“Nooo, more,” she begged as she pulled on the back of my head.

Beth likes it rough! I stifled a giggle at my inner monologue and continued to assault her as I had before, tonguing and fingering her with as much ferocity as I could muster. She moistened around my fingers before letting out a screech.

I left Beth twitching below me and turned over so I could watch Mindy work. I propped myself up on my elbows as she settled in between my legs, her hands caressing as she devoured me.

I closed my eyes and slid my arms down to relax and enjoy Mindy’s talent. She knew her way around a woman’s body, bringing me to the brink of climax several times before finishing me off. Hmm, rejection isn’t so bad. Had John kept me to himself, I wouldn’t have experienced that. The pouting had been ridiculous. I laughed at myself.

“Whew, I need a drink,” I said huffing. “Then I can return the favor.” I gave her an affirmative wink.

“No need, I’ve climaxed half a dozen times already.” She giggled and offered me a hand getting off of the massive bed.

  “You’ve been busy!” I snickered.

“C’mon, I’ll mix you something special.”

I didn’t bother with re-dressing as I followed her to the bar. By this time, everyone else was already naked. I caught a glimpse of John grabbing a blowjob from
a woman I hadn’t met yet near the hot tub and pretended not to notice.

Mindy mixed up a martini and slid it over to me. It wasn’t bad, so I thanked her and tossed a towel over a barstool and perched myself on top, spinning around to take in the sights.

  Chapter 10

“That was quite a show.” An elbow gently prodded my naked rib. I looked over to spot the MMA guy standing next to me.

  “Chaz, right?”

  He nodded and grinned.

“Well Chaz, I’m glad you liked the show.” My heart raced a little, which I found a bit disturbing. I was in love with John. Another man shouldn’t be giving me butterflies.

“I’ll be back. Don’t run off. Okay?” He winked and walked away.

I watched as the muscles in his ass rippled as he walked.

“I saw you flush,” Mindy whispered in my ear. “Don’t worry, that dude wears pheromones or something. It happened to me and I don’t even like men.”

I snickered. “Like he needs it. I was wondering why I got butterflies. I am totally in love with my boyfriend…it made me feel guilty for a minute.”

“Like I said, when he stood close, I got them too. And I do not like dick unless it’s strapped onto a woman. Enjoy!” She walked away from the bar and jumped into the pool, apparently needing to cool off.

“Your espresso martini, ma’am.” A male bartender slid a drink over to me. “I’ll take that if you don’t want it.” He pointed to the drink Mindy had made.

“Thank you. It is good, but it’s just not what I want.” I slid the glass to him. “Are you having a good time?”

He gave me a nod I didn’t understand and went to wait on another guest.

Miraculously a pack of my smokes and a lighter appeared from behind me. Chaz, the MMA hottie was standing behind me, blowing out a puff of smoke.

“Now that I didn’t expect. You’re the picture of fitness, smoking a cigarette?” I slid one out of the pack and lit it, exhaling and closing my eyes for a moment.

“I allow myself one night a month and less than one pack. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll feel it on my run tomorrow, but it’s my last vice and I can’t quite give it up.” He stared at the burning cherry for a moment.
