“I swear to God, we should just kill him in his sleep.” I burst into laughter when Micah, that big piece of man meat, walks up.
“What did I miss?” he asks as he grabs Aubrie and pulls her into a hug before leaning over, and pressing a kiss to my cheek.
God, I want one of those men. The caring, attentive kind, that is overly nice to my friends. Hector’s a douchebag that would try to fuck anyone I brought over and he isn’t even my boyfriend. Dirty fucker just thinks he has a claim to me.
“We’re going to kill Hector in his sleep,” I tell him wiggling my eyebrows. Micah’s face hardens.
“That offer is always on the table, Laura. It wasn’t a joke.” His face is serious, just like the man himself.
The last time I saw Micah, Hector had gotten pissed at me and busted my lip. I gave as good as I got but when Micah saw it, he lost his mind.
“Calm down, caveman. I snuck out before he saw me.” Winking at him, his posture relaxes only slightly.
“You shouldn’t have to sneak out of your own goddamn house,” he grumbles. The little growl is sexy as hell on that man. Shit, I know why Aubrie is always in bed now.
“Can you find us some drinks?” Aubrie smiles up at him and he melts right into her.
“Lots of them.” I raise my hand, making them both laugh.
“You know he’d take care of him,” Aubrie reminds me. I know he would, but before I can answer her, I feel a warmth on my back. I don’t turn around though. Not when I see the crooked grin on Aubrie’s face. Then she says, “Get your dick away from my friend, Dax.” Oh, this must be the Dax that I’ve heard so much about.
I only turn slightly to see his shit eating grin. Cocky fucker. He is a good-looking fucker, though.
“Introduce me, Aubrie.” He’s making some kind of weird hand gesture that has Aubrie choking on a laugh. I can’t say that I blame her. He looks like a complete dumbass. A fine dumbass, though.
“Dax, this is Laura. Laura, this is Dax, the man slut that thinks he’s entitled to everything that has a pussy,” Aubrie says with a straight face. I explode into laughter, but Dax just grins like it’s the truth.
“Entitled is such a strong word, now isn’t it? Besides, when it’s freely thrown at me, who am I not to accept?” he says. Yep, he’s a cocky son of a bitch.
“Well, she isn’t offering.” Aubrie laughs as she walks away, leaving me with this mountain of sexy.
That is one mountain I wouldn’t mind climbing.
Chapter 7
Dax
Not only is she curvy and sexy as hell, when she looks up at me with those sky-blue eyes, the air is sucked from my lungs. I’ve never seen eyes like that. It’s such a contrast to her caramel colored skin.
“Nice to meet you, Laura. Like she said, I’m Dax.” I extend my hand, expecting her to ignore it, but when she takes it in hers, I almost cum in my jeans.
“Nice to meet you, too. I heard you won a pretty big fight?” she says. Look at her batting those pretty blue eyes at me. Fuck, she’s making me hard.
“I did. Not that it’s unusual.” Her smile fades when she raises her eyebrows.
“Conceited much?” she asks. Shaking my head, I don’t smile or anything. I know I’m fucking good, always have been.
“No. I just know what I can do with my body. I also know what I’d like to do with yours,” I tell her. Looking her up and down again, she laughs. Goddamn, she is beautiful when she smiles.
“You keep your snake wrangled, honey. I’m not interested.” Sure she isn’t.
“Is that why you keep checkin’ out the size of the snake?” I ask. Her eyes jerk to mine. Yeah, I caught her looking. Not that I mind, I know what I’m packing in these jeans.
“Barbados thread snake,” she says. My eyes widen but she keeps her eyes narrowed in on me.
“Oh, come on, sweetheart. You can see that it isn’t no four inches,” I inform her. She looks at me surprised that I’d even know that. I’m not a complete dumbass.
“Looks can be deceiving,” she responds quickly. Batting her eyes once more, I swear to God, I want to bend her curvy ass over a table.
“You’re right. Looks can be… but the feel, that’s all it takes to shut down any indecision,” I offer her. She licks her full lips before pressing the palm of her hand to my chest. My heart thumps wildly before she slides it lower.
Gripping my rock, fucking hard dick, in her little hand, she strokes it slowly. I groan just from the feel of her hands on me even through my damn jeans.
Laura quickly removes her hand and shrugs.
“It doesn’t seem too impressive,” she says with a shrug. A slow smile tugs across my face. I step into her space, mere inches from those lips I want to taste.
“Really? Those little pebbles peekin’ through that little dress say otherwise, and I’m pretty sure if I was to fifty shades of grey you right now, and slide my fingers up your thighs, you’d be wet.” She sucks in a breath but this girl is stubborn. I fucking love it.
“Well, that’s where you’d be wrong. We aren’t in an elevator and you sure as hell aren’t Christian,” she smarts off. She doesn’t move, but I do.
I raise my hand, resting one on her hip, before pulling her into my dick.
With the other hand, I reach up and tweak her hardened nipple. A little groan escapes her lips before I lean in closer.
“I’ll put a hundred that you’re climbin’ my dick by the end of the night.”
Chapter 8
Laura
He’s so goddamn close to me, I can smell his manly cologne. It assaults my nose and makes my pussy throb with a need I’ve never felt before. I don’t typically act out like this, but after Hector? I can’t help it. I want to feel something, anything.
Arrogant asshole. He thinks he’s won just because he can make me wet? He’s lost his mind. Dr. McHotStuff at work can do the same thing with the bat of his lashes.
“I’ll take that bet. If I’m the one that initiates it. If it’s the other way around, you pay up biker boy,” I say. His eyes flick to my lips before slowly coming back up.
“You got a deal, sweet cheeks. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get on the stage,” he says. He releases me and I almost hate to admit that I miss that heat that was pouring off him.
Glancing to my left, I see we have an audience. A few of the other guys grin at me and so do the girls. They all look like sluts, which they probably are.
“Don’t let him get to you. He thinks he’s God’s ultimate gift to women.” The guy standing next to me holds out a beer. I look at it and then back to him. I’m not that damn naive. I will not take an open drink from anyone! Learned that lesson the hard way a long time ago.
“Smart girl. Here, take mine. I didn’t do anything to it though. I’m Link,” he says. I remember Aubrie telling me about him. The computer genius.
“I’m Laura. Sorry, didn’t mean to be a bitch,” I say. Shaking his head, he takes a long pull from his bottle before looking back at me.
“It’s a smart move on your part. You work with Aubrie, right?” he asks. Nodding my head, he does the same.
“So, you’re a nurse too?”
“Yep. It’s the best job in the world.” Link smiles and while he isn’t as sexy as some of the others, he is damn good looking.
We stand in an awkward silence before I hear the strumming of a guitar. The whole yard goes silent as all eyes fall to the small stage they have set up.
It’s not until I hear that voice, that I turn around and look.
“I wake up in the morning
And I raise my weary head
I've got an old coat for a pillow
And the earth was last night’s bed
I don't know where I'm going
Only God knows where I've been
I'm a devil on the run
A six-gun lover
A candle in the wind.”
Holy mother of all sexy things, that man can sing.
My mouth gapes open
as Dax pours his heart into the words that flow from his lips.
I’m intoxicated by his voice.
“He’s good, huh?” Link leans closer, talking in my ear as I nod.
He’s beyond good.
I watch him as the crowd screams his name. I thought he was a fighter, not a damn singer.
His eyes fall on mine and with a wink, I know the game is on.
Chapter 9
Dax
Holly sits in my lap after I played the fuck out of my guitar up there.
Singing and playing are as much of an outlet as fighting for me. It always has been.
I strum the guitar with my arms wrapped around Holly’s body so I can reach it.
“You’re really a good singer, Dax. You should play some gigs,” she says. Chuckling against her back, no way in hell.
“It’s not like that, darlin’. I just enjoy it sometimes.” Holly wiggles her ass a little, thinking she’s making my dick hard as rock. I know that’s what she’s trying to do.
The guys have a DJ playing now and everyone is dancing and laughing. This is the shit I live for. The good times that we have.
I keep strumming until I see her out in the sea of people. You couldn’t miss that body if you tried.
She’s grinding against Link, of all people. His hands are wrapped around her hips while her ass is pressed too damn close to his dick.
I’m hypnotized by the way she moves that little body of hers.
I know Holly thinks it’s her ass that’s making me hard, but she is dead wrong.
Aubrie smiles at her friend before they both laugh. It’s not until they both look at me that I realize I’m staring at her.
“Move,” I snap. Setting my guitar next to me, I shove Holly off my lap.
“Are we heading inside?” she purrs before licking her lips, she wouldn’t be able to fulfill what I had in mind after the way Laura has moved her hips.
“Nope.” I ignore her pleas as I stalk toward my prey. I don’t give a shit if I have to up the hundred dollars or not, I want that girl on my dick, doing that!
I shove Link over and out of the way. He laughs and leaves the dance area without a word. Laura hasn’t even turned around so I use that to my advantage.
She pops those hips and her sweet ass bounces in my face. God, I’m a fucking dead man.
I grab her hips roughly, jerking her back against my raging dick.
She jolts slightly, but quickly regains herself.
Her hands come to rest on mine where they continue to squeeze her painfully.
“Didn’t know you could dance, too.” She smirks at me over her shoulder.
“There is a lot that I can do if you just give in.” Jerking her harder against my dick, I don’t miss that groan even through all the noise.
Chapter 10
Laura
This man is like sex on a stick. I want to turn around and eat the hell out of him, but I won’t give him the satisfaction.
My phone is going insane in my wristlet, but I can’t think straight enough to pull it out and answer when he’s on me like this. He feels too damn good touching me.
“You gonna let that ring all night? It’s annoyin’,” his voice grumbles in my ear but it’s the heat of his breath that kicks my ass.
“I’m a little busy right now,” I say. Grinding against him, he groans before nipping my earlobe.
“You’re not gonna be if that goddamn thing doesn’t stop,” he growls. His hips stop moving and his hands ease their grip. I want to yell at him but instead, I slide my phone out of my wristlet and answer it.
“What?” I snap. I know who it is. I don’t want to deal with him right now either.
“Where the fuck are you?” He’s pissed. Oh, well.
“Out. What do you want, I’m busy?” The growl that rips through the phone has me pulling it away from my ear.
“You sneaky little, puta! Where are you?” His words slam into me harder than they should. He’s a fucking asshole that only cares about what he can get from me.
I’m about to respond when the phone is ripped out of my hand.
“She’s busy, motherfucker. Scream at her like that again, and I’ll rip your goddamn throat out,” Dax roars into the phone. Pushing the end button, Dax smiles and passes the phone back to me.
“I don’t think your boyfriend will bug us again,” he says winking at me, I stand in shock. I can feel the tears prickle my eyes but I won’t let them see me cry over that no-good asshole.
I slide my phone back in my wristlet, but Dax just stands there watching me.
“Hey, it’s ok. I didn’t mean shit by it.” Shaking my head, he doesn’t understand Hector. That’s going to be one ass-beating I won’t be able to fight back on.
“He isn’t my boyfriend. Not really,” I say. Dax looks confused.
“Not really?” He crosses his massive arms over his chest. His eyes burn into me and for a moment, I’m lost in him. I want to tell him every single thing Hector has done, but that’s stupid. He doesn’t care what Hector’s done.
“It’s kind of a living arrangement that we have. He doesn’t leave. He won’t leave,” I tell him being honest. Dax’s brows furrow.
He reaches for my arm when I wince. I didn’t mean to, and normally I don’t.
Dax’s eyes dance with anger when he yanks my sleeve up and examines the angry purple bruise.
“Is that what the non-boyfriend did to you?” he growls. I can’t look at him. I won’t let him see me break down.
“I think that goes a little over the hundred-dollar line.” I have to walk away from him. This is getting way to personal for me.
Chapter 11
Dax
I watch her ass as she walks away from me and quickly over to Aubrie. I don’t like knowing that some asshole put his hands on her. Not just her, any woman. No man should fucking handle a woman like that. They are precious and delicate creatures, that need to be handled with care. As shitty as I am about fucking random pussy, I would never lay a hand on them physically.
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Stryker asks as he rests his hand on my shoulder following my gaze.
“Ah, women troubles.” I cock my head to the side to look at him but I have no words.
“She’s a hot one,” he says. Why is he still standing here?
I grit my teeth before I say, “You won’t be touchin’ it so don’t worry.” Stryker chuckles before I walk away from him. He thinks I’m joking and I sure as hell am not. I’m about to show that sexy woman what a real man is like.
I stalk toward her, but Aubrie’s eyes stop me in my tracks. Is she crying too? What the hell is this little fucker doing to them?
Instead of going to them, I glance around until I find Micah standing by the keg. I head toward him instead, wanting to get his view on this shit.
“Hey, Micah. What do you know about this boyfriend that’s not her boyfriend?” I ask. Nodding toward Laura, he sighs. He knows all about it and he’s about to spill it all or I’ll kick his ass.
He looks like he doesn’t want to open his mouth, but when he catches a glimpse of my hands clenching at my sides, he starts to talk.
“He’s not her boyfriend. He used to be. He’s into a lot of shit from what I know about him. Hell, he’s into the underground fights like you. Never saw the motherfucker, but from what I hear, he’s a real bastard. Lives in her house that her mom left her, won’t leave. He basically takes what he wants from her,” he says before he brings his cup to his lips, taking down its contents.
“He hit her?” I ask. That’s not really a question as much as a statement. I heard the bastard on the phone, I know what he is.
“That’s what I hear. Aub’s doesn’t like tellin’ me a whole lot about her. She knows I’ll kill the fucker if asked. Laura is a sweet girl with a mouth from the devil himself but she doesn’t deserve what she’s gettin’.” If Micah knows about it, then it’s true. Now I want nothing more than to wring that motherfucker’s neck.
<
br /> “I think I just made shit worse, brother.” Micah cocks his head, waiting for me to finish.
“How?”
“Took her phone when that little prick called yellin’ at her. Told him she was busy and that I’d rip his goddamn throat out.” Micah lets out a low whistle before slapping a hand on my shoulder.
“You might just be rippin’ his throat out then. I’m pretty sure he won’t let that one slide.”
Chapter 12
Laura
“I hate him, Aubrie. I don’t know what to do...” I won’t cry, I keep telling myself that I won’t do it, not here, and not in front of all these people. Aubrie’s eyes are full of tears for me and I don’t want that from her either.
I grab a cup and fill it up at one of the ten kegs that are strung out around here.
Tossing it back, I might as well get drunk off my ass.
“You’re staying here. You’re not going back there, Laura.” My sweet Aubrie. God, I’d be lost without her.
“It’s my house! Mi Madre’s house! I won’t let him have it,” I protest. Shaking my head, I won’t. My mom worked too hard to keep that house in our family and when she died it came to me. There is no way in hell that I will let Hector take that part of my life away from me too.
“She’s right. You aren’t leavin’ here, at least not tonight.” That rough, sexy voice sends a chill down my spine. I close my eyes before plastering a smile across my face.
“Oh, I believe I will be after I collect my money,” I tell him. Raising my eyebrows at him, he grins at me.
“We haven’t even finished the bet, sweetheart. Which is why you won’t be leavin’ tonight.” He runs his tongue over his bottom lip. Heat pools between my thighs and I swear the way Dax is looking at me, he can tell. Those smoldering eyes are a force to be reckoned with.
“You are mighty bossy, don’t you think? I’m not some cheap whore that spends the night with a random man,” I say. Rolling my eyes, Aubrie giggles next to me drawing his attention.
“Laugh it up, darlin’. You will be seein’ your girl doin’ the old college walk of pride out of here tomorrow mornin’,” he tells Aubrie. Did he just say walk of pride?
