Her Bodyguard Page 3

His hand was gone, and even though it was dark, she saw him lick his fingers, tasting her.

He switched on a light, and she saw the curtains were already drawn, giving them both some privacy.

“And I want you naked. Strip.”

  Chapter Four

Lucas wanted her to forget about her fears and to only focus on the here and now. She didn’t need to worry about her safety. She had him, and now he had her.

Removing his jacket and his guns, he stared at her, adjusting his cuffs.

Her hands were fisted at her sides.

“I’ve already taken your panties from you.”

The red fabric lay at the floor near her feet.

“You’re my woman, Kate. I’m the first man that claimed you, and I’ll be the last man inside you.”

  He folded his arms, waiting.

Seconds passed, and she finally began to unbutton her shirt. The black shirt looked sexy especially as she revealed her matching red bra beneath.

He’d noticed many months ago that she loved sexy lingerie. They were her one weakness, and he didn’t have a problem with that.

She had to get used to him tearing them from her body though. He didn’t like anything getting in his way, especially panties.

His cock hardened as the shirt fell to the floor. She didn’t immediately go for the bra. Her fingers played with the band around her waist, and the skirt dropped to the floor, showcasing her rounded stomach and thick thighs.

He’d not had those thighs wrapped around his waist enough, and he wanted them again.

She reached behind her, unsnapping the catch of her bra.

His woman stood before him completely naked, and she looked breathtaking. He saw the real Kate that no one got to see. She never hid from him. Her smiles were his and his alone.

He lowered himself down into one of the seats directly in front of the bare coffee table.

He liked wooden tables as he always felt the glass ones were way too dangerous. “I want you to lie on this table, and spread your thighs for me.”

  “Lucas?”

“Trust me, Kate. I’ll never hurt you, and I certainly won’t bring any harm to you.”

She nodded, and stepped forward. He watched her glorious tits bounce with every single step she took, and just the sight of her made him want to put her down on the bed and fuck her hard.

  He didn’t though.

She sat down on the table and lay back a little awkwardly, her thighs still very close together.

Leaning forward, he captured her knees—he was that close.

He stared into her eyes, as she’d risen up on her elbows, and she didn’t fight him as he began to spread her legs. He didn’t look down at her until he was sure she was ready for that.

With her legs open, her tits rising and falling, and the glaze of desire in her eyes, Lucas looked his fill of her body.

Her stomach quivered, and he sat back in his chair, admiring her.

The lips of her pussy were soaked with her cream, and he liked her response to him, always aroused.

He intended to keep it that way.

  “Touch your pussy.”

  “What?”

“I want you to touch your pussy. I want you to pleasure yourself as I’m watching you.”

Resting his head on his hand, he waited. One of her hands moved down, teasing through her fine hair before sliding through her slit.

The lips of her pussy opened, and he caught a glimpse of her clit. She stroked her pussy, touching herself, learning her body, and he relished every second of it.

“How does it feel?” he asked.

  “A little strange.”

“Know what your body likes, Kate. Touch your clit, stroke it, move down, fill your pussy with a finger.” She did as he asked, and he groaned this time.

Unable to resist joining in, he eased his cock out of the tight confines of the pants he wore. His tip was already glistening with pre-cum. Rubbing his cock, getting it slick with his own lubrication, he watched her explore her pussy. Her touch started out unsure, and finally changed, getting more confident as she learned for herself what she liked.

He didn’t want his woman to ever be without the means of touching herself. He wanted to hear her cry out, stroking her pussy when he demanded, giving herself pleasure.

“You look so fucking sexy. Does it feel good, baby?” he asked.

  “Yes.”

“I want you to come, Kate. I want you to come while I watch you.”

He worked his cock from the root down then up, pulling back his foreskin as more pre-cum leaked out.

He was watching her. Kate had lifted her feet so that they were on the edge of the table, and it opened her up. He got to see the perfect puckered anus, the tight cunt, and her arousal had plumped up her lips, leaving them a little open. His mouth watered for a taste of her juicy flesh, but he held back.

He wanted her to be able to do this for herself, and of course, he just loved to fucking watch.

He wished he had a camera on her so that he could keep going back and watching the beauty of her.

“Lucas,” she said, her voice a moan as her orgasm started. He watched her cunt pulsing as she came, crying out his name. She rode her fingers against her clit, desperate for more.

She shook with it, and seeing her arousal spurred on his own. Moving between her thighs, he spilled his orgasm across her stomach and pussy.

When they both came down from their release, Kate ran a finger through his cum. He watched as she placed it against her tongue and smiled.

“You don’t taste so bad either.”

His woman was messing with fire, and she needed to be careful that she didn’t get burned.

  ****

After a nice long bath, Kate lay on her stomach, leaning over the bed as she picked up a different carton of Chinese food. Lucas had ordered for it to be delivered for a certain time, and whoever he called got it exactly right.

She loved food, all the time.

Her managers and agents … didn’t like that. Chinese food, fried food, most of it was off the menu unless she made a point of going out in public. Then they tried to control everything for image’s sake. She hated that.

This was her first night in seven years when she wasn’t in their company. When they weren’t telling her repeatedly what she’d done right, what she’d gotten wrong, and everything in between.

“I love that smile on your lips. Tell me what you’re thinking about,” Lucas said with a smile of his own.

  “It’s silly.”

  “Tell me.”

“I love Chinese food, and I was just thinking that this is the first night in seven years I’ve been able to enjoy it. No one would order it in for me, so I had to forgo the pleasure.”

“No one would give you Chinese food?” he asked.

“Nope. They already had an issue with my clothes size, so I tried not to push my luck unless my cravings for something naughty came.” She shrugged. “I’m loving this newfound freedom.”

“You’ve never been alone really? Have you?”

“Unless I’m going to bed. Otherwise they’re going over songs, talking about contracts, public appearances, what I should wear. I’ve even got someone who dresses me. They got tired of me always in jeans and a shirt.” She shrugged. “I’m just a regular girl, you know. Most of the time it makes me uncomfortable going shopping. I don’t need a pair of jeans that cost thousands of dollars.”

“I thought you were going to be a spoiled brat when I first got the call.”

Her mouth dropped open. “Are you serious?”

“A lot of the time in my experience, people are not who they seem. They act, they put on a front of what people like to see, but that doesn’t mean it’s real. You came from nowhere, and most of your singles have gone to number one. You’re a darling, and I guess I thought it was all a fake. Within a week, I saw that for the first time ever I’d been completely wrong about you.”

  “Yeah,
I should think so as well.” She winked at him. “I’ve met some stars that are all smiles for the cameras, kissing their fans, and then they’re completely different behind closed doors. I’ve always been told to keep up the façade. If anyone asks about someone, I’m to comment they’re totally darling and amazing.” She batted her eyelashes, smiling as she spoke. “Most of the time I just keep to myself. It’s not worth the hassle.”

  He nodded.

  “You were expecting a bitch?”

“Yep. I took the case because I found it interesting. You’re a well-known name, and of course you’re known for being nice. I watched the footage, and I can’t see anyone there that would hurt you.”

At the mention of the footage, which she’d seen many times herself, she grew aware of the scar on her stomach. She didn’t touch it though. She knew it was there, waiting for her. The police had asked her if there had been any faces that stood out, and there hadn’t been. There had been a lot of people wearing hoodies, covering their heads and faces as well.

“The I met you in the hospital, and I realized that someone had to care for this woman, and not for the next story either.”

She swallowed her mouthful of noodles. “I was so scared. I don’t ever recall being so afraid in my life. I think at times it’s worse because I don’t know what I’ve done.”

“You’ve done nothing wrong. I’ve looked into your past and everyone around you. You’re loved, Kate.”

  “Someone doesn’t.”

“Let me handle the detective work, okay?”

She took a deep breath. “You were in the army, right?”

  “I was a Marine.”

  “That’s a big deal, right?”

“Yes, it is. When my time was done, I set up my security firm. We employ ex-soldiers, Marines, people who served our country, and who I can rely on to protect others.”

She glanced down at his chest, seeing several scars. She’d also noticed on his back, mixed with his ink, were several scars that looked like they came from whips. Her curiosity was always getting the better of her, and she nibbled her lip, wanting to ask more than anything where they came from.

He touched his chest. “They came from a routine mission that went sour. Most of my team got out. Myself and a few men got taken. It wasn’t pretty.”

  “They hurt you?”

“For the twenty-four hours that I was held against my will, they made sure they didn’t lose a second in making me realize for the meantime I was their bitch.” He grabbed her hand. “You don’t have to look sad. I made it out alive. My partner, he wasn’t so lucky. They made an example of him, killing him slowly, making me watch, and then stringing him up.”

  “I’m so sorry.”

“My past is not a good one, Kate. When I got rescued, I vowed to find every single fucker that tortured my friend. I found them, one by one, and I took care of business.”

  She breathed in. “Oh.”

“I’m not going to tell you every single story for every single scar. There’s too many to count. I’m a good man, Kate. I will protect you no matter what.”

“I have no doubt.” She reached out and stole one of his shrimp. He did the same with her noodles, making her giggle as he dropped them down his chin.

She was having a lot of fun.

The only problem was at the back of her mind, she was thinking about love. He’d protect her, but what about love? Could he love her?

  Chapter Five

Away from the cameras, her crew, and the spotlight, Lucas finally got to see the real Kate Swanson, and she was a beauty. They’d gone shopping. She wore a hat to cover her raven hair, and dark glasses, and she was wearing one of his old shirts and baggy pants. He’d expected her to go to one of the expensive boutiques, but she’d pulled him into a thrift shop. He watched as she found a pair of jeans and an old checkered shirt that reminded him of lumberjacks for some reason, but on Kate, she looked herself.

She made him take her for long walks in the local parks, where she got a chance to look at the wildlife, and just enjoy the freedom of not being seen. Most of the time she wore hats and glasses. Without her entourage, though, no one recognized her.

Lucas knew she was loving the time away from being the Kate Swanson. It made him wonder if she realized that taking the microphone seven years ago would change her life the way it did.

Kate asked for him to take her on a picnic, and late one Saturday afternoon, he laid a blanket out on the park, allowing her to take a seat.

“This is just perfect,” she said.

He opened up the basket and pulled out the sandwiches, the pasta salad, the potato one for himself, and several delicious treats.

Lucas had gotten a call from her manager, saying that they’d only gotten her time for one month. A week of that was already gone.

“Have you ever gone on a picnic before?”

She shook her head. “Mom and Dad were always working. I didn’t want to go by myself, so it never really happened. What about you?”

“I’ve been on a couple of picnics. Usually I’m the one standing to the side, watching the family enjoy their special day out.”

“Oh, it was part of a job?”

  “It certainly was.”

He watched as she took a bite of a sandwich. “Do you love your job?”

“Do you love yours?” he asked.

She paused, and he saw the heat fill her cheeks. “I asked you first.”

“You did. I love being able to protect people, and if it wasn’t for my job, I would never have gotten the pleasure of meeting you, and believe me, Kate, it’s a pleasure to know you.”

Kate leaned forward and gave him a kiss. He loved every second of being with her.

“Now it’s your turn to answer. Isn’t it every girl’s dream to be a superstar?”

She finished her sandwich, and he saw the frown on her face.

“I … loved to sing. I loved holding a brush in front of my mirror or in the shower, and just singing my heart out. There wasn’t anyone to really listen though. I didn’t join choirs or try to put myself into the limelight.” She shrugged. “I don’t even know what came into me that day. Everyone looked bored. So tired of the same old stuff. I guess I no longer wanted to be part of something that everyone was finding boring, so I stood up, grabbed the microphone, and began to sing. I never knew it would become this. Where I’d have to steal moments, hide who I am just to enjoy a picnic. I’m not ungrateful for what happened at all. I love my fans and singing. Some things, though, I’m not so fond of.”

  “Like what?”

“The magazines trashing my name, or putting some body shaming photo on the front. It’s not exactly comforting seeing your face with a cheeseburger filling it. Or some horrible diet tips. Being famous has its downfalls. Not to mention that someone wants to kill me. Did I tell you that?”

“You did, a little bit.” He held his fingers together.

She chuckled, and he was pleased that she still had the ability to find some humor.

Once their picnic was finished, he patted the space between his legs, and she climbed between them. Running his fingers through her hair, he stared out across the park.

  “I miss this,” she said.

  “What?”

“Being me. Not being told every single day what I’m doing wrong, or what I’m not doing right.” She leaned her head back, and he kissed her shoulder. “I sound like a bitch now, right?”

“No, you sound like someone who needed a break, and no one listened to you.”

“I feel like I can be myself with you, Lucas. I probably shouldn’t. I’ve been told many times that you were there to do a job and that I was spending too much time with you.”

“Fuck them, Kate. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.” He held his hands out, and she took them, turning her head. Her lips looked way too tempting. “You’re the one in charge of your life. No one else.” He claimed her lips, plunging his tongue into her mouth, relishing her little moan tha
t only he could hear. “Don’t let anyone take that from you.”

Staring into her eyes, he knew without a doubt that he would never stop loving her. He’d fallen for her all those months ago when she’d been lying in a hospital bed looking strong and vulnerable at the same time, when he’d realized she wasn’t a spoiled little brat, but in fact a beautiful woman who was terrified of what had happened.

She needed someone to lean on, to trust, and that had been him from the start. Over the past year, spending time with her, he’d fallen in love with her, and now that he’d claimed her virginity, he wasn’t going to let her go.

Whatever or whoever the threat was, he’d deal with it. There’s no way he could live in a world without Kate Swanson.

“What are you thinking?” she asked.

“That you’ve somehow turned my entire world upside down, and I don’t care. You’ve made me whole again, Kate, and I didn’t even realize that I’d fallen apart.” Kissing her again, he knew there was no out with this.

He loved Kate Swanson. Regardless if she felt the same, he would spend the rest of his life protecting her.

  ****

Kate stared at the screen in Lucas’s apartment, and the reality set in once again. She wasn’t her old self. She hadn’t somehow found a way to live her old life, the one that she’d given up for this. The news reporter sounded so sure of what she was talking about, the budding romance between Kate and the mysterious bodyguard.

She held the remote tightly in her hand as the footage from a year ago once again played. Staring at herself, she couldn’t believe how stupid she’d been. There was no concern for her life. She just got swallowed up by the crowd, and then she’d felt this wave of absolute pain in her side, and when she’d looked down, touching her stomach, her hands had been covered with blood.

Tears filled her eyes as once again she went down, and her team finally got to her.

“And this is where Lucas Evans came in. He’s the owner of Evans Security, and now it seems he’s got a lot more than security on his mind.”

Lucas moved up behind her, taking the remote, and switching off the television. He wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her against him. “You shouldn’t watch that.”
