He wrapped his arm around her waist and pounded into her. Reality blanked, and his being centered on the two points where they connected. Scalding desire and ravenous hunger flowed across their psychic link, his emotions blending with hers.

Then her body, tight and hot, pulled his pleasure from him with strong, relentless contractions. He yelled, driving deep as his seed burst from his balls and barreled down his shaft. She echoed each shudder as he clung to her back.

His surroundings gradually came back into focus, yet the sensations remained surreal. Nothing in reality could feel this good, this perfect. He rolled to his side, taking her with him, his cock still cocooned by her ass. “I didn’t hurt you, did I?”

  “Not even close.”

Her drowsy assurance sent a fresh wave of pleasure rolling through him. He hadn’t held back, he’d taken her with all the demand in his soul. And she’d loved it.

I didn’t love it, she corrected. I love you.

He chuckled, absently squeezing her breast. “I think I formed our link a little too well. You’re not supposed to be able to read my mind.”

“When you’re not so distracted, you pinch off the link and I can’t hear your thoughts anymore.”

“I see.” He just held her for a long time, savoring the closeness and tranquility. “Did you mean it? Do you love me?”

“More than I ever dreamed possible.”

Needing to see her face, he carefully separated their bodies and rolled her to her back. “It’s dangerous for me to care for you, but my heart won’t listen to my mind.”

She smiled. “Because this world is so incredibly uncertain, shouldn’t we find what happiness we can?”

“Perhaps. But I’m not willing to go along with it anymore. We have to make a stand.”

She sighed and lowered her gaze. “You said it yourself. There’s no fighting the Gathosians.”

“The Gathosians aren’t the enemy. We’re enslaved by the compound. If we can find a cure for our addiction, we can take on the Gathosians. Do you realize there are only sixteen of them here?”

  “What are you talking about?”

“They have an overseer stationed in each sector, but that’s all. This entire planet is being held hostage by sixteen aliens.”

Her gaze narrowed on his face. “What percentage of the Protectorate have you already recruited?”

“My network is not that large, but the vast majority will rebel if we can set them free from their addiction. Without the compound, the Gathosians are nothing.”

“Then what’s our next step?” She trailed her fingers across his tellimon. The pattern hadn’t even begun to fade because he wanted her again. He never seemed to stop wanting her.

“They have a chemist imprisoned in a secret lab. He knows more about the compound than any person on Earth. We have to rescue him. He’s our best, perhaps our only, hope.”

“And how are we going to do that? Do you have any idea where he is?”

“I don’t, but Ulrick Brant knows. Every complex on this planet falls under his jurisdiction.”

She grinned, blue eyes bright with anticipation. “And I’m going to find the perfect female to seduce the answers out of him.”

He leaned down and kissed her lips. “Think you can do it?”

“I know I can.” She wiggled back against the pillows, her smile downright wicked. “If we’re going to form a network of female spies, we need to figure out what to call it.”

“Some sort of codename?” He cupped her breast with one hand and circled her nipple with his tongue, quickly losing interest in any form of conversation.

“What’s another name for paid companion?” She pushed her fingers into his hair and arched against his mouth.

“Escort.” He paused to suckle then looked up and suggested, “Courtesan?”

“Codename Courtesan.” She grinned and nodded. “I like the sound of that.”
