Clarity (The Seductors #3.5) Page 6

by B. L. Wilde

“The Kirkhams sound like a great family to be part of,” I muttered, getting up. My father was getting tired; I could see it in his eyes.

“They are. Oh, congratulations on the wedding, Oliver. I hope you and your future wife have a long and happy life together.”

“She has to say yes first,” I snorted.

“She will. You’re a fine man. I can see that. Plus you’re a doctor.”

“Thank you. I’ll see you soon, Mr. Kirkham. Keep drinking your fluids.” He waved me off as if I were a stranger before going back to the book he was reading. It was one his better days today, even if his mind had taken him back to his early years. At least he wasn’t confused.

“How was he?” Jade asked when I got back to the mansion later that afternoon. She was in the kitchen making us a drink. After I’d visited my father, I’d been busy preparing for her surprise party that I was holding here at the mansion. It wasn’t easy keeping anything from her.

“He was less confused this time. I stayed to talk to the doctor about his deterioration once I was done visiting.”

  “What did the doctor say?”

“Much of the same. I know one day I’ll go and he will have forgotten me for good.” Jade walked toward me, wrapping her arms around my waist in comfort.

“You’ll still have your wonderful memories. Plus you know that I’ll be by your side every step of the way.”

“I know. You’ll always be my solace, Jade. I’m so thankful to have you in my life.” My words had never been truer.

“I can’t believe you’ve pulled this off without her having a clue,” Sam gasped, eating his cereal.

“She’ll find out if you keep opening your big mouth, you idiot,” Tom tutted, shaking his head. “Oliver has put too much effort into this without you ruining it for him.”

“She’s upstairs, Tom,” Sam pointed out.

“Come on boys, she’ll hear you arguing if you keep it up,” I cautioned. This bickering between them was becoming more and more common. I knew Claire was worried about them. Sam was still getting better grades than Tom, and it appeared to be straining their relationship. I was sure it was one of the reasons Tom had asked to work at Kirkham Industries. He was worried he wouldn't get the grades required to get a position somewhere else. He just needed to have more faith in himself.

“Can I bring a date?” Tom asked.

“You have a girlfriend?” Sam snorted. “Since when?”

“Leave him alone. You can both bring dates. That’s fine.” I interrupted the death glares they were giving each other.

“They can bring dates to what?” Jade asked, walking in and looking too desirable for her own good. I had to slap Sam on the back of the head gently when I caught him checking her out as she got juice from the fridge.

“A masked charity ball we’re all invited to in New York in a few months.” I had to think quickly.

“Oh, I love masked balls!” She grinned toward me before taking a seat at the breakfast table. “What do you boys have planned for today then?”

“Golf, mostly. Oliver promised us a round,” Sam beamed. I looked at her apologetically. I knew golf wasn’t her thing, but I had promised the boys the last time I was here.

“Well, then you boys have fun. I’ll go find Claire. I’m sure we can find something to do while you’re gone. Make sure you take Richard, too.”

“Good idea, Beautiful.” Leaning over the table, I pecked her lips before getting up to go find Richard in his study.

“No, I don’t care how long it takes. We need to be patient. This isn’t a game…” Richard stopped talking as soon as he noticed me by his study door. “We’ll finish this conversation later. Good bye.” Abruptly, he hung up. “What can I do for you, Oliver?”

“I wondered if you wanted to join me for a round of golf later. Sam and Tom are coming too.”

  “Yes, that sounds wonderful.”

“Who were you just talking to?”

  “A client. He’s going through a divorce, and he’s a little stressed.”

“That’s one service I know I’ll never need from you.”

“You’re still going through with this ridiculous proposal?” I’d told my uncle of my plans to ask Jade to marry me a few days ago. Knowing he’d be less than happy, I thought it would soften the blow if I told him early.

“Yes. I’ve never been more sure of anything.”

“It’s your life, Oliver. Who I am to stand in your way? You are a big boy now.” That was the problem with Richard; I could never tell if he was patronizing me or not. Either way, I didn’t care. I was going to ask Jade to marry me at her birthday party. I just needed to make it special enough for her to say yes.

I patted my jacket for the sixth time, checking to make sure that the ring was still there. It would be just my luck that I’d forget it. It had been a long month in New York waiting for this day. I only hoped all my preparations paid off.

“You really aren’t giving much away,” Jade mused as we approached my private jet. Duncan pulled up, getting out to open the door for us.

“This is the first birthday I’ve been able to spend with you. I want to make up for the others I’ve missed. Today is going to be full of surprises.”

“You gave me enough this morning,” she giggled. Worshipping her body was just a start. “Six orgasms before breakfast is a new record for me.”

“I love having you for breakfast,” I smoldered, cupping her sexy ass. “In fact, I might have more of you on the plane. ”

“Oliver Kirkham!” She hit my chest, squealing as I backed her up the stairs to the plane.

“It’s your birthday, Beautiful. Today is all about you.” Capturing her lips with mine, I darted my tongue in to meet hers. My cock began to stir again, but it would have to wait until we’d taken off, if not longer.

“You know I would have been perfectly happy to spend the entire day in bed with you,” she purred, running her hands down my chest until she was stroking the belt on my jeans with her fingertips. “Are you going to tell me where we’re going?”

“You’ll see,” I grinned. “Come on. Let’s take our seats.”

Jade eyed me suspiciously as we got into the waiting limo Duncan went to pick up when we landed in Macon. I took her hand in mine, running my thumb across her knuckles.

“We’re not going to the mansion?” she frowned when she noticed we had turned in the opposite direction.

“Not yet. I thought we’d have a late lunch at Lake Tobesofkee first.”

“Like a picnic?” she beamed. I nodded with a gleam in my eye. It would also give Claire more time to prepare the garden. It had been like a military operation getting everything organized without Jade finding out. I’d even enlisted Georgie to help with the guest list. Jade didn’t know it yet, but a few of her Seductor friends were attending tonight. It was still a little dangerous, but Georgie knew which of them we could trust.

“You really have thought of everything, haven’t you?” I fed her another strawberry before we both gazed out toward the lake. It was a beautiful day; the sun was warm and made the lake look magical as it glistening in the rays.

  "I like to spoil you."

"There is spoiling, and then there’s this, Oliver!" she laughed. "You don't have to do all this, you know. Being with you is enough. The Madame Mirabelle painting this morning was ridiculous, too!" It was a little extravagant, but I liked the piece as well. Modern art wasn’t my favorite, but Jade loved the artist.

“Perhaps, but thinking about you spending your birthdays alone or working…I…”

“The past doesn’t matter,” she interrupted, touching my face. “If I had to live through it all again to get to this part, I would.”

“Why don’t we finish this food, then go back to the mansion? I want you to myself a little longer before we have dinner with my family.” This was all part of my plan, of course. I needed to keep Jade toward the front of the mansion so she wouldn’t see all the preparation that was goi
ng on in the back of the grounds.

“Mmm…how could I resist that offer?” she purred, putting a strawberry seductively into her mouth.

“You’ll need to keep her upstairs a little while longer,” Georgie stressed when I met her in the kitchen later that evening.

“Why? She’s about to get ready.” We’d already been in bed for three hours. I wasn’t sure how much stamina I had left to keep her busy.

“Your special guest has been delayed.” Alex! I should have known!

“Okay, well, the band can play until he arrives. I can only keep Jade occupied for another hour. If it’s any longer than that, she’ll know something is up.” I looked around, trying to find something to distract Jade with. I couldn’t just go back upstairs and seduce her again. I’d been doing that all day. All I could see were a few bottles of lager on the counter. That would have to do.

Picking up two bottles, I gave Georgie a nod and made my way back upstairs.

Jade was fresh out of the shower, putting her panties on, when I walked back into the master suite. I needed to think fast. Distracting her with sex was the only thing that would work.

“Where did you go?” she giggled over her shoulder.

“I thought we could both use a drink. Claire is stressing because dinner won’t be ready for another hour,” I stated, circling her like prey. Gazing at Jade in her panties was making my cock stir. Suddenly, I had a vision of licking lager off her damp skin.

“I could go down and help her?”

“You will do no such thing,” I snorted, stretching my arm out to run my fingertips down her spine.

“We’ve just spent the last three hours in bed! Are you serious?”

“I’m always serious about this,” I whispered, turning her around and making her grip the bedpost. I placed the lager on a table near me for a moment. Noticing her towel on the floor behind me, I picked it up. “Step onto this towel,” I instructed, placing it on the floor beside her.

“Jesus, Oliver, what are you going to do?” Jade gasped, doing as I asked.

“I’m going to lick lager off every inch of your body,” I purred into her ear, running my hand over her pert little ass.

“Fuck,” she groaned, clutching the bedpost tighter.

I slipped out of my T-shirt and sweats. There was something about skin on skin that added to the excitement.

Picking up one of the bottles, I knelt down so I was face to face with her sexy ass. Slowly, I poured a little liquid down her back so it soaked into her lace panties. Jade yelped at the coldness.

“Oh, Baby,” I groaned, pulling her panties tight against her ass so the material grazed against her sex. “Lager and your sexy ass…now that’s a combination.” I made slow licks down her back, toward her butt, squeezing and licking each cheek as I went. Jade was already panting by the time I guided her around to face me. “I think we’ll get rid of these now,” I smirked, pulling her panties down her legs.

“You are such a sexy bastard,” she groaned while I caressed her calves.

“You do this to me, Beautiful,” I whispered looking up at her. She was a goddess and soon would be all mine.

I started from the middle this time, watching the lager trickle down her neck and chest. Quickly, I devoured her breasts, licking and sucking while I made my way up her neck toward her lips. I kissed her deeply while I dripped lager down the lower half of her body. “Mmm…time for me to go down,” I winked suggestively, rubbing my hand against her sex.

“Shit, yes.” Pushing Jade down onto the bed, I spread her legs wide, revealing her moist center to me. The power I felt when I was between her legs spurred me on. I could never get enough of this.

“Mmm…you taste even sweeter mixed with lager,” I mumbled into her sex, sucking her clit into my mouth while my hands ran up and down her legs.

“Oh…oh fuck…OLIVER!” My pace was frantic. I needed to feel her tremble all over my tongue. Then I was going to fuck her raw with my cock.

“Give it up, Beautiful. It’s your birthday, after all.” I took one long seductive lick against her sex when she gazed down at me. Jade’s eyes rolled back into her head as she fell against the pillows. I kept working her body, using my tongue and fingers to trigger her release. She’d had so many orgasms today that it took a little longer than usual, but when she did climax, her whole body arched and her feet clenched while she clawed the sheets beneath her.

“I’m not sure I have the energy to eat now,” she panted as I crept up her body, positioning my cock at her entrance. She was deliciously wet. “Holy shit! Again?” She gasped.

“My cock is hungry,” I grinned, pushing inside her. Jade gave in with a soft groan.

“You’re looking very dapper, Oliver.” Claire smiled, watching me adjust my tie. Alex was only minutes away and needed to talk to me before he went on stage. Damn rock stars. Why did I ever think this was a good idea?

“You’ll keep Jade busy in the study, right?”

“Yes,” she laughed, shaking her head at me. “I’ve never seen you so flustered before. Are you okay?”

“I just need tonight to be perfect for Jade. It has to go off without a hitch.”

“It will. Stop worrying. You’re doing such a wonderful thing for her. The guests are starting to arrive, and that lovely man, Drew, is greeting them with Georgie. Jade has some very nice friends, doesn’t she?” I had to snort at my aunt. She was crushing on Drew.

“Yes, she does,” I smirked just as I heard Molly call me.

“Holy fuck! Oliver, you didn’t?” she screamed. “Alex fucking Harbour is outside!”

“Keep your voice down,” I cautioned, rushing over to her. Molly squealed so loudly, I worried that Jade might hear us.

“The sexiest man alive is in your garden and you want me to keep calm?” I rolled my eyes and headed outside before Jade came to see what all the noise was about.

The garden looked amazing. Claire had done a wonderful job decorating the marquee by adding hundreds of twinkle lights, making it look magical. All the guests were already inside having a few drinks, waiting for the guest of honor to arrive and start the festivities.

Alex was waiting for me behind the party in his dressing room. Why he needed a room just to perform three songs was beyond me.

“You’re late,” I glared when our eyes met. He looked as if he’d been drinking. “Are you drunk?” I spat.

“It was one for courage, I promise,” Alex pleaded as I put my face in my hands.

“What was I thinking? I knew you’d let me down!”

“Ollie, please. I’ve got this. It was one drink.”

“This is the most important night of my life, Alex. If you mess this up, I swear…”

“I’ve got it, honestly. One coffee and I’ll be good to go.” He turned toward an attractive brunette. “Nat, can you please get me a cup of coffee?”

“Just this once, I will.” She glared at Alex before storming off.

“That’s the new PA?” I inquired, trying to hide my smirk. Natasha couldn’t have been more his type if she’d tried.

“I’m working on her. I’ll get under her skin soon enough.”

“I need you on stage in twenty minutes. I take it that you’ve practiced the songs that I want you to perform?“

“Yes, now go and enjoy the party. I’ll be on in twenty minutes, I promise. The band is setting up now. I can’t wait to meet this woman of yours. She must really be something.”

  “She is.”

“I’m happy for you.” Alex patted me on the back and I calmed down a little. “Love is a rare thing for some. I’m glad you’ve found it. Now go get her, tiger!”

I patted my jacket pocket as I walked back into the mansion. The ring was still there.

“Where have you been?” Jade mused, greeting me as I joined her in the study. “Claire said I couldn’t leave the study until you came to get me. What are you up to?”

“I was getting your last birthday surprise ready. Come on.” Tak
ing her hand in mine, I led her through the mansion toward the back door. I needed to relax. I could do this. Marriage was a common thing, but to me, this was more than Jade becoming my wife. This was me being able to tie myself to her in every single way.

“Oh. My. God, Oliver, what have you done?” Jade gasped as we stepped outside and noticed the lit up tent at the end of the garden.

“Come and see, Beautiful,” I whispered, kissing her knuckles softly before guiding her toward the party.

Watching the emotion on Jade’s face as she greeted all her friends and my family made my heart swell.

“I can’t believe you did this,” she whimpered, her eyes wet with tears once we’d greeted all the guests.

“Happy birthday, Beautiful,” I grinned, pulling her toward me so I could kiss her deeply. The band began to play a song I knew well, which was my queue. “May I have this dance?”

“Like you need to ask,” she giggled, placing her hand in mine.

Leading her on to dance floor, I gave a nod to the guitarist. It was now or never. I pulled Jade close to my body, taking a deep breath.

“I have one more surprise, and it’s going to involve a song and question that you have to answer yes or no to,” I whispered into her ear. The music changed and morphed into the intro of the song I’d requested Alex to play at the same time he stepped onto the stage.

Jade frowned at me. “What are you talking about?” She hadn’t noticed the song or Alex yet, but it was about to become real to both of us. I dropped down onto one knee, taking the ring of out my pocket and holding it up to her as Alex began to sing.

Screams came from every direction, and in that moment, I wasn’t sure if it was because the crowd had noticed Alex Harbour on stage, or because I was proposing to Jade.

“Oliver?” Jade gasped, tears streaming down her face. “Are…you…? Is…this…?”

“I had some big speech prepared, but now that the moment is here, I don’t think I need it. Will you marry me, Jade?” I gazed up at her, waiting for an answer. She had to say yes. I couldn’t picture my life with anyone else.
