  Orsar—Fifth officer’s rank in the Watch, envoy to guilds, noble houses, etc.

  Rorden—Fourth officer’s rank in the Watch, in charge of a Watchpost, barracks, or five to six patrols

  Sea Ward—the northeastern ward for nobles and social climbers, the “new money” neighborhood

  Shieldlar—Third officer’s rank in the Guard (equal to a lieutenant)

  South Ward—the southeastern ward of the city, home to caravan drovers, carters, and many adventurers

  Taol—the common trade-coin of Waterdeep

  Trades Ward—the eastern ward abutting the City of the Dead and home to scribes, business folk, and guilds

  Valabrar—Fifth officer’s rank in the Guard (equal to a major)

  Undercliff—newest ward at the base of the eastern cliffs and includes subterranean links up to the city

  Warrens—subterranean territories beneath Dock and Castle Ward, home to smaller demihumans

  Watch—the police force for Waterdeep

  Zzar—Waterdhavian wine that tastes strongly of almonds
