“He lied to us about his relationship with Chad, too,” Erica confirmed.

“When I saw him at Casey’s, Les implied that Chad was interested in the women in his class. I think it was a ruse.” Megan turned to Erica.

Erica nodded agreement. “Same one he used on us. He wanted us to think that Chad was going to everyone’s houses because he liked women.”

“Except, Chad also tried to get information from his male students,” Megan pointed out. “Les should have realized someone would figure that out.”

Erica shrugged. “I never claim to understand the reasoning of a murderer.”

Doug raised his glass. “On behalf of the men of Teaberry waiting anxiously to get their hands on some engagement rings, I thank you all for your service.”

Lauren set her glass down after taking a drink. “I hear Miles and Harriet are finally dating.”

“Jerry and Madison are engaged,” Erica said. “Rhys had to wait a little longer than he’d planned, but he and Ava are too.”

“Everett and Luella are as well,” Megan said.

“What ever happened to the writing class?” Lauren asked.

“The college got someone to step in and take over. From what I understand, the students are a lot happier.” Megan looked around the table. “Oh, and I met the most amazing author and illustrator of children’s books! I’m going to buy you all a copy of her first book when it’s published. Everett and Tia at Olde Tomes were able to get Mandy hooked up with a publisher.”
