Bound (The Onyx Wolves Book 1) Page 3

by Raven K. Asher

  I nod in agreement.

It was good to let things go but it could make us appear weak in front of the wrong audience.

“Let’s just go down and get dinner with everyone else, okay?” He thankfully changes the subject.

I nod and we both quietly make our way out of my room.

  4-Movie Night

“Your house is huge, Parker.” Harley whispers in awe as they follow me down the hall and towards the theater room.

“You’ve been holding out on us, Parker.” Ariel adds.

Dad suddenly appears from his office door.

We all stop as he holds out his hand to Harley. “It’s nice to finally meet Parker’s friends.”

Harley takes his hand in hers giving him a quick shake. “It’s nice to finally see where you lock Parker up, Sir.”

I nearly choke as my father frowns and then breaks out into laughter. “I see why my daughter likes you.”

Looking towards me he points in Harley’s direction. “Keep this one close, I like her.”

Next he moves on to Ariel who gets completely shy and begins stuttering. “Hi, Mr. Haynes, it’s nice to finally meet you.”

With a quick shake she steps behind Harley and my father moves on to Andy.

I cringe as he takes his hand giving him a strong squeeze. “And you must be the boy my daughter has been hiding behind my back.”

Andy gulps and looks to me before nodding. “Yes, Sir, I’m sorry about that it wasn’t meant out of disrespect.” He apologizes nervously.

“Oh, I know. My daughter can be quite persuasive when she wants to be.” My dad answers.

“Uh, yes Sir, I guess she can be at times.” Andy replies awkwardly.

Thankfully, the awkward moment is broken up by Rowan and Dillon as they join us in the hallway.

“You guys ready for movie night?” Rowan asks excitedly while placing his arm around my shoulder, Dillon slips in-between Ariel and Harley.

“I’m definitely ready for this tonight.” Harley answers wrapping her arm around Dillon’s waist.

His eyes go wide for a moment in shock and I laugh lightly knowing just what my friend had done to him.

She was a major flirt and not at all afraid to pinch.

I couldn’t blame her, Dillon was cute after all.

But he wasn’t my type not like Rowan, Andy, and London, were.

Blonde hair on a guy made me weak in the knees.

“Alright, kids, I guess I’ll let you get to the movie.” Dad states thankfully letting us go.

Before he leaves he points to me. “Remember what we talked about, Parker. I want it done tonight.”

With that he leaves us alone.

“That was heavy.” Rowan whispers and I nod.

“You have no idea.” I agree.

“So, what are we going to be watching?” Dillon questions thankfully changing the subject.

Harley holds up a bag. “I brought a whole bunch of movies we can pick from.”

“Great, let’s get into the theater room and pick one.” I grin and move to lead us all the rest of the way down the hall and into the large theater room.

The room was built like a mini theater, minus the uncomfortable red chairs.

Instead of the chairs there was a mixture of leather couches and soft leather chairs.

Andy lets out a low whistle as his arm takes its place around my waist.

I close my eyes knowing that I had to begin separating myself from him now rather than just break up all of the sudden.

Leading him on wasn’t going to be an option tonight.

Opening my eyes I shrug out of his embrace and walk over to where Harley was spreading out the movies that she had brought with her.

“This is the one.” Rowan picks one and without another word he heads down to the front of the room to the TV.

“I guess we’re watching that one.” Harley laughs along with Ariel.

“Which one was it?” I ask.

“I don’t even think he read the title.” Harley continues to laugh. “It’s Twilight.”

  I break into laughter.

He was really going to regret his decision but I wasn’t going to be the one to tell him that now.

As the movie begins to play Gage, London, and Brock all file into the room with us.

Inwardly I groan as Brock and Gage sit on either side of me and Andy on one of the loveseats.

Gage lets out a low growl as he looks us over.

I know I wasn’t trying hard to distance myself from Andy, considering I was snuggled comfortably into his side and his hand was drawling soothing circles on my thigh, but I just found it hard to pull away from him.

Looking in his direction I place my hand on Andy’s chest flipping him off.

I didn’t need Gage judging me.

Brock on the other hand had more direct intentions.

The seat dips beside me as he sits right down on the loveseat with us.

I turn to glare at him and he smiles.

“This just looked so much more comfortable than any of the chairs.” He grins wider as I finally pull away from Andy, suddenly uncomfortable.

“Are you guys all living here with Parker now or are you guys just visiting?” Andy asks abruptly.

My eyes go wide as Gage’s voice answers him. “We are staying here for now or until Parker decides to make up her mind on what she wants with us.”

“Wait, you guys are here for her?” Andy asks quickly as his brow scrunches.

“Yes, we are. You didn’t think you were her only boyfriend, did you?” Gage smiles menacingly.

Andy’s head swings towards me in question. “Is that true?”

I open my mouth to speak but someone else beats me to it.

“No, it’s not true. Gage just likes to be a complete asshole sometimes.” London states as he takes a seat behind us.

Andy nods but doesn’t at all look convinced as he eyes me and Brock.

It doesn’t help when Brock decides to place his hand on my leg.

I growl and punch him in the side.

He huffs and throws his hands into the air as he surrenders. “Alright, jokes over, I get it.”

Thankfully, he gets up leaving Andy and me alone on the loveseat once again.

The mood between us had been successfully ruined though, as Andy and I watch the movie apart.

Halfway through the movie I get up silently before running out of the room and into the hallway.

Leaning against the wall I slide down to my butt as tears begin falling from my eyes.

  God, this hurt.

It hurt more than I ever thought possible.

My heart had fallen in love with Andy in some way, I saw that now.

The door to the theater room opens and I hide my face as Gage walks out shutting the door gently behind him.

I was sure he was going to gloat, but he surprises me when peek out to see him kneeling in front of me.

“We could all hear you out here crying, Parker.” He whispers pulling my hands away from my face.

“I’m sorry. I’ll just go to my room then.” I whisper softly as I move to stand.

His hand on my arm stops me.

“Please, just let me go, Gage. I can’t take your harsh words right now, I just can’t.” I whimper as more tears flood from my eyes.

“I wasn’t going to be harsh. I only wanted to apologize, Parker. I was wrong before, you care more than you want to, don’t you?” He whispers while wiping my tears from my cheeks.

I nod at a loss for words.

He was exactly right, I cared far too much.

  I felt far too much.

Moments later, Brock is the next to come out.

His face scrunched in anger as he takes in the scene between Gage and me. “You need to get back in there and end whatever is between you and that stinking human. If you don’t I swear to god I will tear him limb from limb while you watch.”

Gage stands in front of me. “You know the laws forb
id that, Brock.”

“The laws also forbid our females from fornicating with human men.” Brock growls as he looks past Gage to me.

“I’m sure Parker knows the laws, Brock, and I’m sure she hasn’t been touched in that way, have you?” Gage turns to look at me for my answer.

I hide my face in shame and he curses.

Andy and I had gone a little farther than just kissing.

I just kept denying that it had ever happened, lying to myself was the only way I could justify defying my father’s rules.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Brock laughs out. “She’s not only broken our laws she’s been with the human in ways that only her own kind should be.”

Gage turns his full attention to me.

It was a frightening thing to see his anger fully displayed in his eyes.

Grabbing me by my neck he pulls me up to stand.

His eyes search mine for a moment. “How did he touch you?”

I close my eyes not wanting to answer.

He growls as his grip tightens. “How much did you allow the human to touch you?”

Loosening his grip he glances back to Brock. “Alright, if she wants to play this game then we will take things into our own hands. Brock, go get her little play thing and tell him you saw something he needs to see.”

Brock grins menacingly before rushing back into the theater room.

“What are you going to do?” I ask with fear.

The last thing I wanted them to do was hurt Andy.

“I’m going to make this easy for your boy toy. I’m going to make him hate ever feeling anything for you. He’s going to hate the very sight you.” Gage snarls.

With one swift move his free hand tears the material just at the top of my shirt, splitting it to expose the very tops of my breasts.

And just as the door opens he lifts me by my waist wrapping my legs around his waist.

His face nuzzles into my neck as his other hand grabs firmly to the back of my head, his wolf claws dig into my skin drawing blood and so he could force me to comply with whatever he wanted me to do.

My eyes travel over to the doorway where not only Andy was now standing but so were my best friends.

Harley and Ariel both look just as hurt as Andy.

“What the hell, Parker.” Harley yells.

Gage growls into my neck. “Moan for me.”

His teeth graze over my skin and I have no choice but to comply.

I moan softly as I close my eyes.

“That’s some girlfriend, huh, Andy?” Brock all but laughs out as Gage continues to make this whole encounter appear to be more than it really was.

My heart breaks as I hear Andy leave.

“God you’re sick, Parker, how could you do this to him.” Harley barks out in anger. “And you can’t even stop, you make even me sick.”

Her words slam into me like punches.

“I want one last moan for me, Parker.” Gage demands.

As the moan falls from my lips I watch my two best friends leave after Andy.

Gage pulls back with a grin as he retracts his claws from my neck. “You did very well, princess.”

Brock joins him with a bark of laughter as I slide back down the wall.

No tears come, not even a whimper as my heart breaks and my whole world falls apart.

“I hate you.” I whisper fiercely. “I hate you all.”

“Hate us all you want, Sweetheart, but at the end of this all you will have to be with one of us, and even if you don’t want to pick one of us, your father will.” Brock laughs.

With that both Gage and Brock walk away.

London and Dillon walk out from the theater room and I instantly point down the hall. “Just leave, get the hell out of here.”

Without a word both of them leave as well.

Last but not least, Rowan walks out and pauses in front of me. “I think I hate sparkly vampires as much as buff werewolves.”

I can’t help but laugh out loud as he kneels down in front of me. “I’m sorry they did that to you. You didn’t deserve their cruelty.”

Tears once again pool in my eyes as he pulls me into his arms.

Out of everyone he was the kindest.

He was the one that I wished had been born an Alpha.

I could have easily found myself choosing him as a mate instead of the others.

My cries turn into sobs as he holds me tighter. “Shhhh, we don’t need them to hear you breaking apart.” He hushes me gently.

  I couldn’t stop crying though.

Even as he picks me up to carry me I bury my head into his chest as the tears just keep coming and my sobs wrack my body.

My heart was breaking and the pain I felt was unbearable.

These strangers had come into my life and in one day they had ruined everything that meant anything to me.

They broke me, and they broke my heart.

They may have even broken my soul.

In my room Rowan lies me down on my bed before pulling the covers over my body.

“I will fix this.” He promises with a light kiss to my forehead.

The door shuts and I let myself fall into the deep dark bliss of depression.

My wolf was even oddly silent as I continued to cry.

Everything was going to change from here on out. I felt it deep in my bones.

  5-Darkness

“Parker, you need to open this door right now.” Dad commands.

Rolling my back to the door I ignore his demands for the third day in a row.

Over and over someone had come to the door demanding for me to come out, but I just stayed in bed ignoring them all.

What reason did I have to get up?

My friends all hated me, even after over a hundred texts from me apologizing and trying to explain what had happened.

I didn’t know what else to say to Andy other than sorry, and that was all I sent him in a text and voicemail.

“Come on, Parker, at least let one of us come in and talk to you.” Rowan knocks this time.

Hearing his voice brings tears back to my eyes and once again I find myself sobbing into my hands as a sharp pain slices through my heart.

It wasn’t his fault, but I just couldn’t help the feelings that came flooding back.

Loud footsteps sound outside the door as someone else joins Rowan.

There’s a loud growl before Brock speaks. “I can’t take anymore of her crying. It’s time for her to grow a backbone and get out of that room.”

“You’re not getting past me, Brock.” Rowan challenges.

“Do you really think you’re going to be able to stop me, Beta?” Brock snarls.

“That’s enough, both of you need to stand down, especially you, Rowan.” Gage yells. “If she wants to stay in there and cry then let her, she’s not an alpha. She’s nothing more than a waste of our time. Now, I’ve got my eyes on a little beauty at the school and I’m not about to waste another second on that beta in there.”

His words were so harsh, but they were true to a point.

I was acting like more of a beta than an alpha.

I just didn’t know how to fix myself to be strong enough to still be an alpha that a pack needed.

“You’re a real jerk, Gage. You cost her everything and now you could care less. You were never like this before.” Rowan states in anger.

“Do you want to challenge me, Rowan? Do I need to put you back in your place again?” Gage questions.

“No, I only want to be removed as your second if this is the way you’re going to be. I don’t want anything to do with you or your future pack.” Rowan answers.

Gage lets out a low growl along with Brock.

Renouncing one’s self as a second was unheard of and it was a slap to any Alpha.

“Forget it, Rowan. I’m not about to let you renounce yourself. You’re stuck with me and that’s final.” Gage replies before storming away with Brock following.

  Rowan sighs d
eeply and I hear his hand smooth over the wood on my door. “Please, come out, Parker. I don’t think I can do this without you here.”

Sighing, he leaves, walking down the hall and then down the stairs before leaving the house altogether.

Minutes later my father knocks on my door. “Parker, Sweetheart, can I please come in and at least talk with you?”

Giving in, I sit up in bed before reluctantly walking over to the door letting him in.

Walking past me he sits on the edge of my bed placing his head into his hands.

With a long drawn out sigh he looks up at me sadly. “I’m sorry about all of this, Parker. I’m sorry I brought them all here, and I’m sorry for forcing this life upon you. I made a huge mistake.”

Standing to his feet once again he continues as he turns his back to me. “I just wanted what was best for you, but obviously it’s not this. It certainly isn’t going to be with any of these young alphas either.”

Turning back to face me he bows his head. “I can’t stop any of this, though. You must choose one of them. Their families have risked everything bringing them here, and if I were to send them back without you picking at least one of them as a mate it would cause an all out war between the packs.”

I curse. “Why did you make a decision like this without me? I don’t want to be with any of them, Dad. I want nothing to do with this life anymore.”

He nods sadly. “I know which is why if you want we can just postpone this until their families just get tired of waiting.”

I nod in agreement. “I don’t care what we do, just as long as they leave.”

Pulling me into a hug my father kisses the top of my head. “You really need to get back to school. It will help to take your mind off of the dark thoughts and it might help you win back your friends if they see just how much the others have hurt you.”

“Alright, Dad, I’ll go back.” I sigh, giving in.

What did I really have to lose?

He grins letting me go. “You’re stronger than you think, Parker, don’t forget that.”

I nod and watch him as he leaves my room leaving me alone.

Dressing in a black low cut tee and a worn pair of jeans I lace up my knee high boots and head out to my bike with my helmet and bag in hand.
