   Knotting her fingers at the back of his head, Ruby smiled. ‘Will we live here?’
   ‘No, I thought we’d put Lottie in this apartment. She’ll be able to continue her good works looking after the patients when you’re off duty.’
   ‘And we’ll live – where?’
   ‘Next door, over the club. Darling Ruby, I didn’t promise to turn into a saint overnight.’
   ‘No,’ Ruby said, smiling. ‘And I don’t think I’d want you to.’
   ‘Does that mean you’ll marry me?’
   ‘I think it does.’
