Rebellious Soul Page 13

I knew if the Descendant ever found out who I was they would kill me. I was fine with that because I knew I deserved it. I wasn’t proud of the deals I made with the ATF and undercover life I led for them, but all of that brought me to Lacie so I didn’t regret it.

Lacie was love and peace, but more than that she was the forgiveness I had been searching for all my life. I loved her and her rebellious soul.

  Force

“Lace I’ll be back Sunday night. Call my cell if you need me.” I threw on my cut and kissed her on the head.

“Sunday? Where are you going Force?” She questioned.

“Just need to get away for a few days. Don’t worry I’m not going too far.” I answered.

“You need company Prez? I could go for a ride.” Logan interrupted.

I was trying not to draw attention to the fact I was leaving for the weekend and not taking any members with me. I just needed to get away and clear my head. A lot of shit had happened in the last month and I had a lot of shit still do to. Going legit wasn’t as easy as we wanted it to be. It would happen, but it would take time.

“Thanks Logan, but I need some time to myself. You and the guys take the weekend and spend it with your families. Titan, Lacie doesn’t leave your sight.” I knew all the Hellfires were dead, but they weren’t our only enemy. I wasn’t taking any chances with her again.

“No problem.” Titan said as he sat down beside Lace on the couch and took her into his arms.

I was still getting used to them as a couple. I had been busy lately so I didn’t see them a lot, but times I did see them together made me regret not killing him. She was my baby sister, mine to protect. I should have never let her come to Texas. I should have made her stay in fucking Oklahoma.

Because of me she had been kidnapped and tortured. Because of me she was no longer a respected doctor. But the thing I hated the most was she fell in love with a criminal, a murderer, a member of my club. She was meant for better things. Dad was right to leave her behind.

  Force

The three hour ride to Wichita Falls was just what I needed to clear my head. I only had twenty minutes till the meet so I needed to find the hotel. I wasn’t proud of what I was going to do, but I had to get Lacie back to safety. Even if she ended up hating me at least she would be safe.

After a few swift knocks the door opened and I stepped in the room. The Texas night was cool and I was thankful the small room was warm. Two lamps above the bed side table were glowing and the TV was playing some real housewives shit.

I reached in the pocket of my cut and pulled out my cigarettes. I made eye contact as I lit the cigarette and inhaled the intoxicating smoke. Lacie’s voice took over my thoughts and I could hear her telling me how smoking was going to kill me. She loved telling me “No one likes a smoker”. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud a little at the thought.

I shook my head to clear my thoughts. The last thing I needed to be thinking about right now was how much I loved Lace and how much I was going to miss her. This meeting was about getting her out of Texas and keeping her safe.

“I need you to convince Lacie to go with you. I don’t care what you have to tell her or what you have to do. She has to go back to Oklahoma. Now!” I snapped.

“What makes you think she will go with me? And what are you going to do about Titan?” She asked.

“Don’t worry about Titan. He will see things my way or he will meet the fate he so rightfully deserves.” Honestly I didn’t give two fucks about Titan.

“Force I don’t think it’s going to work. I will never be able to convince her to leave Titan and you.”

“Sara, he can’t make her happy and give her the life she deserves. I was selfish to ask her to come to Texas. You give her a reason to go back to Oklahoma and I’ll do the rest.” I sounded like an asshole, but I would do whatever it takes to keep Lacie safe.

Sara was sitting on the edge of the king size bed holding the remote in her hands. Her long blonde hair was in loose curls flowing down her back. She had knee high boots on, that would probably hit most girl’s right above the calf. She was only a few inches over five foot, but she was more beautiful than any six foot tall model.

She had deep green eyes that were accented with way to much makeup, but she pulled it off without looking cheap. She had classic beauty like movies stars from the forties. She wore a worried look on her face, but she had sadness and pain behind her eyes. I wanted to ask her about it and somehow make it go away, but I didn’t have time for that.

“What if she finds out we went behind her back? She will hate me forever. I can’t do it Force. She is my best friend, she is more than that, she is my sister. I want her safe Force, but I also want her happy.” Sara sighed.

Sara and Lacie had been best friends since grade school. From what Lacie had told me they practically grew up at each other’s houses. I knew Sara was the only person Lacie would listen too. I could’ve called that sorry excuse of a mother and she would have dragged Lacie back kicking and screaming, but I knew Lace wouldn’t forgive me for that.

“She will be happy one day when she meets someone new, someone safe. I know this is hard Sara, but it’s the only way.”

I knew it wouldn’t be easy convincing Sara especially after Lacie told her how happy she had been with Titan. I really didn’t want to discuss club business with her, but it was looking like I was going to have to share the ugly side of club shit. Scaring her was becoming my only option.

“Sara there is a lot more to the club and what happened to Lacie than you know.” I took a deep breath and ran my fingers through my hair. “Our dad was shot and killed in cold blood by the same fuckers that kidnapped Lacie. If we wouldn’t have stopped them they would have raped her, killed her, chopped her up in pieces and mailed them to us.” I shook with rage at the thought.

“What? Why didn’t she tell me?” she cried.

“She couldn’t. Living with us means she is one of us. She has to keep secrets to protect the club. The only reason I am telling you this is because I need you to know how dangerous it is for her.” I kneeled down in front of her and took her hands from her face. “Sara, this time we were able to save her, but next time we may not be so lucky.”

She stood up and walked to the mirror by the bathroom. She wiped her eyes and straightened her shirt. I was fighting the urge to walk over there and lift her onto the counter while ripping her clothes off and kissing down her body.

She cleared her throat as she pulled herself together. “Okay Force. What do I need to do?”

I wasn’t sure what Lacie had told her about what happened to her, but I knew it wasn’t the truth. I knew as soon as I told her what really happened she would be on my side and help me get Lacie away from Titan.

“You are going to have to come up with some excuse of why you need her to go back to Oklahoma with you. Even if it’s just temporary. Once she is back for a while I will start calling and telling her how dangerous things are getting. I will tell her the cartel and the AFT are both after us.” Honestly if I didn’t figure out a way to go legit without pissing off the cartel it was going to be a true story.

“What are going to about Titan? I’m sure he will tell her the truth and try to get her to come back. That is if he even lets her go. Force, they love each other, it’s not going to be very easy to split them up.” She crossed her arms and looked at me like I was crazy.

“You come up with a reason for her to leave and I will come up with a reason for him to stay.” I said.

“What are you going to do when he shows up at my door to get her and bring her back to Texas?” She argued.

“He’s not going to live long after she is gone.” I smirked.
