Daniel ripped his hand away from hers. “This is my job!”

“It's money! Who cares? No one is dying!”

Daniel sneered at her. “You have absolutely no respect for what I do.”

Reese bit her lip. “And you have no respect for me.”

  “This isn't about you.”

“No. This is about you right?” Reese countered. “This is about your job. The only thing that matters to you.”

“Well, I'm sorry if I'm ambitious and not a waitress at Per Se.” He snapped.

“I'm a research assistant!” She cried.

Daniel just shook his head and continued out of the bedroom.

“Wait! What do you want me to do?” She demanded.

Daniel whipped his body around. “I have more important concerns that what you do!” He roared.

“YOU DISGUST ME!” Reese cried after him just before he slammed the door behind him.

  Chapter 8

Reese took short quick breaths of the frosty air. It was well into the night by then and buckets of tears had already dried on her cheeks and yet her abdomen shook with the promise of even more tears. She couldn't believe what had just happened. As she sludged through the streets of the upper east side of Manhattan she tried to wrap her brain around how she had just been treated, but just couldn't comprehend any of it. It was as if work made him a completely different person. The image of his eyes, which were always so serene fierce and red hot with rage made her nauseous. She could have lived a thousand years without ever seeing this side of him. After standing in front of the subway entrance for thirty minutes, she was finally able to bring herself to descend the stairs and board the train home.

Once the train reached West 4th, she stepped out onto the platform and followed the small crowd of working people just like her. But when they reached the stairs, she found she couldn't go on. She rested her back against the tile of the wall next to her and slowly sank to the ground, not caring who had been there, or peed there before. Just as her bum hit the cool pavement, a fresh wave of tears hit. She wrapped her arms around her abdomen and dug her nails into the back of her shirt as heaves of grief flowed out of her, because for a second she actually believed that she meant something to him; that she meant something to anyone. But, once again, she was losing to the luster of money. Her face didn't matter, nor did her frizzy hair or her ideas... or her heart. “No.” She thought, “My body mattered. He only wanted me for my body.” Those words echoed throughout her skull as she murmured, “He used me.”

With that, she sucked in one long breath of rancid air and stood up, ascending the stairs and emerging into the special night air of Manhattan that she had become accustomed to. Her feet moved with a deliberate sadness, until finally, she reached the street that housed her apartment building.

  But...

  In the distance...

  She saw a figure.

Her feet picked up speed as she peered through the blue glow of street lamps at the frame she could have recognized anywhere. Her heart skipped a beat and then thrust itself into rhythmic pounding as she all but ran to her doorstep.

It was him, sitting on her stairs like a homeless man.

“What are you doing here?” She asked in a wavering voice.

  “I lied to you.”

She brushed past him, and, with weak hands, fished out her keys. “I know you pretended to care about me.”

Her muscles tensed as he placed his hands on her waist rested his head in the back of her hair. “No. Tonight. When I told you I didn't care what you did.”

“Well, I wasn't lying when I said you disgust me... because you do.” She got the door open, but when she tried to step inside, he tightened his grip, holding her to her spot.

  “Look at me.” He whispered.

Reluctantly. Reese turned to find Daniel looking more beat up than she'd ever seen. His brilliant eyes which were sharp just three hours ago, were weak, and pleading. “Don't say that to me. I can't bear if that's true.”

“I suppose everything went great with Mitch.” Reese retorted.

He shook his head. “I didn't go.”

Reese's eyes went wide. “You... what?”

“I regretted everything as soon as I left. I got in the car and drove two blocks, but I turned around....” He trailed off, shaking his head. “I came rushing back to apologize, but you were already gone. Somehow I fished out your address from GPS and I came straight here, but... but you... I waited for three hours.” He squeezed his eyes shut. “And then I was sure something happened to you.”

  “I'm right here.” Reese pressed.

“I don't even remember what I had planned to say when I first left, but now all I can't about is how much I can't lose you. I know I sound crazy, and maybe clingy, but you're worth so much more than twenty billion dollars.”

Reese threw her arms around him, pressing her body against his as tears of relief streamed down her face.

Daniel buried his face into her small shoulder. “Just don't ever disappear like that ever again.”

Reese split her lips as a sliver of the cool night air filled her mouth. She raised her head to sky offering all of her to this one moment where everything felt exactly right. “I won't.” She breathed.

Daniel came into her apartment and embraced her with a kiss that lasted an eternity. His hands caressed her thighs while slowly moving up her dress. He touched her like a man who had been locked up for the last 30 years. Gently kissing her and unwrapping her clothing like a child on Christmas morning.

Reese shivered a cold shiver like the first day in winter, but with the added warmth of his breath over her nipples. He rubbed gently between her legs and could feel how wet she had gotten. She pulled his pants down, and went down on him. Something she usually hates, but for some reason it fell so right with him. After 10 minutes of intense fellatio Daniel pointed to the bed and asked for her to head over. He used those muscles of his to flip her over and they began enjoying a mutual satisfying 69.

Reese was drenched with excitement, as she couldn't remember the last time she was truly pleasured without having to pleasure herself. Daniel's technique was impeccable as he would slowly insert a finger letting her juice out, but keep his tongue on her clit, slowly circling, over and over. She moaned, again and again.

She got to the point where she needed him inside and Daniel, being the gentleman had to start off in missionary. Their lips were locked until infinity, and he slowly embraced her with soft deep strokes.

Right when Reese was about to cum Daniel sat up slightly, looked into her eyes and said "I feel like I've always loved you."

At that moment Reese, knew that nothing mattered, other than the two of them. Not socio economic status, not age, not race, she had truly found her soul mate and she closed her eyes and lost herself in the moment.

  Chapter 9

Daniel saw Reese sitting with her legs up close to her chin, trying to stay warm by the fireplace.

He moved towards her kneeling in front of her chair . He rubbed her feet in a very subtle, sensual manner. Reese closed her eyes and enjoyed every moment of the massage. She moaned slightly as his hands worked the sensations up her legs. His hands aroused her as they slowly moved up to the inside of her thighs.

Reese was a strong, curvy African American girl, who had finally found her beau, in a person she had almost nothing in common with. Daniel was a slick Caucasian Wall Street type, who enjoyed the finer things in life, but only experienced true joy when with Reese.

Reese suddenly sat up, as did Daniel at the same time, after a few drinks, she was lightheaded and fell into him. He caught her, grabbed her around her thighs and lifted her up. Almost instinctively, Reese wrapped her arms around his neck and slowly moved in for a deep sensual kiss. Nipping at her lips, Daniel kissed her very softly. As Reese moaned in pleasure, his tongue had his way with her mouth.

Moving his hands all around her hips and thighs, he lifted her legs and set them around his waist. He pulled he
r tight against him, and his rock hard bulge pushed up against her.

Reese slid her fingers through his silky blonde hair, and moved his head in closer. Nipping at his lips she tightened the grip of her legs around him ever so slightly.

They kissed and Daniel slowly walked towards the bed throwing her down in a playful manner. He playfully started unbuttoning her shirt and pants with the excitement of a child receiving a gift. He stood back and took in the beauty of her curvy chocolate body. Her eyes locked into his as they began to straddle each other.

He cupped her breasts, and massaged them with pure joy. Her moans grew loud with excitement and she could feel the pressure building between her legs. He started to suck on her nipples which hardened with every moment.

He pulled off his shirt, and revealed his chiseled muscular physique. He removed his pants, and felt Reese shiver with excitement.

"Your curves make me melt." He said with a smile.

He continued to massage both of her breasts while gently moving his hands between her thighs, while she brushed up against his bulge, and rubbed her legs together.

He started kissing her everywhere as she moaned with joy. He finally pushed her onto her front and made figure eights with his fingers at the inside of her legs. He could feel her getting wet with excitement.

He licked her slit and clit, which was hard with excitement. He put her clit in his mouth and made steady circles with his tongue. He slid two fingers inside her, and watched as she dripped with joy.

After all that teasing Daniel finally entered her. He massaged her back and gently thrust in steady motions. He reached around his hands down to her clit and gently massaged it while she moaned with pleasure.

The feeling on her clit felt wonderful and she continued to scream louder and louder, until she hit her O. They both moaned with excitement. She contracted her womanly muscles around his manhood and he felt himself climax.

He finally pulled out and lay beside her looking deeply into her eyes, like he hadn't seen her for a lifetime.

After four months together she was really falling for him, and could just stare into his eyes for days.

"Ok, baby, we have to get up and get dressed. It's New Year's Eve in New York City and we're late!" Yelled Daniel.

  Chapter 10

Reese unzipped the “oversized” pea coat she had bought on sale from American Apparel ten months ago for use on nights exactly like these. In the warmth of Daniel's car, with hot air seeping from the creases in his seats and out of his air vents, Reese felt more like she was in a well-ventilated room with a fire place as a central piece, than a tiny car sitting on the icy streets of New York in almost-January.

In doing this, she exposed the long, silver necklace she had received as a gift from Daniel. It hung down her chest, sitting just over the black, satin mini-dress she had dieted for the entire week after Christmas to fit into. In an attempt to get more comfortable in his car, she crossed her legs, which were covered in sheer black stockings that contrasted beautifully against the ruby red louboutin heels she had rented for this event. They hadn't even made it half way to The Roosevelt and she was already starting to get tired of everything she was wearing. She rolled her neck, hoping that stretching her tense muscles would somehow combat the headache that was threatening to eat her alive.

With trembling fingers, she adjusted the mini tiara that sat in the middle of the tight bun, which had taken much effort and even more hairspray to secure. That small movement helped to alleviate her headache a little, but it was still there, throbbing just behind her eyes.

Daniel glanced at her and, when he caught this small movement of hers, reached over and placed his hand over her thigh.

Reese couldn't help but to smile at this. His touch always warmed her heart and calmed her head.

“You look beautiful.” His words came out confident and deliberate, as if he were trying to make her believe it too.

Reese chuckled once, “Well, I better look somewhat human. This took me three hours.”

Daniel smirked at that. “I know, I watched you the whole time.”

Reese shrugged. “Because that's not creepy at all.”

He grimaced. “It would have been creepy if I took pictures.”

“For all I know, you did.” Reese joked.

“Please. You act like you wouldn't be delighted if I put a framed picture of you fastening those beautiful studded earrings of yours in my bedroom.”

Reese burst out in a fit of giggles at this. “Ew! That's so gross. I look terrible when I'm trying to put my earrings in.”

Daniel laughed. “You look... well, I wouldn't call it terrible.”

“No.” Reese pressed, “It is terrible. I basically hold my mouth open, because it's always really hard for me to find the hole and my eyebrows get all scrunchy because every single time I'm convinced that the holes have closed up and I will never be able to wear normal earrings again.”

“Reese calm down. Your ear piercings are not going anywhere.” Daniel replied as he took her hand in his.

“Hey! It happens. There are stories for sure.” Reese replied.

Daniel nodded. “All right. I completely believe you, but I beg to differ. You look wonderful when you're putting on earrings.”

“Seriously, don't put a picture of me putting on earrings in your bedroom!” Reese cried.

“But what if in some hypothetical case, I happened to have such a picture?” Daniel pressed.

“I highly doubt you have a flattering picture of me putting these earrings on.” She replied in a dry voice. “And even if you did, I wouldn't want it in your bedroom.”

“What if I put it somewhere else?”

“I would consider letting you put it somewhere else, but not the bedroom.”

Daniel laughed at this. “What do you have against bedrooms!” He exclaimed.

“Nothing! I just don't want to have to look at a picture of myself every time we have sex.”

“Haha. Okay. Fair enough.” he then turned his full attention back to the road as they hit a particularly persistent block of traffic.

Reese gazed at Daniel's concentrated expression as he stared out of the windshield, both hands clasping the wheel, his hair slicked back (with her help), his neck adorned with a thin tie and his strong frame draped in a black, velvet dinner jacket. “Okay, so this party...” She started.

  “Yes, this party.” He replied.

“I know, obviously it's really fancy or whatever, but are people going to be like, out of control, or are they going to be walking around with half full champagne glasses and talking to each other in hushed tones the whole night?” She asked.

Daniel's lips folded into a crooked smile. “I would not be spending my New Years Eve at a company party at the Roosevelt if I didn't think it was going to be out of control.”

  Reese laughed once. “Okay?”

He glanced at her again. “Look, you are about to walk into a room full of business tycoons, billionaires and the brokers who take all the credit for making them who they are. These people have worked insanely hard to be able to have, buy, eat, drink whatever they want, whenever they want to... and this is the night of ultimate indulgence.”

Reese sucked in a deep breath. “So this is basically going to be a blood bath. Thanks.” She muttered in a short voice. As she stared out the window at the street signs rapidly decreasing in number, she found herself growing more and more nervous. For a girl who grew up in with only the basic necessities, this was something else. Her stomach churned with an intensity that made her wish she had not had that glass of wine at Daniel's place, and she absentmindedly pealed at the skin on her fingertips.

Daniel shoved his hand in between hers and drew her left hand to his lips, planting a soft kiss on it. “Hey. Don't be nervous.” He murmured as he replaced her hand.

Reese shrugged stubbornly. “I'm not, I'm just...” She pressed her forehead against her window and finished with, “Feeling a little bit out of it... like lost.

There was a pause during which Daniel slammed his palm against his horn. As the shrill noise cut through the relative silence of the car, spear-heading a diatribe of more horn-honking around him, Reese looked up to find they were in front of a green light at a complete stand still.

  Chapter 11

Daniel sighed when they were finally moving again. “Don't feel out of it or lost, because you're with me and if I'm in it, then you are. You belong there as much as anyone else does...” He trailed off, making sure to look right at Reese as he said, “I want you to be a part of my life.”

Reese's heart swelled at these as words. Even though they had only been together for four months, it seemed as if he always knew exactly what to say. He was such a mind-reader that it was excitingly scary. “Thanks, Daniel.” She replied as she reached over the arm rest to plant a kiss on his cheek.

“In fact,” He continued as she dug her fingers into his cheek in an attempt to wipe off the dark red lip marks she had left there. “I think we should move in together.”

At the sound of that, Reese ripped her fingers away from his cheek and sat back in her chair, pressing her back as far into the chair as it would go and clutching the edges of her seat with her fingernails. Her mouth hung slightly ajar and her eyes went wide in complete surprise. Sure, it had only been four months, but it had been an eventful four months; four months that could have been four years. So it didn't strike her as particularly strange. Yet, it was exhilarating to imagine herself living with him; drinking her morning coffee in his apartment every day; learning the names of his doorman and valet; having more than just one drawer full of random things she'd need if she spent one night at his place; stocking up his pantry with snacks she would actually eat.

Just the thought of all of this made her want scream with joy; to jump up and dance to the amazing song that was her love for him. A smile played at the edges of her lips as she realized; this was it. She was moving in with him. “W-well... yes. Of course we should.” She muttered.
