Prologue
Malina
“Where the bricks at, Milo?” Bishop asked as he mashed her in the face with the butt of the gun again. I cringed as blood shot from her mouth.
“I don’t fucking know, Bishop!” she yelled.
“Pinky?” he asked, looking over at the girl with the pink hair.
“We literally just got here not long ago. I don’t know,” Pinky said.
He had all of us on our knees, preparing to kill us execution style. He even had PJ on the floor. Poor PJ was smiling, thinking we were playing. He had no idea that he was about to die.
“Fuck it, I’ll look in the back,” Noodle said.
After a few moments, he came back with the bag that Chola always sent us back with, so I know he had the bricks in there. I could tell by the stupid ass grin he had on his face.
Bishop was about to speak, but his phone began to ring. He smiled and put it on speaker. The look he gave me let me know that he wanted me to hear what was about to be said.
“I’m a few minutes away,” the voice said on the other end of the line.
“Hurry up, my nigga. It’s time to get this party poppin’,” Bishop said.
“That’s what I wanted to talked to you about,” the voice said.
“What?” Bishop asked with a genuinely confused look on his face.
“There’s going to be a party, but you won’t have the pleasure to be a part of it,” the voice said. Suddenly, Jenson, Monty and Noodle stood directly behind Bishop.
“Nigga, stop playing with me.”
The person laughed. “It’s not a game, Bishop. You’re out. You fouled out long ago. We don’t need you anymore.”
“What?” Bishop was now looking out the window.
“He’s here,” Jenson said.
“What’s going on?” Bishop asked his men.
“Goodbye, Bishop,” the voice said before disconnecting the line.
“It’s on,” Jenson said as he lifted his gun and shot Bishop in the middle of his head.
“Yo, what the fuck?” Noodle asked.
“You too,” Monty said before shooting Noodle two times in the head.
PJ was now crying, and so was Pinky. I was numb to everything by now. All I could think about was that voice. I’d heard it before, but I couldn’t remember when or where. But it felt like a voice I’d heard long ago.
The ringing of Jenson’s phone disrupted my thoughts. “It’s done,” Jenson said. He then talked for a few seconds and hung up in a hurry. He started grabbing the bags of bricks.
“What he say?” Monty asked.
“Glory and ’em pulling back up, gotta leave out the back. Hurry up!”
“What about them? Wasn’t we supposed to kill them?” Monty asked with a look of frustration.
“Come on, nigga! We ain’t got time!”
They grabbed Bishop’s phone and ran out the back door. The second the back door closed, Glory, Divine, Lu Lu and Kipp were bursting through the front door.
“They went out the back,” Pinky said.
Glory, Lu Lu, and Kipp hurried and ran out the back door with guns in hand.
“Thank you, Lord!” Divine yelled, running over to me and hugging me so tight.
“I thought I would never see you again,” I cried. I opened my eyes and caught a glimpse of Neiman, who was visibly unbothered by my presence. Her arms were folded and all.
“I love you so much,” Divine said.
“I love you too. I’m so sorry.”
“Shhh, it’s okay. Don’t worry,” she said.
“We lost them niggas! Fuck!” I heard Glory yell, as he pushed through the back door with Lu Lu and Kipp behind him.
“Is this Bishop and Noodle?” Kipp asked with a look of confusion, causing Glory and Lu Lu to take a deeper look into the dead eyes of the two.
“Yo, what the fu…” Lu Lu couldn’t even finish his sentence.
“Bishop and Noodle were being set up too…” I explained everything that went down right before they came.
“So, it’s a whole nigga out there watching us that we don’t know?” Glory asked.
“I can’t put my finger on it, but I’ve heard that voice before,” I said.
“Shit, was it Slick?” Neiman asked. Though she was tryna be messy, I kept calm because that was a great question.
“Nah, it wasn’t Slick.”
“See… these two niggas, I can deal with,” Kipp said as he pointed down to Noodle and Bishop, “but it’s this unknown nigga that’s bothering me.”
“That’s what I’m saying. This whole time we been after these niggas, when all along, they weren’t working alone,” Lu Lu said.
“Did y’all see anyone when y’all pulled up?” Milo asked.
“Hell nah,” Glory said.
I stood up to look out the window and saw no one. We had good news and bad news. The good news was me and PJ were home and Bishop was dead. The bad news was that this was far from over.
Chapter One
Malina
Two months later…
“Okay, Neiman, I don’t care about none of that shit,” I said as I walked back into my room.
“You should. Niggas all over here looking for you while you out thotting.”
“Whatever,” I said as I went into my room and shut the door.
A couple of months had passed since everything went down, but it didn’t change anything between Neiman and I. We had moved into a three bedroom because Divine decided that she didn’t trust us staying on our own, which I understood. But Neiman, I couldn’t deal with. We fought damn near every time Divine was gone, and now she was gone to Los Angeles with Chola, so Neiman was talking out the side of her neck. She didn’t do that shit when Divine was around.
Now she was fussing about my lil’ nigga that had come to the condo looking for me. He was just someone that I saw from time to time. She didn’t believe me, but I had no idea how this nigga knew where I stayed. I never told him or showed him. He had to have followed me, but that’s what good pussy did to a nigga.
“You just ain’t gonna learn,” Neiman said, standing at my door as I got dressed.
I didn’t respond, I just called Divine. “Whats up?” She answered.
“Where you at?” I asked.
“I don’t know why you calling Divine and bothering her. This between me and you,” Neiman said as PJ ran to her and gave her his cup. This meant he wanted more juice.
“Bitch, go feed PJ and get the fuck outta my room before I whoop your ass again and have you crying,” I hissed with an attitude.
“Whatever.” She rolled her eyes and walked off with PJ hot on her heels.
“Can y’all go just one fucking day without fighting?” Divine asked.
“It’s not me, it’s her. But when you coming back? I’m about sick of this bitch,” I said, sliding my jeans on. It was a nice day in Miami, and I was about to hit the streets.
“I’m outside. Open the door.”
“Bet.”
We disconnected the line, and I wen
t to open the door. She was right there, and she had Chola with her. I wanted to roll my eyes, but I had to wait until Chola wasn’t around. After all, she was the reason we had these bricks coming in.
“Hello, ladies,” Chola said as she walked in behind Divine.
She had on nothing but a tight yellow dress with white heels. Her hair was flawless as always. It was long and curly. Divine had on a red skin tight dress with white heels, and her hair was long and bone straight, how she always wore it.
“Hey, Chola the killa,” I joked as I walked to my room and shut the door.
Didn’t feel like conversing with them. Chola was crazy, with a bad ass attitude, and the only one that could put up with that shit was Divine. All power to her, ’cause I would’ve been knocked Chola the fuck out.
“I need you to drop these bricks off to LuLu. Give me my cut when he breaks you off the cash,” Divine said as she opened my door and handed me a bag.
I looked inside and saw that it had ten cocaine bricks in it. This made my pussy wet ’cause I was short on cash, and this would for sure get me right.
“Cool. Y’all must have drove back?” I asked.
“Nah. Jinx let us borrow the jet since I had Chola with me.” She walked out and shut the door.
This made me mad. Jinx never let Divine use the jet when she had us driving with her, but the one time we didn’t go, he lets her use it. This the type of shit I was talking about. That favoritism shit.
“You got change for a hundred?” Neiman asked, bursting through my door.
“Get the fuck out!” I yelled, slamming my door in her face. I had no manners for her bitch ass. I couldn’t stand her.
“Fuck you too,” she said from the other side of the door. I rolled my eyes and continued to get dressed. Finally, I got my keys and was ready to go.
“Where you going, big dawg?” Divine asked with a piece of Avocado in her hand as she stood in the kitchen. Chola was sitting on the counter smoking a blunt.
“To drop these bricks off and to the beach.”
“Where is your swimwear?” Chola asked.
“I’ll buy some,” I lied as I hurried out the door.
Chapter Two
Neiman
“You leaving too?” Divine asked.
“Yeah, while I’m out. I’ll drop these bricks off to Glory.”
“So I guess I have to watch PJ?” she asked.
“Yeah, you don’t be doing shit anyway,” I said as I left out the front door and got on the elevator. It still hadn’t closed from when Malina got on, so it was an awkward silence as it took us down to the lobby.
Thankfully, Divine had purchased each of us our own cars because that one SUV was not working for us. She didn’t get us anything fancy, though. She said she didn’t want all of that attention, so we each had Nissans. Malina and I had the brand new Maximas with the sunroofs. Divine was fine with the SUV truck.
When I got to my car, I called Glory to let him know that I was on the way to the trap. “What’s up?” he answered.
“I’m on the way,” I said.
“You got that?” he asked.
“Yep,” I said as I drove off onto the main street.
Malina’s bitch ass sped in front of me so she could beat the red light, causing me to miss it. I truly couldn’t stand her. Sometimes I wished Divine would’ve never fought so hard to get her back from Bishop. If you ask me, she was fine with him. Being tortured did her some good, shit. You would think she would’ve changed… but nope, she was still the same ol’ hoe. I was low-key waiting for her ass to get carried away again. I promise I wouldn’t be mad.
Before I knew it, I was pulling up at one of Glory’s traps. Him, Kipp, and LuLu had many traps all over the city, and they each owned a good amount of them separately. I called him and told him that I was outside, but he told me to come in. I hated going in there.
“Hey, Nemo. I mean Neiman,” Kipp joked as I walked inside with the bags in my hand. Glory always purchased more bricks than LuLu and Kipp.
“Why you here anyway?” I asked Kipp as I placed the bag on the table.
“Chillin’. I’m ’bout to leave,” he said, grabbing his keys.
“Where Glory?” I asked as I sat down.
“Oh, he in the back,” is all he said before walking out and closing the door.
After waiting so long for Glory to come, I finally walked to the back room and opened the door. Immediately, I wished I wouldn’t have when I saw Pinky bent over the bed getting fucked by my man.
I rolled my eyes. “Your stuff in here,” I said.
He turned his head when he saw me. “Bro, shut the door and get out,” he said.
“Whatever. You need to come and check it out before I leave.”
“Hey, Neiman,” Pinky moaned as Glory fucked her like a mad man.
Shit, he had to be fucking someone because he sure wasn’t getting no pussy from me. I called myself putting him on punishment, but that nigga ain’t care ’bout none of that shit. Look what the fuck he was in there doing. But he was supposed to be my man? What the fuck?
“Sick of this shit,” I said to myself as I went to the kitchen to see if any sodas were inside. It wasn’t nothing but half a jar of jelly, a gallon of orange juice, and some spoiled bologna… just like a fucking trap house. When I slammed the fridge, Glory was standing right there.
“Give me kiss,” he said.
“Come check this shit out so I can go.” I stormed to the living room and sat down.
Pinky walked out naked and went to the kitchen.
“Pinky, do me a favor and vacuum this floor. Kipp hoe ass must have tracked some dirt in here,” Glory said as he opened the bags.
He had on nothing but some gym shorts and boxers. His dreads were all over his head. It was obvious that he’d just got through fucking.
“So I gets no fucking respect?” I asked.
“Baby, don’t start that shit. Please…”
After our threesome, I indulged in that shit twice more. But after that, I stopped and put Glory’s stupid ass on pussy lockdown, hoping for some type of change. But seems like it got worse.
“Baby, where the vacuum?” Pinky asked as she walked back into the living room.
I envied her perfect body.
“Check the other room,” I said. Last time I came to the trap, I vacuumed and left it in the other room that was by the kitchen.
“Okay,” she said, walking off.
“When is this going to stop?” I asked. It wasn’t fun anymore. I wanted my old Glory back.
“Come on, dawg. Just chill.” He walked over to me and sat down.
“Don’t come by me,” I said.
“Give me a kiss.”
“No.”
He jerked my head toward him and forced me to kiss him. “You know I love you, right?”
“If you loved me…. never mind,” I said when I realized that we had the same conversation over and over. It wouldn’t change shit, and I was just now starting to see that.
“I do,” he said as he pecked my lips again.
“Prove it,” I said.
“I already did.”
I laughed. “How? Huh? How, Glory?”
“I’m all the way one hunned with you. That’s how. Here,” he said as he grabbed some stacks of cash for the bricks. It was under the couch.
“Thanks.” I stood to leave.
“I put extra in there for you, baby.”
“Thanks,” I said dryly.
“Love you,” he said as he walked me to the door.
I looked over at a naked Pinky that was cleaning up.
“I might love you another day.” I rolled my eyes, put the money in my handbag and walked away to get in my car.
I had to find a way to get him all to myself, or maybe I just needed to throw the whole nigga away.
Chapter Three
Milo
“Just do exactly like I told you and be yourself. Divine cool as a fan,” Glory said.
I was
on my way to meet up with Divine and her girlfriend at her condo.
After everything went down, it wasn’t hard to find out who was really getting money in Miami. Word had spread fast about Glory and his crew, but I didn’t want to get down with them niggas. I wanted to get it straight from the source. It surprised the fuck outta me when I found out that it was Divine who was holding, so I asked Glory to set up a meeting for us a few days ago, but she was in Cali. Now she was back and told Glory to give me the okay to come.
Hell, I couldn’t strip anymore with niggas out there wanting me dead. Pinky and I had to change locations and all because of that crazy ass shit that went down. And I for damn sure wasn’t about to get a job with this expensive ass lifestyle I was living. Pinky had Glory to take care of her after we left the club, but I had no one. So here I was, on the elevator preparing to kiss Divine’s ass. We’d never had any bad blood, so I was hoping it would go well.
I knocked on the door.
“Hold on,” I heard a voice say before the door flew open. It was some girl with long, curly hair, and colorful eyes. She had an attitude for no reason. This had to be Chola. Glory told me to pay her no mind.
“Is Divine here?” I asked.
“And you are?” she asked. Her accent was sexy and heavy.
“Move, Chola. That’s Milo, the one I told you about last night,” Divine said as she walked to the door to let me in.
“Ohhhhh, Milo. Hi.” Chola now had a wide smile on her face.
Now I see why everyone called her ass crazy. I walked past her and sat on the couch. My heart almost dropped when PJ ran and hopped into my lap. I missed him so much.
“So what’s up?” Divine asked, sitting across from me.
I looked over and saw Chola was in the kitchen cooking. I didn’t even feel comfortable kissing ass around her.
“Look, Divine, I know we don’t know each other… but I have to keep it real. If I don’t find some sort of cash flow soon, I’m going to be broke on my ass. I can’tgo back to the club and—” She cut me off.
“I understand. You don’t have to explain.”
