Standing under an arbor constructed for the wedding, along with the court magistrate who would perform the ceremony, the two grooms waited. Nothing prepared Brett for the site of Brandon, in his uniform, a chest of medals, and the biggest grin on his face she’d ever seen. They locked gazes and they shared a smile.
Next to Stephen, Brett’s father wore his ambassador’s suit, and looked so very handsome. Stephen had taken Jonathan to find suitable rings for the occasion, since he knew his mother’s taste. They found two matching rings in platinum, an Old Earth metal, very expensive, Lady Diane’s set with diamonds, and his was a plain wide band.
For Brett, the Duke had passed on his late wife’s blue sapphire ring for Stephen to present her. It was simple, elegant and she’d been speechless when Stephen had presented it to her.
Now she couldn’t wait to say her vows and put his ring on her finger. To belong to Stephen for the rest of her life.
The oaths were said, the rings were exchanged, and finally the two grooms were allowed to kiss their brides. For Brett, the kiss had been the sweetest yet, and when Stephen pulled away, she’d put her hand behind his neck and drew him in for another, deeper kiss.
With everyone, including the magistrate, laughing and in high spirits, the two grooms shook hands. Then Stephen kissed his mother on her cheek and Brett kissed her father and then Diane’s cheek. Duke Brandon, looking healed at last, kissed both Brett and Diane on the cheek and shook the men’s hands, giving Stephen a hard slap on the shoulder.
They returned to the house and sat down for dinner. Brett barely remembered the conversations around her, only that she and Stephen were married and he’d held her hand the entire time, as if he couldn’t bear to let her go, not even for a moment.
After dinner ended, the traditional toasts were made to the happy couples. As expected, the duke spoke of a new generation of Brandon’s to carry on the family’s lineage. Brett and Stephen had decided to wait before removing Brett’s implant and start their family, and they both refused to say a word about the issue.
At last, she and Stephen took their leave, raced down the steps to the waiting cab, and sped off to the hotel room Stephen had booked for the weekend. Stephen had to return to work, and they had agreed to put off the real honeymoon until his schedule cleared.
Neither of them wanted to waste a moment of their time together, so keeping their hands off each other in the cab felt like torture, at least for Brett. As for Stephen, the noticeable bulge in his uniform slacks gave him away.
Stephen had already checked in, so he had the key to the room. He opened the door and stepped inside. Brett couldn’t help but notice at least four huge bouquets of flowers, a chilled champagne bucket, and two fluted glasses. He’d even brought their bags in and unpacked.
Brett had nothing left to do but get out of her dress and into bed and from the look in Stephen’s eyes, it’s just what he had planned. He unbuttoned his jacket as he stalked toward her, gazes locked, determination burning in his eyes.
She gasped as he stood in front of her and ran his hands over her shoulders, down her arms and took her hands in his.
“You’re mine at last.” He bought each of her hands to his lips and kissed the backs, then turned them over and brushed his lips over her palms. “I will treasure you for as long as I live, Brett. I swear it”
Heat flared upward from her neck and flashed over her cheeks at his proclamation. Although she’d never dreamed of this, her heart soared, because it was exactly the way she felt too.
Brett kissed his hands, first one and then the other, and looked up into his eyes.
“Stephen, I had no idea when I came here I would find my life. I thought it was just another stop, another place to follow my father, not find my future.”
He kissed her, tender and sweet. “Brett. You’ve amazed me from the first moment I laid eyes on you. I knew then and there you had to be mine. And I’m so honored you thought me good enough to marry.”
“I think you’re more than good enough. I think you’re the only man for me. The only man I’ve ever loved.” She gave him what she hoped was a wicked grin. “Now, let me help you out of your uniform.”
She went to her knees, unbuckled his belt, and popped the button. Looking up at him, she unzipped his pants, each click click click signaling her intent.
She would be wicked, and wild and oh so very wanton.
Stephen groaned as she spread open his trousers, exposing his briefs. Black. She chuckled. “I see you dressed for me.”
He swallowed, the sound echoing in the room. “Yes, I…thought you’d like them. I understand they’re quite fashionable on Old Earth.”
“Why, yes, they are.” She ran her finger over the bulge of his erection and a small wet spot grew across the wide tip. She looked up at him, brought her finger to her mouth, opened, and sucked it.
Stephen gasped, rocking back on his heels. “Brett.” His voice trembled. “What are you going…”
“Make you a very happy husband.” Brett cocked an eyebrow at him. Then she hooked her fingers in the waistband of the briefs and pulled them down, freeing his straining cock.
She’d seen it many times before this night, but she’d never taken him in her mouth. She’d saved the intimate act for this one special night. A night she never wanted him to forget for as long as he lived.
Grasping the base of the shaft, she angled it forward and ran her tongue around the fat mushroom-shaped head. Stephen groaned. “Oh, damn, Brett.”
She smiled, her lips pressed to the cockhead. “I love you, husband.” She took him in her mouth and he cried out, burying his hand in her hair, caressing her.
“Brett. Oh God. Damn. So good.” He rocked back, his thighs shaking as she worked him, up and down his shaft. Tasting him like she’d never done before.
She’d saved this for herself also. Knowing him like this, his scent, the taste of his most intimate skin, the heft of his balls as she cupped them.
Brett wanted more and she was determined to know everything.
When she took him deep into her throat and swallowed, Stephen cried out, “Brett!” and shot his release.
At last, he’d given her every part of him and she’d accepted it.
Her future.

Diane and Jonathan left for her apartment to spend the night. They would leave for the honeymoon the next day, and spend a week in the south.
Diane had dismissed her maid for the evening, and they had the place all to themselves. She and Brett had gone shopping during the week for a new trousseau for her to wear. Their bags for the trip were packed and waited at the ambassador’s residence, ready to be sent ahead.
Jonathan watched as she turned down the lights and pulled a bottle of chilled champagne from her refrigerator. She nestled it down in a silver ice bucket, selected two crystal flutes from her shelf, and handed them to him. They brought the champagne and flutes into her bedroom and Jonathan managed to open the bottle without losing most of the golden bubbly liquid all over her carpet.
He poured their glasses full and then made his own toast to her. “To greed.”
They sipped and smiled.
He took Diane’s glass from her, placed it on the small table in front of the window, and took her in his arms.
“Now I’ve made an honest woman out of you, will you join me in bed, madam?” He winked at her.
“Thank you for rescuing my honor, sir, and yes, I would love to join you in bed.”
Diane turned her back to him and lifted her blonde hair so he could unfasten her gown. He slid the zipper slowly down, careful of the silk fabric, as he enjoyed watching her soft, pale skin appear underneath the material. When he reached the end, he slowly slid his hands over her shoulders and the gown fell to the floor, exposing her full slip in matching cream. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to him, caressing her breasts gently, as he kissed where her neck and shoulder met.
She sighed softly and turned in h
is arms to kiss him. As they kissed she slid his jacket off and let it drop. Then she unbuttoned his shirt and helped him remove it. They kissed again, and then she slipped away to change into her negligee.
While she undressed in the bathroom, he finished undressing and got into bed to wait for her. At first, he’d left his boxers on, then decided to take them off, so he hopped out of bed, tugged them down, and climbed back in and pulled the covers up to his waist.
“What do you think?” Diane stood in the doorway of the bathroom, in a very sheer black full-length negligee hugging her body and leaving very little to the imagination.
“It’s black!” Jonathan gasped, then as his body reacted, he gave her a wicked grin.
She sauntered toward the bed. “You didn’t think I was going to wear white, did you? We’re both too old for such pretense, don’t you think?”
He swallowed hard, lifting the sheets for her to slide in next to him. He turned the lights down to a soft glow and took her in his arms.
“Thank you,” he whispered. “For giving me back my heart, for giving me a second chance at a life spent with a wonderful, beautiful woman.” He kissed her.
“You’re welcome, but it’s you who took a chance on me.” She ran her fingers over his chest, playing them in the dark hair curling across it, to the scars on his shoulder. “Either way, we’re damn lucky to have found each other.”
“Indeed.” He nodded, then gasped as she lowered her mouth to his nipple and licked it. “Diane!” He groaned as her hand found his shaft, half-hard, and brought it fully to life.
“Now, I think much less talking, much more action.” She pulled him over to cover her body.
“As you command,” he replied, and marveled at his new life and his new family. Not bad for an old warhorse. Not bad at all.
