“Yes, I just had my physical the beginning of September and all blood work came back negative. I would say it’s been almost three years since Dez and I did anything sexual, so I know that the last three physicals were all the same.” Alex hated to think how long it had been and why she had stayed so long.
“You poor baby. Let me make it all up to you.” Sam started to kiss Alex along the neck and down her chest as she made her way south.
“Oh Goddess!” A jolt hit Alex as Sam slowly teased her clit.
Grabbing the pillow so she was sure Jessie wouldn’t hear her, Alex was in orgasm heaven as Sam just stimulated her enough for her to feel extreme pleasure, but not push her to a full orgasm. Sam was enjoying herself as she listened to Alex’s muffled moans. When Sam finally went all the way, Alex’s back arched and her pelvis contracted several times from the pleasure. Breathing like she’d run a mile, the throbbing continued for several more seconds as Sam kissed the inside of her thighs.
“Did you enjoy yourself, young lady?” Sam had laid a towel on the bed so she could wipe her face off before kissing Alex on the neck.
“Oh wow, did I.” The tears began to run down her cheeks at the sheer joy.
“Are you okay?” Sam could see the tears and wondered if she’d hurt her.
“Never better, lover. Give me a moment to catch my breath and then I get to please you and enjoy myself doing it.” Alex was ready to roll over on top of Sam and start her own exploratory journey south.
“Okay, but remember you have work tomorrow.” Sam knew Alex would be running on adrenaline alone.
“Trust me. After that orgasm you’ll be lucky if I stay awake long enough after I finish to say good night.” Alex’s heart rate was returning to normal as she whispered several plans into Sam’s ear.
Alex took maybe a minute longer than Sam, but the results were the same. Spooning Sam, she fell into a deep sleep and when her alarm did go off she was ready to go again. A cold shower would do the trick. She told Sam to sleep in since she hadn’t adjusted to the time change. She would make enough coffee for everyone and Cyn would be stopping by to pick her up. Heading for the bathroom, she could hear crickets coming from the guest room. Jessie had brought a sound machine to help muffle the sounds that she was sure would be coming from Alex’s room.
Cyn was right on time and the two talked in low voices so they wouldn’t wake anyone. Cyn wanted to know if her first official night with Sam in her bed was all Alex had hoped it would be. Alex just smiled and told her she hoped she and TJ experienced such fireworks someday.
As they headed for school, Alex asked Cyn if TJ had relayed what transpired between her and her father over the car tampering saga. Having been confronted with the facts, he confessed but had no idea it was such a stress on both Cyn and Alex. He never thought there could be other forces going on that would amplify the deed. He told TJ he would write an apology and send it the next day. Cyn told TJ to tell her father it wasn’t necessary, and that she was just glad it was over. Looking at the scenery, Alex knew she still needed to ask the other gay teachers at school if there had been any tampering or vandalism to any of their stuff around the middle of October.
“So, have you and TJ made any plans for this week or weekend?” Alex wanted to make sure Cyn had plenty to do while Jessie was here so she wouldn’t feel ignored by her.
“Well, we’re taking it slow and plan on talking a lot on the phone, and then this weekend we’re planning a hike/picnic, if it doesn’t rain. If it rains then we’ll have the picnic in my living room. Either way, I’ll see her this weekend.” Cyn was looking forward to her own little barbeque.
“That’s very cute. I like that plan. I was thinking of taking Sam to Ridgeside on Saturday. We can double another time.” Alex was glad to hear Cyn had plans. She wanted her first time out with Sam to be special with just the two of them, but didn’t want to exclude Cyn. Alex would need to give TJ a kiss for coming along when she did and, in a way, thank Roy for his part. Otherwise, Alex would be stressing, trying to make sure she kept two women happy. Even though it really wasn’t her responsibility to do so.
Pulling into Cyn’s parking space, Alex noticed the balloons were still on her name placard. She needed to take them down later when they went home. Today would be long, but this was how it was going to be until summer break when she and Sam could spend as much time with each other as possible. Tonight she would get her favorite dinner, enjoy the company of her best friend, and have a lover to curl up with at night. Life was about as good as it gets. Alex just hoped down deep inside that Sam felt the same way and then everything would be perfect.
For lunch, Alex looked at the salads. Today it would be cottage cheese and Jell-O. At least Ruby gave her an extra scoop of cottage cheese. Looking around for Bonnie or Lucy, Alex spotted the two of them eating together. They must have made up and hopefully were going to couples counseling. She told Cyn she needed to have a few words with the both of them and to enjoy her lunch with Frederick. She would be in as soon as she said her piece.
“Good afternoon, ladies.” Alex took the seat directly across from them.
“Hi, Alex. What brings you to our little table?” Lucy really hoped Alex hadn’t heard what was being said while she had been gone.
“First off, Bonnie, there was nothing going on between Lucy or Richard Greenway and myself. Secondly, Lucy, if you ever let a rumor like that go around when you know it isn’t true, I’ll report your actions to Mrs. Greenway. You can explain to her your reason for not denying it.” Alex was getting fired up all over again.
“I’m really sorry, Alex. I know it was totally out of line. I don’t have an excuse. I guess I just let it go to my head, feeling flattered that anyone would think you and I were seeing each other.” Lucy had gotten an ear full from their therapist about the same thing.
“Apology accepted. Now, are you two seeing a couples therapist?” Alex would tell them a thing or two if they weren’t.
“Yes, we are, and she pretty much told Lucy and I we were out of line.” Bonnie had also been told not to spread rumors, especially without some kind of proof other than her vivid imagination.
“Okay, that’s great to hear. Now, my next question is did anything weird happen to any of your stuff around the middle of October? Like were there flat tires on your bikes, or stuff missing from your yard or porch?” Alex couldn’t think of anything else that wouldn’t sound ominous.
Lucy and Bonnie looked at each other with puzzled expressions before Lucy spoke first.
“Well, come to think of it we both had two flat tires, but they only needed air. Then I remember all the plants had been taken down off the railing and put on the porch. Why do you ask?” Lucy had just chalked it up to one of the students pulling a prank.
“Well, Cyn had her rotor removed from her car, but whoever did it didn’t take it. It was an easy fix, like your tires needing air. Did you hear anyone confessing to pulling pranks back then?” Alex felt a little better that Cyn hadn’t been singled out.
“No, but then stuff like that happens every year. We don’t put much thought into it.” Lucy wondered why Alex had never been the victim of one of these pranks.
“Strange. Okay, but if you hear anything as to who could be responsible, would you let me know? Thanks.” Alex took her tray and headed for the back room to finish her lunch with Cyn and Frederick and let them in on the latest development.
As she entered the back room, Joey was moving boxes and making a lot of racket. She was looking for a particular pot and not having much luck finding it. The three decided to take their lunch and move outside so they could hear each other. Alex figured it was okay to tell what she had learned since Cyn hadn’t been singled out. Frederick noted little pranks like that happened every year and maybe it had nothing to do with Richard Greenway. But just maybe he was trying to throw his mother off the track, so it wouldn’t look like things were only happening to Alex. Maybe he messed with several other people for no other reason
than that. But they would never know for sure since no one, including his mother, knew where he went. That was something that hadn’t really bothered Alex before, but now since she had the dream telling her that not everything was as it should be, it did. Maybe Anna and Ramon were trying to tell her he was still around. Alex needed to remember what the raven meant when it came to fetishes and folklore. She would look it up when she got home, or possibly Jessie or Sam knew.
Chapter 28
The day finally ended and Alex was starving. It was probably a combination of wanting her tri-tip and more of Sam, but not necessarily in that order. Cyn let Alex off at the bottom of her driveway at her insistence. She needed a little exercise and this way Cyn could get on home and await a phone call from TJ. Walking up the driveway, Alex could smell the tri-tip. She wanted to run but it was a little steep to be running in flats. Sam walked out to meet her as she had been watching from the window. After a hug and a very long kiss they arrived on the front porch as Jessie was walking out.
“Hey, Darlin’, how was school today?” Jessie could tell by the smile on Alex’s face that she was in heaven now.
“Good. Too long, but then everyday will seem to be that way now that you two are here.” Giving Jessie a hug and a sisterly kiss, she kicked off her shoes and followed her in. “When do we eat? It smells divine!”
“Whenever you’re ready. I figured you would want to the minute you hit the door.” Jessie knew her friend and tri-tip.
“Oh, you are so right. Can I do anything to help?” Alex had her blazer off and was about to walk into the kitchen.
“Go change into your play clothes and she’ll have it on the table by the time we get back.” Sam had Alex by the shoulders and was pushing her backwards into their bedroom.
“Are you going to help me change, I hope?” Alex was smiling as Sam turned her into their room and closed the door.
“It was what I had in mind. But first….” Sam pulled Alex into a long passionate kiss that totally relaxed her from head to toe.
“Hmmm. Maybe I’m not that hungry for tri-tip after all.” Alex had her eyes closed as Sam was removing her clothes and nibbling on different parts of her neck and shoulders.
Suddenly Jessie knocked on the door and told them to hurry up and they could play doctor later, after they ate. They laughed. Alex raced to get into her other clothes, and then they ran to the table and sat down like little kids whose mom had just reprimanded them.
“That’s better. I don’t know what I’m going to do with you two. You’d think you never had girlfriends before.” Jessie was shaking her head as she put the platter of meat on the little table.
“Not one that’s this sexy.” Alex smiled as she held out her plate.
“You want me to serve you. Are you afraid to take what you want?” Jessie knew how much tri-tip this girl could eat.
“Exactly. I don’t want to get my hand slapped. So, would you do me a favor and give me as much as I can have. Please and thank you.” Alex could eat the whole thing if they let her.
“Brother. You can be such a pain at times, little girl.” Jessie placed almost half of the sliced pieces on Alex’s plate.
“Good grief, she can’t eat all that! Can she?” Sam was amazed at how much Jessie had given her.
“No problem. I’m a big carnivore of the starving kind.” Alex waited patiently as Jessie and Sam took their pieces. She counted to ten and then dug in. It was better than the prime rib at Ridgeside. She was in culinary heaven. “Mmmm. This is so good. I can’t believe I have my own tri-tip cooking expert to live with me the rest of my eating days.”
“Oh, it is better than mine all right. And now that I know the extra secret ingredients, Dawson will be in heaven too.” It was the one dish he always requested when Jessie had extra time for cooking dinner.
“Gosh Jessie, I would have told you if you’d asked. I didn’t know my father was so secretive about his recipe. I believe in sharing. Don’t you, Alex?” Sam looked at her, not expecting an answer, as she figured she hadn’t heard a word since she put that first bite in her mouth.
“What?” Alex looked at both women who had stopped talking and were waiting for a response from her. “Hey, I’m eating tri-tip. No fair asking questions until I’m finished.”
“See, this woman has a one track mind. But if you can get her attention there’s hope you can have a conversation while you eat.” Jessie had carried on many a conversation with herself in the past while having Alex over for tri-tip.
“She does seem to have a fixation on food, I’ve noticed it seems serious. Has she seen a doctor about it?” Sam was wondering if Alex was hearing what she was saying.
“All right Samantha, I have a fixation on you too.” Alex reached over and squeezed Sam’s leg just above the knee joint, causing her to flinch and laugh.
“Okay, we’ll let you devour your dinner in peace. What do you say Jess, another ten or fifteen seconds and she should be done?” Sam was amazed at how quickly the meat was disappearing.
“I think you’re about right. Then maybe she can have some salad too.” Jessie knew salad was only filler when the tritip ran out.
“There’s salad?” Alex tried to sound enthused but she only wanted tri-tip.
“Yeah, right, like you were looking forward to it.” Jessie shook her head as she smiled at her cousin and gave her a wink. Both of them loved this special woman in their own way.
“So what did you two do today? Did you hook up with TJ for lunch?” At least that was the plan Alex was aware of.
“Yes, we had a very nice lunch with TJ. She’s a real nice girl and smart, too. She has you all figured out, but she said she needs help with Cyn. Then we went to your friend, Carol’s hardware store and picked up a barbeque for you. We gave Cyn’s to TJ to return. I believe she said they were going to have a barbeque again tonight after she got off work. It seems you’ve started something there. Oh, plus your friend, Carol, gave us a deal on the barbeque something about teacher’s special pricing. I must say you must have charmed her as she talked about how great you are and how supportive you were of her son’s football team.” Jessie felt she needed to keep talking since Alex was still shoveling in the tri-tip.
“She seemed to know who I was. Did you tell her about us?” Sam decided to help her cousin out and get in a few words.
Alex shook her head yes and then swallowed so she could reply.
“Carol knows everything about everything pertaining to me and you and the whole Sally Jennings/Richard Greenway saga. Her husband, Bob, is the local judge who helped keep it quiet so Sally’s daughter could still go to Taylorwood and not have to deal with the talk. She’s the best. Her son, Jason, has his last football game this Friday that is if they lose. If they win, then on to the semi-finals. Would you like to go help me cheer the Hastings Lumberjacks on to victory?” Alex had been cutting her meat while she talked and now she could continue eating.
“I’d love to see a high school football game. I’ve never been to one. It will be a first for this kid.” Sam never took part in any extra curricular activities. She just went home and rode her paint pony.
“What did you do with your afternoons? Oh wait I know you either went and rode your horse or helped handle horses. Right?” Alex would have loved to have been able to do that.
“Absolutely. I ran home, changed clothes and no one saw me until they rang the dinner bell.” Sam loved her childhood and wouldn’t have traded it for anything.
Alex finally put the last bit of tri-tip in her mouth and laid her fork down. Reaching for the salad she took a small amount just to be appreciative of all of Jessie’s hard work.
“Not to change the subject, but I am. What does the raven mean in folklore or a fetish carving?” Alex knew it was a huge change of subject, but she wanted to know.
“Wow, that is a big change. Let me think, hmmm. I only remember it’s supposed to be a helpful guide through the darkest of times. Why do you ask?” Jessie knew a few things,
but not as much as her grandmother or Anna.
Alex told them her dream of the wolf cub playing and the father wolf not wanting her to leave, which turned out to be about TJ and her father. He was the one responsible for Cyn’s car troubles, being that he was trying to find someone for his daughter. But at the end of the dream there was this raven that flew out at her like an omen of something else that wasn’t connected to Cyn and her car. After she finished relaying her story she asked Jessie what was for dessert and was handed the platter with the last few pieces of tri-tip. Alex smiled, thanked her, and finished them off in no time. Sam remembered there was a website which listed all the definitions of fetishes. Alex wanted to look it up after they finished dinner.
When everyone was done Alex insisted on doing the dishes since she hadn’t contributed to the meal, except eating it all. Jessie let her have her wish and Sam offered to dry. As they cleaned up Sam pressed for more information on what Alex thought was going on. The only thing Alex could think the raven in the dream meant was, that possibly, Richard was still around watching her. Sam went into the guest bedroom and turned on the computer so it could be warming up. She could see Alex was trying to make light of the matter, but if Anna was trying to warn her, Sam knew she was taking it seriously. With the dishes done both women went in to do some raven research. The website Sam suggested was a wealth of information about fetish meanings. Looking up raven, they found out what it stood for.
The Raven is clever and represents magic and transformation. He is a messenger of great mystery and represents a change in consciousness. He helps guide us through the darkest of times.
“I think Anna is trying to tell me I’m not out of trouble just yet.” Alex let out a big sigh as Sam wrapped her arms around her.
“Okay, enough of this for tonight. Tomorrow we contact the Sheriff and find out if he knows of Richard’s whereabouts.” Sam could feel the tension in Alex’s body and she wanted her to get her mind on something else.
