Suspicion At Sea Page 19

by Nichols, Amie

“Sure, put me in there, I'll get the information out of them.” Justin beams at the thought of torturing the men who have made our lives hell.

“You and me both, brother,” Cody nods, also seeming to be chomping at the bit at the chance. Can't lie, I wouldn't mind it either.

“So many lines have been crossed, we are trying to keep this as by-the-book as we can,” Denny answers.

“Fuck that, we need answers and they have them,” Justin spits.

“Trust me, I agree with you.” Denny stops when there is a knock on the door.

  Chapter 54

  Justin

  “Yeah,” Denny says.

In walks a tall, skinny, awkward looking young kid. Or at least he looks like he is really young, early twenties at most.

“Tommy.” Ellie jumps up all excited and runs around the table, throwing her arms around his skinny, little waist. The boy towers over her.

“You have no idea how good it is to see you. I was worried sick about you, gorgeous,” Tommy says, enjoying the hug. He is getting a little too much for my taste. Jesus, Justin! How can I be jealous of this string bean?

“Tommy worked nonstop until he found you guys,” Denny says, after Ellie lets go of him.

“You found us?” Ellie strains her neck to see Tommy's face, and he is blushing.

“I will always find you,” he says. The boy is love sick. When he puts his hand on her cheek that's when I've had enough.

“I guess I owe you a thank you, too, then.” I jump up. I don't intimidate him at all, he doesn't move his hand from her face as I walk around the table. I know he knows who I am, and he doesn't seem to care. I hold out my hand so he has to let go of Ellie to shake it.

“Thanks, brother,” Cody joins in, slapping Tommy on the back. He doesn't give a shit about either of us. He can't keep his eyes off Ellie. I can't blame him, I guess, she is breathtaking. She's beautiful and she's mine. I don't care who he is, he needs to keep his hands off her.

“Tommy's going to get started on the warehouse computer, hopefully we can find something that tells us where the gold was supposed to be delivered. We think there is another high ranking key player we don't know of.”

“As you know, nothing on a computer is ever truly deleted,” Tommy says, and we all make our way back to our seats, Tommy sitting opposite Ellie.

“You're not seriously jealous of the bean pole are you?” Cody leans over, whispering to me with a low chuckle. I just shrug, ignoring the comment.

“Obviously we know there are others looking for the gold, as poor Suzy just found out,” Denny adds.

“How much would that much gold weigh?”

“We’re guessing between one and a half to two tons,” Denny answers Cody’s question.

“What can we do?” I ask.

“You know Bailey Island and the islands around it more than anyone. We are still trying to decipher the maps on Jade's computer, but we would like you to go on a treasure hunt. We are hoping that finding it might lead us to where the brothers are and who else is involved,” Denny explains.

“Why would they risk it?” Ellie inquires.

“This is their largest payday, what they've risked everything for. And now that we have Fausto in custody, it's their last payday.

“Yeah, but they have to know we are onto them. Why wouldn't they lay low for a while?” Cody challenges.

“Either way, we want that gold.”

“Are we thinking the brothers are still alive?” Ellie says when the room goes silent again.

“Maybe staged the whole thing? Hide the gold, stage their own death,” Cody thinks out loud.

“I don't think they smart enough for that, although, they were treasure hunters before they got into the lobster business,” I recall. They never found shit, but were always bragging about how they were so close to the big find. “Max McGill had a knack for reading maps, one of the only things he was good at actually.” My mind starts wondering as to where around the island they could hide something that big.

“How big would that much gold be?” I question Denny.

“A large truck load, give or take. Do you have any thoughts,” Denny perks up.

“Not yet, but I know I won't find it hanging around here. We need to get back to the island.” I'm suddenly very anxious to leave. If Jade is still alive, nothing would make me happier than finding his gold.

  Chapter 55

  Ellie

Justin and I head back to Bailey Island. Cody, Tommy, and Denny are also coming. They're going to stay at a small hotel in town. They will set up operations there, and we agree to meet that morning.

Before leaving Augusta, Justin and I stop at a mall so I can buy some clothes. All my stuff is still at the cabin and neither of us want to go back there right now.

I leave the store wearing a new jean skirt, V-neck tee, and new bra and panties leaving the too tight jeans and over-sized sweatshirt in the dressing room. Justin carries bags full of new clothes for me with a huge smile on his face, watching me intently as I search through racks of clothes.

After I have enough clothes for a whole new wardrobe, we leave Augusta in an FBI black SUV.

On the way back to Bailey Island, Justin calls Suzy and basically orders her to go stay with her friend who lives in upstate Maine. She doesn't argue too hard with him. I know that Suzy being out of town will give Justin one less thing to worry about. It's pretty obvious she is clueless and would be no help whatsoever to us.

Justin and I grab a pizza to eat back on the boat. Going down in the galley, I get a pit in my stomach. The last time we were in this room I told him everything and he ran out on me.

“Hey,” he says, laying the pizza box on the table and engulfing me in his arms. “Never will I leave you again. Never.” He holds me tight to his chest and I breathe in his scent. He gives me instant comfort.

“Maybe we should make some better memories in this room.” He kisses the top of my head, and I can hear the excitement in his tone as his hands travel down my back to my ass, pulling me into him, his erection hard against my belly.

“God, yes. Please, baby,” I moan, stretching my neck up to see him.

It takes no time for his lips to be on mine, forcing his tongue into my mouth, owning me. Our lips frantic on each other, he lifts me up onto the counter. His hands travel up my thighs and under the jean skirt I'm wearing.

“God, you are so wet,” he groans against my lips when he pushes my panties to one side. Slipping a finger inside me, he moves it in and out slowly as he kisses down my neck.

My pelvis grinds into his hand as I pull him closer to me. My fingers grab at his shirt, pulling on it to get it off him. He grabs the back and pulls it over his head, throwing it to the side.

My nails scratch down his back, rippling over his tight muscles. His thumb rubs my sensitive swollen clit as his fingers move in and out of me.

“Oh my God, I need you in me now,” I groan into his ear, my whole body trembling with desire.

“You are so beautiful, babes,” he moans, ripping at my shirt. Getting it over my head, he cups my breasts through the lacy bra as his lips kiss the swell that is exposed. My fingers fist his hair as his hand goes down between us, unzipping his jeans.

I wrap my legs around his waist as he slams into me.

“Fuck,” I scream. His lips go to my neck as his arms slide under my thighs, holding my legs even higher. I have to wrap my arm around his shoulders to keep from falling back. Pressing our half naked bodies together, he thrusts into me.

“You feel so good,” he moans under his breath, his lips against my neck.

“Yes, oh my God, yes,” I cry, as I can't get enough of him. I start to slip off the tiny galley counter. All my weight being supported only by Justin and the death grip my arms have around his neck and shoulders.

He doesn't seem to notice, his head buried in my neck as he fucks me so hard and deep.

“God, Justin, I'm coming,” I scream as I feel my insides p
ulsing against the shaft of his cock. My eyes uncontrollably roll to the back of my head, the pleasure so great.

“Give it up for me, gorgeous, come all over my cock,” he growls in my ear. My legs hooked in his arms, every thrust makes me slam onto him harder.

“Oh fuck,” he yells. I feel his cum spurt into me making my orgasm prolonged even more.

He holds me like that, still in me, my arms holding on tight. He takes the steps with me, carrying me to the bedroom.

He sits on the bed with me straddling his lap, now being able to move his arms. He's still hard inside me, when he takes my face in his hands.

“You are so amazing,” he breathes, kissing my lips.

We are so physical with each other as we roll around on the bed, each fighting to be on top. Both of us needing the other more, not able to get enough of him, nor him me.

  Hands, lips, bodies touching everywhere.

Our clothes completely gone, thrown throughout the room. The covers on the bed a mess and our bodies sweaty. When we have fucked each other into exhaustion, I lay in his arms.

My stomach growls making him laugh.

“Oh yeah, we have pizza.” He chuckles, getting up. I watch his sexy buck naked ass disappear from the room. He returns moments later with the now very cold pizza.

Setting the box down, he lays on his side facing me, my head propped up on my elbow. Opening the box, he holds a slice out for me to take a bite. I'm so hungry that even cold pizza tastes good.

“Pizza and a gorgeous naked woman in bed, God, what could be better?” He smiles, taking a bite of the slice.

He gives me the half eaten slice and grabs another one.

“You have that determined look on your face.” He studies me as I chew.

“Just thinking about the crack in The Sweet Suzy,” I tell him what's on my mind after I've swallowed.

“Okay, what about the crack?” He's intrigued, finishing off his slice and grabbing another. I'm still eating the crust of the first slice.

“How would that happen? How would a boat get a crack in it?” I ask, licking my fingertips after I finish.

  “It hit something,” he answers.

“But what, what could it have hit to make that crack?”

“Rocks.” His eyes shift away from me as he starts to think about it.

“How would a man who has lived his whole life on a boat be stupid enough to hit a rock so big that it cracked the hull?”

“Trying to get too close to the shore to unload something big. Like maybe a butt load of gold.”

“You've been to all the islands around here, which ones would have a rocky shore but be big enough to hide gold?” I ask, pulling a blanket over my shoulders and getting a disappointed look from Justin.

“I was enjoying the view.” He pouts after I cover myself up.

“I'm cold.” I laugh at his cute pouty lip.

Taking the pizza box that's between us and tossing it on the floor, he snakes under the blanket so our naked bodies are pressed together.

“My job to keep you warm, not some blanket.” He smiles wickedly, kissing the apple of my cheek. “We sleep now, treasure hunt tomorrow,” he orders, pulling me in tighter. It's hard to argue because I am very tired.

  Chapter 56

  Justin

Ellie falls asleep right away in my arms, and I start to think. Could they have hidden the gold somewhere in the Broad Sound? There are so many islands littered throughout. It would take forever to search them all. I've explored most of them, and not that many are boat accessible. It's possible they tried to get too close and hit a rocky out cropping.

“Idiots,” I think to myself, pulling Ellie tighter against me and drifting off to sleep.

“Justin.” I hear her sweet voice that sounds panicked and I shoot up in bed.

“What?” I'm instantly on guard then freak when I see Ellie is covered in blood. Grabbing her, I search her body for a wound.

“Your wrist,” she says, trying to grab my hand seeing that the white bandage is soaked red and there is blood everywhere. “Calm down, you need to get your heart rate down,” she orders firmly, scrambling from the bed to get her purse. Her body is streaked in my blood.

She climbs back on the bed, digging in her bag. Ripping the old bandage off, she quickly dabs on some of the quick clot the paramedic gave her.

“Damn,” she says, as the dripping wound clots and stops bleeding. Not only is she covered in blood, but the sheets are also. “Fuck, baby, maybe we should take you to a doctor. If I hadn't woken up you could have bled to death,” she says with fear in her eyes. I think that is a little over dramatic, but I can see how frightened she is. Waking up covered in blood, not a great way to start the day.

“It's fine, I will just have to make sure to keep a better eye on it,” I tell her with a big smile to get her to calm down.

We go into the bathroom to clean up, watching her wash herself with the washcloth makes me instantly erect. She turns to me next, running the cloth under the hot water then rubbing my skin clean. She ignores my hard on like it's invisible.

She heads back to the bedroom and the first thing she does is go into one of my drawers, pulling one of my t-shirts and throwing it over her head. It goes down past her ass, completely covering her.

“Hey,” I shout softly, as she starts ripping the sheets and the mattress pad of the bed.

“What?” she looks over her shoulder innocently at me leaning up against the bathroom door, watching her.

“Do you honestly think that you putting on that t-shirt is going to make you any less sexy?” I smirk.

“I don't think you need any heart pumping exercise at the moment,” she chuckles under her breath and grabs some blankets from the closet. She throws down a soft blanket and points for me to get in bed. I lay down, like I've just been ordered to. She takes pillows, propping my arm up so it is elevated.

She throws a sheet over me, and I can't help but laugh. My soldier has pitched a very noticeable tent in the sheet. She turns away from me to hide her amusement.

Laying a heavy blanket over the sheet, she crawls in bed on the other side of me.

“Not fair, you can hide your excitement,” I go to take my arm off the pillows she propped up. Faster than me, she takes my hand and forces it back on the pillows.

“Justin, right now I am not excited. I woke up just thirty minutes ago covered in your blood. Not to mention I was dreaming that you had just been shot.” She looks up at me, her eyes serious.

“I'm sorry.” I see now that she was truly scared. I can understand, I was too when I woke and saw all the blood. I thought it was coming from her.

“Please, just get a few more hours rest,” she pleads with me. I give in, wanting to please her. I kiss her forehead and rest my cheek against the top of her head and we fall back to sleep.

We meet the boys the next morning at the hotel. When we walk in we see they have set up quite the command center. Computers line a couple of fold up tables and there are pictures of the brothers, Victor, and one of a man with the name Carl Parson written underneath, hanging on a large whiteboard. And one of Bill Pelletier, Mary's oldest boy, whom I haven't seen for years. There's also a picture of Suzy, Jim Dobbs, Sebastian—the man Fausto killed in the warehouse—Tammy and Jake Coons, and a few other names and faces I don't recognize.

Cody is studying the wall and flipping through some papers.

“So what have we learned so far,” Ellie says, standing next to Tommy who is typing away on a laptop.

“Honestly, not a lot. There are tons of nautical maps on this computer,” Tommy answers, shaking his head. “As far as I can tell, some have been altered to not be geographically correct.” He stops typing and puts his arm around Ellie's waist pulling her in for a side hug. Little fucker is pushing it with me.

“Ahem,” I clear my throat loudly, and Tommy drops his arm. I get a what-the-fuck look from Ellie, but I just shrug. Not going to apologize for not wanting someone to have their
hands on my girl.

“I think you should start questioning, starting with Mary McGill,” I announce. “If there is one thing I know, it's that the boys told their mom everything. More than likely she knows about the gold.”

“It can't hurt.” Ellie turns to Cody. “You won't come?” She gives me a questioning look.

“Trust me, Mary McGill is not a fan of my sister or me. She wouldn't say a word in front of me, but if she thinks it will help find her boys...that is, if she doesn't already know where they are. There is a good chance she would talk to the FBI.

“True, plus we need to question Tammy and Jake Coons,” Ellie adds. “They know something, especially with how they were going on and on about inheriting money.”

“I'm ready, been stuck inside too long. Let's go.” Cody motions for Ellie and she gives me a quick kiss. The pair are off, leaving me with Tommy and Denny, who has been on the phone the whole time. Maybe now would be a good time to get to know Tommy better. I sit down next to him and feel him tense up.

“Show me these maps.” I slap my hand down on his shoulder with an evil grin.

  Chapter 57

  Ellie

“He's a good guy,” Cody says out of the blue on our way to Mary McGill's house.

“He is.” I nod with a smile.

“Can't believe he's jealous of Tommy though,” Cody sniggers under his breath.

“Why? Tommy is an amazing man.” I turn, questioning my friend.

“Not exactly your type.” He laughs at my questioning.

“I never knew I had a type until I met Justin.”

“True.” Cody nods pulling up a driveway.

When we see the tiny house I'm shocked at its state of disarray. It looks like a shack that could blow over with the slightest breeze.

We walk up the steps and I glance at Cody who is thinking the same thing as me. Knocking on the ripped screen door we hear grumbling, and I'm not sure if it is a man or woman. According to our records, Mary McGill is a widow and not living with anyone. We are answered soon when a short, large woman wearing a dirty house coat comes to the door with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. She is using a walker for support.
