“Grandmaster Korshalem, as I have said before, there is not a single necromancer among my number. Prove otherwise and I will deal with them, but we both know that you cannot do so,” I said.
“Then this discussion is over. You will remove anyone you have left in my realm. From this point onward, anyone from this realm found in Korshalemia will be killed on sight. Any attempt to cross the boundary will be met with deadly force,” he said, then quickly created a gate and left.
Mantis looked back at us, sighed, and followed Grandmaster Korshalem through the gate. As he closed it behind him, I wondered if I would ever see him again.
“Well, that went well,” commented Henrick.
“He has been wishing to do that for a long time now. I was hoping that it could be prevented but, alas, what he really wants is for this realm to be under his jurisdiction, and that is not going to happen on my watch,” I said.
Henrick smiled. “No, I think not. Now, if you will excuse me, I have some people to retrieve from his realm before he finds them.”
“Certainly,” I said.
He bowed slightly and then vanished.
“I am so sorry, Grandmaster,” said Dusty.
“No, Dusty, this had nothing to do with you,” I said. “It is as I said: they want only one Wizard Council to rule all realms. They do not understand that the way life works on their single planet does not necessarily hold true for the rest of creation.”
“Will this mean war?” asked Shadow.
“It might,” I said. “But that is a problem for another day. Now we must get ready for the party that the Cathratinairians are hosting to thank us for their new home and honor Karath for his service.”
