“An endless pool?” She frowned not sure what he meant.
“You know, the kind where the water moves and you can swim, like you’re doing laps, but never hit the end or have to turn.”
“Oh.” She’d heard about those, but had never seen one. She wasn’t used to people having outdoor pools. It was just too cold most of the time. Some may have had these endless pools he was talking about, but she wouldn’t know. It’s not something she would have been invited to use. “I’ll have to check it out, but I’m afraid I don’t have a suit with me.”
“How long until they send the rest of your things?” Justin frowned as he picked up his fork.
“I’m not sure. They said it wouldn’t be long. I hope they show up soon. I think I have something I can wear to the party.”
“You can buy something new.” He watched her as she took her first bite. “I’m not saying spend like I’m made of money, but it’s a special event, there’s no reason you can’t have a new dress.”
Hannah looked down at her plate and didn’t tell him in the last six months she’d gotten used to making due with as little as possible. “What do you plan to wear?” She shifted the attention off her clothes and onto his.
“I have several suits, even a tux. I thought I’d let you choose what would be most appropriate.”
She was quiet for several moments, eating and thinking. He wanted to throw a big party to announce their marriage, she had no problem with that. But it needed a little more, something to make the two of them look spectacular. Not that Justin wasn’t heart-stoppingly gorgeous to begin with, but she wanted to at least measure up. Let’s face it, if she’d been as stunningly beautiful as she felt in his arms, then she wouldn’t have needed to turn to the Diamond Bridal Agency to find a husband.
“Let me think about that.” The idea of buying a dress for the party hadn’t crossed her mind, but now that he’d brought it up, all she could think about was how much time it would take to shop for something appropriate and there was no way she could have anything custom made, much less designed for the event. Not in only a few days. Unless… “I’ll see what I can come up with.” She wasn’t going to say anything, not until she made a few calls, but she might be able to arrange for someone to come to her, or at least to the casino with dresses, instead of her having to go out searching for them. That would help with her limited time. Now what could she do to make them coordinate, but not look like a cake topper come to life. “Shit,” she muttered in between bites.
“What?”
“I just realized that if this is supposed to be a wedding reception then we need wedding cake. I don’t know where I can get something appropriate so quickly.”
“Check with the kitchens, they do cakes for the chapel here, they may be able to help. If not, we have several well-known bakers and decorators in town.”
Hannah shook her head, trying to figure out exactly how much time and how she would work around the kind of lead time most bakeries needed for a cake on that scale. She went to his desk and looked at the almost empty surface, then glanced up at him.
“Where will I find a pen and paper? I want to make some notes before I forget them.”
“Top right-hand drawer.”
She opened the drawer, found what she was after and took them back to the table. Justin watched her without a word as she took notes while she continued to eat.
“I’m sorry,” she said after a little while. “I just have so much to do, and I don’t want to forget anything.”
“That’s all right. I’m glad to see you involved.”
She looked at him a moment and wondered if she should ask him to shave for the reception but decided not to. She liked the neatly trimmed scruff of a beard he wore. Not only did the look seem to fit him, she loved what it felt like when he rubbed it along her skin. Especially the insides of her thighs. Her face heated.
“What’s that about?” Justin tilted his head to one side and a curious light filled his eyes.
“I was just thinking.” She didn’t want to admit what exactly she’d been thinking about.
“About?”
“Whether or not I should ask you to shave.” She tried to get him to drop it by telling him as little as possible. It didn’t seem to be working.
“Why do I think that wasn’t all you that was on your mind?”
Her face got even hotter. She wasn’t used to talking about these things. Why did he have to push? Why did he have to know?
“Um.” She looked out the big glass window at the replica of the Eiffel Tower and wondered for a moment what the next thing they’d recreate in Vegas would be. “Maybe because it wasn’t.” Her gaze fell to her plate, which was a little under half full. She wasn’t hungry anymore, but it tasted so good she took another bite, then pushed it away so she wouldn’t keep eating. When she looked up she found Justin still watching her an amused smile crinkling the corners of his eyes.
“I bet I can guess what you’ve been thinking about?”
“You probably can, but I’m not sure this is the place to talk about it.”
“Why not?”
“It’s you’re office.” She motioned to the desk and then the sofa and chairs. “Anyone could come in at any time.”
“They could, but Garrett is good, he won’t let anyone in without warning us.” He gave a little shake of his head. “Besides, the risk of being caught adds to it. Trust me.”
“I’ll have to take your word for it because I will not be testing that theory.”
“If you insist.” He held his hands up as if proving he was unarmed. “I won’t force you, I just thought you might be interested in a quickie.”
“That I wouldn’t say no to.” She glanced around the room, but couldn’t shake the fear someone would walk in and catch them in the act. A fine shudder passed through her. “But not here.”
Justin’s smile faded. “I’d take you across the hall, but I’m short on time and if I take you home, I’m going to take my time with you.” The look on his face made her squirm in her seat as heat pooled low in her belly. She wished he had the time, and she didn’t have so much to do.
The phone on the desk rang, startling her. It stopped after a single ring and a voice was amplified through the room. It only took Hannah a few seconds to realize it was Garrett.
“Sir, your next appointment is here. Also, you have that conference call in twenty-five minutes.”
“Thank you,” Justin said in the direction of the desk. The phone beeped then went silent.
“That’s my cue.” Hannah folded the napkin she’d spread across her lap and set it on the table. “I should let you get to your meeting. I have plenty that needs my attention.” She stood. Before she could take even a single step, Justin stood as well.
“As much as I hate to admit it, I do have things to do.” He moved close and hooked one arm around her waist. “I’ll should finish about five-thirty. How about dinner in the steakhouse downstairs?”
Hannah liked the feel of his body against hers, the heat of him seeping through their clothes. “I’d like that.” She glanced down at the table and seeing the notebook she’d been making notes on, picked it up. “Dinner then?”
“Dinner.” Justin leaned close and Hannah’s heart sped. He brushed a soft kiss against her lips. “That’s a promise for later. I intend to make good on it when we have time.”
“I’ll take it.” She glanced down at the table again, then took the notebook in her hand as she went to the door. She stopped and looked back at him a moment, wondering what he was thinking, then opened the door and went back down the hall to the conference room to get back to work.
Chapter Eleven
Justin sat behind his desk, a pair of ear buds in his ears as he listened to the man talk on the other and of the line. He muted the phone and sighed. Sometimes he hated dealing with negotiations, it wasn’t the back and forth that got him, it was the listening to people ramble on about reasons they thought the price should be higher, bu
t Justin knew something they didn’t yet realize. Something that usually got him what he was after — a better price.
He checked his watch and yawned. It was almost midnight and he’d hated leaving Hannah for this, but when you did business on a global scale, sometimes you had to deal with people in other time zones. Since Justin hated having to trust someone else with negotiations, that meant meetings at odd hours.
“The property is prime, very popular.” The man on the other end of the line was saying. The office door opened. Justin looked up in time to see Hannah’s head pop in the door. He hit the button on the phone and spoke.
“I get that ocean front property is popular, but this is not easily accessible.” Justin waved her in while he talked to the other man. His breath caught in his throat at what she was wearing, or rather, wasn’t wearing. She had on a tiny red lace teddy that showed more than it hid.
He shifted in his seat as his dick hardened. Over the teddy she had on a long white wrapper that was so sheer there was no way it was meant for anything but decorating what he thought of as her already stunning body.
“Mr. Scarborough?”
“Um, yes.” He shook his head and tried to remember what he was saying. “As I said, the property is not easily accessible, it is going to cost me a considerable amount to import materials, not to mention the workmen to develop.” He continued to list reasons he wasn’t willing to pay the price the other man was asking, while stealing glances at Hannah. She was up to something. He suspected he might enjoy it, but what would it cost him?
The other man started speaking again, but it was just sound in his ear as Justin watched his wife, those words still felt a little alien to him, his wife. She advanced across the room, taking slow deliberate steps, almost stalking toward him as if she were a huntress and he her prey. She stalked across the room and the voice in his ear prattled on, forgotten.
Over the last several days, they had settled into a comfortable routine, they got up every morning, dressed and ate, then crossed the hall together to get busy. At lunch she joined him here to eat, but he’d yet to convince her to risk a quickie in the office, then they’d separate and each deal with their own business until the end of the day when they spent the evenings together, doing different things. Sometimes they spent time in the gym, sometimes they went out on the town. Justin didn’t care what they did as long as they were together. He’d discovered that not only did he not care what they were doing, he found he enjoyed things he might not have otherwise, simply because he enjoyed watching her enjoy it.
“Mr. Scarborough?” the voice echoed in his ear.
“Yes, I’m sorry, what was that again?” he tried to concentrate, but Hannah peeled off the diaphanous wrapper and let it fall to the ground. He couldn’t help but notice how she’d stopped hiding her body from him and instead strutted it, showing it off for him. He smiled as she came closer, held one finger over her lips then knelt.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Dervishi.” He didn’t wait for the other man to answer. “An emergency has come up here that needs my attention. I’ll have to call you back. I’ll be in touch.” He didn’t wait for an answer before hitting the button on the cord to his ear buds to disconnect the call, then tugging them free of his ears. He glanced at the phone to make sure it had disconnected, then tossed the ear pieces on the desk and gave Hannah his full attention.
“You were supposed to stay on the phone.” Her voice was soft and husky and made his cock throb. He was glad he was wearing a loose pair of running shorts instead of jeans or slacks. He had more room.
“I don’t think that would have worked.”
“But you said the risk of being caught is half the fun.” She reached out and caught the hem of his shorts, his hand brushing the skin on his thigh as she tugged at the lightweight fabric. They’d done some swimming earlier and he’d changed, but kept something comfortable on when he’d come to make the call, putting on only a white button down shirt in case Dervishi wanted a video conference instead of voice.
“Caught is one thing, screwing up a deal is another.” He lifted his hips and let her tug his shorts down. His dick popped free and bobbed as he sank back down against the leather of his desk chair.
Hannah moved closer. Her hand wrapped around his erection and squeezed while her gaze never left his face. “I thought it would be fun to play a little while you finished your call.”
“We can play all you want.” He resisted the urge to pull her up, bend her over the desk and screw her senseless. He had an idea of what she had in mind and wanted to see if she had enough nerve to go through with it. Not just here in his office, but at all. She’d been so horrified when he’d first used his mouth on her it had amused him a little. He’d seen her looking at him with curiosity, but had been waiting for her to decide on her own if she was interested in doing the same to him. It looked like she might be ready. He wasn’t doing anything to endanger that. His dick throbbed in her hand.
Her tongue peeked out as she licked her lips and he almost came right there. He felt like a green kid having his first time. Where the hell had his control gone? Her gaze dropped and she looked at his cock sticking out of the top of her hand. Her eyes grew a little wide, but her surprised look quickly passed behind what he’d come to recognize as her determined look. Her head dipped slowly. After a moment he felt it, tentative licks with her soft, pink tongue around the head, her soft lips kissing the tip. His fingers ached to bury themselves in her hair, to cup the back of her head and urge her mouth down over his aching rod. To feel that hot, wetness all the way down.
Instead, he gripped the arms of his chair and tipped his head back while he let her go at her own speed. After several long licks up the length of his manhood, she sucked the tip into her mouth, sinking slowly. Justin groaned as the tip of his cock hit the back of her throat. She pulled back, the edge of her teeth scraped along his sensitive skin and sent shivers up his spine. He wasn’t going to last much longer. She gazed up at him through the fringe of her lashes. The look was so enticing, so sexy he almost lost it right there. His fingers tightened on the chair until he was afraid he would break it. He should stop her, but he couldn’t. He held back as long as he could.
“I’m going to come,” he warned her. He’d never known a woman willing to let him come in their mouth, no matter how sexy the idea was, so he’d learned better.
Hannah looked at him and lowered her mouth farther over his erection, pushing him deeper into her throat. As her throat convulsed around him, he lost the last strangle hold on his control, and exploded down her throat. Her fingers dug into his thighs as she remained still until he finished and relaxed back against the chair. After a moment she pulled away and before smiling up at him, satisfied with herself.
It took him a moment to regain the ability to think, then knew it was his turn. He stood, briefly considered pulling up his shorts then dismissed it and kicked them aside. He pulled her to her feet and kissed her hard, tasting himself on her.
Chapter Twelve
Hannah’s heart raced. She couldn’t help but feel triumphant that she’d gotten him to lose control so quickly. After the way he’d made her feel, she decided she needed to return the favor. For that she’d needed to do some research, that had taken her several days of furtive reading and stolen moments, but it had paid off. She sat back on her heels and watched as he made his way to his feet. He kicked away the shorts he’d had on, reached down and pulled her to her feet. He kissed her, hard. Hannah leaned into him, enjoying his touch.
She’d been scandalized when she’d first spotted the lingerie she was wearing. What was the point? It hid nothing. Now she realized that was exactly the point. And if his reaction was anything to judge by, Justin certainly approved. His hands brushed over her skin gliding in some places that had been left bare by her outfit, obscured by places covered by the open lace. He pulled her against him and she reveled in the varied sensation of his shirt and nakedness below it pressing against her. His hands roamed, and he guided
her somewhere but she was too caught up in his kiss to care where they were going.
Until he stopped and opened the door out to the balcony.
“We can’t go out there.” She stopped at the door.
He stepped out, uncaring that he wore only a button-down shirt, open at the collar.
“Why not?”
“Because someone might see.”
“Really? At midnight, more than three hundred feet off the ground and the only people on the top floor, who exactly is going to see us?”
He had a point. It was dark, and as tiny as people on the ground appeared when she looked down she knew no one would know what they were seeing. Besides the lights in the office were on, but dim, it was unlikely anyone could see them even if they had been on the same level. She took a tentative step. The breeze was chilly, causing her to shiver and her nipples to harden.
“Come here.” Justin stood against the clear glass railing that was a little over waist high with one hand extended toward her. As she approached, she took his hand and let him pull her up to the railing beside him. Her waist hit the glass and she shivered again. With little to nothing between it and her, it was cold.
Justin stepped around behind her, his arms wrapping around her and offering her some of his warmth. He kissed her neck and nuzzled the sensitive spot behind her ear. A shudder passed through her that had nothing to do with the cold. She tilted her head to give him better access to her neck and his hands cupped her breasts.
“Just think, what if someone could see you. What would they see?” his voice whispered across her skin, barely louder than the sound of her own heartbeat. His hand skimmed up her thigh and she closed her eyes. She had an idea what was coming and she didn’t want to stop him. She wanted it. To experience the thrill he had promised it would be.
“Oh!” she cried out as he filled her, then bit her lip as she tried to keep from making too much noise.
Later, when they’d both reached satisfaction, she stood gasping and clutching the railing as she tried to remember how to stand on her own. He bent and hooked the g-string she’d been wearing and tugged.
