Bearing It All (Alpha Werebear Shifter Paranormal Romance) Page 22

by Lynn Red

“I can’t... keep going,” I whispered. “So close,” my breath hitched in my chest. Fire snaked up my back and through me, radiating out from my core and making my fingers and toes all curl up. “I’m so close.”

“Me... too,” he said. “Just... yes...”

We moved together, him inside me, back and forth, wild thrusts coming one after another. On my sides I felt the hair on his arms grow longer. He leaned over, slamming into me, rubbing my face and my chest against the couch as the hair on his chest got longer and he groaned.

“So... close!” he was almost shouting.

Another angry thumping on the ceiling told me that Mrs. Whipplebottom was really not very impressed with us, but by that point I didn’t care.

My spirit was soaring, my eyes were fluttering, and every muscle in my body was going tight and loose, tight and loose, in time with the breaths I took.

  “Now,” Ash groaned. “I can’t hold it, I can’t...”

At the very last second, I pushed back against him. He stopped moving completely and I wiggled away. “I want to watch your face,” I said. “Seems like you told me that once.”

A smile crossed Ash’s face as I pushed him back on the floor and climbed on top, guiding him inside.

One thrust, then another, and I was facing the edge. The tension between my legs, the tightness in my chest, was almost too much to handle.

“Violet,” he said, looking up into my eyes. “I love you.”

“I... love... you,” I said back, then closed my eyes and let the waves overwhelm me.

From deep inside my body, inside my soul, warmth pushed out in every direction. My muscles all went tight and clenched, and then as I felt him swell inside me, my whole body relaxed at the same time.

  Shudders gripped me.

Trembling, intense pleasure held me tight, and then before I knew it, I fell forward and Ash’s arms were around me.

“That’s it, beautiful,” he said. “Let me see that perfect face. Let me watch your gorgeous eyes.”

I opened my eyes and forced myself to look one last time before my climax overwhelmed me. Ash’s gorgeous brown eyes had taken on a golden-yellow hue as the hair sprouting out of his arms got thicker and harder.

“You bring it out in me,” he groaned, leaning his head back against the floor and clenching his jaws. “You and... no one... else.”

“You and me,” I said, as I careened off the edge and white heat blinded me. “You and me forever?”

“Forever,” Ash said, clutching me against him and letting the waves of climax course through the both of us. “Forever.”

The explosion between us – inside me – was more than I ever imagined, more than I ever dreamed, and more than I could handle.

My sex clenched and squeezed and my heart soared and twirled. “Hold me,” I shuddered, “please, please never let me go.” My body shook, the muscles between my legs milked and tugged at Ash, and moments later, I opened my eyes to see him smiling up at me.

“Stay here,” he said, after my breathing returned to something approaching normal. “I got a surprised for you.”

I hated for him to leave, but when he came back with a hot towel, flowers and chocolates, I forgave him. Gently, he soothed the sweat and the sex off my skin, and kissed me before he pulled me into his lap and caressed my face gently with his fingertips.

“I hope you like this kind,” he said, grinning at me and kissing me again behind the ear. “They seemed pretty good.”

I took one look at the box, told him I loved them, and set them on the couch. Facing him again, I wrapped my arms around his huge neck and held him tight.

“This is real, right?” I asked. “I’m not going to wake up tomorrow and find a note or something on the pillow and learn that you’re gone and I’m alone?”

“I caught you,” Ash said. “Remember? You wanted me to chase you. You ran, I chased, I caught. If you think I’m just going to vanish after all that work...”

The smile he gave me told me all I needed to know.

“Tell me,” I said. “Tell me it’s real. Tell me you love me again.”

“More than anything, Violet. I love you more than I ever thought I could love. And yes, this is real. As real as anything in the world.”

For a second, we just lay there in each other’s arms, breathing.

“Violet?” he asked. “Can I tell you something?”

  “Anything,” I said.

“Thank you. Thank you for making me safe and making me feel like I have a home, that I’m not just kind of floating through space and waiting for something to happen.”

“You do,” I said. “Right here. We’re both home now, Ash. You and me. Forever.”

Forever? Was I really saying that? Really thinking it? After less than six weeks?

After my screwed up love life, all my confusion and my... being me?

  Yeah. Forever.

And nothing had ever – ever – felt so sure in all my life.

Did you love Bearing It All (Alpha Werebear Shifter Paranormal Romance)? Then you should read To Catch a Wolf (BBW Werewolf Shifter Romance) by Lynn Red!

Sometimes a wolf’s gotta fight and growl and bite. But Erik? He just needs a mate.

Erik Danniken is the alpha of Jamesburg, a small town, hidden from the world, and full of shifters of all stripes. But underneath it all, he’s just a muscled-up, rough-shod bad boy of a werewolf with a tattoo that goes all the way up his chest and sticks out the collar of his shirt. He’s down to his last nerve, but he’s willing to fight one last time... for the woman he loves.

Sometimes a girl needs romance and wine and sweet kisses. But Izzy? She just needs a job.

Isabel Taylor was more than a little frustrated when she answered a very vague job ad to be the personal assistant of a mayor in a town she didn’t know existed. That was two years ago. Curvy, tough and with more than a little bit of a naughty streak, Izzy has long since gotten used to the weirdness of everyday life in Jamesburg... but she’s fallen hard for Erik’s rough charm.

Erik wants to claim her forever, marking Izzy as his honest-to-goodness mate. Izzy wants him to quit being such a coward and just come out and do it, but will a good old-fashioned small town scandal make them keep their love a secret, and in the process, kill it before it can grow?

Note: The Jamesburg Shifters is a series of standalone books. Each installment has its own hero and heroine, and the stories never cross over. Each novel or novella is a complete story, complete with happy-ever-after ending. Enjoy!
