About the Author
I always say that I’m a work in progress. I like to think that I adapt and change with each new day. I learn through watching my kids, really. They still have that youthful innocence that lets them believe in things like magic and miracles and those are things that I think as a writer you have to believe in to some extent.
There’s too much negativity and pain in the world and life it too short to fall prey to it. I won’t deny that I find myself struggling with my own cynicism at times as I look around this planet and what we’ve done to it, but when I write I free myself from this place and the world becomes something else. It turns into an endless realm of possibilities and imagination. I guess in my own way, writing is my escape that allows me to hang onto things like make believe and pretend.
I’ve had people ask why I write about the things I do. I think it’s because my writing is an outlet for everything I see, feel, read, hear…it’s a release. My characters tend to survive traumatic experiences or be fighting against some form of injustice and there’s almost always a dark overtone that is balanced and tempered by love and the connections they share. There are wide extremes of pain and love and I think that I write that way because I’ve lived that way. No one lives a completely charmed life where everything is peaches and crème all the time. Everyone has obstacles and pain that they need to overcome. The situations in my books are just more intense and more fantasized.
As far as the basic stuff about me, I live in Pennsylvania. I’m an author and an artist, mother of two and a wife. I enjoy reading, writing, and art of all kinds. I’m currently working on book thirteen of this series while I process through and publish them in order. I have another series I may be releasing soon, but I’ll let you know more about that once I release book four. I’m still ironing out some of the details ;)
